I just had my 2015 truck serviced by Jims Service. I personally went under my truck to see where the oil was leaking. I couldn't find where but noticed a lot of oil all over the place. I was expecting a large repair and it just ended up being a faulty oil filter. Definitely will use them again for all of my repairs. Thank you!
Had to get 4 tires mounted and balanced. Charged twice the amount anywhere else. Front end customer service employees were great. Extremely polite and helpful in fitting me in. However when I asked a question on why the price was so much the owner was down right rude and obnoxious. Making the comment "well I'm not Mavis." Obviously that's why Mavis is busy and can't fit me in and you have time. They know how to treat and appreciate their customers unlike yourself. Thanks for the help but there will not be any repeat service from me.
This shop is great. Jim's has taken care of our family's vehicles for over 40 years. Always great service, honest work and you can trust the price is right. This is an easy recommendation.
I had an alternator put in not only was I over charged for the part it costs $200 dollars they charged $325. They probably overcharged for the other parts too. Not to mention because i used a card an extra 4% tax on top of the bill that included everything plus tax Huge ripoff then four days later I was broke down the alternator fried my battery. I Had to spend more money on a battery and have someone else put a new alternator in. I called them Saturday here it is Tuesday no call back. I had to call them again all I got from them was an ok.
I purchased two tires from Jim's on July 30th, 2021. I have a regular garage/mechanic that I have been doing business with since 2005, but I was on my way out of town, and had brought a friend to pick his car up at Jim's, when they pointed out that my inspection was expiring the next day, and that my front tires wouldn't pass inspection (I knew I needed new ones). As I said, I have my own garage/mechanic, but I had my car packed and ready to go out of town, so I was impressed that he was able to get me in right away. On December 8th, my right front tire went flat, I called AAA, they put the donut on the car for me, and I took the tire back to Jim's to have him check and see what could have possibly caused the tire to go flat. I figured it should have a warranty on it since it wasn't even six months old. They told me they would put air in it and check it out and give me a call, that was on Wednesday afternoon, no call on Thursday, finally, I called them on Friday, they said they put 40 PSI air in it and it was still holding the air, I asked if I could come in and they could put the tire back on the car, they said they were very busy, I asked about coming in the next day and they said they were closed on the weekends and to come in on Monday morning at 10:30. I went in at 10:30 Monday morning, and they said they had no idea why the tire went flat. They put the tire back on the car and handed me a bill for $52.30 for labor for putting the tire on the car, and sent me on my way.. I wouldn't think that there would be a charge to put the tire back on the car, especially since the tire was purchased from them, less than six months prior to it going flat. I went to the garage that I have been going to (and should have went to this time) and asked them if someone bought tires from them, and one went flat, would they charge to check the tire, and put it back on the car, and they said "absolutely NOT". I will NOT do business with Jim's garage again, nor will I recommend it to anyone. I was disappointed, because I had heard good things about them. Live and learn I guess. They will not get my business again.😡
I highly recommend not going here. Used them since they were close to where I got a fast tire leak and needed a plug. Extremely rude and I can see them taking advantage of people who don’t know better. When putting the tire back on I watched them impact it on without starting the threads by hand first. Was doing another service 2 weeks later and it turns out the one tire that serviced they managed to cross thread on. Called and explained the situation and booked appointment to fix the studs. Service manager was out and employees did not fix it because I came in under the impression it would be a free repair. Never called me back like they said they where. Showed up a few days later and the manager firmly told me no and denies my claim, sounded like the employee who did was told to tell me he didn’t do it. Don’t let these scammers work on your vehicles.
The best place to take your vehicles. I have taken two cars here for inspections. This shop is very thorough and honest. I have gotten light maintenance done with them and both times the job was done flawlessly. Rather than trying to sell you expensive repairs they focus on the main issues and always educate you on the specifics. This the only place I trust for accurate reports on the cars I buy.
Great service, had a bad rear caliper, rotors, and brakes replaced. All done in a timely manner.

Sign says no appointment needed for an inspection yet they wont do an inspection without an appointment inspection takes 10 minutes
I ve been bringing all my vehicles in for a couple years now but today will be the last day I ever make an appointment here, mechanic that I ve never even seen before was rude and unprofessional, take your vehicles else where

These people are so nasty bad attitudes especially the skinny guy with gray hair had the nerve to point at me when I went to Nys inspection and was refused I pointed to sign in front which stated Nys inspection and oil change no appointment needed he pointed at me like I was his son Im a 68 year old man and deserve respect, only wish that skinny twerp runs into wrong person some day and the mechanic I believe Jason is lazy and also needs an attitude adjustment.

Classic example of a shady bunch of mechanics. Charged me twice to have my vehicle diagnosed and still couldnt fix the problem. $600 later and my vehicle is throwing codes and will not pass inspection. Beware.

I was refered here by another mechanic for an inspection. I had an appointment and when I came in and greeted 3 different men I was completely ignored..yet a male custome who came in right afterr was greeted right away and with respect. Its clear they do not care how their customers feel. I ended up leaving due to the inspector telling me hes not passing me. Went down the road and had no issue getting my car inspected and with respect I would not recommend this shop for anything.

Had 2 vehicles brought here 1 was my girlfriends car that we were trying to get up to passing inspection and after roughly 450$ of work it still was not able to pass. They had missed issues that I was able to diagnose myself and fix and stole tools out of the vehicle. Also had my car taken in to fix the radiator on it and they said they needed about a quart of coolant for the repair. I happened to have a 5 qt bottle in my vehicle with about 3 and a half qts left so I told them to use that. Not only did all 3 and a half qts go missing but they also charged me for the coolant. Would not recommend going here.

The pandemic has been going on for almost a year and there are more cases locally than there have ever been yet none of the employees at Jims Service Center are wearing masks. They come into the lobby and deal with customers and are not wearing masks at all. I felt very uncomfortable and unsafe being there. They are in direct violation of NY Public Health Law 66-3.2. Because of the complete lack of respect for their customers safety that the employees of Jims Service Center have shown, I will never be back. Even after the pandemic, I will take my car elsewhere.

Weve have multiple car problems between the both of our cars and no matter what it was theyve always got it done quickly. They have impeccable customer service and they are very friendly. Went here knowing full well my car was going to fail inspection, expecting to work my way towards it passing. They came back to me telling me what failed my car, charged me for my oil change and failed inspection, and was ready to let me walk out the door. They didnt check on my fuel filter like I asked. No plan of action, no possible resolutions, no do you want to set another appointment, AND NO TELLING ME THEY TOOK MY INSPECTION STICKER. I understand it failed. I understand youre supposed to take it. But you just lost a customer who would have been back not only for the repairs, but maintenance as well, because you didnt have the decency to try to work with me. Because you didnt care at ALL. Just pay and get out basically. Horrible customer service, didnt offer up anything! I had to ask a hundred questions just to get an answer! Oh AND he was talking smack as I walked out even though I wasnt being rude at all.

I had a slow tire leak in a used car recently purchased from New car dealer. They tried on 3 occasions but couldn t find problem. The staff at Jim s found problem ( rim corrosion) and had it repaired in 20 minutes. I was very pleased. I ll be back.

My boyfriend brought my 2013 Subaru Impreza here to get an oil change done and it ended up costing over $80! When my boyfriend went to ask about the price they were too busy to talk with him! I have never paid over $40 for an oil change his prices are outrageous!
Typical highway robbery.... Failed inspection due to Communication: Fail. I stopped at another shop a few streets down, and passed without a problem. When I called less that 24 hours later to ask for my $21 refund their response was no, call NYS
i went to another shop for NYS inspection where i was told i needed $831 worth of new shocks to pass. i brought my car to jims for a second opinion (and to do the job if needed) and no leaking shocks were found, or other issue that would cause my vehicle to fail inspection. i got my inspection done and concluded the other shop was trying to scam me for unnecessary repairs. jims service center would never do that and i highly recommend them for their HONESTY, INTEGRITY AND SERVICE. (my husband had significant work done on a 10 year old vehicle last year and the repairs were done in a timely manner and at a reasonable cost.)
