Honestly. The best down to earth honest group of people I have ever met. Incredible work and they are extremely knowledgeable from cars to large class 7&8 trucks that I have in my fleet. Just nice to know this type of honesty and integrity still exist in this industry. Thank you all at colonie garage for everything you have done for the company I work for and me personally. The lady on the phone wouldn't give me an estimate for the a new set of brakes. She kept insisting me bringing the car for them to look at despite me telling her I need new brakes. I don't think this is common practice. Most places provide me an estimate with no hesitation. Because of the shop's proximity to my house, I would've brought in the car in for the work had she provided an estimate that's within range of others. That's a shame.
These guys are great! I was on my way for a long drive today, passing Albany when my tire pressure went low. I randomly stopped in for help. They quickly repaired my tire and checked all to assure I had safe travels. With NO charge. SO kind and friendly. And sooo nice to see there are helping hands still out there. Thank you so much for your help today, from the random lady who talked your ear off...
Brought my car in because my muffler broke. Original price was $250 but because the fix was easier than expected they lowered it to $100 without me even asking, they didn't have to do that at all I would've never known. So happy with the honesty and respect of this place. And it was done in 1 day. Definitely recommend!
I'm a college student that doesn't know the area very well, but went with instinct when my alternator completely died on me on campus. Had my car towed to the shop on a Friday and within the hour I got a phone call with confirmation that it was my alternator and a reasonable estimate to replace it as well as an oil change that I was overdue on. My car was towed there around 10am and they had it done and ready to be driven off by 5pm. I was super impressed, thanks again!
I went to the shop in June of 2013. They helped me out with an issue my car was having within an hour of me pulling up without an appointment. Price was reasonable for the job they did. I paid with a credit card. Had no issues with payment. All staff were kind and polite. I didn't feel like they were trying to pull one over on me just because I am a woman, like some places do. If I ever have a problem with my car within the Albany area, I'd definitely take it there again. No regrets doing business with them the first time.

Very unprofessional. I waited 2 weeks to get my vehicle there; they gave me a price And then change the price The next day. Take your chance with them if you want to be scammed. Negative

Love the service here. Very knowledgeable folks too. I came in with a flat late in the afternoon the day after we just got a foot and half of snow. Though they couldn t get me a replacement by end of day, they provided me with solid recommendations on where to get it done in time. While I hope I never NEED a mechanic again, I m glad to know a mechanic I can turn to when I need one.
Very dissatisfying experience. I told them what was wrong with the car. They assured me it was something else and charged me to replace a part that wasnt broken. Came back when the same issue persisted, and they finally fixed the sensor that was actually throwing the error, but wouldnt fix the underlying problem, which was a hole in the exhaust. So I took it somewhere else where they know what theyre doing.
Honest people! Great mechanics!
They put in a motor for me completely incorrectly and charged me for a part, and then still just used the old part. This lead to me having to go to another garage after these issues caused my radiator to explode while out of town. The other garage was appalled when they saw the work done on my motor by Colonie Garage, and believed that such poor work was intentional to cause further issues. I DO NOT recommend Colonie Garage. They were dishonest and took advantage of my lack of car knowledge at the time that I had needed repairs.
