Sadly I've had several transmissions (and now a transfer case) worked over at L&L. Each and every time their estimate has been accurate and their work on point. I've seen a few reviews about the cost. There are some things I can fix, others I can't, so to pay a business to make our vehicle whole again is to be expected. This specific episode happened to be the transfer case which had absolutely grenaded. I received the call at lunch time on day three that my truck was complete and ready for pick up. Within the range of what I was quoted and done up right. A win in my book. Thanks "Cam" and crew at L&L..

The communication needs to be worked on & the secretary is rude to customers. Not only was she rude to me on the phone when she mistakenly told me that my car was ready, but she didn’t realize I was the wrong customer she was speaking to regarding my vehicle. I was given a 3-4 day time frame and 4400 quote. I waited a lot longer than I could afford to and had to keep extending time on my rental vehicle. In the end I paid about 5400 dollars. It would have been 5600, but thankfully they were willing to work with me and lowered it a bit. I would’ve given them 3 stars, but the lady working the front needs to check her attitude. Very rude to not only me, but my mother when we asked for clarification on pricing from the manager. I do appreciate the work that was done, just need to work better on communicating.
Got me in right away for an inspection when another shop in town failed to inform me that their inspection guy wasn't in even though I had an appointment. Great service as always. Recommended.

This week I went to have my transmission checked as I was made aware there may be a leak. My car was promptly brought in for a check. After about 15 minutes a very sweet gentleman came out with a huge book showing schematics of my transmission and told me it was bad. He explained the problem and honestly suggested it was time for a new car since the repair cost would be significant. He gained nothing by telling me this, didn’t steer me to a dealer, just honestly told me that he would do the work but he didn’t advise it. I am very grateful that I had the opportunity to meet someone so honest and selfless. I do not know anyone at this shop, in fact, I know very few people in the area as a relative newcomer so I am not writing this review to boost his profile, I just want to let anyone looking for service that this shop is the real deal. Thanks for being honest and doing business the right way.
I called a few weeks ago to schedule an appt to come in and find out how to resolve a transmission surge issue I was having. I dropped my vehicle off today for the diagnosis and came back an hour later. When arriving they told me that I was having a transmission surge which I mentioned when booking and asked them to find out why. Instead of looking into why it may be happening they simply made a suggestion that I take it to a dealership to diagnose. Then requested I pay $80. My car had no work done on it nor was there any information on how to repair the issue or what the issue was. They simply said they couldn’t figure it out and to ask someone else. Considering the car was only dropped off for an hour no one researched what the issue could be simply just moved on to the next car because it was too difficult and were short staffed that day. Also when booking the appt, the receptionist should have mentioned there is an $80 fee. Or when dropping my car off she could’ve mentioned that. I had no prior knowledge that I would be paying anything for nothing being done until it came time to retrieve my keys which is extremely unprofessional. The fee existing is not an issue, it’s that there should have been a conversation about a price prior to anything being done. Dealership charges a $200 fee to diagnose the issue and will keep the car until they figure out what’s wrong with it. If this company was going to be lazy and not even look into what the issue was I don’t see the reasoning for charging $80 for telling me absolutely nothing. This place was recommended to me so I had much higher expectations especially a shop that specializes in this line of work vs a dealership that’s working on a million different aspects of the vehicle. Really disappointed that I had to waste $80 and got no where with fixing my vehicle. Wouldn’t recommend.
Very kind and thorough! My best friend and I were on our way back to Michigan from our Memorial Day vacation and my transmission RANDOMLY decided to stop working. We were towed to L&L and I'm so thankful we were! They were super friendly and made us a #1 priority to ensure we were taken care of in timely manor! Highly recommend these guys!

Dont bring your car here. Cameron the owner robbed me for nearly 1,100.00 and his mechanic didnt do anything but inspect my clutch. That cost me 11 hundred bucks. Oh, they claim that the clutch was working fine and recommended I should go with a new transmission! Cha king, cha king ! It doesnt take a genius to see where this is going. After I reluctantly had to pay this bill for my car to take up space there he said a dual flywheel would most likely fix the chatter sound since he had the same issue. Interesting, so is it a new transmission or flywheel? Big difference in cost between the two. He gave himself away and helped confirm my suspicions all along. This shop doesnt replace worn parts . They are telling their customers that they need new or rebuild transmissions! If you let them take you for 3 to 6 grand or more know that they usually dont scrap your transmission. They let you think they did and replace the worn sensor or module. Run from this place. They are crooks and karma has a way of finding. He also forced me to sign the repair bill which stated that all repair work was done to my satisfaction or he would not release my keys or the car until I signed it! And he made sure I payed before he shoved that bill to be signed in front of me! But little did he know, I signed it under duress. I want my money back. Youre a thief
I brought in my SUV yesterday, a cable connected to the transmission became disconnected. Nothing major, but the gentleman took care of my problem and I was out in about 30 minutes. Great price great service!
Traveling from Maine to ND to drop our son off at college, the truck had an issue. Nearing closing time L&L not only took the time to diagnose the issue, ordered, and offered to stay late to install the part! After a quick fix, we were off on our way and got him to school on time thanks to their amazing service!
I took my camper van to them and they were wonderful,he called me every time he found something wrong.He always asked first before he repaired it.Very pleased with them, they went out of their way to solve the problems

The people here from the mechanic to the counter, people were terrific. They ve actually done four transmissions for me in the big Penske cube vans. I would recommend them to anybody.

I was on vacation when I had to use a transmission shop 8 hours from home. The shop had to rebuild my transmission. When I got home the new torque converter was failing. L&L worked closely with the other transmission shop and replace the faulty converter. The other shop paid the bill. I did not have to make any phone calls. L&L did all the leg work. It was easy for me. Great service!
OK L&L was amazing flat out. They got my van up and running. They were as quick as they could be mind you they had to work with my insurance company which is not a normal insurance company and made every thing harder and longer. Although they did awesome communicating with myself and the company. They are dependable and reasonable. They are here for your transmission needs!! Pretty much almost every other need as well. They check throughly and will work with you as you go. Thank you so much to the whole place including Matt who was my go to guy point of contact!!! They wouldve even replaced my tail light if I had the part with me. If you want a complete job and want it done right Im telling you call them I made the mistake of not going to them first and regretted it.

10 out of 10! First time at this shop and they were very good. Prices are great and they did great work. I had them change my tailshaft seal, bushing, u joint and slip yoke. I also asked them to look at another issue that only happens occasionally. They were not able to replicate the issue I was having. Instead of selling me hundreds of dollars in parts that I did not need, they were honest with me and told me they couldn t replicate the issue. This is a very honest and trustworthy shop. I will definitely use them again!
Brought it in for a potentially expensive transmission repair, but instead they diagnosed and repaired a complicated electrical problem on our very old car. All at a very fair price. Highly recommended.

Don t diagnose, charge for full rebuild then blame you for their terrible work, harness hanging bolts missing shifts worse than before. Useless warranty. Told me upon bringing it back that they couldn t diagnose the transmission due to the obd2 port not working. I changed the fuse that fixed the port. Then I m thinking well how did they know I needed 4700 dollar transmission rebuild if they couldn t diagnose it?!?! How can you be a tech that cannot determine a fuse is blown! I m pretty sure I paid $4700 to have a fluid change and pressure wash. I had another fleet truck in there they did an upgrade to the grounds the harness was dragging on the ground when I got it back. I didn t know that s what they meant by upgrading the grounds! Save your hard earned money from this place; don t learn the hard way like i did. My engine runs exactly how it should. I canceled the check due to my truck shifting the same or worse than before. They don t diagnose anything they say they just take your money and pretend all is well. They couldn t diagnose a fuse for the obd port that s tied to the cig lighter they made me fix my electrical issues before blaming the truck further To the responder, this is deflection because you don t stand behind your work and service and you re trying to make me out as a customer with no mechanical knowledge and justify the service I received. I forgot about the repair bill I got when the new transmission lines you put in weren t put in their brackets and rubbed on the frame causing me a tow too. Just awful work! What about the other truck you left the harness unclipped and dragging on the ground? Is that my engine or electrical issue on that one too? You said you did an update to the grounds. What a joke you didn t even bother to respond to that. In my world if I don t finish a job or do it incorrectly I have to give a refund or fix it. Reluctantly I re issued payment to get my truck out of your hands. I reached out a couple of times even to see if I could get you to do something and you laughed and said to adjust the new kick down cable I put in that should have been something you did. So I shouldn t have had to do that just like replacing the lines again and throwing a new fuse in to plug into a computer. It s not an adjustable cable either, which you replied oh it s just over adjusted from the factory too tight meanwhile it did make no difference anyhow because the internals of the rebuilt transmission aren t right. You could have went old school and put additives and wood shavings in it and done better to me. You re not sorry for my negative experience but rather the public consequences of such an experience.

Not sure of these guys was on a trip to visit with family and on the way home check engine light on took it to L&L they said needed a torque converter so had it done also they put a replacement transmission in now back home in FL 32000 miles since repair and transmission is slipping was told need to replace it payed 3500 for repair at L&L not happy
Definitely bring your car here with transmission issues. These guys know their stuff! I would not trust anyone else with any transmission related problems in Batavia.
Just had my cv shaft replaced today and my car operated 110% better for a fair price...thank you guys you really do care about the safety of your customers I would recommend you to anyone in the area for anything car related...definently coming back soon for more repairs I need done

I would steer clear of this place if i were you. They wont be getting any more business from us or refered to them by us. Charged more than the highest price with no validity to why it was 700 more then the worst case scenario. And to add insult to injury...after having vehicle for weeks...which ok...covid has scrwed up everything for availability...our vehicle was scratched all to holy hell. Not only the passenger door down to bare shiney metal...but the windshield!!! The windshield!!! Had two HUGE gouges across the driver side and it continued over the side frame pretty damn deep. There is no way this much damage could have occured without knowing of the damage. The sound alone woukd have been apparent. AND...not done yet ...the vehicle drove yes...hence two stars and not just one...but everytime we reversed...it made a clunk or thud sound. At first i thought it was just imagination so had wife drive it without saying anything amd she heard the same thing. Also...i asked about warranty...this after spending nearly 4k!!! And response was, whatever the manfucturer warranty is for parts. But couldnt tell me what that was...sketchy as hell and forced us to trade it in while it was still running!!! Totally unprofessional and will be voicing to anyone to STEER CLEAR!!!!!. After we done the work...many folks started telling us they would never go there. Which is surprising they still have over a 4 star rating!!!??? I should add...I had to call every 3-5 days to get an update. No one kept us in the loop the entire damn time. Frustrating experience all around.

A+++++ One in a million shop, i mean honest, friendly, professionals that go out of their way to help honestly cannot find service like this anymore. I was 6 hours from home attending a funeral when my truck started spraying a fluid. They took me in that day, diagnosed, and fixed my truck in no time flat. Oh and i guarantee you cannot beat the price i almost felt bad paying so little for all they did to help me. I could go on and on, the owner even took time out of his day to give me a ride back to my hotel while the truck was being fixed. Best shop, best experience at a mechanic in my life. They were a complete blessing on such a bad day.

These guys are AWESOME!!! No doubt I would recommend them to anyone and everyone we called them to make a appointment to have our car diagnosed and the gentleman that I spoke with told me exactly what to do to fix the problem over the phone and for FREE after the BMW dealership said that the problem would cost me $10.000 for a new transfer case when all I really needed was 4 new tires. It took 1 phone call to fix a problem that 4 other mechanics couldn t fix after having it in their shops for days. THANK YOU L&L Transmissions it s nice to know that there are still good fair people in the world

had an appointment to drop a car off Monday June 15th at 2 pm so they could start first thing Tuesday morning to have a transmission put in sway bar links brake line and wheel bearing gurantee to be done by Wednesday morning at the latest finally after a bunch of back and forth Friday June 19th at the close of day they tell me its done witch included only the transmission and sway bar link ends and almost dubble what I was quoted while doing the brake lines find out they didnt tighten a bolt down and after I drive it not even 100 miles it dosent want to shift right tell me bring it out so they can look at it and then refuse to do so STAY AWAY
Truck was towed in Wednesday night after hours. I waited till 445 Thursday for a call telling me what was wrong with it and how much it would be to fix.... no call came. Called and sat on hold for 15 mins before leaving a message. They returned the call 20 mins later that they hadn t even looked at it. Friday waited all day on a call that never came. Shops closed the weekend so no info then either. Took me calling on Monday afternoon for them to tell me oh yeah it s already fixed ..... I authorized no repairs for my vehicle and hadn t even heard from them since Thursday night. Charged 219 dollars for a 79 dollar part, and just went ahead and did the repair without even asking me. Honestly they were less than professional every step of the way (besides the tow driver he was great) and they will never swindle me out of another dollar so long as I live!! Absolutely disgusted with the whole thing and their response to all of this was a shoulder shrug. Take your vehicle elsewhere and save yourself the headache and stress. Zero stars would not recommend at all.

I took my suv on cause it was having shifting issues... Cameron himself looked at it drove it and ran the computer on it and few other things... it sat there for 4 days and he didnt charge me anything... kept me updated!!!!!
The guys a L&L are top notch they quoted me a price few days later it was done way sooner than expected. Extra parts and work was done as well and stayed in price I was quoted. They came highly recommend and I now see why, professional service, great customer care, reasonable price. These guys at L&L are true professional of there craft, I will strongly recommend them.

They dont deserve no stars. If you are a person of color, I will STRONGLY ADVISE YOU TO NOT GO HERE! They are very racist, and over charge you for everything. They make it very known by their tone of voice, body language, no eye contact that they dont like our kind. Please dont waste your time and money with them, they will make your car have more problems than it did, and have you continue to come back until you have to remove the entire transmission. This was the worse experience of my life. THEY GET NO STARS!!!!!!!!!!

The MINI was dropped off for a clutch and flywheel replacement. Damaged my axle seals. Screwed up my alignment. Must have used an impact to tighten my lugs after putting my alloy wheels back on. I had to use a 25 breaker to remove the lugs. I called them about the axle seals, and they asked me to schedule an appointment to have them replaced. Honestly, after all of the problems they had caused, Id rather take it somewhere else and pay out of pocket to have their mistakes fixed.
These guys are lifesavers! I own a business where I depend on my vehicle. It came in having transmission issues that just started.....long story short... they went out of their way...on a holiday weekend no less....to get me back up and running... within a few hours...I just cant thank them enough...and btw... even though they knew I was desperate to get back on the road... their pricing was more than fair. They did a great job replacing our transmission. They seem to be very busy which usually means they are in high demand. Could have done a better job communicating because we waited for days to get it fixed. Also overfilled the fluid by a few oz. But at our request drained some out. Couple bolts are ruined so may have to drill them out but next owner may have to deal with that. Again communication would have been appreciated but they are very good with transmissions even though not the best communicators.

This guy cameron went out of his way on a saturday and drove me to different locations so i could pay a very reduced price to get my vehicle back.
I took my truck there for a valve body. Before I took it there I ask them to just replace the valve body they said yes we can do that. The back story of this truck I rebuilt the transmission. But mess up the valve body. I was running low on cash so I didnt replace it. Put it back together and put it aside. Because I am a crop farmer and I had my crop to plant and harvest through the spring ,summer and fall. Come fall I was still busy and I had no time. I was taking my car off the road do to it was time to replace it. With this truck so I took it to them for a valve body replacement. When I did they told be my transmission fluid smelt burnt and it need a transmission rebuilt. I told them no and I wanted the valve body replaced. They said okay it will be a couple day to get the valve body in. To me a couple days is two. I called 5 business day later asking the status of the truck. Find out they didnt order the parts. My reply was I am sorry if I sound mad and a little irritated, But come on. There reply was you dont know what your talking about go by your own f****** valve body and put it in yourself. Then hung up the phone. Little background about me I have two degrees in auto mechanic and diesel mechanic. And I am a master ASE Tech. I worked in number of shops. Before going full time at my family farm. And I was always the transmission guy in the shop. Like I said I was too busy to do this myself so I sent it out. And that and thats my experience with this place. Just letting everyone know my experience.
Danyell and Cameron are excellent to work with. The guys in the shop are knowledgeable and get the job done. You never have to worry about these great people ripping you off. We would never take our vehicles anywhere else.
I have always had the best customer service at this shop. They are honest and prices are extremely fair. This is a great family owned business that takes pride in their work. The one guy Cameron has a nice beard too which is cool.

Test drove my car and fixed a minor problem for free.
I brought my 04 Ford conversion van in because of a flashing O/D light they found the problem and fix it very honest people there I had a hiccup after I picked it up and the next day I called they said to bring it back they will check it out brought it in the checked it over everything was good just needed some more fluid from an air bubble and I was on my way great experience will recommend at every chance..... Great price and it sure beat driving to Lackawanna where it was originally rebuilt ....

This is by far the best car shop and company Ive ever dealt with!!! I had to have my transmission fixed and I have an outside warranty which was a pain to deal with because they wanted them to purchase cheaper parts than what the shop could find but they went along with it and were able to have the warranty company purchase the parts they found at a cheaper price and ship them to the shop so I didnt have to pay anything extra (since they only cover parts up to the prices they find and you would have to pay the rest if it goes over their price). The shop just worked with them and me and did for the last week and actually fought for me and didnt want to just charge to me extra! I cant say how grateful I am for Mark and Danyell helping me through all of this!!
Went in with problems in my tranny/driveshaft system. They road tested it, pulled it in, and had it fixed within 2 hours. People were very nice, prices were excellent. Definitely going back.
