Was glad he know his job very well.On Monday my new furnace was installed by Garrett, Tyler. Today Garrett returned with a Tyler V.and George because there was some issues with the furnace. They all were very knowledgeable about the furnace. They are all nice guys who knows their job very well.I am happy to report that everything with the furnace is working good.I am a happy warm person.

I had my boiler expansion tank go bad just outside of Albany NY, woke up to a 50 degree morning and a basement with water everywhere. They showed up, got the new tank installed, and did an audit on my outdated system, and recommended a few things, I ended up going with them and long story short, after they were done with everything, my baseboard heating warms the house soooo much quicker, quieter, and my last 2 national grid bills show a very noticeable drop in usage (with the same weather) These guys rock!

I m posting about a job done 6 months ago that I now know I was totally overcharged for, because I had to bring another plumber in now due to leaking caused by Grasshopper not tightening the washer hose connection more than finger tight. Costing me hundreds more, and they already charged me $1,800 for a job on plumber says should have only cost $400. They refused to give me an itemized bill also. I would never use them again. Total ripoff and poorly done job.

The company is very professional. Communication was excellent. The plumber that was sent( Adam) was extremely polite, knowledgeable, and demonstrated a great respect for our property and ourselves. The challenge with this company, is the initial charge for the diagnostic visit. It was concerning that this cost would not be deducted from the bill for services we wanted performed.

Grasshopper techs are consistently knowledgeable, on time, and add value-added information for the customer. Christian Slater has done A/C and furnace maintenance for me, and is top-notch.

Totally impressed with the service manager (Ron) who came and evaluated and assisted us. He was very knowledgeable and timely. The gifts we received was very generous and thoughtful too.

I am so very disappointed to have to change this rating from a 5 star. Initial contact was wonderful with the engineer who came to inspect my home. Then no contact for many weeks despite reaching out multiple times. Finally received a phone call that the engineer was let go but that they would make it right. Then again they just stopped responding. Would not recommend.

Had an appointment for a boiler maintenance service and Alex Coller showed me several issues that can cause problems sooner than later and we discussed what the best option was thanks for all your help and knowledge

Alex from Grasshopper came last week to evaluate my old A/C unit, which needed to be replaced. They were able to get me scheduled quickly for my new unit installation. Aaron, Ryan and Jake were here today and worked in the heat and in a thunderstorm to get the new unit up and running before the upcoming heat wave! Kara at the office was helpful and friendly. All the technicians were friendly, respectful and professional. I really appreciate the great service!!!

I live in Satatoga County and Alex did my furnace maintenance this morning. He was friendly, knowledgeable, patient, and just an overall nice guy...and Im not easy to impress! He took pictures of parts of the furnance and thoroughly explained them to me. He then made a call to Connor in the office....who was also great! Connor took time to research and present my options, answered all my questions ... and not once did I feel rushed or pressured. The Customer Service that the two of them provided was exceptional, and very much appreciated... Thank you Alex and Connor!

Had them come out and do their winter tune up and ended buying a new furnace .i have never written a review but I had to this time. I have started to think that politeness went out the window until I hired this company. It started with the tech and anyone i talked to. By the way the bag of coffee didnt hurt lol. I started recommending this company to every one I know. This is refreshing to see some companies still care about the customer.

I am 100% satisfied with the customer service and personal attention I experienced. The technician, Alex, was right on time; was extremely personable and very conscientious about Respecting my home, wearing booties to cover his boots, etc. He checked out the problem and then had me look with him through his scoping camera to see the damage inside my old furnace. He did not try to up sell me and answered every question I had and explained what had likely happened over time, and cautioned me that it was a potential health hazard. I highly recommend this company.

Cameron was thoughtful, timely, and caring. He communicated with me through my current plumbing problem and help me devise a plan. He also gave suggestions for contacting other departments from Grasshopper when asked. I look forward to working with them again in the future!

I have a hard time recommending them. When I requested a bill with a breakdown on labor and parts I was told they are a flat rate billing company and could not and would not provide it. I was also given a price for two types of repairs one had a 1 year guarantee for 1795 and th e other was for 1295 which they referred to as a bandaid repair with a 60 day warranty. They also record all conversation in your house as the tech talks to you and the tech had to go to his van twice to speak to his supervisor I believe they do not want you to listen to the this conversation. First one he was out talking to them for 15 minutes and the second time he actually asked to go out and speak to his supervisor and would be about 10 minutes Debating on contacting ag ??

Great crew- timely , professional and knowledgeable. They showed me the issues they were concerned with rather than trying to get me to take their word for it like most other companies do. I would 100% use Grasshopper again in the future

Our heat went out hours before a major snow storm. Grasshopper sent someone within an hour s time. Tyler breathed life into our 27 year old heater, getting us through the storm, and explained our options for replacement. Grasshopper scheduled instillation around our needs. Noah and Dustin were amazing. Not only did they work tirelessly for three days to swap out our old system for a modern one, they were kind and supportive, allowing our family life to carry on around them.

We had some furnace issues. Our technician Tyler Backus, was great. He found and fixed the problem in minutes. He explained what the problem was and options for the immediate future with our furnace. We knew we were replacing it soon, so we decided to do it now. Grasshopper had a new one in the next day. Weve used them for a couple of years now. They installed minisplits for us and now a new furnace with heat pump. They are a pleasure to work with. A great team of technicians.

The new furnace is flawless so far giving us peace of mind ,our old unit was producing CO at high levels something other companies didnt point out thank you for looking out for us. I purchased a 50gal hot water tank through grasshopper in which they installed in very quickly! Professional attitudes, very clean work! They were able to replace 2 old galvanized hot water lines with new copper lines with no problems, where other companies were not able to help me!!

I signed up for the maintenance program for my heating and cooling system. I called to schedule the maintenance on my furnace and it took over a month and a half for the appointment and they called me today to tell me the tech called out and now trying to push out my appointment back another month. I have asked for a refund of my maintenance plan and I would not recommend this company. Unless you enjoy waiting months for service then this company is for you!

Ron gave us an excellent overview of our options and pricing along with what Grasshopper can do for us. He is very easy to work with and his approach is very much a win-win. Although we have not yet made a decision it will be easier to do because of Ron s product knowledge and understanding of us as potential customers.

My husband and I woke up to no heat during the coldest week of the year, just days before Christmas. It was a stressful situation, but Grasshopper Heating & Cooling completely turned it around with their exceptional service. When I called, Dylan himself responded promptly and reassured me they would take care of us. While he could have sent a technician the next morning, I explained that we had a backup heating source, so our situation wasn t an emergency. It was incredibly refreshing to see a company handle their customers with such care, compassion, and professionalism. Dylan scheduled our service call for right after Christmas, and Luke Bennett arrived right on time. From the moment he stepped in, Luke was outstanding friendly, knowledgeable, and extremely thorough. Our dog Gia immediately loved Luke, and he took the time to shower her with attention, which we all appreciated. Luke quickly identified the issue as a faulty induction fan. Before moving forward, Brian from Quality Control personally called us to explain the problem, answer all our questions, and reassure us that they were fully committed to resolving it as quickly as possible. What truly stood out was Luke s dedication. Although he didn t have the part on hand, he didn t let that delay the repair. Luke went out of his way to retrieve the part and came back the very same day to install it! By the end of the day, our heat was back up and running a result we didn t think would be possible during such a busy holiday season. From start to finish, the entire Grasshopper team was phenomenal. Dylan, the Amanda(s) in the office, Brian, and Luke all went above and beyond to ensure we were taken care of. Their teamwork, communication, and genuine concern for their customers set them apart. We are so grateful to Grasshopper Heating & Cooling for turning a stressful situation into a seamless, worry-free experience. I would highly recommended Grasshopper Heating & Cooling. From start to finish, they were responsive, professional, and easy to work with. I was in need of a new home radiator, as one of mine was cracked and leaking. I had gotten in touch with a well known local company who came out, told me I needed a new radiator, charged me $270.00, promised an estimate and left, never to be heard from again. My next call was to Grasshopper and was answered by a friendly operator who set me up with an appointment. Mike came out to diagnose and gave me a free estimate and a lot of laughs! He was very transparent about the work involved as well as the cost. They worked on sourcing the unit and Mike kept me informed along the way, as did Kristin. On day of install, Ryon and Renaldo got the job done quickly and efficiently and they were both very personable. They completed the work and left and that was when I lost my mind. My boiler relief valve started leaking rapidly and I knew I wouldn t be able to keep up with the bucket brigade all night long. It was heading for 8:00 pm but I called for some help and Jack, their install manager, returned my call quickly, talked me down off the ledge, told me how to manage the situation, and said they would be there in the morning with a new expansion tank and relief valve for my boiler. And they were. Ryon installed the new parts and Jack worked on troubleshooting a problem with a different radiator. Jack returned again the following day to make sure things were working properly. I would like to thank everyone at Grasshopper who was a part of helping me get through a very stressful situation. I ve held it together fairly well but I m getting emotional as I write this and think about all the great people at Grasshopper that helped me this week. Thank you again and God bless.

Who likes waking up early on a Sunday morning to no heat especially when the outside temperature is -5. No one. I called Grasshopper before 8 am and the call was picked up by the 3rd ring. The technician ( Matt) arrived by 9 and got right to work. He was very efficient, polite and he was able to explain to me what was happening to the furnace so I understood. Unfortunately the current 35 year old furnace needs to be replaced and after discussing with Matt and his counterpart Brian, the new system will be installed tomorrow. This is refreshing knowing there are companies like Grasshopper still around.

First time using Grasshopper and it was great! We have a membership with Roland J. Down and were told they couldn t come out for several days despite an issue with the furnace and it being 6 degrees outside. This led to us calling Grasshopper and being met with not only friendly staff, but they were also able to come out within a matter of hours to resolve the problem. Spoke to Iyla on the phone and she was very pleasant and helpful. The technician who came to the house was Luke Bennett, and he was great too! Super friendly, knowledgable, respectful, and willing to educate us! We were so pleased with the service, we are considering starting a membership with Grasshopper instead! Highly recommend!

First question is why are the Google reviews stellar and the Yelp reviews generally poor? I had estimates from several local HVAC companies and Grasshopper was on average 50-60% more expensive. While the service tech and sales person were extraordinarily nice, the bells and whistles were unnecessary. When you start the estimate discussion with a monthly payment plan and not the total cost - you should know its going to be expensive. Additionally, many of the included for free services were superfluous. In the end, I did not choose Grasshopper because of the cost and time share like sales experience. Again - what is there such a contrast between the Google and Yelp reviews? Makes you think.

I just had David here from Grasshopper to help with a very slow moving kitchen drain. Not only was David extremely courteous, he was patient , understanding and eager to explain how things work. Snaking the drain was a costly option but David also gave it more than enough tries to use the hot water to see if we could get things moving without the snake. Snaking the drain was still very much needed but thru his patience and willing to try the hot water method I could see how it truly was needed. This is the second time I have used this company and I am more than happy to call them again and to recommend their services.

T-bone & Surgio came out to look at my heating system. They were very knowledgeable and showed me pictures of the issue & Connor who gave the estimates was able to give me 3 estimates based on how much needs to be done all together but what could be done now which was very helpful!

Another reviewer summed it up nicely: Impressive operation with great communication prior to appointment. The two techs who came out to survey our needs communicated very well, both with each other and us, and were very knowledgeable. They havent actually done any work for us, but when were ready to pull the trigger they are highly likely to get the job. Ill update this review if/when I have more info.

I am very pleased with my experience with Grasshopper. I received call of expected arrival time the morning of as well as a text with picture of technician as well as the name. Karen was very thorough; answered any and all questions/concerns I had. She also explained what to expect going forward. I would highly recommend.

David came by to do a plumbing maintenance inspection and was very kind, thorough, and he answered all my questions. Great service!

Always a pleasure working with them. Last year they got us a new furnace within 24hrs days before Christmas and this year have serviced it and are helping with some thermostat changes. Always profession and polite and easy to work with.

We were very happy with Luke from Grasshopper Heating. He did a very thorough job of checking and cleaning our furnace. He also explained everything going on with the furnace including pictures of every inch of the inside of the furnace. I very much appreciated him going the extra steps in explaining venting issues in another room. I would recommend them highly.

I have been trying for one month to get ANY company to respond to my HVAC issues. Every message was met with dead silence. But when I contacted Grasshopper, they responded...within minutes. By the next morning, they had a technician here...2 hours later, the problem was fixed. Whats not to like? Quick response, quick and professional service (thank you, EJ!), very affordable price. Everyone should be using this company, in my opinion.

Grasshopper to the rescue again. What can I say that I have not already said. The team at grasshopper is outstanding!!! My house lost heat on a very cold night last Friday and having little kids i started to worry. I called Friday night after hours and the person that does the scheduling told me that someone would be there Saturday morning to help me out. Matt Wheeler should up right on time and just like Matt Carr he was very friendly and knowledgeable, and was quick to find the problem. He presented me with a few different options for a repair and got me in touch with Brain who was also very knowledgeable and great. Both spent a lot of time with me answering my questions and going over everything with me step by step, they even took the time to speak with my in laws who are helping me with my decision. I finally decided to go with a new furnace! I was worried that would have to wait until Monday before I could someone there to install everything. That was nice not the case. An hour later the install team should up to my house!!! They did a great job!!! Now my house is perfectly warm! I m soo grateful for the team at grasshopper for going above and beyond to help my family!! I don t know any other company that would get a team together that quickly on a Saturday!! But they did!!!

I called Grasshopper for my mom because she woke up to no heat from her steam boiler- the technician that came out was able to quickly diagnose the problem and had it back up and running in no time. So im a very shy person till i get to know you and on top of that my app was at 9 am. the tech was great he came in after he put down his own porch matt and booties. He wished us a merry chrismas gave us bag of coffee and a magnet. It was like we knew him for years. We sat down and talked and laughed. Great exsperence over all. I will be suggesting them to everyone i know.

The service technician that came out was unbelievable. We were completely satisfied. He went far and beyond what was of our expectations and grasshopper, just outperformed anybody that we ve had at the house.

I called Grasshopper with a weekend emergency. Within an hour, the master plumber was on my doorstep walking me through my options. The master plumber (David) was so kind, thorough and informative! I m a single woman living alone and I felt safe the whole time. I cannot recommend Grasshopper for services in Albany enough!!

We woke up with no heat, cold air blowing from the vents. Someone answered on the second ring and just a few hours later asomeone was here to address our issue. We have heat and are so thankful to have a local company, Albany NY, thats responsive even on a weekend!

Had a great experience a year ago with a plumbing issue..wonderful service and staff..this past weekend we had an oil burner issue (coldest day of the year) and I called on Sunday to see if they could help. At first I was told someone could come out on Sunday....and I was thrilled.....long story short I was informed not only would they not keep the pending appointment for Monday but that they wouldnt service my heating (oil burner) issue at all. VERY DISAPPOINTING to say the least. They should probably take the and Heating out of their advertising.

The representative that came out was very helpful in evaluating my unit. She also gave me a lot of information on the services and outer services that I could use to help. She was very polite and also used shoe covers when entering the home. As well as offering follow-up assistance.

I am not a person that ever likes to do this to a business but after 3 days of being without out primary heat source I feel this is my only option to get their attention. We purchased Samsung mini split units from them a year ago after being sold on how well they take care of their customers. We started having an issue with the outside unit freezing up. They came out on 12/21/2024 and we were advised that there was a leak and one of the freon lines was not hooked up correctly. They said they would have it up and running and when they left it was until it wasn t the next morning and the unit inside was giving a code of C4 we callled immediately and they said they would get someone out that day and then called back later on Saturday and said they wouldn t be coming because it was to cold for them to do what they needed to do. ( No kidding it s cold I have no heat in one side of my house) The sent a technician out on Sunday finally and saying they still think it has something to do with the Freon so they do the whole process over again and power up the unit and now it won t work at all. The technician who I don t blame at all was on the phone with several different people until they decided that there was nothing more they could do they needed to speak with Samsung technical support first thing Monday 12/23 and they would contact us. At 10:30 on 12/23 they still had not called so we placed a call and were told someone would get back to us 12:30 and still nothing. We call back and they still didn t know what was going on they would have yet another person call get back to us. At 1:30 we get a call and are told that they aren t coming today the Samsung representative is on vacation and they can have him come out on January 2 nd!!!! and they think that is totally acceptable that we will have our major heat source down for two weeks in the winter. This is totally unacceptable that they sell these units and apparently don t have technicians that can fix them. This unit is still under warranty and if they can t fix the issue with it they should be replacing it with a new one. Instead they want us to remain without heat for 2 weeks which they keep trying to justify because we have another unit that runs the bedrooms but obviously we have two units because one wouldn t have been enough to heat the house. If I could give them zero stars I would. They were great to deal with during the sale and installation process and all their follow ups to make sure we were happy but now that there is a problem they don t want to speak with you or provide the service they claim they do.

The most professional and polite. Uncovered the problem initially caused by another company, Schwarz. Schwarz fixed the minimum amount to leave me hanging until winter cold. Grasshopper respectfully explained that the Schwarz never touched the Navien gas system that suffered severe corrosion due to the schematic of pipes by Schwarz. Therefore Schwarz caused the corrosion and could not make a claim with Navien. I truly appreciate the clarity and sensitivity that Grasshopper techs demonstrated.

We woke up with no heat, no ideal during the winter just after Christmas not to mention. My husband is handy, but couldn t quite figure out what was going on. We called Grasshopper at 8am, and Alex was here before 11, and got us beat before 12. He was helpful, punctual and great to work with. We couldn t be more thankful for him and for some heat! I had an emergency situation with my furnace, Grasshopper came to the rescue and sent me two technicians, Tyler and Jordan. This team was knowledgeable, professional, friendly and informed me every step of the way on what was happening with my 32 year old furnace that I have been milking along for years. Tyler got it up and running (albeit on its last leg!). I then purchased a replacement unit which will be installed tomorrow morning. The service from both the technicians and the office team were fantastic. I will also mention that the folks who answered my phone calls were personable and kind and quick to get my service scheduled. I couldnt have asked for a better experience.
