I just bought a car from Lia Hyundai, but I have not had it serviced yet. The purchase experience was pretty laid-back. We were stressed going in, and Caitlyn Bendick who sold us the car did not pressure us, and was open to working with us about the price. I've been driving a 2009 Corolla since late-2008 so was really leaning toward another Toyota, but I was willing to give a Hyundai a try in part because of how pleasant the experience at the dealer was. (I'd read a bunch about the car before we went too.) Once we'd bought the car, Caitlyn sat in it with me for a while and walked me through a bunch of things about the car. Hopefully the service visits will be as good an experience as buying the car was!
Great experience! Just moving to a new area and looking for a Hyundai dealership.. I found Lia Hyundai, and Tim Frank is just plain excellent!! John King took very good care of me at the Hyundai dealership on Monday. He got me in line immediately and got my service records in order, which got me serviced and out of there very quickly! We are new customers to this dealership. Brought our existing Santa Fe in for service while also shopping for a new car. Timothy Frank was our service advisor and he was awesome. No pressure, explained the service options and prices and was pleasant to work with. I had been searching for a place where I felt confident in the service I was paying for. About 6 months ago I decided to bring my Sonata to Lia Hyundai and was assigned Michael Carpenter as my service manager. I have never been so impressed by the service he provided me, first he asked and listened to what I wanted done to my car. He made a couple recommendations, some I agreed to others I put off to a future visit. He phoned me a couple times during the service kept me in the loop as to how the car was coming along called and let me know when the car was ready. The most impressive thing about my experience has been Michael Carpenter customer treatment, which keeps me coming back. He s truly a professional and very courteous.

Went in for my maintenance. I was 10 minutes early and waited about 5 minutes before getting in (Still 5 minutes before my scheduled appointment) and they were very apologetic for my wait (mind you I was early). They got me in and out in a very reasonable time. I was very happy with my service. Other visits, Casandra was great. Very cheerful and upbeat. She has been very helpful both times that I worked with her. Angelo the service tech was very informative and helpful and solved the issues for me.

Okay so.... This 5 stars is for a specific person, rather than the service itself. Marcos is the one you want to ask for when you get service done here. Out of any dealership service center, Marcos has been the hands down most helpful and most attentive service advisor. No BS and down to earth. Long story short... Ask for Marcos. In terms of service.... oy. Techs may need some retraining based on how many times I have had my car in there for the same issue without a real fix.

After facing disappointment with Fuccillo Hyundai, where I received no communication regarding important recall notices, I decided to take matters into my own hands. Will never do business here again. The service department is very dishonest. Brought my daughters car in for an inspection, 2 recalls, and an oil change. Waited almost 4 hours. They failed the inspection and gave me a long list of things to fix, almost $3k. I took my daughters car to a local mechanic the next day for a second inspection and gave him the papers from this dealership. He said only 2 things needed to be fixed and would only cost me $200. There was nothing wrong with the rest. And he didnt even charge me for the inspection. I wouldnt go back to Lia Hyundai for anything. Their prices are ridiculous and their service is slow and dishonest.
This was my first visit to Lia Service Dept. If they all are this good Ill be extremely happy. Casandra Rancourt was my service advisor and was outstanding. She got me in and out very quickly and she was very professional and nice. My second visit: John King was my service adviser and was very pleasant and professional. I had a slow leak in a tire, they found 2 nails and stated the tire could not be repaired, so I had to buy a new tire. Not great news, but what can I do, with less than 5,000 miles on my car I had to replace a tire. Darn.
I came in the dealership with a check engine light and Timothy Frank helped me get everything sorted. After a lot of work being done on my tucson its good as new

After 2 days of car not starting or restarting, even with jumps, I brought it in to Lia Hyundai and Larry Salisbury without an appointment, at the end of the day (car could not be turned off, since it wouldnt start again). He accommodated me, and a day later the car had a new battery and the ESC engine light was extinguished. I appreciated so much the service without an appointment. Always excellent service but Larry really helped this time in particular.

Timothy Frank was the person I dealt with at check-in when I brought my car in for switching snow tires to regular tires earlier this week. He was very professional and courteous. He also took the time to inform me what services would be coming up and the pricing that would be involved. That was very helpful as well.
While Lias service (John King) on 4/23/24 of my 2021 Santa Fe was 5 stars, I cannot say the same for Hyundais honoring my new car warranty. Within the first 3 years, the STOP/IDLE/START function stopped working and that issue was one of the services of my visit. I was told, by Lias John King, that Hyundai WOULD NOT HONOR their industrys best warranty and declined to fix the S/I/S problem. Hyundais explanation was that the customer can perform the fix. Mr. King offered three solutions: 1. Lia would fix the problem for $159, even though the auto was still under warranty. 2. Mr. King suggested that I, the customer, could go online to Hyundai and download the program on a thumb drive and then upload it onto my Santa Fe. Mr. King did give me the Hyundai website to do the download and WARNED me of the danger of possibly frying the cars system if not done properly. YIKES! 3. Dont do anything. I declined options 1 and 2 (based on the severe possibility of customer error). Shame on Hyundai for not honoring their warranty. My Santa Fe was put into service on 4/30/21, less than 3 years ago. Hyundais suggestion of having the customer perform what could turn out to be a disastrous action is not acceptable. What a cop out! I will be sharing Hyundais refusal with several auto review magazines. J Ryan

These people are scammers. My brother brought the car here for a repair and inspection. They did the repair first AND then told him he will need more repairs for inspection. It cost so much, we could just sell the car for parts and get more money instead. They shouldve informed us before doing the repairs. I am very disappointed in this place and their work ethic.

Explained what was done.The time frame was much less than explected. I was Glad I did NOT have to pack a lunch. The service was completed quickly and correctly. Shawn Vital was very helpful with the purchase of my new certified 2020 Hyundai Sonata Limited. I walked in with no appointment and helped me right away. The test drive was thorough and he was knowledgeable of the cars features. Negotiating the price and my trade in was pretty straight forward and fair. I ve bought many cars over the years, but this was my first Hyundai as well as my first purchase with Lia. I m overall pleased with the whole process. They weren t overly pushy either. I picked up my new car the very next day. Picking up the car was pretty easy and the finance woman was pleasant, friendly very informative, helpful and non-pushy. I recently had a NYS vehicle inspection and oil change of my 2023 Sonata here. There was no waiting to take the car in when I arrived at the agreed upon appointment time. My service rep, Cassandra, was very helpful, answered questions and made sure all went smoothly. Overall, this was a great experience, especially since I had gone to three other independent shops---Jiffy Lube and 2 different Mavis locations, and none of them had enough staff to do the inspections and totally wasted my time.

I brought my 2022 Tucson to Lia Hyundai for routine service. I was greeted by service writer Cassandra Rancourt. Casandra cheerfully wrote up my order, made several service recommendations, offered a free car wash, then directed me to a very comfortable waiting area where complimentary coffee and water were available. In a short period of time, my vehicle was serviced, and I was on my way. Ms. Rancourts knowledge and professionalism left me feeling very content with this experience.

This was a different experience from my last. Super efficient and extremely nice. Incredibly respectful and it was a departure of what I would deem an experience worse than going to the dentist. John King and his team were superb and got my car up and running in no time. Quotes 1.5 Hours but was done in less then :30. I have hesitated going back since my other experience here was horrible. I think there was a change in management or something that made this great.
My service advisor, John, was very responsive. He kept me informed of the status of my vehicle, and he was very courteous and helpful when I went to the dealership to pick up my vehicle.

I am writing this review to express my satisfaction with the service department at Lia Hyundai. I recently brought my 2024 Hyundai Tucson to the service department. Mike Carpenter was my service advisor for my appointment. He was very helpful and accommodating. Mike covered everything that was needed to make the appointment go smoothly. His estimate of how long it would take was quicker than i expected but was spot on. Mike even made sure to offer me a complimentary car wash after service was completed. Kudos to Mike Carpenter and the staff at Lia Hyundai service!
John King an associate of Lia Hyundai of Albany was very professional and kind while assisting us with the replacement of an engine part in our Hyundai Tucson. It was a day after the Thanksgiving, but everyone in the service area were cheerfull and attentive to customers.
Over the last 18 years, I have owned 3 Hyundai Santa Fes and now aTucson. I have always had each SUV serviced by the Hyundai dealership from which it was purchased. I took my Tucson for its first oil change to Lia Hyundai and was met by Michael Carpenter who handled all the paper from start to finish. I want to thank the staff at Lia Hyundai of Albany, especially Casandra and Angelo. I had not been at the dealership since before Covid-19 was a thing (October of 19), and had subsisted on visits to the local garage since then...where they will do what you ask, but not anything else. But this time, I needed to bring the car to the dealership for a recall, My 09 Santa Fe has almost 210k miles, and, fortunately, the multi-point inspection found a few items that pretty desperately needed attention. The whole job took almost 9 hours from start to finish, but Cassandra was able to snag me Lyfts from the dealership home, and back when the car was done (total combined wait time for both rides was under 10 minutes, win!), and Angelo labored over my car all day. Im going to try to get another year or 18 months out of this car, and it just feels good to know that Angelo completely and safely attended to it. So, hats off to Cassandra and Angelo - thank you, both!

Cassandra Rancourt was awesome at listening to my car issue that I could only express vaguely but listened carefully and was able to communicate that concern accurately to the service mechanic who immediately zoomed in and was able to validate and diagnose the concern and fix the problem to my complete satisfaction. A cylinder coil had to be replaced. The process seemed seamless to me. The coordination was excellent. I was kept up to date throughout the process.
Timothy @ Lia Hyundai was great! He walked us through what we services should be done sooner rather than later. Our wait time was not long at all for the services we had done! We had an emergency visit as well that was quickly taken care of by Timothy! Definitely recommend Lia Hyundai!

My Tucson was due for 20K service. Service provider was Timothy Frank. He was very efficient, kind and helpful as I had several repairs to be done. I was there for awhile and he came over to give me an update and some chocolates, which I got a kick out of.

Fast and quick service
The appointment for service on my 2023 Kona was scheduled for noon, and the work began on-time. The wait wasnt long at all, and having wi-fi and a decently comfortable place to sit helped. Timothy Frank was the service person who took care of my car, and he made sure that i had no questions or concerns before i left.

The car was in for a quick warranty thing...it needed a new door for the charging port. The work was done fine...but then the tech parked it in the far corner of the parking lot. Okay, stuff happens, but he could have notified the cashier so I didnt have to spend five minutes looking for it. And, a personal pet peeve here--when I got in the car I checked and discovered the headlights were in the OFF position. Techs: if you have to change settings, PUT THEM BACK the way you found them. So annoying...

I was cheerfully greeted by Casandra Rancourt, a Lia Hyundai Customer Service employee, upon my arrival for a car inspection. She carefully checked for any listed recall items (free of course) that might be listed as well as my cars history of service. I bought the new 2015 Accent and it still runs like a charm. I was extremely satisfied with the cost for the inspection and a tire rotation. When I experienced an issue with my Ionic, a quick call to the Service Manager and I was immediately scheduled to come in so a service repair expert could evaluate the problem. Within 2 hours of my phone call, I was at the dealership and my car was being looked at. Problem solved and I was on my way with 2.5 hours. Amazing.
