Do not ever take your car here! They did my transmission 2 years ago took it back to them 2weeks ago.he said I need another new transmission in my car.told him just leave it alone took it to someone else and the place said it was a bolt that got jammed in transmission cost me $300 AAmco was ready to charge me $5,000 for reman transmission.these ppl are unreal now im thinking the 1st time I took it there it didn t need new transmission.they are crooks place should be ashamed of themselves.definitely said I need a new transmission clear as day on the phone thats the reason I didn t let you guys do the work I wasn t putting another transmission in it after I did it 2,000 miles ago .i don t like being called a liar.so I took it for a 2nd opinion and the guy said it was nothing bolt was jammed in it.your guy said the transmission is ceased and need a new one.when im wrong i say im wrong you guys can t admit you guys tried to scam me.and it was a 1989 mustang don t even know what year it is.and you guys should call me with a apology not me call you guys

Great experience. Had a ford warrantee transmission installed a few years ago and the unit started failing a week before the warrantee expired. The shop was diligent with getting the situation resolved before expiration. Ford wouldnt honor without the original receipt from the shop. He had to dig through his records manually and he found it. Took ford a week to send unit and it took the shop less than 24 hours to install, program and have me back on the road! Thank you

they may be good but i didn t have a good experience

I really want to Thank Nick and Pat from the Amityville AAMCO. I had a very difficult transmission issue, the big problem was with this transmission, many of the parts were either on back order or not even made anymore. Nick looked high and low for parts, tried multiple transmissions, called in special techs and worked for months to try and get the job done, but nothing worked. While this was not the outcome I was hoping for, the Amityville AAMCO team honored the warranty 100%. Nick and Pat were in constant communication with me and kept me up to date regarding the entire process. I hope I never have another transmission issue ever again, but if I do, I will 100% use this AAMCO team. If you have a transmissions issue, know that this team will be honest, they will communicate with your, they will explain things so you can understand them and will make your experience a pleasant as possible.

Brought my van back here for check-up after transmission was replaced. Took them exactly the amount of estimated time as they tell you. For me it was 15-20 minutes. Now I can go about my day. Excellent and friendly service. Also while I was here.. I noticed they have an associate who can translate Spanish from customers for those who cannot speak English as fluently. It was very great to know they didnt turn them down for help!

My daughter and I took her 2006 Honda CRV to get diagnosed for a transmission problem. It turns out it wasnt the transmission but the brakes. They offered to fix the brakes at a reasonable price but I declined knowing I could do the job myself for less. I was very surprised and pleased to find out they werent even going to charge me a diagnostic fee. This is the second time Ive been at the shop and both times all the workers were very patient and professional . I will definitely consider this shop for any of my automotive needs in the future.

I had a transmission light come up. But when I would turn my car off they light would go away. Took it to Honda dealership and they said without a light they couldnt do anything about it. Brought it to AAMCO Transmissions at amityville and they made me feel like my car was top priority! They found the issue and dealt with it right away. I was talking with the owner/manger she was very polite with deal with my situation then the next thing I know there is the RUDE GUY that come on the phone first off he never stated his name or said hello as if we was on the phone prior to this ok when someone is call about they transmission that don t want to hear u beginning RUDE number on rule in customer service KNOW HOW TO TREAT CUSTOMERS okay then he is asking me what was the price dodge gave me I don t think that s any of your business so u can charge me more then I told him that s not why I m calling instead of u beginning nasty I don t have to do business with this company aamco is a no go I glad this happened bc this only tell me one thing it wouldn t had been good what so every he just lost a customer do to his rudeness and getting a review on how he talk to customers I don t have to spend my money with a place like this y all better run they don t deserve people money .

Dropped my car off this morning without an appointment and the folks over at Aamco were still able to get the work done for me within the day, thanks again!

I went for a oil change and check fill the transmission fluid. Oil change was twice the price of competition. The called and said they couldn t check the transmission fluid first. After a second call they said they were able to do it and but there was a broken part but it was full. After getting back home I checked it again and it was low. Transmission had a slip due to the low fluid. Stopped once filled they didn t even reset the change oil light. I called and told them about it. Service manger said I m trying to pull something and that the conversation was recorded. All I wanted was a oil change and transmission fluid checked can t make this stuff up..

If I could give zero stars I would. Everyone is clueless here. I brought my car in for a jerking... almost a week later and a number of tests done I ended up paying $500 for a new gas cap that should have been $30. I called every day with no new news. Very frustrating and it seems no one knows what they are doing. That goes for management too.

So glad I got a second opinion!! Noticed my car was not driving right, took to the dealer. I was not only informed my warranty expired 3,000 miles ago but I needed a new radiator and transmission?!. Thankfully we brought it to AAMCO for a second opinion. Turns out I needed a new condenser. We had that replaced and refilled transmission. Only driving the vehicle would tell if damage had been done to the transmission. Truck is driving great. I ve never come across such an honest shop. They don t push anything you. They diagnose and fix the problem. I would definitely recommend this shop, Nicholas the General Manger is great, knowledgeable and friendly.

The service manager Nicholas is really great. I left my car overnight with their lockbox for the keys, which was super convenient. They are honest and thoroughly diagnose your transmission at no cost. I wanted a second opinion on my old crown vics transmission (I was told it was done for), so I took it here and lucky for me there was actually nothing wrong with it. Nicholas did not try to cheat me into services I didnt need, which is refreshing for this industry. I would recommend this shop to anyone, and would use them should my car need transmission care.

If I could give no stars I would . Worst customer service I ve ever received in my whole entire life . Should ve known it was a red flag when I walked inside and no one was at the desk . I stood there for at least 5 min yelling hello and no one answered so my boyfriend called the store and someone finally answered. I spoke to the people and everything went smooth I dropped off the car and called three hours later just checking the car status so I can know when to pick it up and no one answered and I proceeded to call 3 more times and no one answered and after the 4th call a lady answered and I told her I had been calling and she yelled on the phone saying you won t have your car ready in 3 hours and repeated it again and I was shocked that this lady yelled at me after not even answering the phone the first few times and I am truly disgusted by this customer service and don t recommend ever coming here . I came to picked up my car and the guy (nickalous the manager) had an attitude when their customer service was yelling at me . Never again

I have nothing but great things to say about this place. Brought my Jeep in the morning and despite a heavy workload I was notified that afternoon the problem. And boy was it ever a problem. Pretty much the whole transmission went kaplooey. Lines rotted. Gears smashed. Even the computer was getting beat up. Nicholas gave me a detailed assessment and soon sent a work order to my email. It was tough job and required many parts as well as labor. Had no issues getting updates and if I called I got the dispatch to send Nicholas a message to call me. Wonderful service and patient especially considering the taxing situation for myself. Went through everything with a fine tooth comb and fixed issues along the way. For what had been a down payment on a used car I was able to get my Jeep back on the road with a new lease on life. Highly recommend. Will do business with them for here on out.

First, I live in Brooklyn. I decided to travel out to Amityville because of the reviews even though there are several AAMCO Stations closer. I was having an issue with my pickup getting stuck in park. The technician was finally able to duplicate what was happening and cleaned up a part covered from years of dust. Also checked the parking linkage. They also informed me of a oil pan leak. Thank goodness I had an extended warranty to help with my delimmas. The staff was very nice and Mr. Nicolas ( dont know his last name...lol sorry sir) was very patient and understanding. I needed to get my truck back on the road. Theyre good folks over there. Thanks guys....

Respectful and reliable

I brought my car to amco transmission to have a fluid change and filter change I was told by the manager that my transmission needed to be rebuilt I was Told that My transmission Rebuild would be about a week and $2800 labor $2800 For the rebuild Kit a week later I picked up my car and on my invoice it said certified prion transmission so my transmission that was in my car was not rebuilt and I was charged 2800 for labor for a transmission that was not rebuilt now my transmission skips and wines are we turning it back I left there shop and within 10 minutes I had a bunch of lights on my dashboard I feel like I was taking advantage and basically robbed I was told that my transmission was going to be rebuilt and it wasnt for all I know it was bought at a junkyard not knowing how many miles are on it and it leaks

I brought my car to them and they was wonderful everything worked out fine always checked on me to make sure everything was good. Excellent service

They wanted $6,000 $4,500 to do the transmission and 1500 to change my oil cooling unit absolutely insane went there and seen my car in the back dont even think they brought it in to look at it just gave me that insane quote never again thanks for nothing!

We came to Amco transmission because our neighbor recommended them to my husband and boy am I happy. We had the transmission in our vehicle rebuilt at another shop about a year ago and since day one it never felt right, we went back multiple times to complain but always got the run around finally the transmission gave out and wouldnt you know it we were out of warranty. After hearing our sob story Nicholas the manager and Pat the owner assured us that they would fix our transmission right the first time in the most cost effective way possible and boy did they deliver since the moment I picked up my car I knew right away that it was fixed right and driving better than I ever remembered thank you to Nicholas Pat and crew you have a customer for life and I will recommend all my friends and family 10 Stars.

Went to get a quote there, it was the highest quote by far and with the possibility of it going higher , they tested the truck by flooring the engine while stationary and putting it into gear repeatedly at high revs, this is how you break a transmission, they are crooks plain and simple

When I arrived at amico open at amico I was greeted by Nick who helped me with my 2015 Chevy suburban transmission Everything he told me Was on the money I came back after 10 days and they greeted me with a smile and and did my check up greycock

My truck was making a knocking noise everytime I put it in gear and I thought it was my transmission, So I took it to AAMCO for the free 10 point check. Low and behold Nick the general manger found it wasnt my transmission it was my U joints. Nick went out of his way to get my U joints.... for my truck is a 2004 avalanche. He tried everything to get it back to me on Friday however I give him a 5+ because on Saturday I got my truck back and its running like it did when I first got it. A Big double thumbs up for Nick and his shop AAMCO
