We had a problem with our basement toilet, it was backing up the sewage. We contacted A.Johnson co., and the service guy told me it needed a new pump. He said it would cost $2,300. I thought the price was high and asked what part of the bill was labor and materials. The service rep said its an all in one price We had to get fixed so we went ahead. It was not fixed the first time, the tub where the sewage goes kept leaking.They were here at least 5 or 6 times because it still leaked. The owner of the company came the last couple home visits and said our system was old and we couldnt do anything more with that system and we needed a new system. The owner said he would work up numbers for the replacement system. That was about 3 weeks ago and we havent heard from him since. We cant recommend this company.

I discovered A. Johnson several years ago when heat pipes burst during a deep freeze. They responded off hours and were thorough. Recently they installed ductless AC/heat, water softener, and filter. Each job was professionally done. Technicians were polite, explained things clearly, and answered all of my questions.Very reliable company.

Had a variety of plumbing issues from a leaking water shutoff for an outside faucet, replacement of flushing mechanism in a toilet and capping a pipe I no longer needed for an outside watering system. The work was completed quickly and efficiently, very pleased with the results

Tyler called before arriving, diagnosed the problem and got heat back on. There were two parts not available today but he found a way to get the furnace working, ordered the parts and will be back in two days to finish the repairs. While the cost was fairly high, Tyler was upfront with me the entire time. There were no surprises. Everything was explained in advance. Tyler was a great technician.

Brandon was great. Came out late Sunday night because there was no heat and it was freezing outside. He worked for 2 hours to try and get the system going, but wasnt successful. He was able to determine what was wrong, got the part ordered and was back as soon as the part came in. Its comforting working with an area company - they built and installed the system and understands how it works. Customer service is excellent.

Mike was knowledgeable and helpful, and with COVID, was respected protocol when coming to my home. The system is currently serviced and working well and I can feel at ease throughout the winter. I would recommend A Johnson for service and will be using them next year for the health of my heating system.

The technician was wonderful- arrived promptly, followed great covid precautions and was very helpful.

I called this company to come out for a diagnosis of my boiler. The tech came in without any tools and only a tablet. Took about 5 pics and quoted me $1100 with some bs VIP club offer or $1200 without it. I paid him $70 tfor their diagnosis and said I would get back to them. I finally found a independent contractor to come out and he installed a new circulator pump and relief valve and my total cost was $260. I will never contact this company or recommend them to anyone else. What a joke The General Manager called me and showed sincere concern over my issues and decided to refund the cost for the initial visit. I really appreciated that call and was glad to hear back from him.

Beware. I was charged over $500 to replace a furnace ignitor. No quote was offered by the technician. This was a business day service not evening nor weekend. This is double the going rate.. check any sites which show rate averages. Their customer service refused to make amends saying that is their price. Avoid this company. Negative

A.Johnson s consistently does great work, consistently returns your calls, and consistently shows up as promised. Unfortunately, they also consistently charge an arm and a leg for their work. That said, I have had other plumbing issues, and called other places, only to wait DAYS before they even return the call...IF they return the call at all. I can say this, if I need help, and I call A. Johnson s, they are there in a matter of hours, and the job is done (and done well), taking a load off my shoulders, and a small load out of my checkbook. It is nice to know they will BE THERE when you need it!

I called to get an estimate and recommendation to buy a new water heater and A/C system. I was told by the secretary that before we can purchase any new system, our old system would need to be evaluated. And the cost to have the old system evaluated in order to provide an estimate was, $120. I informed the secretary, that I was simply looking to buy not evaluate my current water heater, she informed me it was still neccesary to pay $120 .

I will never use them again. Called them to replace the leaky, aging main shutoff valve. They ended up replacing two valves and broke a joint on the second, left the valve off and tried to leave before i could check it. Secondly the prices for parts is beyond ridiculous, $116 each for 2 $15 ball valves, $182 for $1.17 elbow joint and $110 each for 2 $2 copper t fittings. The only honest charge was the $70 service charge. This is not a good company. I know the plumbers themselves cannot control what the company charges, but they can do honest work and not try to cover up shoddy work.

Amazing and Fantastic Service! Mike the service tech was great. Gave an honest evaluation of my broken central air unit. Made the repairs without trying to sell me a whole new system like other companies would have done. Saved me big time with a heat wave only a day away and my sons graduation party about to take place this weekend. He also gave me preventive maintenance suggestions and they will give a free quote on a future new system since mine is over 20 years old and will probably need eventual replacement. In the world today where its all about the dollar I find A Johnson tries to satisfy their customers. In this line of work, heating and cooling is very important. Brandon and his co-technicians worked straight through the day to install a new Lennox furnace for us, at a reasonable price I might add! It started with a late night service call and they brought space heaters in case they couldnt get our furnace working. They had to make a return visit the next day and after all their efforts determined that we needed a new furnace. Sean from A. Johnson came out to do a yearly maintenance and inspection of our boiler. I chose A. Johnson specially because Sean provided service at the home where we previously lived, and I was impressed by his thoroughness and professionalism (the only service professional of any type who made such an impression in the 7 years we lived in that house). This time, he had to endure a less than pleasant crawl space that unexpectedly had water on the floor. He diagnosed the issue as the water heater, and went on to complete the scheduled service. We quickly got an estimate for the water heater and based on our experience, we plan on having A. Johnson do that installation as well.

Dont normally do reviews, but the technician was great. Arrived on time and was willing to go the extra mile to get the work done right, which even included a trip to get a part he needed. Dont regret choosing this company at all.

I requested a service visit. There was a defect in the heating system. He gave me to understand that he could not fix it, and that it would take a few hours to fix. And, that I would be charged a second call out fee. On top of the fix itself. I was quoted 3 possible fixes ranging from six to sixteen hundred depending on what was wrong, and that a new technician would be out in a few days. Called someone else, who charged 300, and fixed it in the time it took him to produce his estimate.

Sean arrived on time and was very professional. He explained all the options for completion of my job and once the decision was made he started the work and completed in a timely manner. I would gladly recommend the company to anyone looking for a plumber.

The technician Bryan showed up on time and presented who he was. They also sent a text message to us with a picture of the technician for security purposes. I showed Bryan the problem I was having and he diagnosed the problem quickly and accurately and also explained how he came to his diagnosis then provided an estimate. I would definitely use them again.

Great and reliable service.

Being new to home ownership, I was looking for a tune up for our furnace and was referred to this company by a co worker. We received maintenance on a furnace that had never been serviced since its purchase! I can honestly tell you that because of you guys we will probably save quite an exorbitant amount on energy costs in the future. You also set me up with an appointment the day of my calling, and the technician was on time and beyond friendly and personable. The technician explained the service that he would be providing and he provided said service in an efficiently timed manner. Of course I hate parting with my money, but with the amount that I believe you guys have saved me, the cost was deemed reasonable in my opinion. Excellent quality in customer service! You guys have definitely found a new customer for life!

Friendly reliable service. Replaced a bad capacitor and didnt try to take me for more. Id definitely use them again. Can be hard to get a non-emergency appointment, so book early.

Had them come out to give us a quote on replacing our current hot water tank or to replace it with a tankless as well as to fix an issue with our dryer vent. We had converted to a tankless in our previous house so we knew what it would cost going into it. They wanted $5,000 to replace our hot water tank (and expansion tank) or $7,500 to convert to a tankless. This is obviously multiples of what either one of those things should cost. He charged us $258 for his work on our dryer vent which isnt actual fixed, we still have the problem. We called another place and the price for the replacement tank (and expansion tank) were what they should actually be. So they basically charged us $258 to waste our time. I think the guy saw that we had a nice house and decided to take advantage of us by overcharging us. UPDATE: Despite their reply to this review our concerns were not resolved. They called my wife because of the review and tried to talk her out of keeping it up. I told her to tell them wed take it down if they refunded our money. They agreed but had all of these conditions such as providing them with an invoice from the new company we had come in to do the work. Were not jumping through hoops to get our money back. If they wanted to do the right thing theyd just send a check. Its obvious that the only reason theyre highly rated is because they call people who post bad reviews and try to persuade them otherwise. I actually believe that they have hired a company to manage their online presence because whomever my wife spoke with had no access to any information from our account or the authority to authorize the refund without getting approval and contacting her again at a later time. Dont trust their reviews.

First estimate went very quick and polite fast paced no time wasted come to find out unit outside went out and inside unit needed repairs and replacing/ install showed up 930am by 1230pm had new unit installed all new lines run indoor unit replaced and all new electrical for the units even replaced and run can honestly say faster company with no hassle or run around great turn around time great and fast install no stone was left in turned in the process A++ service and A+ to the representative who came through out the whole process very satisfied and pleased with the whole situation thank you look forward to having service from this company in the future highly recommended

Called many heating and plumbing service around the my area no immediate appointment available in October, Appointments are booked all the way till Christmas. Then called A Johnson, they offered me the next Monday! I already feel good about it.

Mike and his helper were fantastic. I would definitely call them again.

Sean was very knowledgeable and professional. I appreciate the information and recommendations he made, without trying to sell us something we didnt need. Our old AC isnt long for this world but when it goes we will definitely think of A Johnson.

Mike & his partner (So sorry, forgot his name) came out and quickly diagnosed our problem and had our air back up and running in not time at all and the price was right on the money. House is livable again! I certainly recommend A. Johnson for all your HVAC needs.

Great Service started with the installation of the furnace in January of 2016. The excellence continued each year since, A. Johnson is the premier heating and service company, dont deal with anyone else. The service Tech we had this year Mike was another example of great service, he is one of the the many great reasons that we went to A. Johnsons for the installation and continued service and will remain with them.

Was quoted $129 to come out to look at my furnace. Unscrewed 1 screw that took 2 seconds and charged me another $50 to tell me that I had a bad heat exchanger. (Without actually looking at the heat exchanger) Then he went on to tell me that it was going to be around $3000 to change the heat exchanger(quoted 6 hours work) or about $5000 to replace 7 yr old furnace. Called another company which came out at 11 PM same night. Entered the furnace serial number into some phone app and told me that the heat exchanger was covered under warranty and it will only take an hour to swap it out. My advice. Take your business elsewhere. These guys are scammers
