Best auto shop in upstate NY - hands down. I had better service here than the dealership (Porsche). I had my spark plugs changed, transmission fluid flushed, oil changed and they went the extra mile to ensure my car was in tip top shape before I drove off the lot. It runs better than my last maintenance interval service at the dealership. I’m recommending them to everyone I know and will be coming here from now on.
Very knowledgeable and honest. I really needed work done on my Suzuki and thought I'd try this place. it's very difficult to find a place that will actually work on a Suzuki and actually know what they are doing. I was so surprised because the mechanic/owner actually included me in the decision making process by offering alternatives based on price. The work done on my car was excellent, well priced, and actually interesting. This place has all my business from now on and I'm going to suggest it to everyone.
Let just say THANK GODDDDDD I found them a few years ago. They’ve been helping to fix my cars ever since and get me back on the road faster than any other car shop.. I wanted to be greedy and not sure this review since I would like to place to be available when I go but they deserve it. Great people, great service and my car is happy ! Thank you to both men 💕
This shop got me right in, was done with my oil change and inspection in a reasonable amount of time, at a fair price. The front desk woman was kind and helpful, and the shop is a hometown kind of place. They offered to let me bring my own tires to put on for much less than the cost of two brand new tires+installation and didn’t put me in a bad position with my inspection sticker either, giving it a cursory inspection first to identify what would need to be fixed before it was officially inspected which I greatly appreciated!! I will absolutely be back to have tires put on and my brakes done and whatever else I need.
Only place I could find that was willing to install parts I provided and did a Great job even with my cheap parts didn't ask for a Penny more although they had to fabricate the exhaust mid pipe to fit to specs. Thank you guys x1000! I will definitely be back for all my work and bringing all my friends/family vehicles here ** Also I feel that these one or two negative reviews are for the other Ak auto's in Google that doesn't even sound like these guys. Very fair prices family owned small mom and pop guys that care and show that to all of us so I really doubt that the one or two 1 star review are not even for this company doesn't sound like my guy's, these guys care!***
A &K is outstanding, honest, hardworking, and very experienced! He repaired the exhaust/muffler system with less then $400 for my 2004 Toyota Camry, while other shops gave the estimate prices range from $900 to $3.4K! The service is excellent. I highly recommend this professional. F. Zhang
I called in the morning and they were able to take me in right away to look at my transmission because I was having issues, Kyle, an incredible and nice guy, filled the transmission fluid and took it for a test drive and saved me from going insane because I was worried my transmission was going! But he figured what the issue was and sent me on my way. Honestly, the best mechanic shop I have ever been too, I'd send everyone there for car problems.
Amazing experience! They got my car in right away and worked extra hard to make sure it was done in time for me to go to work. Needed an exhaust welded in on my 335i and they got me in next day and had it done that same day. Mel is a true professional and did great work. These guys know what s up!

Our work van broke down directly outside of their shop. While we were still redirecting traffic, Amel did not hesitate to grab 2 jacks and a trolley and lay down in the middle of the road to quickly get us patched up and into the lot. After a short discussion, he had diagnosed the problem, and less than 3 hours, ON THE SAME DAY, he had the van repaired and in better working order than when it was purchased. These men deserve your business. God bless.
We were passing through Albany and hit a piece of blown out tire on the highway. When we slowed down there was a loud metal clicking. We called these guys up randomly because they were only a couple miles away. They told us that the heat shield had gotten knocked loose. They tightened it up, and we were on our way. No fuss. Super helpful and informative. Hopefully theres not a next time, but if there were, wed go back. Thanks for your help, guys!

First time here. Exceptional service. Had spark plugs changed on 99 malibu v6. Two were stuck. Ended with good news. Exhaust was making loud noise and Amel explained what went wrong and instructed a way to fix it cheaply. Great price. Only charged me hr worth of labor. Would highly recommend these gentlemen and looking forward to going back.

This place is one of the best places in East Greenbush to take a Bmw 335d, Suburu wrx, or just about any car for that matter. Kyle and his team really care about doing it right. I highly recommend. Make sure you call ahead. The place is small and busy.

This place is great, my daughter purchased a used vehicle from the owner and he has gone above and beyond to ensure the car is safe and running well. She had an issue with her battery and when we contacted him he was more than willing to check it out and fix it. Great guy, excellent mechanic, awesome company! Highly recommend!
Called yesterday at 4:45pm they got my car in first thing got it fixed at a very reasonable rate and got my car back already. Very professional and great service!!!

Just to clear things up since it wont let me reply to the review: Pat Miller doesnt exist. He or she were never here. There are security cameras for employee and client protection. It appears that youve posted under the wrong A&K business. Thank you for your false accusations Pat towards this business. Hundreds of happy constantly returning clients that are treated with respect and A+ service. Also all of our repairs are done in a timely manner. Great service on my Volkswagen Passat. The dashboard was displaying error messages and lighting up. I feared the worst. Kyle diagnosed the problem as a minor issue with the battery. Also had some brake work done. Highly recommend.
I have nothing but great things to say about Mel and the service Ive gotten on both of my cars. Other car repair places, even very highly rated chain places Ive been to have tried to get costly and absolutely unnecessary repairs out of relatively simple fixes because of laziness and greed. Instead of getting as much money out of me as possible, Mels all been about building a relationship through honesty to take care of my vehicles. Not only are his prices fair, I can trust that what hes doing is actually whats needed for my cars. Cant recommend this place enough!

These guys are great, got me in for a quick oil change for the motorcycle on short notice, nice to find a bike service shop that doesnt treat you poorly if youre not one of their buddies. Great service, very quick in and out and will definitely be back.

Great work and customer service had some problems with a used car but they fixed it up for me quickly and with minimal cost. Ask for Mel and he should be able to hook you up.
just stop in for a quick inspection and while I was there I spoke to the owner. He is extremely knowledgeable as he assisted me with a vehicle I have at home that I am working on for months and he help diagnose the problem for my 2001 Honda s2000. These guys are great. Hope this review helps.

Stopped at A&K the other day and Mel who works there was great. He said he felt something wrong with the Front end and want d to check it out I took my vehicle back on Friday and he found something seriously wrong. The front upper control arms were shot. He said my car should oh never passed Inspection and it did. Anyways what a difference in my vehicle now.Thanks Mel.

Great quality mechanics, great price! I took my Camry in to get a tune up before driving it across the country. They went through everything and sent me off with confidence in my vehicle.
My brakes were grinding horribly. A&K Automotive were able to look at and repair them the next day. The man I spoke with when I picked up my car was very apologetic that he wasnt able to save the rotors because they were too far gone. He was very knowledgeable, courteous and helpful. I thought the price was reasonable, especially since they could see the car the next day and I could walk to work from there. My cars brakes squeaked after every time another garage replaced them. They dont squeak now.
My Acura TL had a charging issue, no one local could figure it out. Battery would die over night sometimes a two days. Brought it to few local shops one did an alternator the other did a new battery. I paid the boys at A&K for diagnostics. They found the radio was the cause. They replaced radio and now I no longer have to jump it after a weekend of sitting! Thank you guys for your knowledge and patients with me your awesome and I will be coming back with all of my cars.

I am very impressed with the professionalism and quality of service I received at A&K Automotive. My car was struck by metal debris on I-90 last week. What a great Christmas present, right? I am not from the East Greenbush area. But, I was driven to A&K Automotive by a kind stranger who used A&K Automotive in the past. Amel was amazing and helped me turn what could have been an absolutely terrible experience into just a little hiccup in my day. He helped me get my car to the shop and order a studded snow tire for a great price. My total bill was less than the price of an unstudded snow tire from Mavis (the tire retailer were I purchased my other tires). They worked fast and efficiently. A big Thank You to Amel and the rest of A&K Automotive for all of their help. Happy Holidays!
