The Rowland Street Garage is an excellent choice, keeping costs down and on time fixes. I had a Caliper broken, and they got me in the next day, smooth riding again. They also repaired an issue after the work (unrelated) for free the next day. They were able to also inspect my car that afternoon with no appointment - fixing another issue very quickly. Thanks!

Took my car in for a neutral safety switch. They do it I pick my car up within two miles the check engine light comes on for the maf sensor so I go to clean it and I find metal shavings in my intake. I recently cleaned my filter and intake so I know they werent there before. Who knows what else they did.

Not a reliable place to go for older vehicles had my heater core replaced thinking this was a good spot to go but it leaked the minute I picked it up and they told me to keep I running it assuming it was a Odor issue. Over 2,000 dollars and months worth of being poisoned, Myself being a ase cert tech knew the issue was still there and I had to replace the heater core myself come to find out they didn t put it back to get her near correctly and didn t change the .79 cent seals that were leaking after charging me my second visit for leaking thermostat housing which my complaint was still heater core leak Also have had a brand new front end in my truck 2 times I ve gone for alignment there and they say they ll get it to spec a month later tires are chopped and torn right up from misalignment They didn t want to fix my evap check engine light because they said it s not something we want to get into when it s a basic smoke test and check a leaking vaccumm line Clearly they despise working on stuff that s 15-20 years old and they would want more expensive jobs off these new plastic vehicles but my money is still green and I was a good customer looking for a profession shop My honest option is to go elsewhere my new found garage is professional honest and reliable

We recently moved from out of state and we had my car towed there after issues with the ball joint and tire. After receiving a quote we decided to have the car moved to a different mechanic. We let the garage know and everything was fine. It wasn t personal until the tow trucker driver called me to tell me Rowland St. garage left my car in a position that made it extremely hard to tow without further damaging my car and of course it was after hours. That s disheartening especially since we were already under challenging circumstances. Edited: Tow truck was able to remove my car with no extensive damage. Rowland St garage called me personally to discuss my review/concerns. We worked together to create a plan to address my concerns above. We went with a different garage but would consider Rowland St in the future because of their concern/compassion for their customers.

They installed and balanced snow tires a few weeks ago I never had wheels balanced this well before

I cant express enough how incredible Jen Katrina Brian are. They took care of my husband baby(truck)A whole entire new motor installed. If it wasnt for Ford holding us up it would have only been 4 days. If I could give them 10 stars I would. Amazing thank you. We will go no where else.

We are traveling the NE with 11 other GTO s and Firebirds when I lost reverse on my 4L60E transmission. A local GTO guy recommended Rowland Street Garage. It was a great recommendation as they took my 65 LeMans right end and their transmission guru rebuilt it for me. As I m from Kansas I was in a fix. They did a great job and had me back on the road the 3rd day. I can t recommend them enough for the work done but also for they treated me. It is a very impressive very clean facility. A+++ from me.

All I can say is, WOW! Rowland Street Garage, is one of the best in the business. I have lived in many places, owned dozens of cars and seen the entire spectrum of repair shops, from good to bad, and everything in between. I have used Rowland Street for my companies fleet of trucks and cars, my personal vehicles and even to purchase a truck for my father-in-law. I can say, with complete confidence that Rowland Street is a fantastic place to bring your vehicle for repair and or service. The entire team, from Brian (GM) to Jen (Office Manager) to the guys and gals turning the wrenches in the shops are all extremely knowledgeable and friendly! The beautiful new shop is very clean and a nice comfortable place to wait, or even get some work done while you wait in the lounge like setting.

The first 2 times my husband s transmission broke, the mechanics at Rowland St Garage were amazing and professional and did a great job dealing with our warranty company and the insurance. Now that the transmission has blown for a 3rd time due to the warranty company refusing to pay for a new transmission, the garage has decided that they will not fix the transmission even though we re losing out on at least $5k+ because the claim adjuster from the warranty company has said the car smells awful and even their own mechanics refuse to work on it because they get sick whenever the doors are open ! The vehicle does NOT smell, only has a faint scent of mustiness because it s been sitting in the lot for 2.5 weeks in the hot sun! When we complained and asked what to do, they told us to remove it immediately as they will never tough it again! And are completely non concerned about us driving a vehicle with a shot transmission off their property even though they re the last people who touched the vehicle! Something changed since they opened the larger garage and their work has gone straight downhill and they have zero cares about customers now. We will never use them again & will warn everyone we know to stay far far away!!

This was our first experience at Rowland St Garage and it exceeded our expectations. We made an appointment for a Wednesday, and I had to drop our truck off Monday due to a work conflict- not expecting to have it looked at until the scheduled appointment time. Tuesday morning at 8:30am I received a call and they had already looked at the truck, diagnosed it and ordered the part needed. Said it would be done Friday, and surely it was. We were in a bit of a pinch to get our truck fixed and this shop went above and beyond to help us out. Big shoutout to Katrina at the front desk who was extremely friendly and Brian in the shop who communicated with us every step of the way. We so appreciate the service and will be back in the future! I m writing on my wife, phone. This is Phil Priolo. The final price was cheaper than quoted. Rotors, calipers,tires. My car is 11 years old and I never had a breaking system that matched the quality as new, they surpassed the expectations, This place did a fantastic job and now I won t go to any other place. WOW BEST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!! I am traveling alone with my mother (2 daughter from Quebec) I have a problem on the road during the night. 2024 Review: Have been a loyal customer now for over 4 years. They have serviced four different vehicles for me from minor to major repairs including correcting mistakes by Jiffy Lube (loose lug bolts on wheel rotation) and Matthews Kia (overfilling oil during oil change). They have also done brakes and seals on my other two cars and a transmission cable as well. They always do a great job and back up there work. I cant say enough good things. 2020 Review: First time at this shop. Excellent customer service. Had major repair done and it came with a 2 year warranty. Great first experience. 2021 Review: Here is an update about one year later: been back 5-6 times for high quality repairs. Not Cheap, but really good workmanship.

Unfortunately, my families been doing business with these people for a long time many many years working on our fleet vehicles and personal vehicles. I sent my daughter there to have her vehicle repaired that she spent her hard earned money on two weeks prior to buy the garage called us to have it picked up. She noticed that the hood and front fender were smashed after contacting the owners of Rowland Street Garage . we were asked to come so they could take a look at it, this was the worst experience I ve ever had all they did was deny everything and act like they never did anything to the car asking us. Why would we open the hood as it was there for a check engine light issue? Not really sure what opening the hood has to do with dropping something on it and smashing it. Good luck to anybody that decides to go to this garage. Take pictures of your stuff before and after picking it up. If I could ve given zero stars to this business, I would have the owners daughter and cousin were downright absolutely disrespectfully rude, we are currently consulting with an attorney. I will update this review when I figure out what s going on.

I got my transmission changed at Rowland Street for my Jeep Wrangler, that had been off the road and parked for 1 year. It also needed new calipers because they seized while it sat. Gary did a great job locating a low mile transmission for me, and charged fairly for the labor. One of the calipers failed within the warranty time, and I just got that replaced today for no charge. The shop is clean, respectful, and everyone is friendly. They always try to make repairs as convenient as they can for the vehicle owner. I know that the team will always do their best to keep repairs cost effective and wont suggest unnecessary repairs.

Had oil changed on Tuesday. They left my oil cap off. And I did not see a light come on till I was 45 min away. I called immediately as soon as I realized the cap was off. They WOULD NOT HELP ME on a Saturday. They told me I was out of luck on a Saturday as the business closes down . That they could not fix my car till Monday. Unbelievable. Will not be going there again. Tell your friends. I am a single woman and I am having to have my car towed all over Albany with no other vehicle. Poor poor customer service and negligent technical service. Hopefully my entire car is not ruined. If I could give negative stars I would

These guys are outstanding! Helped me out in a pinch big time when the other garage couldn t fit my truck on their alignment machine these guys got it done now problem. My 2018 Ram 2500 Cummins on 35x12.5xr22 was no issue for them. I highly recommend Roland Street Garage for everyone especially the people with bigger trucks and vehicles!

They took care of my performance diesel truck above and beyond. Added a lift pump, bottom sump, and a/c compressor. All work was done perfect and without flaws, price was fair and work was quick. I would recommend anyone to go here for anything from major to minor repairs. Great staff and great service A+++++++.

Great place to bring your car for service

After returning from a 2 week vacation, my sister-in-law went to drive back to Utica and the car started making a noise. I told her it would be nearly impossible to have someone look at it same day, but I drove down to Rowland Street and the mechanic at the desk after hearing my story cheerfully said lets take a look at it he immediately drove the car and told me it was safe for her to drive back home, just a possible warped rotor from sitting outdoors for 2 weeks with no use. Wouldnt take any money for it-- I am VERY appreciative for their friendly and immediate help!

I think spending hundreds and hundreds of dollars at your shop, for you to fix the car that I bought, at your shop, and then for me to still leave there with my check engine light on and my EPC light on, would be the first indicator that my service needs were not met. And then after spending all of that money, for you to then tell me that theres nothing more that you can do for me and that I would have to take my car to a VW dealership to try to resolve the issue, is a pretty good indicator as well.

Had a leveling kit and new tires put on my F350 I also had a burning smell from the brakes and assumed I needed pads, calipers, rotors. They did a full brake cleaning service and saved me almost $1k! Truck looks and performs great. 10/10 recommend.

My fiance brought my car in for inspection literally just changed the sway bar links and had sway bar checked but was told it failed due to bad sway bar? Seems like fishing for money to me but Im sure there will be a sorry your car didnt pass inspection its old note after this. Car is maintained well and has almost all new parts. Wont go here again . Seems like because my fiance brought the car in they tried to finesse her.

I have gone back & forth in regards to writing a review as I really love this garage - but I feel like I have to as I m still really upset and confused. I brought my car in for a diagnostic test and was told my clutches were bad and it basically would need a new transmission which would be 3k. Figured I wouldn t go through with that as my car was not even worth that. During the initial phone call where I found out what the results of the diagnostic test was, I do remember him saying something about putting a part in my car. Genuinely I believed that I heard him wrong because I hadn t even found out what was wrong with my car yet, so why would anyone be putting a part in my car without me giving the green light first. I was going to go through with trading in my car and buying a used car through them - but after reading more into the car that I was going to purchase, I started to get cold feet (backing out of the deal had absolutely nothing to do with Rowland and was just me feeling like I d prefer to buy new and not used). Anyways, when I went to go pick up my car, I thought I d just be paying for the diagnostic fee. Instead I was charged $314 for a purge valve that was put into my car. The receipt said that the purge valve code is what came up on the diagnostic test, but when we originally spoke on the phone, he told me it was my transmission/clutches which is why I said I d just get a new car to begin with. I paid for the bill due to feeling bad about backing out of the deal and also respecting them as a garage - but I really don t believe I should have been charged for a part that I never said ok go ahead put that in my car . I also was told my car was still not safe to drive - so I left feeling confused and taken advantage of for sure. I also was told that I should not show this receipt to anyone in regards to trying to get my money back for the bill (for trade in purposes) by proving a new part was just put into it, and to keep it a secret which I also thought was very odd.

These guys have taken care of me for over 20 years! Recently they recommended I get new tires, as I was going out of town for a trip. They went out of their way to make sure I had new tires before I left on my trip (in a very tight timeframe!). I was so grateful, as halfway through the first day, it started pouring rain, and the roads were a little dicey. I saw a semi truck, hydroplane off the overpass, and crash on the road below very scary! I felt really safe and secure with my new tires and made the trip without incident! Always grateful that Rowland Street is looking out for me!

There s no need to crank them on so tight that they break. Probably will go somewhere else next time I need work / upgrades done to my vehicle.

I have debated leaving a review for a while but i absolutely feel like i need to. I purchased a vehicle from here in late August early September 2020. After barely a week of having it i got a cat code check engine light. They fixed it. Once again it came on they warranted the cat out and fixed it again. It again came on they fixed it plus i paid for the O2 to be replaced. That was just the beginning of the worst 2 years of car issues Ive ever experienced. I just hit the 2 year mark of owning it and since the first month of owning it its been one thing after another. I have put thousands beyond thousands into this car. Ive spent more in repairs than i paid for the car which was just over 10k. Now i cant even get it to pass inspection!! I have been told to take it to a GM dealership to let them figure it out. Absolutely insane! That was an absolute LEMON to say the least!!! Be extremely careful what you buy and never trust one owner well maintained perfect maintenance record just what we love to see because if its too good to be true its not true.

Women and elderly beware. I went in for a simple fix and was told this went wrong this was faulty that was faulty. When it was all said and done I was charged $1100.00. About 2 yrs ago my wiper blade flew off and I had to stop here. He told me it was a special blade and charged me $20. I paid 14.99 for both blades a week before. Never again with these thieves. It wasnt me that had that bad experience this time. It was my sister whom I am speaking for because she just wants to forget about it. Bottom line is, you ripped me off the first time and now her. Im sure youll have a good holiday.

There is no other garage for us. We live close, but even if we moved wed bring our vehicles here. They are honest, quick and have always done right by us. They dont pressure us into superfluous repairs and dont condescend when explaining an issue. Also, when my wife goes they treat her with just as much respect as they give me. Weve been going here for 12 years and feel fortunate to have found them.

Recently, I needed to mount snow tires on a new set of wheels. Brian guided me through the process and I found that they offered a really great set at a very reasonable price. I went for the oil change service, they charged 90 dollars for this service, I only went 1000 miles and now I need to change the oil again. I think they were stingy.

I have not experienced many garages like Rowland St Garage. The staff is incredibly friendly and willing to accommodate. I purchased my first car through them. My friend works in the garage and says how much he enjoys working there. Overall the environment is very upbeat. Hopefully i wont need to go back, but if i do i know i am in good hands.

I called on Friday to get an appointment to take a look at my exhaust. They set me up with one Monday morning. In 1.5 hours they gave me an estimate and completed the entire job. Welded the new one in and now is back to 100%. Rowland St Garage is Top Notch!!!

We stumbled upon this gem of a garage when we lived in Ballston Spa. The customer service and prices were wonderful! As an added bonus, I would drop my car off and they would drive me home! We moved to Scotia, but have really come to trust Rowland Street Garage and their staff with our cars. Its worth the effort to coordinate the pick-up/drop-off with my husband now. Theyre awesome!

Lack of customer service is astonishing. I would never recommend this place to anyone. I had to get my brakes fixed. They did not fix them correctly and I almost crashed. When I called to discuss my brakes the woman who answered the phone was degrading and disrespectful. Gary was abrasive and rude.

I recently bought a used Vehicle from Rowland street garage , Larry was very quick to get me on the road the same day as purchase !!! After a couple weeks of owning the car , I noticed a few minor issues , I brought back to have them take a look at what was going on . Brian and his team worked very quick to isolate the problems and make the necessary repairs at no cost to get me back on the road . So for anyone looking for a quality used vehicle I would highly recommend checking out thier lot , they have a great selection and charge very reasonable prices !!

My experience was mostly horrible. The quality of the work was excellent and the price was fair. HOWEVER, the customer service from the girl with the claws was less than stellar. She was rude and arrogant. And when I realized that a portion of the work was under warranty she got worse. Any place else would have made the adjustment. I handed her over $1350 and was appalled at how I was treated. Don t go here if you are going to have to deal with her.

Rowland Street Garage has worked on our cars for years but recently they went above and beyond what any other garage would do for a customer! I purchased a used car a couple years ago that has been a complete lemon and RSG has nursed me through multiple repairs until finally the engine blew. Brian, the general manager, has helped me through everything and also helped us to purchase a replacement used vehicle. If you live in the Capital Region, dont go anywhere except RSG for all your car repair needs!

Very organized

Bought used vehicle from Rowlands Street and had issues first week of ownership and there was no antifreeze in it. Even though it kept having the same issue every winter with the antifreeze, they would not own up to the lemon sold to us. Finally the engine blew, but still no responsibility on their part. $$$$ beware Coolant issue came back every winter. Considering it was sold without any in it and I had to call from Tennessee because it shut down, I should have realized right then to return it. But like others I read, the problem was resolved when brought in on several occasions until the warranty ran out.

I ve been using Rowland St Garage for more than 20 yrs, we bring all of our cars to them. Always professional and friendly. Needed a failed bearing removed from a snowmobile wheel that I could not remove. Bryan was great, took care of it for me right away. GREAT customer service.

Accommodating staff and good work

My car was quickly diagnosed by professionals that are clearly experts. They fixed my car within 2 hours and I was on the road again. I got estimates from other shops and Rowland s had the best value.

Bought used vehicle last October...had many issues almost immediately with vehicle.Oil leaking..bad ground on alternator.Every time we brought car back with issues we started getting a song and dance by Brian about making good on his word that if we had issues upon delivery that they would take care of it. Although they may be a good auto repair service proceed with caution with these people when it comes to buying a used vehicle from them.

Rowland St. Garage has been my service center for 10+ years. The quality work, and the great customer service sets then apart. I was in the other day for an inspection at 8am. Turns out I was in pretty desperate need for new tires, but I had a 4 hour drive that I needed to leave for at 11:30. Brian was able to get new tires in from Albany, get them mounted and balanced and finish the inspection by 11:15. That was incredible when (before he knew I had to travel) Brian told me he could do it the next day. Brian bent over backwards to help me out. I feel like this is normal business for this team. I only trust Rowland St Garage with my cars.

My transmission went, previous shop was an unprofessional pain (because they had to deal with a warranty company) But Rowland st did it, no question or complaints about it. Warranty company is slow, but as soon as things were in motion the shop here moved fast and had it ready to go in like 24 hours HIGHLY RECOMMEND FOR TRANSMISSION WORK!!!

Ive been taking my cars to Rowland Street Garage for service for 25 years. Bill and Fred always treated me fairly, honestly, and respectfully. Now with the next generation running the show, I get treated just as fairly, honestly, and respectfully...again. Twenty five years! I have always been very satisfied. Maybe not always pleased with the money I had to fork over to have well qualified mechanics nurse my old vehicles and keep them running. But hey, thats life, fair is fair. Everyone gets to put their own spin on their story and mine emanates from approximately ten different cars over the 25 years. Their lot is always full with customers cars waiting for repairs...always! A couple years back they had to nearly double their space, bays, and staff. I always recommend Rowland Street Garage when asked about auto repair. I find them so reputable that I recently decided to purchase a vehicle from their little sales lot. They promptly addressed an issue that I brought up after my test drive. I went through with the purchase and the car has been fantastic. Need a used vehicle that the seller will stand behind?
