Rude. I called requesting to have an estimate given to me prior to a tow service after being recommended to use this company by my mechanic. The person who answered the phone didn t want to give an estimate, was rude over the phone, and very blatantly hung-up on me. It s getting harder and harder to find businesses who value their customers and customer service the way that they used to.

WARNING this clown is a rip off. This past weekend he took advantage of my 17 yo who ended up in a ditch while avoiding a sliding car due to weather. The total cost after towing and storage on his lot from Saturday at 8pm until 8am Monday morning cost $615. I feel like weve been swindled. If we couldnt afford this, the car would still be locked up in his lot!!! If I could give a MINUS 5 STARS I would.

My mom took her car there for AC diagnostics - AC is blowing hot air. My mom has bad English so after she paid a $150 fee with her credit card I called the shop to get the diagnostics results. First red flag was that they charged $150 instead of promised $120, turns out they took advantage of her bad English and did a NYS inspection even though it wasnt due for another 7 months. I started talking to Trevor (owner, I assume) about AC and he said that the AC was broken during prior repair elsewhere and they decline further service on it. I started asking for options on how to repair the AC since we just paid $120 to get a path forward, he became argumentative and replied with whatever floats your boat, but we decline any further service on the car. I asked if we can decline his diagnostics charge since my mom is on a fixed income and now needed to start over at different shop. Trevor proceeded to curse me out over the phone and hang up. My mom was in her car ready to leave as she checked out with receptionist and got her keys back. Trevor proceeded to flag her down and aggressively told her to get out of the car and to give him car keys back. My mom did not know what was going on and gave him the keys, he then moved the car behind a locked gate. When I called back to ask what was happening and why he took the car back after we completed the transaction, he said that he refunded the credit card payment and will accept cash only by 5pm otherwise there will be a $75 daily storage fee. My mom tried to go back to tell him that she had only $60 cash on her -- Trevor screamed at her to get out of his shop in front of other customers. Fortunately, my brother was in the area and had cash on him, otherwise my mom would be stranded in 90 degree heat without means of transport. We should have called the police, but my mom was already distraught and wanted to get out of there asap.

Ive been going to Trevs since I moved here 12 years ago. Always honest and great service - never even think about going anywhere else!

Recently I went to Trevs to have my brakes checked after being told by a National dealership that replacement at 38000 miles was recommended. I had been experiencing no brake issues prior to this point. Trevs checked all four brakes and informed me that I still had 50-75% brake life left. Thank you Trevs for saving me hundreds of dollars on replacement brake pads but more importantly for your Honesty. That trait is very rare in the automotive repair business today.

Unprofessional, rude, and unnecessarily hostile. The staff displaced their business practice issue with my insurance company, onto me though I had no control over either sides business choices. Ultimately this effected me, though I had done nothing wrong. Avoid at all cost!

Dealership couldnt figure out the problem. Decided to bring the car to Trevs. After I first contacted Trevs, I brought it there the very next day and within a couple hours, they figured out the problem and I already had my car back. Amazing fast service! Highly recommend!

It was pretty pricey but honest service. Your chances for better prices are better at the Jiffy lube, Valvoline and the like.

My vehicle engine needed to be replaced due to a flaw in the makers engine. Thanks to Trevs regular maintenance and records sent to dealership my entire engine was replaced free of charge. My 2016 94,000 mile vehicle now has a NEW zero mile engine. The engine is part of a large class action lawsuit. After sitting for 76 days waiting for a new engine. I needed a new battery. Trev to the rescue!!! Thank you TREV!

I had to have my Audi towed when it was completely dead. Could not get the car to shift into neutral, therefore a very difficult situation for any tow truck. We had one company unable to tow it. Trevs worked hard to get it done and was very friendly in a very stressful situation. We are grateful for their help.

They accepted a tow job from AAA for a vehicle 5 miles from their address. They kept us waiting for 2 hours then no show. AAA found another provider and another with another hour wait.

I was in a complicated situation this past weekend as my car had broken down while in the Albany area, while driving through from Buffalo. My car was inoperable and needed to get back to Buffalo, so I contacted AAA. Three other companies had declined the job, but Trevs not only took the job, but was great to work with at every stage. The shop reached out to me to confirm every detail and Chris, the driver, arrived within 50 minutes of their taking the job. Chris was very helpful throughout the entire process, the truck was quite well maintained, and I was back in Buffalo in relatively little time. They could very easily have turned down the job, but they delivered in every respect, making a very stressful and logistically difficult situation much easier to handle.

Never steered me wrong or tried to upsell any unnecessary repairs. Honest guy with a good crew. Everytime Ive used this place the work is done well and in a very reasonable amount of time.

Had a Chevy Impala with an electrical issue. Brought it to Trev sometime over the rainbow with a misfire issue. He listened intently to the problem but my coil packs are still malfunctioning. I tried my best to listen to the spark plugs but they make a clicking sound. Now I have blow by coming out of my PCV valve. Dont know what to do here. Maybe get a tire rotation next time. Impella cant go too far now call him up on the telephone trips if he dont know what to do we not sure. Guess we have to listen to One night in Bangkok again.

Our new favorite mechanic! They picked up our suv yesterday and had it fully repaired today! New muffler system and e-brake. Very knowledgeable, honest, and reasonable. Quality work. They also did a reinspection on our other car which as it turned out passed just fine despite what that chain location said. Turns out they see a number of vehicles from that chain location. Save yourself the trouble, go to a real mechanic first. Lesson learned. Trevs is our place from now on.

Honest. Support local business that you can trust. I have brought my car to Trevs the past 11 years. I am not a car guy, so having a trusted auto mechanic is very valuable. There have been many times where trevs, knowledge has saved me hundreds of dollars. He will help walk you through whether or not its worth it to make the auto repair. He says things like, if youre willing to live with a little bit of squeaking, the car will be just fine and you dont need to repair it. He has my trust.

I have a 2018 Subaru Impreza outback with 75389 original low miles. I brought the vehicle to Trevs on July 10th 2020. I knew the vehicle needed new brake pads. However, Trev insisted it also needed all new rotors and calipers. So glad he is here for his customers.

I needed routine maintenance on my 2005 honda civic, in accordance with the factory service manual. This involved replacement of the timing belt, ATF flush and replacement, replacement of spark plugs, oil and oil filter change. Trevs automotive, not only completed the entire job in less than 1 shift, but they completed the job within the price estimate. I highly recommend this shop for their professionalism, and attention to good customer service. Will definitely use again.

Have been going to Trevs for last couple of years because I couldnt find a decent mechanic in the East Greenbush\Castleton area. Hes been spot on with my companys vehicles so decided I would give him a try Could not be happier. The work is done right the first time, cost is reasonable and he has a quick turn around. Trev has also been helpful pointing out what repairs I should consider in the future ie the transmission pan will need replacing sooner than later and the differential seals are starting to leak. Like I said couldnt be happier.

I do not recommend this place to anyone. I am so livid over what just happened to me at Trevs Automotive. To make a long story short, I had went to them because my car randomly shut off for no apparent reason. I asked them to just check it out because my check engine light was on and I was concerned. They ran a diagnostic on the vehicle and it turned out that I needed a gas cap because I some how lost my original one. Anyways, I expected to pay around 20 dollars for a new one and pay for the little labor they spent to figure out what was wrong with the vehicle. They didnt find anything wrong with the vehicle except for the gas cap issue. So the total bill was $98.08. I never had a break down of cost before they preformed a diagnostic and they never asked permission to preform the service. To me, I find that good business would be to break down what service they would be performing and what those services would cost before carrying out such duties with the paying customer. I shared my frustrations with the employee over the phone and such person said that I must be on drugs and that I was out of line for sharing such concerns. He also continued to say that I need to grow up and that I have an attention span and common sense of a flea. He also was cursing me out and saying the most repulsive derogatory names. If anyone is reading this, do not give them your business. They do not deserve your hard earned money and are not only unprofessional but also unethical in their business practices. I was a repeat customer but due to this event and unethical business practice, I am not going there again. Please do not go there, you will only regret the money you spent but also you may not even get your car fixed because of their inept mechanics and owner. One week later Ive now just discovered that some of my lug nuts were missing and loosened from my driver side front wheel. I had to get it towed to another company and they said that if I had driven my vehicle 100 yards further, that I would have wrecked or caused an accident. Isnt that weird that after arguing with the owner and him saying things that were unprofessional and inappropriate, that would happen. Once again, do not go there.

Mechanic about as dumb as my lug nut. Going on the highway near Exit 11 my wheel start wobbling uncontrollably. Pull over to the side of the road and bingo! Someone must have been absent on lugnut day because I was missing two! Tried to call and never received a return call. Hope they dont service their own U-Haul trucks. Wouldnt be wanting to rent one of those if the wheel comes off. Its where the two lug nuts joined together on my rim. Not that hard to follow. Paid $100 for The Works package and this is what I get. Aggravation is unneeded. I am not going back. I know how to tighten my own nuts. FYI TO THE OWNER WRITING IN ALL CAPS REPEATEDLY SHOWS HOW THICK HEADED AND IGNORANT YOU ARE. GOOD DAY.

I stopped by here a while ago to rent a small uhaul trailer. I see they don t even have uhaul anymore, interesting. Anyway, I stop by to pickup the trailer, this was a Friday evening and there were a couple other people there for uhaul rentals. So the place was busy with one gal working. My tow vehicle was a Ford F-350 dually. The truck was obviously made to tow far, far more weight than what you could ever load onto a puny little uhaul trailer. The gal at the counter turned me away because she couldn t find where it said the capacity of the hitch. I looked at her and chuckled a bit saying to her, ma am, are you sure you couldn t find it - it s Dual wheeled pickup, it has an enormous hitch mounted directly to the frame rails of the truck from the ford factory, please tell me you re joking, right? (I doubt you can buy this truck without a factory mounted hitch...). She apologized nicely, and said nope sorry I don t see it, can t do anything for you because uhaul policy requires the capacity to be listed on the hitch. Then she says If the owner was still around, he d perhaps let it slide, but he has already left for the day so I can t let you rent the trailer . I rolled my eyes and scratched my head in disbelief and quietly walked out. I make the trip home in total disbelief for the ridiculousness of what just occurred - and quite frankly very annoyed that I d now have to race to another uhaul rental place before they closed. Again this is a Friday evening and I need the trailer for a weekend trip. Once home, I get under the back of the truck to look for the capacity on the hitch, wipe some dirt off the hitch and bam - there it is, clear as day. Absolute lazyness on their part. Conclusion: they were busy, and couldn t take 30 seconds to find the capacity and just turned the business away to accommodate other people who were there to rent perhaps more expensive trucks etc. I will never go back to this place for anything. Note: this is not a fictional post, I certainly am a real person..

A few years back I had a Plymouth Voyager minivan blow a transmission and when Trev did the work on it for $2,500 rebuild it didnt function properly after he did it. When I went to pick up the vehicle they never reattach the back up lights and with the transmission being rebuilt the car didnt shift out of first gear. When I brought the vehicle back they remove the transmission shift modulator and in the process broke off one of the connector points where the screw attaches it to the vehicle. Then called me and texted me with a picture with a drop of water inside the harness connector point and said that it was filled with water. I looked at the picture and saw no corrosion and only one drop of water in the picture when I went to I l he said that it had already dried up and it was nothing to show me. I confronted him on the fact that the shift modulator had been broken upon removal in said that I wasnt going to pay him for a new one cuz he wanted to charge me for a new modulator and labor cost to install. When I said that he should pay for it cuz he broke it and couldnt prove that there was water in the harness connector he threatened to push my vehicle into the road and told me to get the hell out of his store and dont come back.unfortunately I found this guy to be a complete con artist and a scammer and I would never recommend him to anyone find a better place like Opitz in Schenectady for transmission work.

Highly recommend Trev! My 2011 Hyundai Elantra needed some work and Trev told me exactly what was wrong with it, nothing less, nothing more. Broke down prices for me and told me what was needed as compared to what is more of just an inconvience at the time. Very quick about getting you in especially with an appointment! After bouncing around a few repair places in town I tried Trevs. It has the advantage of being within walking distance of home. So far everything has been done well, within reasonable time, and relatively inexpensively. A couple of more such experiences and I will likely up them to a 5. It would be good if they could upgrade the waiting room a little, cause sometimes I do prefer to just wait instead of walking home.

Went there to get a u haul 26 footer. They had the truck but made me park half a mile away to church parking lot. They said their lot was full for automotive shop. Dont rent your trucks out if you cant accommodate all of your customers. I shouldnt have to park half mile away if Im paying to pick up a truck. It makes no sense and I was the only car parked at the church parking lot.

I have used Trevs multiple times, from having them come Tow my truck, help with water in my gas tank, or just a full system clean on an old 99 Jeep, the workmanship and communication has been great. Prices are that of most mechanics, so not cheap - but good quality work.

My wife had our Lincoln Aviator towed to Trevs a month ago. They even got into a little tiff on the phone about the repairs when he called with an estimate. She is an extremely difficult woman to deal with she grew up in a garage. She was extremely satisfied with the work and pricing. She came home handed me the bill and was very happy with the work. She couldnt stop bragging to friends she found a great garage and a good mechanic. We have been to a few other garages in the surrounding area and got nothing but Bamboozled and ripped off. I have to say after spending $900.00 we are completely satisfied. Were having another family vehicle towed into Trevs tomorrow. I know nothing about vehicles and everything about Harleys. Im a hardcore biker with a hardcore wife and if this garage fits her standards then their the best in my book. We live in a society were people are quick to judge and think their getting ripped off. I can assure you that Trevs Auto is fare, honest and above all trying to meet everyones standards. To those who love to resort to being a keyboard warrior and posting negative reviews on the net. So amazingly helpful. I was in a pinch and needed a car towed immediately and they had a guy to me within the 10 min drive from their office to my location. The guy knew what he was doing and was great. I would SOOO recommend them.

I had put in a service request through AAA. Trevs Automotive showed up promptly. The mechanic was professional, efficient and very knowledgeable. Communication through the whole process was also exceptional. Highly recommended.

Car was towed by trevs. I called several times and tried to get the car. Dispatch office said everyone was gone for the weekend and theres no one to available to get the car out. No one available to get the car for 4 -7 days. UPDATE Trevs automotive apologized add waved some fees in honor of Christmass. Visiting today and will cjange my rating. If this is how they do business i will definitely use them in the future. If all goes well i will be completely changing this star. Ty for being awesome.

Total crooks. My insurance agent just called trevs to recover a reciept from a winch out so I could have it reimbursed under my insurance. It was less then a month ago. The individual that answered the phone stated that the bill is to old and they dont have it. When asked if he could just write a reciept up and fax it, He literally said theirs nothing I can do and hung up the phone on my agent. Scummy shady company the driver probly pocketed the cash and wrote nothing up. AVOID THIS COMPANY. Hope the IRS never audits you guys. That will be my next phone call

Rude and obnoxious! I would give NO STARS if I could. Ridiculous towing fees, unreasonable, and will NOT work with you. I would suggest calling ANYONE else. Every person I spoke with there was not understanding or kind, they hung up on me.

I am a long time Trev customer. I am always treated fairly and his entire team is competent, professional, and skilled at what they do. His estimates are accurate and his prices are competitive and the work on my many cars has always been done correctly and at a fair price. I recommend his shop without reservation.

I needed a simple tow hitch install on my wifes Subaru. I was renting a U-Haul from Trevs for a separate matter and thought just do everything in one place. I called and got a quote of 264 dollars (dont remember the change) which I agreed to. I know this quote was inline because my father had just gotten a tow hitch put on his Subaru for 230. The price difference was in the special tow hitch needed for her Impreza rather than the more generic used on his Outback. My wife brought the car in. The install time was double what we were quoted, annoying but not much more than a minor inconvenience. The problems started when I got the invoice from my wife. She wasnt aware of how much of a deposit I made (199) so when they charged her 190 she handed them my card and paid. The garage saw that they werent dealing with me but someone who was simply dropping the car and took advantage. They over charged by 125 dollars. When I called to calmly talk to the owner, Trevor, I was met with lies, insults, and swearing. He didnt remain professional for two minutes. To me this is a further admission of his guilt in this matter. Im taking it up with the credit card company. DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Low class, unprofessional thieves.

Ive been a customer for over 4 years now and Trevs is the best in the area. He takes time to explain stuff and gives a heads up what needs to be done in the future regarding maintenance. All 3 family cars go to him.

Went to Trevs with a few problems....Wasnt even sure if some of them could be fixed. But trevs took good care of me and diagnosed each issue separately and called me with an estimate. One day and a couple parts later, I was on my way. Which considering the quality of work done, id do it all over again. thanks guys !!!

Had a clutch kit replaced in my truck 4 months ago. Now it needs to be replaced again. Try to contact Trevor all day regarding this. Hes always with a customer or on the road..... But will call right back. So much for standing by their work, and so much for quality work

Trev has been taking care of my vehicles for over 25 years now, always doing a great job. Most recently I brought in an older Dodge Caravan with serious brake and front end problems. It came out of his shop handling perfectly, and the bill was right on estimate. Another job well done.

Charged us $900 and never fixed the problem! Seriously? I dont see how they justify this. Now Im out of money and still have a car thats not running. Would have respected them more if they were just honest and said they couldnt do it. Sorry Trev but no... vehicle still skipping and running rough absolutely the same as when we brought it in.

NOT SURE HOW THE AUTOMOTIVE SIDE IS BUT RENTING A U-HAUL FROM THIS LOCATION MAY HAVE POSSIBLY AMOUNTED TO THE WORST CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. I RENTED A VAN LAST MINUTE AT 6:15PM BEFORE THEY CLOSED AND WAS THANKFUL THAT THEY HAD ONE AVAILABLE. I DISCUSSED HAVING THE VAN BACK THE SAME NIGHT THINKING THAT IT WOULD BE POSSIBLE AS I WAS ONLY MOVING TWO COUCHES. THIS WAS NOT SET IN STONE AND THE RENTAL CONTRACT GUARANTEED ME 24HRS AS I WAS CHARGED THE FULL $19.95 FOR A DAILY RENTAL. THAT NIGHT FAMILY ISSUES AROSE AND I DID NOT HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO BRING THE VAN BACK THE SAME NIGHT BUT WAS ABLE TO GET IT BACK THE NEXT DAY AROUND 1PM. THIS CLEARLY SATISFIED THE 24HR RENTAL AGREEMENT AND I EXPECTED TO ONLY GET CHARGED $19.95. WHEN I RECEIVED MY BILLING STATEMENT I REALIZED THAT THE COST HAD JUMPED TO $69. CONFUSED, I CALLED TREVS AND SPOKE WITH THE SAME MANAGER I HAD THE NIGHT OF THE RENTAL. SHE PROCEEDED TO TELL ME THAT I WAS CHARGED TWO DAYS FOR THE RENTAL AS SHE HAD DECIDED TO DOUBLE-BOOK THE VAN AND THAT BECAUSE OF THE INCONVENIENCE I WOULD NOT BE REFUNDED. DURING OUR DISCUSSION IT HAD NEVER BEEN MENTIONED THAT THE VAN NEEDED TO BE RETURNED THE NIGHT BEFORE AS IT WAS GOING TO BE PROMISED TO ANOTHER CUSTOMER. ADDITIONALLY, SHE CLAIMS THAT THEY RENT ON A PER DAY BASIS WHICH IS APPARENTLY ARBITRARILY DECIDED BY THEM WHAT CONSTITUTES AS A DAY. THIS ARGUMENT DOESNT MAKE SENSE SUCH THAT A DAY IS TECHNICALLY 24HRS AND IF I HAD RENTED THE VEHICLE WITHOUT A CONVERSATION SHE EVEN ADMITS THAT I WOULD HAVE ONLY BEEN CHARGED A DAY IF RETURNED WITHIN 24HRS...WHICH IT WAS. FINALLY, AFTER CALLING U-HAUL, IT TURNS OUT THAT CONTRACTUALLY THE MANAGER DID NOT EVEN CHARGE ME AN ADDITIONAL DAY BUT A CLEANING FEE WHICH WAS UNNEEDED AS THE VAN WAS RETURNED FULL OF GAS AND IN THE CONDITION IT WAS RENTED. THE MANAGER CLAIMS THIS WAS A MISTAKE AND THAT SHE MEANT TO CHARGE IT ON THE CONTRACT AS AN EXTRA DAY. THAT SEEMS A LITTLE TOO CONVENIENT TO ME AS A CLEANING CHARGE CANT BE DISPUTED AS EASILY AS AN EXTENDED RENTAL CAN. SHE ALSO STATED THAT AS SHE WAS NOT ABLE TO CONTACT ME THIS ADDED TO THE INCONVENIENCE. I EXPLAINED THAT I HAD JUST RECEIVED A NEW PHONE AND AS I WAS ABLE TO MAKE OUT GOING CALLS I ASSUMED INCOMING ONES WERE WORKING AS WELL. I APOLOGIZED FOR THIS ALSO BUT REGARDLESS OF ANY OF THE ANCILLARY OR ANECDOTAL EVIDENCES PROVIDED IN THIS STORY; I RENTED A VAN FOR A DAY (24HRS,) RETURNED IT IN THAT TIME FRAME AND WAS CHARGED FOR TWO DAYS (48HRS.). THIS IS FRAUDULENT THIEVERY AND I EXPECT ANY CHARGES OUTSIDE OF THE WRITTEN CONTRACT TO BE REFUNDED TO ME. AT THIS TIME U-HAUL IS INVESTIGATING THE INCIDENT AND MY CREDIT CARD COMPANY HAS BEEN ADVISED TO DISPUTE ANY CHARGES FROM TREVS. I WILL CONTINUE TO ESCALATE THIS ISSUE UNTIL I AM FAIRLY COMPENSATED. OVERALL, IN THE CASE OF THIS MANAGER AT LEAST, TREVS SEEMS LIKE A SHADY SHOP.

I have used these folks for several U-Haul rentals, and have enjoyed a perfect experience each time. Each person I worked with knew the products and policies very well, and was very accommodating. Based on my U-Haul experience with Trevs, I will be bringing my vehicles here for service. If they run their repair business anything like they do for their U-Haul business it should be a great experience.

Very happy with the service, the folks there always treat us in a friendly and professional manner. We have rented U-Haul from them a few times and have had our car worked on there. We love the location right off Exit 10 and we will continue to go there.

Extremely shady auto shop. Will take advantage if they think they can pull the wool over your eyes! Stay Away!
