I have had friends use Auto Cosmetics in the past, and the work I ve seen has been impeccable. When I had an unfortunate accident, the only place I wanted to touch my vehicle was Auto Cosmetics. My accident occurred on a Friday afternoon around closing time for the shop. Adam stayed late and walked through the process with be. During the entire time my vehicle was with him and his staff, I received regular updates, and they didn t sugar coat the fact that supply chain issues could affect the timeframe to get the vehicle back. I ended up getting the vehicle back sooner than we anticipated, and it looks and drives as good as it did prior to the accident. Amazing job, and I wouldn t go anywhere else. I highly recommend Auto Cosmetics.

They took my car in after I was hit while not even in it. I needed a new passenger side rear door and the frame was bent so bad he told me right off the bat it would be a hard fix. Seeing my car the day I picked it up I was almost in tears. They truly are magicians, my car looks brand new again and I can t thank the boys here enough.

Auto Cosmetics exceeded my expectations! I had some right fender damage and heavy scratching along the right side of my car. They replaced the fender and painted it to an impressive color match to the aging on the rest of the car. They buffed and covered the scratches so it looks like nothing even happened! Adam and his team were very professional and great to deal with. Hopefully wont need them again, but if I do, Im going back to Auto Cosmetics!

Got my subie back yesterday and couldnt be happier! Doesnt look like anyone hit it with a U-Haul anymore, even some of the minor scratches disappeared! Adam and his staff are top notch and I would recommend Auto Cosmetics of Altamont for any body work needed. In June of 2022 I purchased a Honda Pilot that had a crack in the quarter panel. I didnt realize until after I purchased it how expensive it was going to be to fix this, not to mention the fact that every collision place I took the car to said that it would be exponentially more expensive if they opened the car up and there was additional damage. Adam took a look at it, had some pity on me, and decided to help me out. He provided me with a couple of different options and in the end I took his recommendation to do a cosmetic repair. The work was flawless! In addition, it has held up even when the temperature dropped (after getting the car the crack opened up wider when it hit November). Adam gave me a great price on the work and I walked away blessed to have found this business. I wholeheartedly recommend their shop to anyone! If ever I have additional work I need done I know I will take my vehicle to Auto Cosmetics of Altamont!

After I hit a deer I d made an appointment with the authorized shop my insurance company recommended but they couldn t even make an estimate appointment for me for 3 weeks. My brother in law recommended Altamont Auto Cosmetics instead, since he d had a very good experience with them, so I got in touch with them. They were excellent! They handled all the paperwork and fought with the insurance company when they lowballed me and they got everything I needed. They only use OEM parts and do fantastic work, they even call you when they say they re going to! They re super friendly and my car looks brand new. I couldn t recommend them more highly.

Even when there were issues with my an error message after picking the car back up, Adam was attentive in ensuring there was a resolution found quickly and immensely apologetic for the inconvenience. If necessary, he offered to drive to the dealer for me and loan me the shops car in the midterm. His demeanor is incredibly polite and professional, and he provides you with realistic breakdown of costs. He works to cut costs where possible, if the customer is paying out of pocket. Lastly-he prioritized my car repair due to my not wanting my Dad to see the damage- haha what a guy!

I need to share how amazing Adam Tafilowski, from Auto Cosmetics of Altamont is. On Monday, I was driving when all my gauges went blank and my blinkers stopped working. It was really scary to be driving with nothing working! I didn t think anyone would be open on Labor Day and if they were open I didn t think they could fit me in. I was driving on Main Street in Altamont when it happened. I saw the OPEN sign at Auto Cosmetics and I pulled in. I was pretty freaked out but Adam was fantastic!! He dropped what he was doing, calmed me down, checked out the Jeep and reset the computer. He started the Jeep and the gauges were back and the blinkers worked. Not only did he go above and beyond to help me but he wouldn t take any money!! He said, come back if you ever need work done. I absolutely will!!! Owner found time to come by my home and perform the initial estimate making the process very convenient and painless. In addition to body work the shop was able to replace my brakes and tires for nearly 50% less than was quoted by the dealership. Highly recommend vs. big collision centers. When our repair was finished, he was above board and pointed out a minute defect in our tail light we likely would not have noticed. He had called the supplier and gotten a refund for the defect, which he passed on to us. The team at Auto Cosmetic did a great job - our minivan looks as good as new. They made sure I got all brand new parts on my only 2 year old car from the manufacturer. Rob and his crew at Auto Cosmetics run the best body shop we have ever used. Hands down. End of story. We have been going to them for years and will never take our vehicles anywhere else. You dont need to know more than that, but you should. So, Ill explain. First, Rob is an absolute master at his craft. His results are never anything short of jaw-dropping. He will go out of his way -- often FAR out of his way -- to get it right. As an example, we recently brought in a brand spanking new Mazda Miata that was accidentally backed into a trailer in our driveway. The damage was minimal, but enough to warrant a fix. That said, the car and paint color are so new that it cant even be purchased for repairs yet. Even Mazda said that it would be impossible to have the work done properly! But, impossible is apparently not a word in Robs dictionary. He researched, tested and tweaked until he figured out the proper three-step process to build a perfect match. All for a small scratch and dent on a back bumper. The results are FLAWLESS. Second, Rob is passionate about both cars and his business. Just ask him to see some of his project cars! When a guy who does auto repair for a living also does auto repair as a hobby, you know he loves what he does. He treats his customers and their cars the way he would want himself and his property to be treated. Third, Rob is not afraid to invest in his business. He understands that part of customer satisfaction is having the tools and technology necessary to answer questions and meet expectations. For example, I recently wanted some custom paint done on the radiator shroud on my motorcycle. But, it had to match some existing paint on the bike exactly. Rob used a very expensive piece of color matching equipment that he had purchased to formulate the color. They are a dead on match. Finally, Rob is fair. His pricing is more than fair for what you get, and you often get more than you pay for. Given his meticulous eye, high standards and commitment to customer satisfaction, all the work weve had done at Auto Cosmetics literally defines the word VALUE. As a business owner myself, it is easy for me to recognize and appreciate these things, and I could not possibly recommend Rob and Auto Cosmetics of Albany any more highly. I had the unfortunate luck of hitting a buck on I-88 two weeks ago, and needless to say, my car was in bad shape. I was devastated since it was my first new car purchase. Im not originally from the area, so a friend referred me to Auto Cosmetics. From the very first phone call with Rob, I knew I was in good hands. He helped me with EVERYTHING, from what to expect from my insurance company, to getting myself into a rental car right on site. Exactly a week later, I was rear-ended in the rental! I called him the very next day, and yet again, he helped me through the entire process with the rental company. Luckily he also gave me printed copies of the rental agreement, which proved very useful at the time of the accident. These last two weeks could have been unbearable, but they turned out to be hassle free. I just got my car back and the work is phenomenal! They even washed it so my car looks just as is did sitting in the lot on day one, pearl white paint and all! If you live in Altamont or Guilderland, chances are you know this quaint little shop right across from the Altamont Fairgrounds entrance. If you dont, go make the drive and check it out. Its not a giant imposing steel pole barn like youd expect. Fitting right in with the small businesses surrounding it, the place is speckled with some memorabilia of the old days of motoring. Very charming. More importantly than that, the knowledge and hobbies of the staff reflect, and result in, their attention to detail and caring stewardship over the projects that come in the door. The bottom line is that everyone that works there knows that, most likely, your car is your baby, as cliched as that sounds.
