One of the first pop-ups on Google when i searched for axel and diff repairs on my 2008 Chevy Suburban LTZ. Although it really hit my pockets, Brian was direct on what needed to be done to get me on the road again safely.When he showed me what was removed and replaced, it blew my mind!! Didnt know it was that bad. Needless to say within a week, my truck was running as good as it ran when i purchased it. They stand on business when it comes to getting the job done right. I will gladly return for any other issues and refer anyone there. Outstanding!!!!!!! A+++++++

Replaced transmission, didn't last for 7000 miles, they overcharged me, compared to other mechanical shops...

Brian is by far the most honest and genuine person I have dealt with in the automotive industry. From beginning to end, gave me great communication and educated me. After days of taking time to figure out what was wrong and doing a bunch of diagnostic work, he gave me the unfortunate news that it would be within my best interest to just get a new car. The shop could have been shady and tried to charge me for a bunch of stuff, but he was open and honest and told me it’s just not worth fixing. And top of that, after DAYS OF WORK, he ultimately decided not to charge me, for the diagnostic fee. Brian is a stand up guy, and I can’t recommend him enough.

I was planning a long road trip for a family vacation, so I took my truck to Clifton Transmission to get the transmission, transfer case, and differential fluids changed. This shop has been around for decades and is known for its expertise. I also support small local businesses so I made an appointment for the fluid changes, and their pricing was more affordable than going to the dealer. I dropped my truck off for the fluid changes. Around midday, I received a call from Brian and Mark at Clifton Transmission. When they removed the rear differential cover, they found a lot of metal on the magnet and saw that the teeth on the spider gears were nearly gone. They recommended a few options: using a used differential which might have the same issues as mine, rebuilding my differential, or purchasing a rebuilt differential from US Powertrain, which comes with a two-year warranty. The new differential features upgraded parts that address flaws in the original OEM design, making it a significant improvement for my vehicle. I chose the third option. Mark told me he would call once the parts arrived to swap it out. They were very accommodating with my kids' school schedule and my work schedule. They installed the new differential, and within a few hours, I had my truck back. Mark was very upfront, explaining that he had used US Powertrain products for decades. He was upset to report that the new differential had a persistent gear whine between 60 and 45 mph on deceleration. US Powertrain recommended driving it for 500 miles to see if the noise subsided, but it didn't. They then sent a replacement differential to Clifton Transmission under warranty and covered the installation costs at my local shop's hourly rate. I paid nothing out of pocket for this second differential install. Overall, I highly recommend Clifton Transmission for your drivetrain needs. Mark and Brian maintain a clean, neat, and orderly shop. They are very knowledgeable about all makes and models of transmissions. Their commitment to quality and customer service is truly commendable. The differential from US Powertrain is American-made and perfect for anyone in need of a reliable and well-made differential.

I was having transmission issues, was super stressed... Very honest! I was afraid i would have to spend thousands of dollars on a new transmission, but it was only a switch that needed to be replaced. Had such a great experience, Mark took care of it the same day!
