I went to get an estimate on installing music in my car, and the worker wouldnt shut up. Every time I spoke, he cut me off to say something. I was only spending $5,000 on my car entertainment. After that horrible encounter, Im going somewhere else. Where someone listens to the customer. This cupcake response with insults. I have enough money to pay for what I want done to one of my 3 cars. To say I had $500 is a joke. The response shows the person who did the estimate is clearly butt hurt from my review. I stated the facts. Maybe listen to your customers cupcake I went to McLoud in Albany and got what I wanted at a great price. They listen to the customer. Do not waste your time or money at Capital Customs.

Butcher shop...... If you are looking for a place that that will use self tapping screws for grounds, mount amplifiers under your power seats so that you cant use the seat anymore, shave off of the coating on your factory wiring, install speakers and blow one and not take care of it, install a radio and mess up the harness and blame it on the radio and then call back and say you fixed it, not make sure all your work is acceptable nor make sure it all works and actually let it leave the shop sounding like complete garbage than this place is for you! BTW you try and talk to the owner (Jesse) and he wont own a bit of it...... Feel free to respond and I will be happy to post the photos of the butchery. Owner claims I damages my equipment yet his employees used self tappers for my grounds in the sheet metal under the plastic trim when you get into the vehicle. That alone shows the the lack of knowledge or pride in their craft. Who uses self tappers for a 10k amp... alternator noise that I voiced my concern to you as soon as I picked up the vehicle..... the fact you didnt even make sure everything was working correctly before I left... the back up camera..... the fact your workers or you even thought it was a good idea to mount the amp under an electric seat that folds down was a good idea.... the fact that you or your employees, after finding that the ground wasnt any good and shearing of the coating of my factory wiring (right where you put the ground in the first place) and then throw a piece of aluminum tape over the hole they drilled or the fact that your idea of a big 3 upgrade would be to run 4 gauge when the rest of the wires were 0... I mean did you even use an oscope to set the gains to the amps? You sure didnt run the subs at a higher impedance like I had asked either. No I didnt mess up my own equipment, actually I re installed all the equipment the proper way and funny thing once I did a proper big 3 the alternator noise went away. I wasnt looking for some cheap labor. I would have paid more, for a good install. If you didnt want to do it you could have just told me no instead of allowing a cob job install just to get it out the door. You brought up my equipment.. the speakers I had in the doors were 1300+ the radio I had you install was 1500+ the 1500+ all my wires were high end ofc. You talked me into replacing my speakers and selling me some crappie amps. I should have known better to have bought. Not once did I say I wanted to cut corners or was worried about expense. You could have had more business. Instead you have this review that you can deny that it was you or your workers fault all you want and yes its your word against mine but if it comes down to it and I can save a few people from getting their setups destroyed than great. Best of luck. I have learned from this sideshow, I hope you do as well.

Over the past 6 years I have gotten to know Jesse from bringing him various bikes. I m never disappointed by him or his work. The first bike I brought him he did a full speaker over haul, every time I got on that bike it brought a smile to my face knowing how loud the sound system was. Second bike I brought him I needed my oil seals replaced on the primary side due to it leaking, it s dry as a bone now. All around great guy and a great mechanic! Thank you for the amazing work you do!

Had a friend refer me to Jessie at Capital Customs. Was looking to upgrade my stereo on my 2020 Road Glide. Called on a Monday morning and spoke to one of his guys and answered all my questions that I had. Jessie called me back shortly after and took my bike that afternoon. The next day by lunchtime the bike was done. He did an incredible job and speaker and amp set up sounds amazing. I ll definitely be back. Definitely earned a lifetime customer!!!

They helped me install the dash cam, and it is great. But I got a keyless start problem warning for my vehicle because the dash cam was tapped into the keyless entry unit. I brought in my vehicle the next day, and they fixed it within 10 minutes without additional charge. Great place with great service! Strongly recommended.

Purchased a car starter for my mom a couple years ago, it didn t work at first but the employees were very helpful with fixing it right away when I brought it back to them. The other day I accidentally turned on valet mode and they were really helpful when I called for support and knew what the issue was right away. Definitely recommend.

Snobby and rude. My wife booked an appointment for me for Christmas here to add a remote starter and upgrade my radio to an Android Auto header unit and backup camera. I had called and talked to one rep who was nice, asked me about my car, and answered all my questions. He confirmed that I could bring in my own header unit on the day of the appointment to be installed as long as it was a recognized name brand. I had one final question about compatibility, and when I called again another rep answered. The second rep was incredibly rude right off the bat. He kept cutting me off and refused to hear out, let alone answer my final compatibility question. Then he told me we only booked for a remote car starter we couldnt do the rest of the install at the same time. If it was a misunderstanding, thats fine, but thats not what the first person I talked to said, and he acted as if I was the a****** for thinking it was booked for all services. When I tried to schedule a second appointment, he refused and said wed have to come in first to ensure compatibility (again contradicting the other guy, and what can easily be determined through a site like Crutchfield). Frankly he seemed like he was trying to upsell me on additional labor. And when I pointed out that he was being rude and asked if there was anyone else I could talk to, he refused to hand me off (maybe to someone with a cooler head?) and doubled down on the tone. So when I asked the guy who put **** in his coffee that morning, not in a threatening tone at all and just trying to bring him back to earth (because clearly he had other issues going on), he cancelled the appointment! So, if you like to play the customer service lottery, this place might be for you!!! Edit to respond to owner. I never said or implied that I did not want the car starter. That is a fabricated assumption that the individual who was handling the call made, seemingly just because I tried asking a question about a header unit. My assumption that I could bring in a separately purchased head unit in at the time of the appointment was because I explicitly asked that question to the first rep I talked to last week, and he CONFIRMED that it was totally fine. So this shop seems a bit confused if they do not work that way. And its confusion that might have been easily overcome if the 2nd rep hadnt been constantly rude throughout the call.

I ve had my remote starter for a week and I m happy with it. When I got there I was told it ll take an hour and a half to two hours to install but it took only and hour which was nice. The staff were nice and made sure I understood how everything worked before I left the shop. Will definitely recommend to friends and family.

After a bad experience with a plug and play remote car starter . I contacted capital customs they gave me a great price over the phone and even offered to get my car in the same day. I couldn t make it that day but they got me in the next day and had the work completed in less than an hour! Very friendly and answered all questions I had. I went here to have the sound system completely redone with premium gear recommended by these guys in my 2021 Volkswagen Arteon. Wow. A car environment is the hardest place to make even premium gear sound good if you dont know what you are doing, you need to know how sound works. These guys have good ears, they did an amazing job installing and tuning the system. The install was super clean too. I did a lot of shopping around in the capital region, these guys are it, no compromise. They work QUICK too. Im so happy with this system. I might cancel my plane tickets to Florida next month so I can listen to this thing the whole way.

Found capital Customs on line. Made an appointment to have remote start installed. 45 minutes later, it was done! Great job, I couldnt be happier. The remote is tiny and the entire job has a lifetime warranty, just hold onto your receipt! I took a picture of mine. Great service. If I need any audio work done, Ill be running back!

I called on a Monday afternoon and they were able to accommodate a car starter instillation for the next morning. Then called to say I already had a factory installed one (I know embarrassing). They could have totally ripped me off but instead they were very honest and even showed me how to use it!

Do not tell you no refunds on gift cards. Not until on printed receipt no reason for this I paid for a surprise gift remote starter as an appointment weeks out. Inflexibility at its finest, poor business practice at best. Way to disappoint a 67 year old woman at Christmas time. Not ONE SIGN or explanation at check out which is NYS law !!! Admitting that is on the receipt AFTER purchase only proves my point lol

I never ever post anything good or bad about a business. I drove over 200 miles to have my stereo looked at on my bike.i communicated a few times with the owner previously before making the trip.i get there a hour early and I get the bike off the trailer and he gets it right in to work on it.less than 20 minutes later he tells me that a few wires had been mixed up when the battery was changed. He straightened it right out and gets it working. I said to Jesse the owner how much to I owe you? He said to me you drove two hundred miles to get here you dont owe me anything? Huh? Unheard of???. Great business with very good people. Hard to believe there are still people in this world that are not out to take advantage of others.

Capital customs did a full audio install on my WRX,speakers, reciver, amps ,and sub. Saddly not everything went as planned but Jesse worked with me and we were able to get everything exactly as i wanted it. The install job was clean and profesional and the customer service was exceptional.

I have never, not once in my life, experienced customer service like this. I sent an email at 9pm on a Sunday night because I was stumped on an audio problem and Im 3 hours away. Ive never met Jesse, nor he me. He calls me back 10 min later and gave me advice. 2 days later, I text him at my wits end. He walked me, step by step, how to fix my problem (via pics, guidance, etc) until past midnight. And the problem is solved. Ive never been so frustrated with something, and then so relieved iny life. 87 degrees tomorrow and I wanted to listen to my music while riding...thanks to Jesse, I can. Making the trip to his shop just to thank him on person and get some add-ons for my bike. If youre in the tri-state area, go to Capital Customs and see Jesse...you will NOT be disappointed.

Jesse does great work! I was looking for somewhere to get new tires mounted on my motorcycle 2 days before Americade. Everyone else around told me there is no way to get them done in 2 days. I called Capital Customs up dropped the bike off and a few hours later Jesse was calling me telling me that my my bike was ready to be picked up! I recommend this shop to anyone who is looking for great work at an honest price!

NEVER get your remote starter installed here!! We spent almost $700 on two remote starters and the night of the install my car experienced an electrical surge.. I called them next day and they insisted there was nothing wrong with their install and to keep an eye on it, and if anything else came up to go to a dealer to get it diagnosed because it must have been something different. A few days later my fuel door stops working when i needed to get gas, so i had to pry it open to get it filled. Two days later I bring the car to the dealer like they said and they come up with the remote starter install being done incorrectly with wires swapped. After me sitting at the dealership for 3 hours, they refused to cover the diagnosis fee I was charged when I called Capital Customs to tell them about what was found. They changed their story and say how i should ve brought it to them first to diagnose After another half hour of them fixing their botched install, they also stated the collateral damage of me having to damage the fuel door to get it open was like me locking my keys in the car and breaking the window to get in. Maybe they re right, it was my fault for going to them to have my remote starter installed for them to then cause my fuel door to not work and all this other drama. It was all so unprofessional and the price was definitely too good to be true. Take your money elsewhere!!

I called this place asking if they can do installation for an aftermarket audio systems, the brand is Hieha. They answer was: NO we dont install those here, in a very rude way. I said ok thank you and they hang up, nothing else. My conclusion: those guys doesnt have idea of what is customers service and being professional. I will not recommend those guys not even try to call them.

Dropped off my 2015 Ram 2500 to get a touchscreen head unit, back up camera and automatic start. Dropped it at 12:15 and they called at 2pm to pick it up. I was blown away! All their work was extremely clean and everything tucked away and out of sight. Prices were EXTREMELY fair! I assumed it would be a few grand for all this work and it wasnt even close. Everyone recommended this shop and I now see why.

If you live in the Capital Region dont even hesitate to go to Capital Customs if you are looking for quality work. Billy and Jesse do exceptional installation work but more importantly will give you great customer service. I just bought a new car that had a factory audio system that was extremely underwhelming but thanks to Jesse and Billy my car now sounds fantastic, all musical instruments can be distinctly heard with clarity and power. Most of all though is the great customer service that I mentioned above, Billy and Jesse took time to listen and understand what I needed. Much appreciated guys!!!

Headlights Upgrade: Big Improvement! I purchased high and low beam halogen headlights from Jesse at Capital Customs on February 28, 2019, and he installed them in my 2016 Hyundai Azera These headlights greatly improve visibility over the original equipment headlights provided by Hyundai. On August 19, 2019, the ballasts failed in the headlights. Jesse was kind enough to replace the entire headlight assemblies, both high and low beams, and install them, at no charge. He also adjusted the aim of the headlights to insure they point as intended, again, at no charge. Jesse stands behind the products he sells and installs, and he is an honest businessman. Capital Customs installed a radio for me in my vehicle and they were much more affordable then all other custom car electronics companies in the area. Also I was having an issue with my factory roof marker light kit on my truck and I stopped by Capital Customs and they were able to fix it perfectly, and even better FREE OF CHARGE!! Capital Customs is sooo much more than a car stereo store. I had a headlamp that needed replacing. They had the broken one out and the new one installed in record time. Their prices were very reasonable. The customer service was polite, courteous and knowledgeable about my issue and others as well. There was Mercedes getting tint on the windows while I was there, I couldnt help noticing the craftsmanship. Definitely experience there. So guess what Ill be asking Capital Customs to do next?? Call ahead with your automotive issues... I bet they can help you out!!!!

Best experience I ve ever had when it comes to radio shopping and installation. Jesse took awesome care of me and my car. These guys are very professional and knowledgeable. I have a used car that had some extra wiring issues going on and Jesse cleaned it all up for me without hesitation, something he clearly didn t have to do. I m loving my new Pioneer radio!
