Pete and Anthony were great and did a wonderful job on my vehicle, thank you so much.

I use this shop to fix my car for many years and service was ok. I don t know what was changed but last 2 years the service is horrible and front desk is not helpful at all. For last 2 years I pay around 5000 $ dollars for fix and drive only to store, church and once a week some around 25 miles. Last week I pay again 500$ for fix and today check engine light is on. Left work early to go there and check what is wrong and everything what they say I need to leave car again. They even don t want to scan to check what is error . So disappointed after such long time being with them . Not come beck any more to that place!

I was getting a tow by AAA from this company and I had someone named Sami B. I told him exactly where I was on rt3 in Clifton and claimed that he was here which he wasnt he said he checked all of rt3 and couldnt find me then he said that he would call me back and just left

After having them work on my car to replace the radiator, I decided to take a look at the work they did for myself. Instantly after opening the hood I saw that they forgot to put all caps for the ac lines back on and also that they overtightened and stripped all the bolts to my engine cover. This is why I recommend checking your car yourself or taking a picture of the engine bay before dropping it off here. I know for sure that none of my bolts were stripped beforehand because I inspected the car myself before I took it in. Take your car somewhere else that wont make a rookie mistake like this.

I had them diagnose my transmission. I eventually decided to take my car to another shop after finding a better price on the repair. I arrived at their business with a tow truck and cash in hand to pay diagnostic and towing expenses so they could release my vehicle. I explained all this to Pete and he refused to print an invoice. He said he would need thirty minutes. No other customers were present and my car wasnt blocked in. I explained that Id arranged with a tow service and the tow truck driver wouldnt be able to wait thirty minutes. He said it wasnt his problem. The tow truck driver left and as soon as he did, Pete printed out the invoice and took my money. It took all of two minutes. Its hard to interpret what Pete did as anything other than a petty act of revenge for taking my business elsewhere. I wouldnt leave my car with a repair shop that begrudges people their basic consumer rights. Response to the owner: Buddy, I declined your help and chose to take my business elsewhere. I would have been happy if your shop didnt actively hurt me. I ended up paying $50 extra for the tow because I was in a bind. The fact that one of your senior employees even felt comfortable engaging in such a casually malicious act speaks to the culture at your repair shop. Thanks for nothing.

My gas tank fell out of my car on Saturday, after a week of fighting with finances, and getting money together they had my car ready in 3 days.

Overly expensive,recently I learned that I was supposed to get a 10 percent discount because of my AAA card which I never received.Also if you try to use your credit card there is a service charge.I will be contacting AAA to let them know that I never received my 10 percent discount.

I made an appointment for a Saturday morning - convenient for my schedule. I was greeted warmly, and my car was taken care of within minutes. The mechanic explained all that was done, and answered a couple of questions I had. I would definitely return to this service station.

My car was broken down on last Wednesday. AAA battery staff recommended the Five Star. I paid extra $ to AAA because the distance exceeds 5 mils. The repair cost is more expensive than I thought but this is not the reason I give one star here because they have confirmed with me. What Im complaining is this price actually is cash only. When I made payment at the garage, I was not notified that I will be charged 3.99% what so called No Cash Adj fee. I just found this fee on the receipt this morning. I dont know if this fee is normal in Clifton area. But I never see this fee in Edison, central jersey, where I live. For a garage handles hundreds bucks repair everyday, credit card payment should be normal, especially as a partner with AAA.

They are ignorant and don t communicate well at all.

I scheduled an appointment to have brakes done. When I walked in Peter and another gentleman did NOT have masks on. Neither attempted to grab one when I entered. Peter was very rude when I told him who I was and that I didn t plan on leaving the car. I understood completely that he could not accommodate that, however there is a way to tell someone that. He said what he wanted to say and walked off. As someone who has never been to this establishment before, I would never go back nor recommend anyone.

Highly recommended!! Scheduled an appointment and they got my vehicle done in a timely fashion when I dropped it off in the morning. I m not one to trust my cars with many people, but I wouldn t take it anywhere else.

Peter, the Manager of Five Star was very respectful and helpful. At Five Star they quickly determined my cars problem and repair it. I have complete confidence in their services. If I lived in the Five Star Automotive area, I would regularly use their services. Thanks Peter.

We had a 14 year old Sentra that was stalling and 2 other shops had previously attempted to diagnose unsuccessfully. Not only did they find the issue, they showed us the faulty (torn boot) item and fixed it so the issue wouldnt recur. Really fantastic service and speedy professional work. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Peter is a very nice guy. And one look at the traffic jam on the property can tell you their services are in high demand and seem to be valued by the community.

i left my car to get an alignment and I come back to a scratched wheel, my wheel lock cracked(it broke trying to take off my wheel) and missing one of my locks on my wheels driving with only 4 lugs. Would not recommend

They found a discontinued part for my car and kept me updated daily on the tracking information as I had an important need coming up for the car. Horrible experience, I got my car towed to him because of the ball joint broken on my driving side tire, he gave me an estimate of $850 to fix the righ t and left tire ball joints and axle for the left side. Paid him this enormous amount to fix it and the next day morning , my car doesnt, start, I have a brand new starter in the car and upon talking to him, he says it could be a starter problem or a mechanical fault. How would u review a mechanic , whom you paid this huge amount a day before and next day your car wont start. My mistake , i should have read the previous reviews before bringing the car to this guy. Beware, you are not in safe hands.

Five Star Auto - I was going there a few years back with the original owner and now they have a new owner and Service Manager I just purchased a used Honda Civic SI and it required a clutch and other work.. Peter was GREAT! Very straight up and up front and it felt the service and advise was just a good, glad I left my car to be services their. Very fair pricing and the work speaks for itself. terrible ! i came over with my car nothing major they chrcked why the check the engine is on they told me it will cost me over $400 i refused still had pay $45 for chrcking with computer what was the problem .I went to anotger mechanic he fixed it for 100 !!!! with parts odering on line and labor ! ahame on you five stars automotive Just because iam a woman and dont know alot about cars it does not mean you can cheat !!!!! shame !!!!!

Horrible! I used to go there with the old owner, brought the car to get my brakes done in aug with the new owner he wanted to double charge me so I bought the parts to him for 1/2 the price he did my brake pads and Roters and they have been squeaking so bad with tons of break dust! Never again!!!

Excellent service. I brought my 06 Kia Spectra in for new pads and rotors. They found that one of the calipers was bad, and called to ask if it was ok to replace it. They were very clear and up front about the cost, and always made sure to get my approval before starting any work. I did some research on the cost before coming in, and the price they charged me was very reasonable. Afterwards I asked about a squealing noise coming from my engine, and they offered to adjust my timing belt for basically free! Ill be coming back here if I need any future work done on my car.

By far the best and reliable Mechanic Shop in the area of Clifton! I used to always have my regular services and checkups done at my local car dealer and never really interacted with the mechanics regarding any issue with my car. It was usually a fast transaction almost always but this time I was referred to Five Star Automotive and I am extremely pleased with the service they provided. I went in for a regular Oil Change whom was done by Dennis, one of the mechanics there and he instantly brought up a few things that needed attention towards my next visit. He was very attentive to my concerns about my vehicle and also gave me some suggestions. Five Star gained another customer because I will definitely be back for future services!
