Truly the best place to bring your car! Understandably, i drive a mercedes so places can be pricy with the amount of work that has to be done on the regular. The environment and employees of THIS mavis is great, affordable and friendly. When they say your car will be done in an hour, they mean it!! Two employees here, both named Josh are great. I highly recommend as this is where i bring my car for quick work!!

Friday afternoon and leaving town at midnight. Got a flat. Stopped at snother shop to the road as I passed their first and online at an appt in 20 mins. Show hi they told me maybe be done by closing. So I called mavis. The fellas said it will be a little wait but we ll getcha in and out. And hour and a half later I was checked out and in my way. Thanks again guys, above and beyond

Last week I went there for state inspection, but they said we can t because our license is expired. I really not understand have can someone run the business with expired license, but can t to inspection. They are making these excuses, just because they don t want do state inspection because they can t charge you extra. State must take action on this matter. This is the third mechanic who declined to do state inspection.

I have had to use this Mavis for a tire repair recently, it s the season for flats. The professionalism and customer service here is top notch. Thank you Josh, George and Aiden for the excellent speedy customer service to allow me to get my tires repaired and back on the road so quickly.

Mavis on Central Ave doesnt miss! Recently needed an alignment and oil change, it was started asap and my car is running smoothly again! Oftentimes you come across a strange vibe with auto shops but at this point I feel comfortable coming to the crew here with any questions. I cant recommend them enough!

Went there for an inspection yesterday and failed inspection due to needing new brakes and rotors, so I said cool I ll get them swapped out. The clerk then attempted to charge me $1100.00 for new breaks and rotors replacement. That was the most outrageous price I ve ever been charged for this service. Shitty customer service, don t waste your time. I understand y all are experiencing a lot of scrutiny since that limosine accident happened, but that doesn t mean hike up the prices on loyal customer. Extremely dissatisfied.

I called on a Sunday afternoon about an issue with my muffler. They took me in right away diagnosed and solved the problem quickly! Great experience! Will be back and would 100% recommend! Thanks again guys!

They don t bother telling you about all of their extra fees until you show up and they re halfway into the job. 20 extra dollars to mount the wheel back on my car after a tire repair don t ever come to this place and if you do dont fall for that because mounting your wheel is not hard to do yourself

Kaz and the guys took care of redoing my alignment that was slightly off. Was able to get me in by 2pm and out in a couple hours. Things are straight and my 2 new tires feel great.

I have been coming here for about a year. Mavis always does a great job with oil changes , inspections, tire repairs and installations. Back in June they replaced my tire valve sensor. When it started acting up again this week I brought it in today and they fixed it free of charge! Always very happy with their work.

Wow! I went to 935 central avenue Albany ny. This place is the best in town Bar none. I went there for an oil change. Josh (the store manager) got me right in immediately. I was ecstatic! I literally just handed the keys to my vehicle to him and he handed them right back to me it was complete. Placed an appointment for 12noon. Showed up early at 11:40 and spoke to the employee. He said that it would be an hour before they could get me in (so much for appointments but whatever) and that they don t hold times for inspections. He then said I will call you when the time opens up regardless and get you in . I told the employee I would be right back regardless and he acknowledged and went back to other things. So I drive to Colonie Center to drop a package at USPS, come back and sit in the waiting room at 12:30. At 12:54 the employee called me and then looks over and sees I m sitting there. Then tells me someone else came in at 12:39 and is now going to get the next inspection because they don t hold times and it would now be a 3-4 hour wait. I explained I was sitting int the waiting room and my time slot was given away somehow because he didn t see me or bother to call until AFTER. The employee then went around in circles with we don t hold times and I didn t see you and refused to take responsibility for messing up the times and notifying the next person of the issue. This store is an absolute joke.

I stopped by today at 430pm because my tpms sensor light came up and was told that someone would check the tire pressure. I waited patiently for 1 hour to be turned a way. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! Everyone saw me sitting there including the manager. This location is a joke. I dont recommend this location at all. Call me a Karen if you want but you dont have someone wait 1 hour to then be turned away. I could have went to another place for service in that time.

They need to use common sense, people dont want to sit for hours when they are told they were made an appointment. Sat for almost 2 hours with no end in site as people who walked in got put head of me. Within the next hour got oil change and tires done as a walk in nearby. They should be transparent with pple let them make informed decisions rather than sit around.

I went to do an oil change service on my 2013 Honda Pilot and they were not even able to lift my car nor could they open the oil tank cover and there were three men there, they put an apprentice to do the job and he didnt have the slightest clue. I had no idea how to do it, I had to intervene and take my vehicle. The supervisor seems not to care in the slightest and the front staff doesnt even know how often the oil should be changed in a car, nor does he have any idea what the drain plug uses. a pressure washer and it must be changed, it does not occur to them to go to this place, they will waste their time and money.

Brought in my classic car for an inspection - funny how I had perfect brakes on the way in but leaking calipers all around on the way out. I wish I had never gone here. They wouldnt even man up and pay to tow it home. I know its common for people to say it wasnt like that when I brought it in but I promise you, the people who do their own work on classic cars are not trying to drive an unsafe machine, theres no way it was a coincidence, theres no way it was my fault. They did something to my car and they wont own up to it. I wish I had never taken my car in to this place. Lets see how much they cost me.

These guys are fantastic!! Got me in for brakes toward the end of the day, gave me a discount on my brakes and everything!!

This is an unfortunate situation that I wish never happened, but it is a fact. My car battery didnt start, and I had no power, so I towed it to Mavis. They called me back and told me that the problem was with the battery. I changed the battery, and the car ran fine. Problem solved? No. The next morning, the same issue happened again. I called Mavis for help, but they told me they could not do anything about it. I had to Uber to work for a few days. When I called for a second tow, the tow guy checked my battery and circuit. He said the battery was fine, and only the terminals and wires needed to be cleaned up and the connections needed to be tightened up. He did it himself in just one minute with a knife and some elbow grease. There was no need to tow the car anywhere. I brought the car back to Mavis, stating my concern and annoyance, and expecting them to clean the terminals. However, they told me everything looked fine and nothing needed to be changed. To summarize: two tows, one changed battery, and more than ten Ubers. The man who came for the second tow fixed my problem with an old knife. In reality, the issue just needed some bolts and wires, which I could have fixed myself if I had been educated about. Its a really bad look for the business, and the worst part for me was that they pretended to provide a service they initially should not have taken on. Its the money, the time, the break in trust, and the inconvenience. I cannot speak on behalf of other services provided by Mavis, which many people claim to be great and are satisfied with. However, when it comes to my experience, it was disappointing.

Tried to have my inspection done there and was told I needed new front brakes, rotors, and control arm bushings, but just took it to the dealership and it passed inspection. I won t be going back there again.

Do NOT go here!! I bought tires from them about a year ago, and went in for a routine tire rotation. I picked up the car and drove a half a block before my tire fell off the mechanic forgot to tighten the lug nuts. I called, broken down in the middle of Central Ave, and they sent a store employee to help. The store employee was so panicked and had no idea what to do. I took picture of the car, attached, and walked back to the store (again, this happened a half a block away). The manager Josh was polite, but again was very panicked and had no idea what to do. I asked them to call me a tow and someone who knew the process/ procedure for when this happened. While waiting for the tow Josh told me that this has happened three times while he has been working at Mavis (he later told me that he has been there for 9 months). Josh said there is a process for tire rotations but no one really uses it and generally the training mechanics do it , and they should get sign off, but normally don t. I was appalled, Josh said this statement so casually, and later said they very rarely sign off on work anymore as corporate doesn t require it, and it takes up too much time. The regional manager, Mike, was rude from the start, while still waiting for the tow Mike called us and said that there wasn t much they could do unless I let them fix it. At this point I just wanted my car fixed properly so told him I would be taking it to the dealer, he hung up on me as soon as I said this. The whole process of getting the car fixed was a mess, the dealer sent Mavis a quote but they refused to accept it and Mike wouldn t answer our calls. We had to call the Mavis store to ask them to call Mike several times, and still wouldn t hear from him. He hung up on us a few more times, and refused to provide us with a more senior person s phone number, or a corporate phone number to work with someone else. It took about two weeks for the car to be fully fixed because of the late approvals on Mavis side. I accrued costs while the car was being fixed (e.g., Ubers to and from work, etc.) that I would not have otherwise had if this incident did not take place. The costs are not my main concern though, it really is how I trusted this establishment with a simple job and they did not do it correctly. What if this was something that I couldn t have seen the effects of so quickly, like an oil change or breaks. I trusted Mavis to do quality work and that trust was completely broken. I understand accidents happen, but the way I was treated after the accident really exacerbated the depth of this new found mistrust. Save your self the headache and go somewhere else!

Had a simple flat tire issue. They replaced the tire, then diagnosed my car with another totally unexpected issue that just didn t sound right. Got a second opinion from another source I have more consistent history with and, surprise, no problems detected. Two or three months later, I get another flat in the tire Mavis replaced. This has been my experience in numerous locations. I would avoid this place like the plague. Friendly people, but I wouldn t be surprised if there s a class action suit one day.

Had an issue and they were able to get me in very quick. I was able to go and view the problem and discuss the matter at hand. Very courteous and straight on with no beating around the bush. I hive 5 stars to these guys. JOB WELL DONE

A nail like this stuck in my car. And when I searched around to repair it, I regretted choosing the place with the highest score. They couldnt fix this small hole, and a friend who worked there secretly told me that I would fix it if you gave me extra money. Dont go here and get scammed

The service people at this Mavis store made a difficult day MUCH easier! I had an issue with one of my tires after being towed out of snow, and not only did they take me in right away (granted, they werent busy at the time), but they remedied the problem WITHOUT trying to find a host of other things to charge me for. The men were very nice and informed me about what to look for in potential future problems. I left the store very satisfied, and I will definitely return there for future issues! Thank you!!
