DO NOT COME HERE FOR INSPECTION My wife took her car here with 30k miles (bought from dealer btw) over here and they tell her that the threads are low and she needs 2 new front tires. They will scam you with some bs especially if you re a girl. Telling someone they need new tires when they only have 30k miles is some type of joke.

This morning 04/03/25 I went to do my state inspection on my car at 980 Central Ave Albany and it was denied due to an accusation that the parking brake is defective and when I took it to a mechanic to check it, there was no problem and I went back to ask for an explanation they treated me badly and took the sheet I gave them to look at and threw the paper in my face and said it was not their problem if I lost my day of work, I have videos to prove it, I am very disappointed with this company, Be very careful when taking your car for inspection because they charge more than 300 to fix something that wasnt broken and when I went to complain they threw the paper in my face

Im from Massachusetts and got a flat tire on my way home from work at 3:30. I drive a flex car and they only deal with pep boys in Albany because maintenance is included. Hower pep boys were not able to help, not even with putting our donut on. We were stranded in Albany! The two guys next door at Monroe saved our lives that night, put on our donut and we got home safe, we are so grateful! Thank you!!!

Offered to replace battery and tires. Instead of fixing the Alternator. They fixed the Alternator and that is what I asked.

Complete scam artists. They gave me a laundry list of things wrong with my car. I brought it to a reputable mechanic and he told me it doesn t need any of that work. Monro will lie to your face to get you to spend more money.

I do try my best to be nice. Maybe too nice but its getting harder and harder. Lets just say if you go here your not getting out until they take your money even if its just to say they did something when they dont. My fiasco began with a damn groupon for a wheel alignment. Its just to get you in there. Id recommend Warren tire on Route 7 in Latham. More integrity and more competent. I like the guts here but Im 99% sure that I was charged 300.00 for an inspection sticker. They said it was to adjust the brake cable but its just sagging underneath. For some reason though. Ive lost 3 miles to the gallon. Thats concerning. Hey; what the hell doesnt money grow on trees. Also; they ate affiliated with Mr. TIRE. You wont do very good there either but they will get your money. Stay clear. Its all sales poor work and no integrity. But hey; thats just my opinion. Go to Warren. They have a heart there

This young man named marchello was so kind and helpful.. I was in a bind needing brake work and was so stressed emotional w a lot of people counting on me to have a car.. he was so sweet and kind listening to me and doing everything he could to help.. he was able to help me work it out with price and get it done. His boss Tony is also a good guy he is who I usually deal with. It was at 980centralave in colonie near McDonalds.. I highly recommend this location and these guys. They are great!!!! In fact I posted on Facebook immediately after which I dont usually do but they deserve recognition.

On 12/20/24 my car broke down near Monro . Brandon was super helpful navigating the car through heavy traffic to the shop. Battery, an alternator and belt were installed for $ 1,517. before taxes. The explanation for the high cost was mark up on parts. Monro doubles what they buy parts for, so beware. Alternator charge was, $789 and battery $250.

Tony will take care of you, I needed my break pads and rotor replaced and he did it with by far the best price in the capitol region - will be going back and highly recommend you get serviced here

I usually take my car to Guilderland Monro, but they told me their inspection machine was out of order, so I brought my car to this Monro location. After a brief look at my car, they said that the ball joint on the upper left fork, which I had replaced three months ago at Guilderland Monro, was broken and needed to be replaced entirely. They also claimed my front brakes were worn out, so my car couldn t pass inspection. They tried to give me a bill for $1200. I explained that the part was recently replaced and couldn t be broken, and asked them to check my service records. After that, they reduced the price and tried to charge me $1000, telling me they called Guilderland Monro but the manager there wouldn t share my information, so I d have to go there to get it myself. As I was leaving, they made a strange comment, saying, Please don t take it personally, I don t know the manager at Guilderland, not sure why he didn t share your information. I went to Guilderland Monro, got my past service records in 10 seconds , and then took my car to another shop Hackel s. I told the mechanic there what happened. He put my car on the lift, checked the supposedly broken part, and tightened a loose nut in three seconds. Magically, the part was no longer broken. This mechanic saved me from getting scammed out of $1200 by Monro. I don t remember the name of the Monro employee who tried to do this, but he was an African American male, about 5 10 feet tall, with an afro hairstyle.

Had all tires replaced & alignment done in less than a hour. GREAT TEAM @Albany, Central Ave. Knowledgeable, efficient, and no B.S. Thank you Tony and the team for keeping my car safe and reliable :-)

Usually prefer this place but came here 2 days in a row, WITH AN APPOINTMENT, and was told it would take several hours for a state inspection. Nothing offered in terms of an apology or compensation for poor time management and communication on their end. They lost a valued customer I m afraid.

Customer service is varied. My only complaint is I had a coupon for a $40.00 oil change. Because the staff member was not versed enough in using a computer he didnt know how to give me credit for the coupon, and the manager was out having breakfast!. So instead of paying $40 for an oil change I was charged $87.

This shop is amazing. Every time I come here, the staff is friendly and welcoming. Today, I came in ten minutes after opening for a nail in my tire. They had me in and out in less than 20 minutes (which I am sure is due to how early I was, but the attention to the urgency of my situation was not lost on me). It was extremely important for me to have this repair made, and the staff that took care of me exemplified expedient, attentive service. 10/10 will be back.

I recently had a new alternator installed on my 96 Buick - DeShawn Williams the store manager took great care and met all my needs. The service technician did an excellent job in installing my new alternator. Im a repeat customer and Ill be back for service. I highly recommend Monro Auto Service Center for all of your automotive needs.

Temperatures are in the mid 90s, humidity is at 100%, and these guys went the extra mile to get my car serviced and back on the road. These guys were professional, helpful, and took very good care of their customer!

06/21/2024 update: AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Tried to scam me $700+ for services they did not perform. i made an appointment to drop my car off on Tuesday, 6/18 to get my AC system fixed and an alignment/tire rotation. On 06/20, I call and Tony tells me that their AC machine doesn t work and he could take the car to a different shop to get it fixed and gave me a quote of ~$300. On 6/21, I call and they say it ll be ready for pick up by end of the day. I show up and they try to charge me more than twice the amount quoted. After I question the charges, they show me a list of repairs I did not agree to. After a second call to the technician or someone, they just give me my key back and tell me NONE of the things quoted or asked for have been done. This shop tried to charge me almost a grand for services they did not complete and did not have the courtesy to at least call and tell me that the service I asked for was not available. I wasted three days leaving my car here when I could ve had the work done elsewhere, had this shop been honest. OLD REVIEW: I am very happy with the level of care this team showed to my concerns about my vehicle. They were able to get me in without an appointment. They checked everything I was concerned about and went above and beyond the expectations. I really appreciate the transparency they provided. I will be returning to this location for future vehicle maintenance. Thank you!

Got serviced pretty quick for a walk-in after stopping at a few others. They had my tires in stock and did oil change at the same time. Call ahead to confirm recommended, tho there seems to be a few repair shops in the area, if you need to shop around.

Tony saved me a ton of money and took the time to show me why certain parts and labor was needed to repair my vehicle. If you talk to Ender you will see that he knows his stuff too. The young lady working there was a huge help as well. Sorry Im terrible with names. But go see for yourself. You will see a professional shop. I am extremely surprised, in a very unfortunate way, that this particular auto shop is even allowed to represent the Monro brand, because I have only had positive impressions and experiences at other Monro auto service shops in the past. There is no other way to describe my experience here other than to say that this place is a very shady scam operation, because of their extremely poor business ethics. If youre thinking about fixing your car at this place, beware that you might just get scammed, particularly by the manager named Tony who neither seem to know nor care about what they are supposed to be doing under the Monro auto service brand. The experience here that completely shattered any and all prior positive impressions that I had about Monro began when I walked into their shop shortly before 12 pm on Friday 5/17 for help, because my car had shut down completely on its own while it was still being driven nearby, incidentally. The responding technician whose name is Jeremy seemed professional and helpful when he came out to jumpstart my car in order to bring it into their shop. But that turned out to be the only bright spot of the overall experience. From that point onward, the series of extremely unfortunate events included the misdiagnosis and wrongful replacement of parts which, despite costing more than $1,300, not only failed to fix the main problem that the car went into this shop with but also caused apparent new problems, in particular to the handling of the steering wheel, because a mysterious loud screeching noise started to appear seemingly from somewhere in the steering column every time when I turned the steering wheel only after I had left their shop that evening. To make matters even worse on top of it all, the unprofessional and shady behavior of Tony the manager, who together with Marcellus refused to even issue a refund in handling the consequence of their misdiagnosis and misreplacement of parts, proved to be the final nail in the coffin that completely lost my trust in Monro being capable of having competent and honest people upholding the reputation of its brand name. When I called on Friday evening and then again the next morning in attempts to resolve this amicably, the manager hid from me, and instead pushed his staff Marcellus to the fore to hem and haw for him. When Marcellus questioned the fact that my car had even shut down when being driven on highway I-90, while still in the vicinity of Albany, and had to be towed from roadside soon after I had left their shop Friday evening, I repeatedly offered to prove it to them by sending them a copy of my towing receipt as evidence. But strangely, he kept refusing my offer to send them the evidence. In response to even my requests to speak directly to the manager, Marcellus kept deflecting, even though he promised by the end of the call that the manager would return my call on the same day. He never did, even nearly 3 days later as of this writing. Even while on the phone, after the unbelievably bad outcome from the so-called service that I had received at this place and the managers unprofessional, discourteous, disrespectful, and irresponsible attitude towards handling my initial complaint and attempt to resolve the outcome in an amicable way, they had lost my trust. I let him know that I was not comfortable taking the risk of letting them touch my car anymore, and would need to take my car to another place that is more familiar with how to diagnose and fix my Acura. My understanding has always been that a manager represents not only himself, but more importantly his entire team and the company whose brand name is on the shop. How could any company win and maintain trust and confidence from the public when the manager it selected to lead its store runs away from even directly communicating with customers to address their complaints, hems and haws to evade accountability together with his crew, and shows such jarring lack of professionalism, respect, responsibility, and leadership?

Five s basically never come from me. Here is why Monro Auto Service and Tire Center in Albany , NY, specifically the manager Tony C and the Master Technician Josh. I met Tony C yesterday, and he told me is background. He mentioned Firestone, who I have a long positive history with back in my home state. He knew Firestone regional management who I know. A good start. Tony C is polite, courteous, friendly, up front, honest and helpful. Josh is humble when it comes to his technical ability and knowledge. A true sign of a master. He figured out the problem with my car just from me explaining in detail what was join on. Tony C and Josh are going above and beyond. The part that is needed to fix my car will not be delivered until early tomorrow morning. Knowing I need to be 90 minutes east of Albany before noon tomorrow (Saturday) they ve are going in early so they are there before the part is and get the car finished in time fire me to get where I need to go. I forgot the other technician name. His dumb idea worked to get my car that was not running and would not shift into neutral into the repair bay. As I told him, sometimes dumb works. I have found my new auto repair shop.

Absolutely unprofessional. I was told that I had to leave my car for inspection for a day even though I had an appointment. Then, while I was discussing why that wasnt told while getting the appointment, one of the workers just said have a great day and get out very rudely. While I was leaving he also asked other customers who are waiting if anyone else wants to have them hard time. I would just suggest look for another place where you can get professional service.

They dont understand how an appointment works. Made an appointment for an inspection, which takes like 15 mins. They asked us to leave the car for the WHOLE DAY. They were very rude and pretended like we were at fault for this. They never mentioned this when we were making the appointment (otherwise we would go to another place or come prepared). Dont trust this place. I would never go back.

I wish I could give negative rating. I called up and took an appointment for tire swap and initially I was told that the work will be done as soon as I drop the vehicle. Then they said there are two vehicles ahead and mine will be done in two hours time. After waiting for 6 hours I called up and asked for the estimated time. My car still not been attended. Just for asking the estimated time, the manager of this place asked me to take my car without doing the work. Such an unprofessional attitude and they don t care for their customers. Avoid this place like plague.

I recently had an issue with my tire and was turned away by the Jeep dealer and another local shop. Tony, the manager immediately assessed the problem and took care of me. I brought my car in for an inspection after making an appointment. I was told my car failed due to my wipers even though my wipers were brand new and perfectly fine. I had to wait 3 hours and was charged 100$ and was told they didn t have time to complete an oil change.

Way too expensive.

Had to go here quickly after I had some trouble with my car and all of the staff was so kind and attentive to my car. The manager was extremely kind and generous and made sure everything was in working order. If you ever need service please stop at this Monro.

Monro is a great place to take your car for any fix you might need. I needed my car looked at immediately and they were able to accommodate me even though I did not have an appointment. Knowledgeable staff and very welcoming.

These people are experts at what they do and they operate with integrity and tell it to you straight. I highly recommend this place to anyone who needs their vehicle serviced or fixed. These are some great folks who dont take advantage of you or your wallet.

I HIGHLY recommend that you DO NOT GO HERE. Went in for an inspection with my 2020 Rogue and they tried to tell me i needed $900 worth of repairs and refused to pass it for inspection. They even took off the inspection sticker to make me feel obligated to get the repairs from them. I got a second opinion from a different mechanic that passed it immediately without any concerns. They WILL TRY TO MILK YOU. Complete scam artists. Will never go here again.

Manager/staff are honest and will tell you exactly what you need. Their queue can get backed up so just communicate to them when you can expect to have the car back. I recently went to depaula for service and they couldnt even stick to the date in which i made an appointment. This experience was much better

I wanna give monro a five Star rating they are very helpful when my tire had a slow leak and I had a nail in my tire and I need it fix they fixed it with no problem they got me in and out didnt have to wait long at all they are really good at what they do I really appreciate it

Staff were very helpful and quick with what needed to be done. Tony explained to me what they were going to do with my car and how they were going to do it. They even checked to see if my car had any other problems which was helpful. Overall, I ve always had a great experience here and would recommend this place.

This is the worst shop to get oil change done do not go their..my mom got her oil change done the guy at the counter told her $95 when the car is finished they charge her $145 then told he the had to put 2 more qt off oil and walk away leave her and go to the back and never come back no matter how she call he didnt come back to talk to her
