I was from out of town had a borrowed car that started flashing lights about air pressure the first time and then about some kind of navigation parking thing I couldn’t figure it out. I was panicked. I pulled in there as it was near where I was staying and the owner came out and took care of me, no charge, fixed everything. He did a great job and he alleviated my anxiety and told me I was fine with the car driving it as I was driving around the area, I would highly recommend him , I know others in town they go to him and they think that he does a fantastic job. He would definitely be my hometown Mechanic if I lived in the spa.
Had oil leak fixed and parts replaced that were saturated in oil. My temp gauge was going up a day or two after so I topped off coolant. Soon after my engine was overheating after starting the car. Turns out when they did the work they never double checked the large coolant hose that may have been in the way when doing the work before. I sent pictures and videos to their email after calling and being told to get it towed to them. I managed to figure out that the linchpin wasn’t set or double checked before they returned the car and caused me to break down in Clifton park and walk to a nearby gas station twice to fix the problem. I received no response to the evidence I provided nor did I receive any call back. Anyone doing cars for as long as them would know what the problem was as I described it in detail and with the pictures and videos. I should add my opinions here, that I believe they are at fault because I had no coolant problem before and the hose that was completely disconnected is directly next to the oil filter. There was no damage to the hose, fitting, or pin. It may have been disconnected for easier access. I’m leaving this review because Andre didn’t take any responsibility for it, nor did he even offer a “my bad”. He’s also not a very agreeable person and exaggerated how long the car had been done before in an attempt to make me feel some way for paying for the work 3 days after I was done.
This was my 6th year in a row bringing my Mercedes here. When I read that management/ownership had changed I was a little reluctant to go back again but I had always been satisfied with the service. I was only scheduled for an inspection and an oil change. I had the 1st appointment of the morning, 8:30 a.m. The mechanics were late coming to work. Strike one. The inspection cost $21.00. The oil change $220. Wow. They said oil was $15 per quart and the filter $15 + $60 labor. Again, wow. When I was a mile down the road, I noticed smoke coming from under the hood. I turned around and went back. When opening the hood, there was oil on the exhaust manifold, the alternator and the engine block. They tried to say that the seal on the oil filler cap was bad. It wasn't. Strike 2. They either didn't tighten the cap or poured oil on the engine when refilling with oil. They cleaned oil off the engine with a spray (but some still remained). A cardinal rule of oil change is to always, always check for leaks when finished. They obviously didn't. Strike 3. While they did take responsibility for the error, I find this to be substandard work and for that amount of money, I could have gone to Jiffy Lube for 1/2 the price and a quicker and more professional job. I'm sorry to say that I won't return next year.
Referred to Quality Foreign by a friend. Andrea and his team did not disappoint. He is a friendly, honest, businessman. He took care of my vehicles and they are running much better. Good experience and satisfied customer.
I had a problem on my Porsche Cayman with a oil level sensor. When I called new country Porsche they wanted to charge me for parts and labor $980. When I spoke to the new owner Andre they only charged $280 for labor and $100 for the part and they had it done and installed in less then 3 hours. I thought I got a great deal and they did a GREAT job with the car !Jim
Honest and very straightforward. This is the type of mechanic I always strive to find and I’m grateful that I came across them. Everywhere else charges an arm and a leg to work on my Audi but these guys have very fair prices and do great work, highly recommend. 10/10
I didn't realize they were under new management when I scheduled my MINI oil change a couple days ago. I've been a loyal customer since I purchased my first MINI in 2015 and I've always had positive experiences. Mike was awesome and they're prices were reasonable. I just paid $198 for an oil change!!!!! $65 in labor and then the guy charged me a 4% fee for using my card. When I asked the guy if it was still Mike doing the work he actually said yes. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!
I have a Porsche Cayenne that had a major exhaust leak. I was quoted a price around 4 times higher from another repair shop. Quality fixed it for one forth the price and did an EXCELLENT job. Great, fair, friendly, honest, service. I recommend highly for any auto repair
Twenty year customer. The only shop I will take my old BMW to. Mike and Andy are real pro. I highly recommend taking your European car to them.
This is by far the best shop in the capital district. They go above and beyond. Anyone who has anything negative to say probably doesnt know a thing about cars. Update: New management is even better than the previous owner. Andre and his team got my LS430 running like brand new! They still go above and beyond expectations! Highly recommend!
Recommend to me by a friend, very pleased. Pleasant service, honest and straightforward. The cost was just as expected, and best of all top notch work. Thanks so much!,, my car rides like new again
Been going to QFCC for years, didnt know they changed ownership until they already had my car (night drop) and the damage was done. I wont go into details, but I just got fleeced and they will never see me or one of my cars again. Before taking your car, ask yourself what kind of shop doesnt believe in their work enough to give a state inspection after diagnosing and repairing a check engine light? Wanted me to drive it for a couple weeks and go somewhere else...
outstanding as always
Good mechanics are worth their weight in gold. These guys are the best.
I have been a customer of Quality Foreign Care for 10 years and have had nothing but good results.
Update - June 23: continue to use them for my Volvo - just had tires balanced and a state inspection - and now my wife s Audi (most recent was a brake job and rear suspension work). Mike and the team in the garage are great! Update - Dec 2016: Took in both cars for their service - 1st time for our new to us 2011 GLK350 and a return visit for the V50. Very convenient - dropped off both cars and came back in the afternoon and both were ready. State inspection on the GLK350 had no issues - I now I will need new tires soon; which they told me, but didnt push and offered to provide quote when I was ready. I have been taking my Volvo there for the past 3 years for regular service and a few minor repairs - they have always been honest and up front about what is and isnt needed.
Always professional and appreciate their thoroughness! Have come to trust their assessments and work done!
The inspection of my air conditioning unit went well and a small leak was reported. They are courteous and take the time to explain things to you.
I have a fleet of cars. I always send them to Quality. Their workmanship is top notch and their staff are friendly and outgoing. Ive had times when, during hectic workloads, they have accommodated me and Ive always appreciated it. They are your friend neighbors foreign car specialists.
The Quality is still very good. However, The added charge of 4% for the use of a Credit Card is too much....especially considering that you also upped the Hourly Rate to $130 from $120. Please eliminate the Credit Card Fee. I have used this company for several years and they have done a good job and fixed all kinds of things. They also have kept abreast of future required maintenance. This is much appreciated. The mgr and mechanic are excellent.
I have been going there for over 25 years and have always been satifisfied with the service.
Mike and Andy are the best! Always great service
1/26/2024 Need to edit this to make others aware. The shop is under new ownership. The oil change I got was 40 dollars more than the oil change I got 3 Months ago. Owner Lied to me and another customer about Mike and Andy still working there. They do not. This is the same place in name only. Totally different staff and pricing structure. I should of known better when they said their schedule was totally open and when there were no cars in the lot. Such a shame used to be a fantastic place for quality work.
Does anyone know where Mike and Andy went? Did they retire? Open a new shop? Giving 5 star here but that is only relevant to my services in past few years.
Should be NO STAR! This place changed management. The shop mechanics are also gone. New management looks like theyre in disarray. Had an appt, got there 10 minutes early and the shop was closed. Five minutes after, they opened shop and had no clue what my appt was for. Didnt even bother to look it up on their system or attempted to. After 5-10 minutes explaining myself that gut feeling kicked in, I trusted it and walked away. Too many red flags. Too bad, PREVIOUS ownership and shop mechanics were great. I dont know about this new one. I hope Im wrong, but so far, their actions speaks louder than words. All the best to you but this customer is moving on.
Quick turnaround time, effective diagnosis and fair pricing. Staff very pleasant
I never had a chance to visit this shop under its previous owner, so I cant speak to how it compares now to back then. BUT, I have had a chance to bring my Audi in and worked with Andre. They are great guys over there and know what they are doing. I will be going returning in the future.
It is a pleasure to do business with Mike. You need to plan ahead as they are used by many people for service. There is a reason for that. The second to last time they serviced the car the invoice reported that I would need brake work done in a few thousand miles. Months later my brake light came on, so that is what I just had them work on. This time made some additional recommendations for future work. One might be suspicious that they are trying to upsell you but in view of the fact that my brake light confirmed their warning that brake issues were a few thousand miles away it doesnt look like an upsell but rather a heads up.
Sold a vehicle to a customer up in this area, there were a few things wrong with it so she brought it to BMW. BMW quoted her $10,500 while Mike here quoted $5,000 for literally the same exact work to be done. Great prices, quality work, excellent customer service and staff. 100% quality auto mechanic!
Always happy with the service and thoughtfulness at QFCC. Very thorough with details about condition and what well need to be watching in the near future.
The mechanical work is excellent. The car runs better than it has before. Repair costs are high, but sometimes you have to pay extra to get outstanding results. Only a coupe of zonks. The car was in the shop for over 2 months. About half of that time was waiting for parts to return from rebuilders, which is not on Quality. But once all rebuilt parts were avaialbe it still took what seemed like an extraordinary long time to install them and then complete the routine seasonal tune-up services. Although the car was under a roof it was still outside for two months thus was returned quite dirty. A simple wipe down with a california duster would have be nice. When I returned home I had no horn or radio. A simple fix, just replacing a fuse that was possibly blown when electrical work was done. No big deal, just a 5 minute fix but the car should not have left the shop that way. So overall, no complaints, just praise about the work done. But a bit disappointed in the overall customer service experiance.
VERY professional, prompt, and efficient!
They are honest and don t overcharge for ticky tack stuff like the dealers do. Mike and team are a pleasure to deal with.
I had a great experience. The Quality Shop accomplished what the Audi dealership could not! Great service and expert care!
If you have a foreign car you need to go here.. Mike and the rest of the staff are amazing people.. the job is done right the first time, everytime! And your not going to beat the prices... Im never going anyplace else for my auto repairs and tune-ups.. I really cant say enough good things about thus place.. do yourself a favor and find out for yourself.. youll be so glad you did!
Professional, knowledgeable and courteous staff. Always willing to go above and beyond. A quality product, indeed. Youre in good hands with Quality Foreign Car Care!
The guys at Quality Foreign Car Care were excellent to deal with on both occasions I have dealt with them. I had My Audi R8 towed to them for a coolant repair and some other general maintenance. Repairs were done timely and the one part I had a manufacturing defect after receiving the car back and they did that repair at no cost to me. Definitely will be using them for future maintenance on my R8.
I would like to take the time and thank the Professional technicians at Quality foreign car care for outstanding skill and patients in fixing all my audi A4 oil leaks. Really good customer service and they go the extra mile in fixing your car . BEST IN THE AREA & HIGHLY RECOMMEND THANKS AGAIN
Top rate service and staff with the technical knowledge and skills to provide the best service and repair experience. Thank you again and again!
The guys at Quality Foreign Car Care do excellent work. My Audi A6 was in an accident in March and was sent to Caliber Collision in Troy for repair. After my repair was complete I got the car back and the A/C was not working. I took it back to Caliber Collision and they told me my A/C Compressor was shot and needed to be replaced. It was going to cost me $1,800 to replace. My insurance would not cover it due to it being a wear and tear component. Caliber told me we are 100% sure its your compressor. I was not confident in their analysis as my A/C was working perfectly fine before the accident. I opted to execute my right to a second opinion. I took my car to Quality Foreign Car Care, they diagnosed it and told me it was my low pressure sensor not my compressor. They told me the total price for parts and labor was going to be right around $400. After they were complete the total price was $287. They saved me money and didnt upcharge me. That screams integrity. These guys are awesome. They also did a complete A/C system inspection for piece of mind. My A/C blows nice and cold like new again. They saved me over $1,500!! If your car is in need of repair, take it to Quality Foreign Car Care.
Great service, friendly employees, they know their stuff!
Service was quick, efficient, and friendly, as it has been for well over 20 years
Always enjoyable working with Mike and the rest.
I honestly dont understand how this place has so many good reviews. My girlfirends rabbit had issues with the parking break. It was disconnected when the car came to this shop, they just had to fix it and change oil. They inspected the car and siad parking break is fine and hooked it back up. When we picked the car up, after driving for a bit we noticed the breaks were smelling bad. The problem was not fixed at all, even after we told them exactly what had to be fixed, they hooked it back up and send us out with breaks cooking. On top of that the car has been leaking oil since it came from this shop. I just had a shop I trust look at it and they said the oil plug was not put in correctly and they were sure how all the oil didnt spill out. As far as the breaks they didnt also understand how they send it us out like that. I didnt trust them at all after this so I didnt even go back to have them fix the issue again, because how could I trust them after that. I honestly never in my life and such a bad shop experience. Never going back and I feel bad for anyone that goes there.
Quality, personable service
They are honest and hardworking
Very knowledgeable!
I have used Quality Foreign for several years and have had Amazing Service until my last visit for a thermostat, serpentine belt and oil leak (which they repaired flawlessly). But they called and said my emergency brake cables were corroded and frozen and my left rear brake caliper was not releasing. I told them I can replace the caliper I asked how much to do the cables and they wanted 400$ to replace them. I told them I hadnt any issues with the e-brake and I had used the the day before. When I picked up the car and drove it home and tried to use the e-brake it would only move one click, like the adjustment was too tight. I released it and my e-brakes were locked on and would not release making it unusable. I called to complain and the mechanic said he had NOT adjusted it and said the cables were corroded and frozen. The next day I put the rear on jack stands and looked at the cables and calipers and the cables were VERY tight and the e-brake lever on the caliper seemed in the wrong position. I went to the adjustment nut on the hand brake and there was over one inch of thread protruding so I backed it off to about 1/2 inch then went back under the car and checked the cables. The e-brake cables and the caliper lever had moved (cable not frozen) I had more free play in the handle. The e-brakes are better but I do think the left rear caliper is hanging up a little but I had no problem with them prior to service. Make your own judgement on what really happened to my e-brake
My vehicle has never left there with a issue. Top notch work
Quality Foreign Car Care, Inc., consistently renders excellent service. Mike is a true professional. We know they are very competent and trustworthy. Our Jaguar has been under their care for many years. We would not have it serviced anywhere else.
Great repairs on my Audi A6
Scheduling appointments online is very easy. Always able to get car in for service on one of my requested times . Professional .
Who would have thought that a place that you could trust still existed in this world? And fair rates for autos that have high line plaques on them! And they have the equipment and knowledge. Very accommodating and easy going. I took note that they did ALL imports....not just the high lines.
Super work and really dedicated professionals...whether it is is a simple service matter or a complex problem hunt, I give them 5 stars! Mike is always accommodating and very pleasant to deal with.
The mechanic is honest
Love the service here
Took my 2010 528 in a few months back to get the iDrive display screen repaired. They sent it out and about a month after putting it back in, it started flickering on and off at the slightest bump, the parking sensors don t work at all, now I don t have my SAT radio anymore! I have walked in there a number of times to tell them and have called and left messages. I keep getting told they have get back with me. Now I don t hear anything from them. I believe I paid well over $1000.00 to get this fixed and and I am not getting any help at all to fix this. Sad thing is, I was referred to them by a friend...
QFCC got me back on the road fast after my Volvos stearing belt debacle. They did a thorough job, and the car is running great now. The staff there is so friendly and very professional. I would highly recommend them.
Best car repair shop I have come across! Honest, quick and solid work. They were okay working with parts I supplied, they saw right through the stealerships bogus remmonedations. They were quick and did it at a fair price. Also they humored my attempts to understand how the car really works. Awesome!!
Quick service, Great prices, and Everyone is friendly
Ive been going to get my A4 serviced there for years. Mike is always very professional and very fair for pricing and are very honest.
I have done business with QFCC for 14 years, They have never failed to go out of their way to explain the problem and solve it at a reasonable price,
Highly knowledgeable, professional and very reasonably priced. There is no where else I would bring my cars to.
Very professional and trust worthy!
Mike gave me a price on an oil change for a somewhat exotic car. From previous experience at other garages I thought the quote might be just for the labor and that the 9 qts of expensive synthetic oil would be more. When the work was performed, I learned (to my utter delight) that the price was INCLUSIVE of materials (oil and filter). I will definitely take my business to Quality Foreign Car Care henceforth.
Mike is very honest and gives a realistic quote and then gets the job done to perfection!
Awesome
Awesome service!! Great problem solvers!
Ive reviewed QFCC before and I really can say more then I already have. That is, I wouldnt take my Porsche or Audi anywhere else for service or repair. They treat my vehicles like there own.
For 16+ years QFCC has been my go-to for my Volvos and Audis. Reasonable prices, practical / pragmatic. Pretty much everything you need.
Great shop with honest and skilled mechanics. The prices are reasonable and the staff is respectful and friendly. Always informative, never pushy. I am consistently pleased with the service here and will continue to return.
Always take care of me car feels like new wouldnt go anywhere else great job and fair prices thanks guys Andrew c
No reason to take my car anywhere else. Nicest and most honest place I have ever known. They take great pride in their work and it shows. I always leave confident that I am driving a care that is safe and well-cared for.
The service from Quality is stellar as well as excellent value for your repair dollars. QFCC stands behind their repairs to make sure the customer is satisfied. When I dropped off my VW recently, I asked for an estimate before repairs were made. I received an estimate as well as options as to how the repairs could be done. Working with Mike and the crew is an example of how car care/repair should be done.
prompt appointment; work completed very satisfactory; e-mail communication great asset
Loyal customer of over 2.5 years . Professional crew and exceptional service . They have a phenomenal reputation , which is why there is no surprise when people bring their Porsches and Maseratis to them . As long as I own foreign cars, I will always go to them .
The team at QFCC do excellent work and accomodate scheduling. Highly recommend giving them an opportunity. Fair pricing for the value of service.
Great service! No pushy sales pitches, honest diagnosis and reasonable pricing.
Quick service & fair price. Has always offered friendly service & effective repairs.
I always feel my car is better when it leaves than when it came in. Some places you cant say that all the time. I feel very secure with the guys working on my cars.
Very professional, clean, knowledgeable, friendly, and very helpful. I recently bought a BMW 325 from a private sale and had some issues. Mike was very thorough and took the time to explain everything to me. I will definitely be bringing my vehicle back when I need my car to be serviced.
