It's getting toward the end of my new vehicle warranty and I won't be receiving anymore perks at the car dealership. I figured I'd test out Batavia Automotive with a vehicle inspection. This would allow me to get a sense of how they operate before trusting them with any larger jobs down the road. The Good: The receptionist was quick at her job, even driving some customer vehicles into the shop herself. She spoke clearly and did not beat around the bush with me or the other customers while I was present. The Bad: My vehicle had a loose fastener on one of the wipers and the mechanic flagged it as a safety violation. The receptionist offered to sell me a single wiper for $25- what appeared to be a Service-Pro branded mixed-material wiper blade. I declined because I had a pair of pure silicone blades back at home. Even though windshield wiper violations are at the discretion of the inspecting mechanic, the receptionist said it could not be reversed. I told her that I would be back shortly after I installed my wiper blades at home up near Albion. The Ugly: When back home I gave a quick search about New York state inspections and wiper blades. The inspecting mechanic was supposed to run the windshield washer fluid and see if the blades functioned as intended. If the wipers were unable to function, they fail. Otherwise the wipers are doing their job and aren't a safety violation- regardless of a loose fastener. Batavia Automotive's mechanic did not test the wipers in this manner. The windshield was not wet when the car was returned to me just a couple of minutes after failure and my wipers had always functioned for me during rain/snow/windshield washing. I gave their Service-Pro wiper blades a search and found them elsewhere for around $11 per blade! Batavia Automotive also rents out U-Haul trucks. This might not seem like a problem to some people, but it greatly complicates matters inside their cramped parking lot they share with another business. It also shows that they are not focused on automotive matters and might just be looking to make a quick buck... After some digging around, Batavia Automotive does not appear to be locally owned or operated. The business is registered in Brooklyn and the property is owned by people from Massachusetts. I will not be going back to Batavia Automotive.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! Great service. I had a check engine light on which was giving me a problem for a month. They were very helpful and it was fixed in only two days. Which is amazing for a purge valve that they had to drop the subframe to get to. Amazing customer service too. The receptionist was very nice and knowledgeable in what was going on with my vehicle. Thank you very much.
Really nice people. Engine light came on during a holiday weekend Saturday. They were busy with other things, but took a look at my car right away, explained the two possible things going on, and let me know that I was good to drive back to my home state of Maine. Didn't even charge me. Thanks for helping out someone from 'away!'

Fast oil change took about 20 minutes to get an oil change.
Beware of this business that is running a scam. Took my car in for its annual inspection and failed because of wiper blades. The inspector never tested the wipers, but the secretary was eager to sell us new ones, encouraging us to spend $25 for each because coming back and paying $10 to be inspected again would be a bummer.
I procrastinated getting my vehicle inspected, they got me right in. I knew I needed tires for the car to pass inspection. They had what I needed in stock . Great experience

Quoted me over $100 dollars to change a headlight (one headlight) Not even including the bulb. Guy didn t sound like he knew how to change a wrangler headlight considering he said it would take at least an hour. On top of that I called 5 hours in advanced and when I got there he didn t know if he had a bulb in stock. Should have told me his price over the phone. Pep boys quoted me 40 dollar install.

I went in for a noise and trouble accelerating. They fixed a couple things, everything but the original issue. I still cant drive it. Service was friendly. But I have a feeling that since Im a small woman they found other issues to fix assuming I didnt understand cars. Nice people but unfortunately I wont be going back anytime soon
Completely misdiagnosed my coolant leak. It ended up being a broken hose clamp, but they told me it needed a $700 water pump job. I dont feel like they were being dishonest, but the techs just lacked the expertise needed to properly diagnose the problem.
Went in for an oil change. Was there maybe 20 mins tops.
Given wrong prices and kept changing the prices, which forced us to leave and go get it done somewhere else for no where near what they were charging
I asked if they could make the repair and they said yes. They took my truck apart, could not finish the job because they did not have the required tools and then had the audacity to charge me full rate for their time. Youve got to be kidding me. Horrible service. Oh by the way, I found the tool at NAPA for $12

On a Saturday in July, we were traveling on I-90 hundreds of miles from home on a family road trip when our vans battery light came on. Fearing it was an alternator problem, we first called the service department of a nearby dealership who said they were too busy and couldnt help. We then called Batavia Automotive and Matt said they were about to close, but he agreed to at least test our alternator. He immediately determined it was failing and recognized our desperation. He found a refurbished alternator nearby, picked it up, convinced his trusted mechanic to stay a little later, and had us on our way. In that moment he honestly could have charged us whatever he wanted to charge us. It was the best experience with a auto repair shop Ive ever had. I cant say enough good things about Matt and Batavia Automotive. I doubt (hope?) Ill ever be back in Batavia for auto repairs, but everyone in the Batavia area should choose this shop. Matt is a lifesaver.

So.. Im going to be honest my truck got a full synthetic oil fill last year.... Around 13k miles give or take 2k..lol...11 months counting... Ill get it done by Thanksgiving I guess.... Needless to say ... They got helluh good synthetic oil here!!!!!! ........ However... To say I have a stripped drain plug and NOT try to get it done bc of a 3.99$ part???. Ill buy a new pan and fix the entire issue of a gasket that TIME BUYER knew was bad. Legit covered the thing in silicone...er silly cone..lol ... Terrible garage ethics bad name for shops comes from inside shops....
Fast and friendly local service! I get my oil changed and car inspections here. They never seem pushy on adding more services, like air filters, wiper blades, etc. If there is an issue, they show it and tell you their suggestions. Great job!!!!

Didn t have a bad experience until I looked at my recipe details and seen they charged me for two window wipers at $25 And $28. Before agreeing to this I asked how much it would be and got told $21. Not only charged me more for them but never told me that it would be two. I thought it was $21 all together.

This business was AMAZING!!!! I had a breakdown on my way out of town. They checked it out, gave me a great quote, and fixed it right away. They didnt tell me to Come back tomorrow. Polite, friendly, reasonable, and HONEST! Im not local, but if I was I would take my car there for everything. Choose this business for all your automotive needs.

I went here for my check engine light. They said it was one thing, charged me, and it turned back on within a couple days. I returned to them. They said it was something else, charged me again, and my light turned back on on my drive home. I think theyre just charging me over and over as they play a guessing game for my cars problem. I think theyre ripping me off and thats unprofessional. I wish theyd just be honest with me that they have no idea whats wrong. I cant afford to keep paying for their mistakes.

I had a power issue with my injectors on my 2005 dodge ram 5.7 but because I tried to fix the problem myself first they didnt want to do job. I dont know how the shops today can call themselves automotive repair when they are not willing to work on cars. Must not be confident with their work

Dont go here for any serious issues. Personally I wouldnt have them change my oil. They dont know the difference between a slip yoke and an egg yoke. I had to explain to them 3 times on the phone that I wanted 4 new tires put on, and the one good tire I had I wanted them to put as the spare. Talking to the guy at counter is like talking to a brick wall.

I had not gone back to this place since my family sold it to Jiffy Lube 15 years ago. The Oil Spout, Inc., a very successfully operated, one-of-a-kind, built from the ground-up family business I grew 20+ years with was run into the ground by those purchasers, and I swore after my first visit to them, I would never go back. It is now called Batavia Automotive. I decided to step in, hoping things would be different than Jiffy Lube. It was! John, the technician who worked on my vehicle, shared with me that he had the utmost respect for his boss and how well his employees are treated. I knew right away this was the place I needed to make family again. I felt right at home. I highly recommend taking your car here for services! Not only was I in and out in less than a half-hour with none of the problems I had when I pulled in, I was faced with a great staff, who very much informed me about my vehicles problems. John is nothing less than incredibly helpful & friendly, as well as a highly-skilled technician whom I can trust. Customer for life. Might I add that this was the most inexpensive visit to a garage in my life! Thanks again John!
Would not recommend this place. They inspected my truck for a dealer before I bought it. The front end was in terrible shape, tyrods, rack, struts and shocks, stabilizer links, wheel bearings, and the alignment was terrible. Although all this stuff was wrong they still inspected it for their dealer friend. I brought it back there multiple times only for them to tell me that my rack was not bad and that it only needed shocks and struts and stabilizer links. I took it to firestone and they confirmed my rack was bad along with the struts and shocks and stabilizer links. BECAUSE THE FRONT END IS SO BAD I HAVE GONE THOUGH MULTIPLE SETS OF TIRES. & I got all that fixed and Im still having problems with my front end. This place should not have inspected this vehicle! Would not recommend this place or QUEST AUTO BROKERS AND SALES. THEY WORK TOGETHER.
John went above and beyond and way out of his way to help my boyfriend and i! my car starter went bad and he replaced it for me within the day and was super helpful and nice! definitely recommend getting work done by this shop! the shop wasn t even open and he opened it up for us to help us get home today.
What a joke they tell you oh yes we can do that, but when you get there its a different story. What a waste of time! Something as simple as a tire sensor! Instead of result got a bunch of excuses like we dont have a Jack to lift your truck , dont know if we can get that sensor. You had the information before I got to the shop a simple answer of we are not equipped to handle that job would have been better than having someone waste time coming to the shop.
