I had to pick some things up from the Dominic Dr Ballston Spa store today and to be honest, other than Tom at the Clifton Park store, I usually don't get such helpful and friendly service at other auto parts stores. Today Bryan D, and Chris T were not only welcoming and really friendly, but both also very helpful. They both took the time to help me figure out exactly which fluids were correct for my car, not just telling me what the computer listed after I threw some confusion at them. These two (as well as Tom in c.p.) are perfect examples of what a customer should encounter when visiting these stores, or any store for that matter. Aside from that, they also helped me save a few bucks by helping me put together an oil change package special. Thanks guys, pat on the back from me and I hope management reads these reviews.
I use to shop here, but after today I no longer will. Stopped in for wiper blades, the employees, both said that blades for my car are a difficult fit and not easy to find. They told me to go to Napa and I did, employees at Napa were dumbfounded that Advance said they were a hard fit/ find.. Less that 15 minutes later ,out the door new blades installed, fit perfect and work great. The brand that I bought is sold eveverywhere, nothing special, not a problem.
Don’t deserve any stars. Stew was the only employee in the store. While 7 people were waiting to be checked out Stew thought it was a good idea to keep answering the phone. In the future Stew try ringing out the paying customers before picking up that phone. Don’t see Stew making it much longer.
Zack who work's there waited on us and was very helpful showing & locating us in what we was looking for in the store. A big thank you too him and he was pleasant to talk to as well.Great customer service and would go back there again. They are next door by Dollar General and easy too find.
Never had an issue with the store. Can always find what I need and am in and out super quick. The guys that work here seem super helpful. The last time I was here I was in the parking lot installing new wipers and the guy from behind the desk came out and ask it if I needed any help.

They had the battery clamps I needed at the ballston spa store in stock !! Why dont the others have them in stock after all millions of autos use the same clamps how do you tell the customers you cant fix there auto because of no parts available. Went in for rear wiper for my Chevy. Needed 13-N wiper. BSpa store didnt have one, but did have one delivered the following day by the Saratoga store. (Prepaid for it). Stopped by to get it and it was the wrong wiper- 13-1. This is the 3rd time trying to get this wiper. Wth! Can Amazon or Advanced Auto please get it straight?! I cant keep using the gas $$ to pick up and return these all the time!

$10 for a quart of oil. Doesnt matter which brand you want, theyre $10 across the board. Premium oil is even more. No thanks. Oil is $3 a quart at the dollar general 50 feet away.

Website offers curbside pickup, but the whole store refused to perform action and tried to rip customers off by not completing the order. Either new management or new employees.

None of your employees wear masks. Ok, one does, but only around his chin. I came in a month ago and thought I would give the benefit of the doubt from that experience (also when lead wasnt wearing one). This time, one of their employees came out from behind the counter, no mask on, stood right next to me to get something off the shelf. Your management needs to do better. (The other 2 employees were not wearing either)

Tried to get refund on gift card that I purchased for a Christmas a gift that I decided I didnt need , l had reciept and guess what they refused to refund unbelievable need to beware BAD customer services nothing on receipt saying no refunds I will not buy from them again.

Had to return brake pads. They were quick and didnt offer any problems or delays.
I had a great experience at this store. My daughters car was not running right and the check engine light was on. It was 2pm on a Sunday. The store clerk quickly and easily let me use the diagnosis tool in exchange for holding my drivers license. I asked for a an expensive part that I thought would fix the problem (as recommended by a Google search)....the store clerk advised me that I should try to replace the spark plug wires first because they are inexpensive and are often the cause of the error code. The wires only cost $35.00 and once I installed the wires, the car runs perfect and the the CEL stayed off. Thank you. Eric Farbent

I award you 1 star for the retention of the military discount that I know is pretty much optional for any retail outlet. Plus 1 for the condition of the store and good inventory. We all know and love the local chain of Advance Auto stores. However, I beg the regional manager to see reason and allow his employees to utilize all the tools available to them. Ive seen it a hundred times. People _in_need_ show up to your store with a 15 year old car that has clearly been neglected. A few sensors would probably fix it to a driveable point but all the employees have been told for the last 20 years that its illegal to reset codes with the store-use diagnostic tool. LIE. So, when they get every code the car can store in PROM the counter-jockeys have to throw up their hands and sell them every part they can afford. In the last instance I witnessed this resulted in the owners abandoning the vehicle in a mutually agreed spot in the parking lot (so that was nice, anyway). Well, I can only ask that you follow the instructions that are supplied with every OBD-II tool. Just do the reset, run it around the block and see what sticks. Sell the vital parts that are needed, boils down to being a human with compassion. These people need to get to wherever they are going too. * I spent the last few hours perusing the NY Environmental and Traffic Law. No statute referenced limitations on diagnostic tools used on vehicles requiring emission testing. The test procedure itself runs a readiness test to ensure proper operation of all emission control functions. PS I await any response or indication of policy change. I will be watching!
