Although I could only book an appointment online over a week away, my vehicle was towed to Gils on a weekend and they called two days later to get approval to start working on the vehicle. I added some items and they said OK without hesitation. Expert work and she runs beautifully. Gils treats my 1991 Jag XJS v-12 convertible like a queen whereas virtually all other repair facilities cant meet the challenge.

Jim updated me at every stage when my car arrived at the shop and then when they found each problem. They did a great job and fast amazing Im so happy

My truck was towed to Gil s needing a repair the day before I was scheduled to drive it across the country. I made Gil s aware of my time constraint and they had it repaired the next morning so I could depart. I have used Gil s service for 20 years and never had less than an outstanding experience. I have been a Gils Garage customer for years. late last year, when I purchased my 2019 Ford Escape, I called the dealer and asked how much they charged for an oil change? I was told I have to talk with the Parts Department first then the Service Department. Subsequently, I was sent to the Parts Department and placed on hold for approx 5 min. The Parts Tech came back with the wrong info as he looked up the parts for a 2.5L and I had told him I had a 1.5 engine. that was enough for me and hung up. I called Gils and Matt at the front desk gave me an immediate cost! This recent trip I met with Holly, very friendly and efficient! I no sooner handed her my keys and within minutes, my car was in the bay being serviced! Gils it is!!

I ve been a customer of Gil s for 30 years. They have always done right by me, as they did this time. Not as convenient as when I lived in Rexford (retired to Lake Luzerne), but well worth the trip.

Brought our 2011 CRV in to look at AC, brakes and muffler problems. They looked it iver and called before proceeding. With 196,000 miles on it, it seemed too much $ to repair the AC, but the repairs for brakes and muffler were done expertly.

I tried to replace a hub bearing on a Subaru. After struggling with it for several days, totally mangling it with a sledge hammer, slide hammer, air impact hammer, and finally an angle grinder with a cutoff wheel, Gils saved the day. Without an appointment, they were able to get the vehicle in relatively quickly and replaced both rear hub bearings for me. Cant thank them enough for this! They were extremely understanding with how I got to the point that I did, shared a few of their own horror stories with hub bearings and gladly said that they could help. Now, normally, I would expect a situation like this is a blank check. Not so for Gils! They were extremely reasonable and kept me informed throughout the process. I will definitely be back...hopefully before I start using an angle grinder again! Whole-heartedly recommend them!! Thank you, Matt and team!! Awesome people!

My experience at Gils was excellent people at counter courteous and working with Matt Brewster was a pleasure. My first time there will not be my last.

I caused a delay in my vehicle s inspection because I had just made a DIY repair and erased a code to reset the check engine light. I didn t drive it around nearly enough (40 miles, it needed 100!) after resetting it. They didn t complain and Jim even helped me use my own OBD 2 reader to know when I had driven it enough to finish the inspection. These people, and especially Jim in this instance, are the best!

Great service and always reliable! They do what s right for the customer without upselling. I thought I needed new tires but they let me know that I m set with my current ones until winter which was a huge relief! They caught an issue with my front struts during inspection and were quick with the repair after ordering the parts. Though I do recommend letting them know ahead of time what parts they need to order, just to make the process faster!

On my way to Gils Garage for an inspection on my 911 Carrera an unexpected event occurred. The clutch installed 6 years ago and with under 2000 miles had failed. It may have been caused from little use in the winter. Talking with Matt, the owner, he was able to work with me bringing the final cost down surprisingly low and with no charge for the tow. The sign of a great team rests at the leadership and that would be Matt. From customer service to the techs to the top I was always treated fairly and honestly. For quality and great service, I highly recommend Gils. Thanks to all the car is driving great.

Gill s Garage repaired my Mercedes C300 when Keeler Mercedes service center could not. After two years of back and forth with Keeler Mercedes, Gills identified the vehicles problem quickly and completed the work timely and professionally. My car broke down in Schenectady and had to be towed to Gil s garage in Burnt Hills. That was late Thursday afternoon. Gil s garage called me Monday with the estimate and said it would be ready Tuesday or Wednesday. It was ready on Wednesday. My husband and I had many cars worked on at Gil s through the years. I had an appointment for my starter at a garage Ive been using in Middleburgh for 10 years, but my starter failed a few days before my appointment and I was at work in Mechanicville, so I had it towed to Gils. Id never used them before but the reviews looked good and it was within the 20 miles my insurance would allow for towing. I let them know it was my starter and it had already been tested. When they called me they told my its definitely the starter, they tested it, and that it would cost $970. My garage in Middleburgh was charging me $500. I looked up the job on All Data and it says 1.5 hrs labor. I asked for a breakdown of what they were charging and they were charging me for 2.5 hours of labor, regardless if it actually took that long. He mentioned a fee to test the starter +which can be done for free at any AutoZone, etc ), and then told me the starter was $470 and will be covered by their garage warranty. I asked to use a Napa starter that comes with a lifetime warranty and he told me they dont do that. Hes used those before and they dont always work then Im looking at twice the cost for labor, which seemed like a scare tactic to me. Ive used them without problems and know of plenty of garages that use them as well. I found I could have my car towed to my garage 40 miles away for $220 so I let them know I was having my car picked up because it was saving me a couple hundred dollars even with the tow. He said I could buy a starter from Napa and drop it off if thats what I wanted but they wouldnt warranty it. At that point I had already lost trust in the person I was dealing with. He wasnt coming down on the labor costs. I had my car towed to a garage I know and trust and saved a few hundred dollars. I felt like they were trying to take advantage of me. He lied to me about the time the job would take and was unwilling to use the part I wanted until I threatened to have my car picked up. I feel like they will try to rip you off if your car is towed there and they think youre stuck, and also if you dont know basics about car repairs and costs. They were charging almost double what my garage charged and Ive never had an issue with my garage. I feel like theyre always finding ways to save me money. My first Honda Accord was taken care of by them and it went close to 300K before it died. I think Gils is ripping people off. Over charging for labor and using scare tactics to inflate costs of parts, etc.

1st time there. Called for a repair quote. Took 4th day to get it, cause i had to call back and ask again. Then quote was higher at checkout cause the person quoting forgot a couple small parts tht were involved. I can deal with that. The lack of call backs w this place has been an issue in the past as well but i ended up using other places cause Gils tends to be more expensive for same repairs. I use Mohawk Honda alot. Not sure whyd thy be more expensive than Mohawk. Mohawk has much higher overhead!!! Is what it is i guess. I will call around and always get best price. But Gils....i need someone to actually call me back!!!! Lol

After having my car checked at the dealership, I was told I had a leaky transfer case. They had just completed the NYS inspection and it passed. The dealer said I had to have it done right away. I didnt see any evidence of any leaks on the garage floor. So my daughter recommended Gils garage. They checked the car, very thoroughly, even took pictures of the undercarriage and showed me that nothing was leaking. They even didnt charge for the visit That was a blessing. I am on a fixed income and every bit of savings help Gils garage is honest and explain whats going on. They are my mechanics for the long haul. Nice to have honest people in such a corrupt world. Many prosperous years for them. .

First time here for an auto repair, and so glad I chose Gil s. Friendly service timely . Honest (didn t feel pressured into any unnecessary repairs like prior places I have gone) . And affordable!

My visit to Gil s was a simple NYSI for our 22 Telluride. I was asked once if there was anything else we might need and that was it. The repeated cross selling at the chains can get very irritating, hence why we go to Gil s.
