My go to guys in the area since I've been here for the last 4 years! They service all of our cars.
Where do I begin. It was either October or November of 2024, I had my car towed there because it would not start. They had been my go to repair shop for over 15 yrs! After multiple phone calls asking about the status of my car and getting a different answer each time, 12 days later they finally said it was my battery and alternator. (That’s at the most a two day fix). I was annoyed is putting it lightly, the explanation was a lengthy one and they did apologize verbally and by giving me a whopping $80.00 discount from a $862.00 bill. (Gee thanks) The kicker was that I lost over $700 because I DoorDash to supplement my retirement income. So today, January 29, 2025 I once again had an issue with my car, I needed a tow and a fix for my check engine light. I called at 8am and Tony said that he would have Mark call me back. I called back at 9:30am, Mark answered and I explained what was happening with the car, he said “I don’t think we handle that but I’ll check and call you back” it is now 4:15pm and no response. I sense that my previous experience with them has caused them to dismiss me! Being a loyal customer even though my last repair was extended an unreasonable amount of time, means nothing. So the moral of my story is “if you live in the past, just stay there. People were nicer then”
Great service. Work was done well and timely. Easy to schedule an appointment, but they are very busy. It's nice to be able to trust a mechanic to do what is best for your car! These folks are trusrworthy.
Sean, Anthony and the crew are awesome Had to get a fuel injection service, oil change and a couple other repairs. They did great work and they explain what needs to be done and complete it in a timely manner. Very happy with what they do! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a repair shop.
Brought my car here for the first time for an oil change and inspection. Everyone there was super friendly! A few small issues that I wasn’t aware of, they brought me right out to the shop to show me what was wrong and didn’t make me feel pressured to fix it right then and there. Took a bit longer than expected but they apologized for the wait. All around an amazing experience! Will definetly feel comfortable enough to bring my car back here!
From the installation of 4 new tires, an oil change, brake repair and headlight restoration…I can’t give Shawn & the crew at Berdar’s enough praise for an Amazing job done to perfection! Thank you SO much for keeping my Honda CR~V in great shape!
Berdar's takes such good care of my family's vehicles! My last visit was to inspect my 2006 Jeep. Because they always offer service ( but never push me into it), they had my 18 year old Jeep in great shape so it only needed a bulb to pass inspection.
Upfront and fair pricing. Great pro-active communication. They replaced a water pump, one leaking freeze plug, and repaired a leaking fuel line on a 1995 van that has MANY more needed repairs. They suggested a few of those (that's their job), but when I declined they did not push it. That's honesty in my book. Job well done!

If I could give 10 stars I would. Dan worked on my exhaust. Not only did he do a great job but I saw through the window him do the quality check on every nut and bolt on our low miles 07 escape. It is now like new. Thanks Dan Services
A great place to bring your car,very professional and friendly,diagnosed my last issue, wheel bearings,quickly and gave me an estimate right away. I was really upset when my mechanic of many years retired,but theyve made the transition easier than I could have anticipated.

I went here to get my brakes checked based on the feedback that I got from my Toyota dealership in Latham. The folks at Berdars looked at them and gave me an honest opinion - My brakes are good and I have about 3/4 of life left in them. They didnt change me a buck!! I know where I will take my car in the future, if it needs attention!!

.....noticed today when attempting to defrost the back window that the radio station would change trying to do so, and the display window of the radio has missing numbers, etc . All after having a starter installed. Possibly when programing and coding after installation? Hoping after about a grand, this can be corrected. Service outside of this discovery today was fair.
Hit a curb and blew my tire out. Was close to Berdars so asked if they could put the spare on for me. They were able to get me in immediately and put on my spare. They were extremely professional and accomodating to my request. They saved the day for me! So if you are ever in need of a good auto repair shop, these guys are amazing!

I had a routine inspection last week. As usual the hospitality to the customer is genuine. They care about getting things done right and making you feel satisfied when you leave. In the past going to an auto shop was like going to the dentist. Pain in the wallet and a suspicion of being taken advantage of. Never here. Shout out to new guy Anthony. Along with Sean, the owner Dave and the team of mechanics this is the winning fantasy team. Its now 2023 and once again Im writing a review about Berdars. My nine year old jeep needed a little tending to and as usual, the entire experience was very satisfying. These are not just good people, they are the best mechanics around. And the prices are always fair and reasonable. Thank you guys!! It is not easy to find a garage that treats you with respect, has super mechanics and the cost is reasonable. Especially if you are a woman. I highly recommend Berdars. I moved to Cohoes last fall and had a problem with my tires. I went there and they fixed it for me on the spot and wouldnt charge me. I knew then that this place was special. And it is. I wouldnt think of going to any other place. It is now 12/28/21 and once again I must share why I will never take my jeep to another garage. All of the guys are professional, polite and friendly. Even better is that they know their stuff. Before I moved to Cohoes, I went to two or three other garages and I knew I was being ripped off but was not able to fight the tagged on charges and phoney fixes. I am never over charged and always surprised at how reasonable their prices are. They do not take advantage of my lack of engine knowledge or that Im a woman. They helped me out in a real jam and I appreciate the kindness. Happy New Year Berdars!

Have very high praise for them called up for an alignment and to have two tires put on rims because the last alignment I had gotten from Firestone and Latham completely made my brand new front tires go bald in less than 3 months was like they never even bothered to actually align it will not go back there so moving on I will definitely be going back to berdars cuz their price for the alignment was the same and way much better service they actually took the time after informing me that the alignment was extremely out of the specs they had to roughly align it first to get the computer to even reread it then do it again two specs which was extra work for them but they actually took the time to do it right also had them replace the two front tires with new tmps sensors which I had a pack of four but only needed the front two and one back one done as they werent reading he later informed me later that they had the extra bit of time so he actually did all four tires for me seeing as how I already had the sensors without charging me for the extra one tire program them all set them all and pump them all up to specs cannot say enough about the praise for them to go above and beyond and actually care and do the job right if you have a chance definitely go there I will be now bringing my wifes car my sons car and my car there for anything I may need to have done five stars all the way good job keep up the great work guys

I work for a medical equipment company so we use Berdars for our company vechiles and I noticed the good work they do as well as being punctual. So I decided to take my personal car to them and I dropped it off on Thursday morning, they called me Thursday afternoon with a diagnosis and payment options, car was ready Thursday evening for pick up. So with all that said Berdars is great and the small business Im supporting in these tough,crazy times.

The costs vary, but its worth it for their service. They have knowledgeable mechanics and personable staff. They are my regular mechanic despite being out of my jurisdiction. Not that I need them very often because they fix everything without a problem!

Its Good! The Business is still owned and run buy the original Berdar family and third generation I think. Brought my car in for a NYS inspection knowing I was due for new brakes and rotors. They notified me that my car would pass inspection without the work; but I asked them to go ahead with it anyway as I know it was only a matter of time before I would need to get it done. They quoted me a price slightly under what I was expecting and had the car ready to go by the end of the day. It was easy in and out - I will definitely use them again!

These mechanics are great I was stranded a half hour away from home with a flat tire , these guys helped me out with a plug and air. Had problems with power, then my engine light came on. They got me right in to check the warning codes and realized it was my turbo horribly failing. The fixed it very promptly and now running better then when I bought it... Great trustworthy guys to work with! And they always go the extra mile!! I came to Berdars because my check engine light was on. They made me an appointment for today. I go in and they didnt take long at all to look at the code which was a cat code. They gave me an option that was different from other auto body shops. Also, cheaper. They needed to keep my car for a couple of hours, and I was there with my 6 year old daughter. As I was getting ready to leave with her, the Manager (Shawn) offered to have the mechanic working on my car, drive us home. They called me 2 hours later to get the car, and the same man picked me up. To me, they went above and beyond my expectations and their job duties!! This is excellent customer service! Also, the gentleman (wish I checked his name) that dropped us off and picked us up, also fixed my door(to be kind) no charge! It wasnt closing right, and now is! Im beyond happy with my experience! They really helped me out, and made me feel heard, and put me at ease. This is very rare these days!!! If youre looking for an auto body shop with excellent customer service, and people who listen and hear your concerns, they are it!!!! I will from now on be a regular customer at Berdars! I cant thank these guys enough!!! If I could give more stars, I would!! Highly recommend!!!!!!

Went for an inspection. Had an appointment, got right in. Fast service and no problems. In and out in 17 minutes. Great!!!
Went in to get a tire realignment but was told that there was another problem with my vehicle (a bad tire bearing). They took in the car no problem and even gave me a ride to work that morning. I came back at the end of the work day a bit after closing time and they were still very accommodating. They even got a deal on a tire bearing part so we both got to pay less. Definitely will go back in the future.

One of the best auto repair shops I have ever dealt with. They give honest service, have a large facility so they are able to accommodate a large number of repairs rather quickly, and take my wife seriously when she has concerns. They also give great explainations for whats happening inside your vehicle. We have had bad experiences with auto shops in the past (not doing work we paid for... Etc). This shop has completely changed our perspective on auto repair. The staff are friendly and personable, and the work is honest.

Words caint describe how nice it is to find a good honest shop. Might not be the cheapest but they are a great bunch of guys and I wouldnt have any one else work on my car. If you live in cohoes this is your place if you want work done right.

I needed a flatbed after an accident. I called AAA and the fellow from Berdars showed up in less than a half hour. He was very polite and efficient, and maneuvered his vehicle skillfully and quickly so as not to obstruct traffic. Very non-judgemental, as it was a somewhat embarrassing mishap... He helped make an unpleasant situation a little easier. Thanks!!!
