I have been here a few times for the state inspection and Eric and his team are always very friendly, helpful, and honest. I really appreciate having a nearby shop I can trust and feel comfortable going to.

This place is pure robbery Chris. The manager doesn t know anything Just walks around until 1 o clock until he goes home from opening. The shop always has new mechanics because they fire them within two weeks. Go there and look for yourself. You ll see a new mechanic within a week or two.

Incompetence at the highest level!! Arrogance at its best!! Attitude..well this is PRECISION TRANSMISSION!! This my fellow colleagues is what youll be billed for. Ive dealt with many automotive repair shops, but this one is special..Ed? I received a diagnostic report stating that the source of the problem could not be located. And yet, there is a bill attached for their incompetent failure to solve a simple headlight malfunctioning issue. YOUVE BEEN WARNED!!

Cannot say enough great things about this place. Eric squeezed me in last minute for an inspection and was kind enough to spend time changing my license plates when I couldn t remove a rotted screw from the old plates. Much appreciated!

I dont usually write reviews but I feel very moved to say great things about this place! They squeezed me in for an inspection after I got denied at 3 other places, including my usual mechanic. Everyone there is very personable and feels like a family vibe. Inspection, air filter, and wipers done plus Eric took the time and showed me where rats had been getting in under the hood and recommended how to make a spray to keep them out. I will definitely be returning!

In my experience, Eric is a top shelf human, keeps the cleanest shop in the neighborhood, and can be trusted to take care of an insurance claim! Precision Transmissions has been my go-to provider for oil changes, inspections or any mechanical issue for my Audi Q5. Once during an inspection they found a small crack in my front axle, which could have been very dangerous, called me and replaced the part immediately. Recently I was the victim of a hit and run auto collision, and took my vehicle to Eric for assistance. Eric knows New York regulations well, so when my insurance company s inspectors tried to skirt the regulations, Eric helped me understand what they were doing, and fought for me to ensure that my car was properly brought back to pristine condition. He did this with a calm and firm professionalism that only comes from years of experience and exceptional knowledge of his craft. Eric takes pride in his work and is a true gentleman. If he shows you his black, convertible corvette, just keep your fingers off the paint job ;-). Make that appointment, you will be happy you did!

Eric and his team are great. They ve always done excellent work on my truck from regular servicing to major repairs. Their pricing is very fair and the quality of work very high. You can tell a lot about a repair shop by the location and the first thing you ll notice about PT is that it is the cleanest mechanic you ve been too.

Idk how this place has 4.7 but maybe its the people with the fancier cars and more money that get the good treatment. My older car and myself didnt get the same treatment. Overpriced and always arrogant and entitled. Not the mechanic i can trust, sorry i know hes gonna reply in his usual i make no mistakes defensive ways but i wont reply back. Im not going to give him that privilege, i already got enough attitude and dont need to go thru it again. One time I brought a car he said that they dont do transmissions, well change the name of your shop mister. Theyre are better and humbler mechanics out there. No need to deal with his ego.

3 times I tried to get my car inspected...each time, I got an attitude from the guy at the office. 1st time, he wouldnt talk to me because I wasnt wearing a mask. Okay no problem, I went and got one. Then, he told me he cant help me because I didnt have an appointment. Again, no problem. I tried to make an appointment and he said theyre all booked. So I tried calling instead...I called and scheduled an appointment. My appointment was for 8am. I arrived at 8:05 but there were 2 cars already in the driveway. I waited a few minutes but neither car moved so I I had to find parking. Once I walked Im at 8:09 the same guy from before told me Well, sorry weve moved on since then. As hes telling me hes not sure when he can take my car, another man walks up with no mask and he not only proceeds to chat with him maskless, he tells him they can take him right away and help him find parking. Not sure if I look like someone this man hates but I guess this isnt the shop for me.

Eric and his team were wonderful! They were very professional and kind. Eric was able to figure out the problem with my vehicle that 2 other auto shops failed to do. Worst attitude.

Eric and the team were excellent. I had an appointment to check out my rear brake pads. They confirmed it needed changing and also spotted a missing bolt in my front wheel. They ordered the parts, changed my rear brake pads and rotor, and replaced the missing bolt all in one day, keeping me updated throughout. Transparent service and prices, high quality work and great communication! This will be my new go-to auto repair shop.

This shop is literally a life saver. Had diagnostic warning popping up on my car that wouldn t go away even when I cleared them. Took my car to dealership and they tried to say I needed my entire engine wire harness replaced and reprogrammed for $3300. Came in to see Eric and he was super transparent and informative. He provided multiple case scenarios and pricing upfront. Rye was also super helpful, professional, and nice at the front desk. They both made the entire process extremely easy, quick, and affordable. Ended up having my wire harness for my TPMS repaired and a few odds and ends replaced in less than 24 hours and just a couple hundred bucks. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this shop.

Eric and his crew go the extra mile. I have brought my car in many times for oil changes, inspection renewals, etc. I recently came in with a more substantial fix and had to leave my car for a couple of days. I chose an extremely hectic and busy week to bring my car in, and they still were able to accommodate my schedule and make it happen. Having worked in sales/retail/mom-and-pop businesses for years, I am really impressed with how gracious and patient Eric and the crew were with me and the other customers on a chaotic Friday afternoon something far from easy to pull off, and rare to do well. It is so clear that they know how to treat their people!

Precision has worked on my car two times now and did a fantastic job each time. They replaced my tires, then brake pads, and even fixed a stuck passenger side door, no charge, while doing other work. They are upfront with costs and timing and provide a reasonable price for the high quality of their work. I would certainly recommend them and plan on coming back for any future work I need done on my Ford Escape.

The owner is a fraud, his name is Eric. He tries to come across as a nice guy but he is the absolute opposite. With that being said, I brought my Benz there because it had a leak in the anti freeze hose, I paid for it to be fixed, not only did it not get fixed because the problem still exists, his INCOMPETENT workers that barely speak English (no disrespect) managed to stop my windshield wiper fluid from working. When I took the car back to the shop for this issue Eric claims they didn t touch that part of the car. Ok! When I brought the car here it was working. Needless to say I m going to take the car to the dealer to correct his mistakes and spend more money. At least at the dealer I will have a peace of mind! DO NOT GO HERE BY ANY MEANS! This shop doesn t care!!!!

Ive gone to Precision a few times now (my car is 15 years old) and every experience has been excellent. Eric is honest and straightforward and incredibly helpful with making maintenance decisions for an older car. His team goes above and beyond with customer service. A neighbor referred me to the shop, and I refer anyone I know with a car.

This was my 2nd visit to this shop, and I must say the service was 100% excellent!! Eric the owner offered me the best advise after inspecting my car and gave me a very good deal on the cost, he even did a few maintenance tasks free. The staff was professional and he lead by example I m happy to say I would recommend this shop to anyone just call ahead because their always busy but will do the best to get it done.

My husband and I brought in a used car we are interested in purchasing for a pre-purchase inspection. Eric took care of us every step of the way. We brought the car in at our appointment time and we waited while the inspection was being completed. It took about 45 minutes. Eric outlined all the issues he saw and even walked us through and showed us on the car each of the items so we could see for ourselves what he is talking about. He explained simply what it means and any potential problems it could lead to. Everything he saw was itemized and he gave us a ball park for repairs to keep in mind for if we do purchase the car. If we end up purchasing the car I would definitely have Eric and his team to work on it. They earned our trust!

Eric is just the sort of person you want to take your car to -- someone who actually cares about integrity and honesty, and most of all about his customers. I took a car to Eric for a pre-purchase inspection (the car was being sold by a private seller in Brooklyn), and Eric did the inspection and advised me not to buy the car. He would have easily said You could buy the car and then have me fix a few things, but he was super straightforward with me and said that given the problems he found, it wouldnt be worth trying to make the repairs. I dont live in Brooklyn, but I did, Id definitely be going back to Precision Transmission. Eric and his crew are basically the opposite of how most mechanics are -- they want to save you money and give you the best service they can.

If I could rate no star that would be fitting for this shop. The owner price gauges especially women and insurance companies. My car was in this shop for a month for minor scraps and dent and the owner still forced me to signed paperwork so he could charge the insurance company more money. Not to mention he cursed at me and called me names for not wanting to sign additional invoices. One of my worst experiences ever. Please do not patron this establishment.

Precision Transmission did an excellent job repairing our car and diagnosing the issue. They even took it in on a day that was really busy for them and made sure we got it looked at as soon as possible. It has been running perfectly since the repair and I am so glad to have such skilled and honest mechanics around that I can trust with any issues that arise in the future.

Stopped at Precision Transmission to speak with the the person in charge and was told that he did accept any automobile warranties of any kind. When asked why, he said I DONT DEAL WITH WARRANTY COMPANIS BECAUSE THEY TAKE TO LONG TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR AND HE DOESNT HAVE THE TIME TO DEAL WITH THEM. This is just a heads up....if you have an extended warranty for your vehicle, dont bother stopping by this place, they will not accept your vehicle for repairs.

Went for an inspection. Professional and easy to get an appointment. During the inspection they found a missing bolt on one of my wheels. They ordered a replacement but because it was slow to come, the owner/manager took the bolt from his own car and used it on mine! Thats amazing customer service and creative problems solving during COVID supply chain challenges!

Great experience. Came in for an inspection. Things were a little backed up when I arrived, but I was treated incredibly well and everything was dealt with flawlessly. Everybody gets backed up sometimes, and it was really nice to be treated so well, and not brushed off.

I arrived Tuesday May 26,2020 after 10 in the morning,for photo inspection for new auto insurance,i was told by a employee that he couldnt do it because a lot of other people. Needed the same thing and he was the only one doing it. And he had people/customers waiting till next week. I had photo inspection done in the past it doesnt take more than 10 or 15 minutes. The real reason for the drama i believe is photo inspection is free for the motorist!!

I got into a car accident and I took it to the shop which I was speaking to the owner of the shop and I ask him how much would it cause to fix my damages on the car He stated that I will have to pay a $500 fee for an inspection on the car which he would tell me and give me a list of all the parts the how much cost the car was there for 4 weeks never gave me parts list never gave me prices on how much the car will cost to get it fixed every week I will ask him and he will be rude and disrespectful and sound like I was being annoying when I just wanted my car he gave me a hand written sticky note with parts that the car needs so I decided to take my car out of the shop Because he never told me the grand total on how much the car is going to come out to the guy was being around the Bush all the time and when I took my car out he was being rude and disrespectful because I was taking my car Iout of the shop I would advise everybody to not come to this shop Especially black or Latinos

I cannot say enough good things. I had precision complete my auto photo inspection and my experience was impeccable. The appointment was completed on time, and swiftly. The owner was so kind and friendly, and gave me so much information. We had the nicest chat and my transaction was seamless. While I hope to not need the services of an auto repair shop, I will absolutely return to Precision Transmissions. And yes, this is an authentic review- I was truly satisfied and happy to have used them!

I brought my 2009 Charger in that I purchased used and Eric was able to take a look at it and fix some of the issues that I was having. He was very upfront about what needed to be done with the car as well as being very transparent about the work that should be done ASAP and the work that could wait for a few thousand miles before needing to be taken care of. The garage takes COVID-19 precautions very seriously. Everyone wears a mask and gloves, and they will not hand your car back to you until they have disinfected it. They disinfected my car right in front of me. The timeline Eric gave me to turn around my car was exactly right. Despite their busy schedule, it took less than a day to inspect the vehicle and it was ready to pick up the next afternoon with all of the repairs made. I would definitely recommend this garage to anyone - but also specifically anyone who may not know much about cars because Eric was incredible professional and transparent and never felt like he was trying to sell me something that I didnt need.

Ive been to a few auto shops over the years living in Brooklyn, and I would say that this is the place where I take my vehicle when I want things done right. The level of work thats done here has exceeded expectations on several occasions, and for someone like me who can put 20-25k miles on my vehicle in a year I appreciate the peace of mind that I get from knowing that everything done at Precision will keep me on the road for longer. I just had my yearly NYS car inspection here and Eric and his team did an excellent job. I made an appointment the day before, and Eric let me know that the inspection and COVID-safe sanitization would take 30-60 minutes total, so I went during my lunch. The total time spent was about 40 minutes and Eric and his team were welcoming, friendly, and efficient. It is clear that the team takes COVID precautions seriously, by mandating masks inside the garage and fastidiously sanitizing car interiors and keys before turning them back over to the owner. PSA: bring cash - their card minimum is $50 and NYS inspections are tax exempt (and therefore you can only pay for these in cash). I highly suggest using this business, just make an appointment first - they are in high demand!

I took my car because it was making a weird sound. They did a thorough inspection and got my car back on the ride in no time. The shop is extremely clean and the staff is nice and professional. I would recommend this shop if you re in the neighborhood.

I had the absolute BEST experience here. On my way to the shop to get an inspection for my new car, I blew two tires. I was really upset when I got there and Eric was so calming and helpful. He explained everything they were going to do and was able to get two new tires installed that night so I could pick up my car early the next morning. I was also super impressed with the COVID-19 safety protocols in place to protect both me and the staff. A really great experience from an incredibly honest shop. Will definitely be back.

Eric and his team are amazing! I cant recommend them enough! I initially went there to get our car inspected for insurance. They were professional, quick and very friendly. I made a mental note in case Id ever need anything. Fast forward three month and I was back with a broken bumper and a non-working washer pump. Not only did they fix both beautifully, kept me updated throughout the repair process and handled the insurance claim but they also did it with a friendly demeanor! Plus: Their COVID 19 protocol is spot-on and I felt very safe.

I brought my manual transmission hyundia elantra into Precision Transmission. The car s stick was sticking when I would shift in an out of gear. The shop manager Eric was very nice throughout the whole process. Instead of telling me I need a new clutch or new transmission, he wanted to first try to just change the fluid. After he changed the fluids the shifting problem went away. Spending just a couple hundred dollars rather than a new clutch, I was happy that he was straight with me and did not play games!

This place is very good. I made an appointment for the NYS inspection. Showed up a bit late, but the front desk was super nice. They quickly got on it. I was out of there after 30 minutes or so. Very good service

Precision Transmissions is the only place you should take your vehicle. They are not only knowledgable and up to date on the specs of repairing any vehicle, but also respectful, honest, and kind. Eric (and also now Stephanie) are the main front end staff who are able to assist you and answer any questions. They are speedy yet precise and are amazing at handling tough insurance problems. I first started going to Precision last July when I moved to Brooklyn and needed an inspection. Eric got me in same day and was polite, easy to work with, and he let me ask many many questions. The next visit my car door had frozen open during the freezing temperatures last winter and they helped me thaw it out and was able to drive it again within an hour. Once the car completely thawed and we learned the door handle had broken (from my repeated attempt to slam the door shut) they worked with the insurance to get it fixed in as little time as possible. My door handle is good as new and has worked fine ever since. Of course a month later someone hit me and I needed repairs again. Insurance caused several problems and the team helped me get my car in proper order without skimping on incorrect parts as the insurance mis-quoted. They made sure to get the correct parts and color matched the new parts so perfectly you couldn t even tell when they show you. Eric and the team now know me well and help me take care of little problems like fuses and the essential tire changes and oil changes. Usually I call in advance to schedule an appointment but depending on how busy they are they try to get you in same day. End of the month is the hardest of course because that is the busiest time for them so cut them some slack if you need something asap. But really. You can t beat the honesty, customer service, and quality anywhere else. I will always go to Precision Transmissions, even if I move slightly further away. Trust them and ask them questions. They are there to help.

Dependable owner and team who gives you a honest estimate on the work needing to be done. They even follow up with their work to make sure everything is working as you expected. They re my go-to mechanics, as I never have to second guess their work or integrity.

Friends let you down, jobs are terrible, love is a myth. Precision Transmission on Atlantic Avenue Brooklyn is the only thing you can rely on. Professional, friendly, honest, expert service every time. Been taking our car to PT for regular service for years. Never been disappointed or overcharged. Go early in the AM to avoid a wait. They do get busy, but thats because they are good. Turn around time on inspection and repairs still impossible to beat. Not telling you to get divorced but if you do, take your spouse s car to Precision before you sue to take possession.

As a fleet driver youre not always free to choose where you go for service--its really about whos approved the closest to where you are. Im so grateful that I matched with Precision Transmissions for my service and will now never take a personal or fleet car anywhere else! Their service was above and beyond--they took better care of my car than I even knew it needed, plus they made sure all of the little things were done (like my cabin filter that had never been changed!). I left telling everyone with a car that they needed to switch to Precision Transmissions. Came in for photo inspection. Horrible customer service, without any consideration for anyone s time. 5 people waiting with what sounded like an expected wait time of 2 hours just to take pictures. The woman at the front said she is busy running the shop and doing the photos. How about not registering yourself as an inspection site if you can t have a dedicated person for the job. If your customer service skills are this rude and ignorant, I can only imagine the way they fix your car. Stay away

Just moved down to the city from upstate NY and needed to get my car inspected. I called and was able to make an appointment for that day and the inspection went without a problem. I was a little nervous I was going to end up having to pay some extra fees or need something else done etc etc. That did not happen at all. The staff was extremely friendly and I was very pleased!

The staff is very rude here and they were not helpful. I needed an estimate and they were trying to price gouge by charging me for every single thing. All I wanted was a quote! I would avoid this place all together.

My experience at Precision Transmissions was stellar! As someone who doesnt know a ton about cars and doesnt regularly drive one in Brooklyn, Im always intimidated to get work done at a shop. My experience at Precision Transmissions was AWESOME! I called on a Wednesday to find out about them taking a look at my headlights for Friday morning. The person who answered the phone, Steph, was professional and courteous telling me that at that moment all the employees were out working on cars so that she would call me back. I couldnt pick up the phone when she called back, but she left a detailed message saying that I could stop by between 8:30 and 9am the day I needed and that if I had any problems, I could call back. It was super easy and hassle free to get in. Then, I arrived and was seen immediately. The staff was super nice, very punctual, and fixed my problem within minutes. I dont think I was there for 45 minutes. Not to mention, their prices were reasonable! Highly recommend this place!

Do NOT go here for state inspections go to SNJ Atlantic Auto down the street instead. I went to Precision for my annual state inspection. I chose it based off of reviews, but wish I had taken more time to read reviews specifically about how they handle state inspections (vs general repairs). While waiting in the office, I saw they hoisted my car up on a lift and started taking the tires off and I was beginning to get suspicious I had never seen that when I had had the car inspected before. Then they proceeded to tell me they were failing my inspection because I needed new brakes and rotors, which would run me $911 total. There was a woman sitting next to me in the waiting room who was also there for the first time to get an inspection, and they similarly told her that she needed three things fixed (also for ~$1000) or they would fail her car for inspection. I just had my car at the dealer last month to fix a ceiling leak, and asked them to do a multi-point inspection. The dealer (of all people) told me my brakes were fine, still had a half life on them so I knew something was fishy at Precision. I decided to pay the $37 inspection fee (which you have to do pass or fail) and took it to SNJ Atlantic Auto Repair instead. They did the inspection in minutes, told me my brakes were fine and were shocked when I told them what Precision was trying to charge. It s possible Precision is just overly cautious and overly precise as their name would imply. The woman in the office is very nice and gives you a warm welcome. The garage was very clean. If you re very meticulous about your car, then this might be the place for you. But I have a 10 year old car that is parked on the street most of the time, so I ll be going elsewhere.

Precision Transmissions is without question the single greatest repair facility that I have ever visited. Eric and his team operate with the highest level of professionalism and integrity in both the work they do on vehicles and in their dealings with customers. I was in a car accident over the summer and neither the first body shop that I had the misfortune of taking my car to or even my own insurance honestly and accurately assessed the extent of the damage to my car. It wasn t until I came to Precision that anyone was able to properly diagnose all of the problems with my vehicle and put together a plan for making the car safe and whole. Eric walked me through the entire process, made all of the information very clear and digestible to me as someone who knows very little about cars, and personally went to the mat for me against my insurance when they were reluctant to cover necessary work that their adjusters initially failed to assess. My insurance put up enough of a fight that a lesser body shop would have caved and settled for making incomplete repairs with shoddy parts, but Precision fought to make sure that the work was done the right way and that I was being taken care of. After months of dealing with phone calls with insurance agents transparently lying to me about the state of my car, I cannot express how grateful I am that the folks at Precision cut through the noise and told me the truth. Eric puts himself on the line to do right by his customers and ensures that every second of work that he puts into the vehicles in his shop yields quality results. I also want to give a special thanks to Steph in the front office for being a calming voice during a long and difficult process, and for just being the best in general. If I ever need any work done on my vehicle in the future, Precision Transmissions is the only place I will bring my car.

Professional, honest, and considerate, this will be the only shop I trust with my vehicles from now on.

Local and family owned car mechanic spot. The owner is so nice and cares about his customers. I ve taken my car here for inspections and oil changes and no problem. I was a little early on my inspection but they did a quick review anyway and let me know of any potential concerns when it came time to inspect. Also seems like they are gender/LGBTQ inclusive so it s nice to see a car shop that s not a total sausage fest.

Very clean, efficient and friendly auto shop. Eric is fantastic! After my experience today, I wont be going anywhere else for my car maintenance needs.

I took my car in for its annual inspection. Called and got an appointment same day. As ever Eric and his friendly team were professional and efficient. I was in and out in an hour. Its a super friendly place, with good energy all round. It almost makes you look forward to going to get your car taken care of (almost).

This place is close by but I never take my car here. The service is really bad and the owner/manager is very rude. I went to a place down the street that was much more accommodating.

I m very cautious about where I take my car because of my concerns over being ripped off. That said, I m so so happy that I did my due diligence and research and found Precision Transmissions. The owner, Eric, has been Thorough with his explanations of potential work that will be done, whether the work is needed and why, as well as how much it will cost. His crew is efficient and respectful. They used top quality parts and save the old replaced parts for their customers to inspect so we know we re not being ripped off. I ve also learned a little about my car because he s taken the time to show me what the issue was before and after the part was replaced or fixed.

I took my Tesla to Precision for a NYS inspection. Super nice staff all around. Extremely professional and knowledgeable. Eric noticed my right front fender trim was loose and tried to fix it for me....for free. I will gladly entrust them with any work on my Tesla outside of work that I am required to bring to a Tesla authorized service center (which I am hoping they will become one)!

They did a good job with the work, however, I did not like that there was dirt marks in parts of the interior, which I cleaned myself, although someone did come over to check on me when the person saw I didnt pull off. He offered to help me clean the interior but at that point I was practically done.

Simply the Best! Eric and his crew are fantastic- kind, patient, and informative. They wont hesitate to answer any question you have regardless of how uninformed, really a great combination and a very calming presence when the absolute worst happens.

I went here over the summer for my car inspection, they took me as a walk-in and I was out in a timely manner. They told me my exhaust would need replacing within the year, but didnt pressure me to change it immediately, which I appreciate. I came back when my check engine light came on, got my exhaust replaced and a few other item (coils, sparkplugs). They took me the same day I called and I picked up my car the next day! They are extremely professional, friendly, and fair. Eric is a great manager and fantastic human. He will personally make sure your car is ready to go. They are my go-to auto shop!
