As long as Gils stays in Halfmoon I will continue to go there. The only reason I have not been there I. The last two years was because of free maintenance from Toyota. After being duped (shorter than advised of my free service) and being charged $249 for an oil change and tire rotations, never again. I used the drop off appointment when I dropped it off the young lady at the counter after I asked for a rough ti e it would be done said later in The afternoon, truck was ready by 1 pm, much earlier than I had expected. Thank you Gils you have a customer for life!!!!

Wow, these guys are awesome! I made an appt earlier in the week for a drop-off inspection and when I picked up my vehicle they had also washed it Dunno about you but car washes aren t cheap and the fact they did it for such an inexpensive service as an inspection tells me (and you) everything you need to know: excellent customer service and care. But, here s where it gets super extra-special! Between the time I scheduled and picked up my car, my husband ruptured his patellar tendon while we were skiing. What do skiers have? Studded snows. Where does my big (usually) strong husband keep the second set of wheels? Our basement. Im 60+ and have no safe way of getting those wheels out of the basement to have them swapped. Soooo, while picking up my car, I asked the weirdest question (ya know, after explaining the sitch): is there any way I can pay you to please come get the spring wheels outta the basement and change them for us? Theyre, like, sure, but were not gonna charge you bc youre right around the corner (prolly 3-4 miles). Whaddya mean you re not gonna charge me?!? Gil s is not simply a business, they re a neighbor the best kind

Replaced rear engine seal and clutch including flywheel on a 2008 BMW. The repair was done in a timely fashion and ended up less costly as some aftermarket parts were used.

Had a random problem with my truck. Something was causing the drive train to suddenly jolt, but no engine code. Gils tracked it to the crankshaft sensor randomly failing and misfiring the engine. Problem solved!!

The service was done in a timely manner. The bill was less than the dealership where I bought the car and saved me a 26 mile drive to and from.

What a disappointment! After making a confirmed appointment 2 weeks ago, and following up with a phone call about the work to be done...only to show up and told they dont have me in for any appointment and dont know anything about it,cant find any of my info even after showing them my online appointment and then tell me its super busy and they might not be able to get to it and even do the work we made the appointment for. Complete run around and waste of time and money.

The technician contacted me & gave his honest opinion that the car had multiple issues & it wasnt really worth repairing. A less honest shop wouldve done the repairs & sent me on my way knowing my vehicle wasnt worth fixing. After deciding to surrender the vehicle for salvage, Art in customer service gave me some great advice to get the most value for my SUV. Thank you to both the technicians & Art for helping me navigate the process.

I called on a Friday afternoon and was able to book an appointment for the following Monday for a rear brake job on my 2020 Lincoln Corsair. I was greeted with a friendly smile and by 5:30 that day my car was ready. I supplied my own parts (we thought we could do this ourselves....) and Gils did the work. Wonderful atmosphere. All my questions were answered and I was treated with respect. Bravo, Gils!

I really appreciate the honesty and transparency Gils provided in addressing my concern. I had a humming sound coming from what I thought was problematic wheel bearings so I scheduled an appointment. AJ identitfied the issue was with tires that had uneven treadwear. Additionally my front brakes seem like theyre wearing thin but I was told that I still have at least 1 mm before I get to the warning range at which point they would recommend getting them replaced. At the end I wasnt charged for any of the services as they could diagnose the problem quickly. This tells me that Gils values an ongoing relationship and I will definitely be bringing back my car and my wifes car for any and all our servicing needs. Thank you for your excellent service!

I got quoted a price of $600 for repair at AAA. Gil s said they could do for same price . It ended up costing over $1000 due to a problem that was more work. They called and left message which must have been a wrong # ( I had no calls from them). They kept my car 24 hours without calling me back and without doing the repair. I had to bring it back for another half day. AJ was very nice. I just can t be without my car like they assume I can.

I made an appointment to obtain a NYS Inspection. I was able to drop my car off the night prior to my appt. Gils completed the work and called me before noon to let me know my car was ready. Great job!

Time for brakes again. I waited until it was metal on metal. Called Gils and AJ got me right in next day and got my front brakes done in one day. Quick, professional, quality work, Awesome place.

Very knowledgeable about my wife s Mini Cooper and they ve always been very honest. I ll always go back to Gil s for future maintenance on all of our vehicles.

I have a Ford Explorer that has had an issue for over 6 months. The local Ford dealership, after much ado and expense, was unable to resolve the problem. I made an appt for my car on Wednesday. I dropped it off just after noon on Tuesday, based on my schedule By Tuesday night they had already looked at the car and gave us an update. Resolution by 9am on Wednesday. Phenomenal!!

Went there for the 1st time several weeks ago with a a check engine light problem. Was told there would be a $179 charge for a computer diagnosis. When I returned I was told the previous garage who changed the oil and filter failed to reset the computer. Gil s reset at no charge and I went away a vey happy customer. Service manager at front counter was very pleasant and courteous. I highly recommend Gil s Garage.

Sadly, I have had to learn much in order to protect myself and my wallet, fool me once! But, I called Gil s having armed myself with enough knowledge to pretty much fix my own vehicle and knowing exactly what I needed done. All of my fear and preparation was for not! They were always honest and upfront with everything! Very understanding and accommodating. I was allowed to supply new parts and ask for their predecessors return, no questions asked! I never felt upsold or taken advantage of. I have never been so well respected and fairly treated. I will absolutely recommend this garage to anyone and everyone!

I normally work on my own vehicles but I needed to get new tires mounted so decided to get some other stuff done at the same time. Wheel bearing, alignment, oil change, etc. I supplied the parts needed and the service team did a great job of communicating with me. They didn t try to sell me on any extra work and the pricing was fair. I d highly recommend this place to others especially if you re tired of traditional dealerships and the upsell song and dance they always push (new brakes, batteries, etc.).

This was the first time I went to Gils I was very impressed with the service. My son told me his boss goes there all the time and always gets good results so I thought I would give them a try. Very glad I did ,I usually do most of my own work but dropping a gas tank to change a fuel pump didnt sound like a drive way job, so I had my mustang towed there and Im back on the road again !!! I also was happy to see I got a 2 year 24,000 mile warrenty on the work done ,cant beat that . My wipers were stuck at a 90° angle to the hood. I went to Gil s and they got me in immediately . They determined the problem to be frozen linkage and let it sit overnight in the shop. I greatly recommend them because of their honesty and quality of work

Gils did a great job diagnosing a repair I needed. I took our Chevy to Mohawk, and they were clueless. Then another local repair shop, and Gils was the third location we tried. They diagnosed and fixed the issue quickly. Now our car runs great. I think it was a little pricey, but Id rather have a resolution and trust our mechanic. Great job to the Gils team.

Our issue was looked at by the dealer. We were given a quote. We then took the car to Gil s. They suggested doing only part of what the dealer recommended. For the age of our car and the miles on it the other work was not necessary. I appreciate their honesty!

Stopped in at Gil s garage after the dealership offer a crazy high estimate to fix a clunking noise in my steering wheel. So I left that high way robbery establishment and headed to Gil s. The service man was great in explaining what the problem most likely was the culprit. He gave me an estimate that was way lower than the dealer. I know what a shocker! Anyways the day of the appointment they called and said indeed it was the problem they anticipated but the best part was that the estimate was much lower then quoted me. Now that was the icing on the cKe cake that these guys are honest and will take care of you. Gil s automotive is my new place to take my car for repairs! These guys were wonderful. I recently went to them for the first time to have my brakes checked, spark plugs replaced, and to have my 60k mileage maintenance. They were explanatory, transparent, and so kind. They actually took the time to walk through what they did and what things looked like for both me and my husband. Easy drop-off and pick-up too. I also got in pretty quickly (within a week). Cant wait to see them again for my next maintenance check!
