We love this place, being from Rhode Island, where the original ocean State job lot originated, this is a great place to pick up, baking goods, nuts, etc.
This Time I’ve gone to job lot on a Monday morning at 8 AM. On Mondays if you go between eight and nine, you’re able to get a discount on food if you’re a senior. This is the second time I’ve gone there and the lights are on, but the door is locked. They don’t put a sign on the door explaining why they’re closed. The first time they said their computer system was down. A number of people came while I was waiting and tried to enter the store, but the door was locked. The least they could do is put a sign on the door explaining their problem and then honoring the 20% off for the food for seniors. I also tried calling the store for an update and no one answers the phone. This is poor business.
🤔Even though the building is not that big like Walmarts or Target..🤓 it still quite unique with so many opportunities.. 😊 if it's clothes your looking for.. or perhaps outside furniture... maybe spices for the kitchen.. or supplies for the bathroom.. And the best of all.. membership is not only easy and free 😎 but they give out crazy deal (gift cards).. when you end up buying certain items in the store 🤯.. you can find all of these and much more At Ocean Job Lot.. in Ballston Spa😉 if you've never been there.. ☺️ I recommend for you to check it out yourself.. happy shopping my friends😁
They've spruced it up a bit recently--its legitimately cleaner and more organized. I just can't get behind not having more than one cashier. If you aren't going to hire people, at least put in a self checkout. I just gave up trying to buy my snacks and walked out. 🤷🏻♂️

Normally this place is ok 90% of the time I can’t find what I’m looking for. Prices can be cheap but low quality a lot of stuff don’t have prices so that’s annoying. But what I just witnessed turned me off a lot right now there is a sale for seniors spend over $20 get 40% back. These people waited In a long line to get the crazy deal the girl never put it in said she didn’t want to assume their age beacuse it’s rude they where clearly seniors why not just put the sale in? Ok like I get but what is even worse is they had to go into another long line to return everything to get the crazy deal did not get angry. And then I think the girl thought the people left the store beacuse she yelled out loud well the customer said I should assume they are old beacuse they have grey hair and she laughed she was rude unprofessional and really sucks at customer service I believe as a person no senior should be disrespected and that’s exactly what this girl did I hope once it slows down she is talked to about this! That’s not a way to treat not only customers but especially seniors if that was my GMA or mother I would of made a scene but yk by my other reviews that’s just me.
OSJL has a lot of good items that are reasonably priced. I buy mostly household and garden items there. They also have a great selection of teas. The staff is nice and helpful.

Love going to the local Ocean State. I always seem to go in for what Im looking for and come out with way more.
Its so exciting here! How does one not spend hours in this place?! What a blast. Familiar and friendly staff as well that are always nice to see, and are always super helpful and understanding if you need anything. The building is a little outdated compared to other OSJLs, so just be aware, but it certainly doesnt take anything away from the experience. Online ordering to the store is a nice improvement over the last year or two as well.

This place is a bargain persons paradise, they got so much stuff its impossible to even pick a few. And theres a ton of stuff to look at.
While inflation keeps pushing us down, OSJL keeps me up, if your resourceful, you can drum up meals that are filling with plenty of drink to wash it down. Glad its close by.

Its a typical OSJL that took over an old Grand Union. The employees are always friendly and helpful. The selection is as expected including availability. In general tho, it still feels like an indoor garage sale.
I was in this store recently and saw the manager Kerry yelling at the employees and being totally disrespectful to the customers I feel like she should learn how to respect others

Strange how the lady who works there had her big cart ( used to offload the store goods)right in the middle of the small aisle blocking the aisle and when I stopped and said: excuse me, so she can move the massive cart to one side since no others carts could pass by on those sides, she was rude and very expressive in her distaste of my request.

UPDATE: I am disgusted. Standing in line I just witnessed a cashier, VALERIE, bully an elderly patron. When this elderly woman asked a simple question about the crazy deals program Valerie talked down to her without answering her question. Then was physically pushy (taking her card out of her hand, throwing the scanner) and rude throughout the transaction. Would not even help her bag her groceries when she asked. I cant believe Ocean State lets someone like this interact with customers. If you, Valerie, as a middle aged woman, cant respect our elders what is wrong with you. If you hate your job that much go find a new one dont take it out on the meek old lady who you know wont defend herself. Bully!! Ocean State this is not OK!! Always very tidy and clean in this OSJL. Good selection! I prefer over the Clifton Park location.
Lots of stuff to pick through. Some deals but you have to look for them. Dont go expecting to find the same things all the time.
There are some interesting finds from time to time. Overall, product quality is mediocre. Store is often disorganized and isles are a bit narrow & crowded. Prices are so-so, not always a big savings when you consider the lower quality.

I had forgotten what a great bargain hunting store Ocean State Job Lots is. Its been about 5 years since I sold my house in NY.And unfortunately this great discount retailer doesnt have any stores near my current home in Tampa. I needed a larger patio rug for my rv campsite, which is what brought me here last week. I got my patio rug and a whole bunch more. I highly recommend this fantastic discount retailer.

Good prices on lots of stuff - I always come home with something . Its just a bit disorganized, not a clear section of items - socks or tops could be in 3 or 4 parts of the store.

I go here maybe once or twice a year because you can find good deals on christmas gifts and supplies. Beware, if you have anxiety, the store is not organized and prices are not always correct. Make sure to sign up for free to be a member, or youll be paying more.

I love this store. Buy all my pots, plant needs, rugs, birdseed, pool floats etc etc Love specially the food selections. Always look forward to new items- their cookies are the best. My husband used to shop there & every visit reminds me of him.

Love Ocean State, especially when they have things that I need that are eligible for a gift card. Right now I have over $450.00 in gift cards and I think I will get a free air conditioner with them.

Went on a Friday at 3pm, not crowded with people but the store is packed with merchandise everywhere! You can hardly get a cart up & down the aisles! My last trip I only needed a solar pool cover and 400 heavy duty paper plates. I was able to find both at very decent prices! The staff is always very friendly and helpful, they just need more cashiers & employees! Sometimes the wait in line to checkout can take 20-25 minutes.

Always find things I enjoy at this store.
I pick up odds and ends here, especially my Bob Red Mills gluten free 1:1 flour. Staff is friendly and helpful. They are also carrying more gluten free products and the prices are always reasonable.
I only shop here because they sell dog bullysticks and have decent reading glasses. The older cashiers seem more interested in themselves and their conversations then being friendly to the customer. If you arent naturally friendly or a people person then please dont work here. The younger workers they had before were nicer.
I wasnt familiar with this store/brand so stopped by to check it out. Its similar to Big Lots so the store can be a little messy/chaotic in appearance. With that said, there are some great values to be found. Some items were a little pricey for the quality/craftsmanship. Overall though, most items are bargain priced. I personally really liked the garden and patio merchandise. I got a beautiful bird bath and patio rug on sale and they were bargain deals!

They have nice things but some of them if not most of them are way too pricey. You may or may not catch a bargain. Its a hit or miss type of place.

My favorite store around, you cant be the prices. They have everything you dont need and everything you do too. They get surplus items from different stores the inventory is always changing, and almost everything is affordable. The crazy deals are a steal. I love their home goods, fun foods, and art supplies.
I didnt go in because my knees were bothering me after an earlier hike, but my girlfriend was looking for some thing specific. Then she found out that they were having a big anniversary sale!!! (Lets just say that she took advantage of that!!!) Update: I have changed to 4 stars, mostly because I do love the store, its just that I was just a bit tired on that particular fall Saturday. Sometimes you have things that even other Ocean State Job Lots dont have. I hope to return to your store very soon.

Great place to stop and shop. We picked up a good sized Tarp for our wood pile. There prices are good on many items you use. We go every now and then. It is also good to become a member of the inside Club. We will definately be going back at various times when we need to get some items that are on sale.
Its nice store. Has decent food section here; I went there for black currant jam, which comes from Europe. Got toilet paper for good price. Will go again.

The employees are helpful and friendly. Lots of good bargains but make sure you give yourself enough time to shop. Some of the big bargains are hard to locate in the store. I suggest asking the help. They make it a lot easier to find things.
