George is such a nice guy and a great mechanic. He fixed my brakes and put on new tires within not even a full work day. I also stopped in on short notice after a minor accident to have him take a look and he took 20-30 minutes out of his day to look at and fix my car, without much notice. George has my business as long as I am in Albany !
I called to get two tires replaced. He put me down for a Monday's appointment. I ended up finding someone else to do it on that day (Friday), so I called him back to let him know. I can't recall the mechanic's name but if his work is as good as his manners and communication I will definitely be using him in the future.
The guys there are great. They did great work on my blazer. I would highly recommend going there. They did the job for cheaper than other places wanted. Monro wanted 2200, and lawtons did for 1400.
Mixed bag mechanic. Have had them give me honest service, but also they've wanted to replace 6 month old cabin/engine filters. Those are good for 15k miles
You couldn’t ask for more trustworthy and hardworking team. Dex runs a great shop. They’re always quick to get your car in and they explain what’s wrong in a way that even a car novice can understand. They’re also flexible with pick-ups and drop-off times so it’s really convenient. I would 100% recommend this shop to everyone. They’ve helped me out so many times and are so friendly and honest. It’s like having family take care of your car. Heroes!
This is a good crew. Quick to answer the phone and get the details. Smart, fast, friendly service, and they don’t rake you over the coals. My son’s car went there with a water pump issue and they identified and fixed it right away. Walked us through what they did when it was all done. Price was great too. If you’re looking for a friendly trustworthy place to go in the neighborhood, here’s where you should go. Highly recommend. Thanks, guys.
Hidden gem…these guys are chill and won’t over charge you for things you don’t need. Service is quick and will get you your car back fast…came in with engine running rough thought it was something more severe and they told me they just needed to clean the throttle bay a quick $10 service they also took care of my ball joint as my wheel was almost to the point of falling off and didn’t even realize…engine is ruining smooth and the car is driving straighter then when I bought it in…they even charged me less then what they originally thought it would come to…will definitely use them again! Just a heads up they are usually booked out a week in advance.
I had a very stressful time with a bad alternator and was getting told outrageous prices from different shops in the Capital district. Lawton's Auto had the most reasonable price and the customer service was great from my very first phone call (special shoutout to Dex). Service was great and efficient. Wait time was also reasonable. I hope to not need any work again but if I do I'd definitely go back.

Whoever answered the phone offered excellent customer service. All my questions were answered in a polite and courteous manner. Will definitely be looking to bring my car here for repairs just based off the phone conversation I had today. Highly recommend giving them a call.
The mechanics and all the staff were very professional. They kept in touch with me regarding changes on the original work advised me of future issues and preventive work that could/should be done while the car was there. Absolutely TOP NOTCH. 5 STARS
I would give them 6 stars instead of 5. My friend recommended Lawtons after the dealership misdiagnosed the issue with my Jeep as an ECU, even though the enge code showed a bad fuel injector. I wasted 10 days and $700. Lawtons mechanics correctly diagnosed it as a bad fuel injector and fixed the problem in one day. The car ran perfectly. However, there was an issue with a strong gasoline smell when driving. Even though they were booked for a week, they took my car in, and the mechanic worked on it on the weekend to fix the problem - no charge! For a small shop, the mechanics are top-notch and dedicated to getting the job done right. Thank you for a job well done!!!
Call this place! Ive been looking for an honest shop for a long time. Lawtons is both honest and does the work right. Highly recommend making this your regular shop.
Employees at both locations are so friendly and nice and helpful. As a woman it s a little bit intimidating going to the mechanic because sometimes they don t treat you equally. Never got that feeling at Lawton and I ve been to both locations.

The mechanics at this shop are very honest and straightforward. It is refreshing to see integrity at an establishment taking care of vehicles. During the inspection they check the air filters and instead of automatically charging me or pushing me to pay them to install them, I was contacted and asked if I would be capable of doing it myself. It was an opportunity for them to make a quick easy couple of bucks off of me, but instead they just advised me they needed to be replaced and allowed me to take care of myself. This is the only garage I will be taking my vehicle to in this area.
