The guys that work at the Colonie location are the best and super helpful. TJ is unfortunately leaving for college and was a great asset. This location is a great place to network with other riders as well. Its not just a store, its a community.

I went to Cycle Gear looking for a new helmet. I was instantly shocked at the amount of in-stock and on-display inventory that they have and how neat and clean the store was. The huge wall of helmets was perfectly coupled with the incredibly knowledgeable staff. The amount of education, explanation, and fitment assistance was exceptional. I never felt any pressure to buy anything and rather was given choices for my scenario. I ended up purchasing two helmets. It was a fantastic experience and I will be back again! No on-line store or forum can provide this type of experience! A hidden gem!

I entered the store and was promptly greeted with a smile and an offer to help me. I declined and shopped a bit, I was actually Helping a friend with a birthday gift. I found a sunvisor for MY helmet and when I asked for a demonstration, he was eager to show me. I dont remember his name, but he was on the short side, very friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to help.I will definitely return when in the area next January.

I like cycle gear. They had a pretty good selection of riding jeans, and I was able to take all of them in the fitting room and actually try them on. Try that online? I also found their new 50th anniversary cycle gear Dixxon shirt which I love. Ive stopped here before for last minute supplies, like tubes, spoke wrenches, fork oil, etc, and Ive never been disappointed. The staff is super helpful as well. Its almost like talking to a new friend, not some sales dude. These are guys who ride and want to share their love of the ride. Thanks Cycle Gear!

The selection at the store is incredible, and what is even more incredible is the Customer Service; every employee I have encountered, including the store manager have gone way out of their way to help me out and offer me honest advice and just be generally awesome people to deal with This is something that s so rare in retail these days, especially with a large company like cycle gear. These guys are just awesome and if you didn t already know, they change tires for $65 apiece, and only $35 apiece if you buy the tires through them!! Thank you Chad and team for your honesty and exemplary customer care.

Friendly service, just took longer than expected to receive my tire.

I know I could have gotten the same jacket online for less, but we would NEVER have gotten the customer service or education we received in this store. We are outfitting my grandson so he can be protected on his new bike. They spent over an hour with us making sure the jacket fit correctly, the pads were right, etc. THEN he taught us all about helmets. What to look for, how to fit etc, even though he knew we werent buying a helmet then. Im very impressed with their stock, variety of brands, and different price points. I recommend highly, you cant get all that online.

John was very helpful and informative. I was buying my first motorcycle helmet and told him exactly what I was looking for and the first helmet he showed me was a perfect match. A client of mine recommended this particular shop to me because she trusted them most with a proper helmet fitting and she was definitely right. I will be back for more gear for sure.

Team is always great about finding what you need and making recommendations. If they don t have it they ll order it or give you alternatives. The floor staff is fantastic. You may have to wait for someone to free up but that s because they provide excellent customer service to everyone who walks in the door. A little patience and you ll have the same engaging 1:1 experience.

If your a man than than you ll have some good luck finding some good gear. They have a pretty good selection for men s safety gear. They have an ok selection for helmets too. Not a ton to choose from though if you like designed helmets. If your a woman there isn t much to choose from, but seems to be the case in any gear store. Staff are nice and helpful. They have a small riding boot selection too.

Stopped in for a couple cans of Pig Spit. They had it and a better price than anywhere else! People here are always friendly and very helpful.

John at Cyvle Gear, Albany, NY, is a phenominal individual to do business with as well as his staff and a great assortment of products to pick from as well. They helped me pick out a new helmet as my previous helmet was damaged. I also wanted to dive into getting a helmet stereo setup for riding with others and communicating, so they pointed me in the direction of a Cardo Edge that fit what I was looking for best. With the information and knowledge they presented me with, I feel like it pointed me in the right direction with no misleading information at all. It was a smooth, quick, clean transaction and when the K6S didn t fit with my face mask, they took it back 3 days later and ordered me a new one to be shipped to my house, with shipping free of charge as well. Professional and knowledgable people with great work conduct. Very happy with my experience. They really seemed like they cared about me and everyone else who stepped foot in there. I shop this store on occasion when I need something quickly, they usually have what I need in stock. Yesterday I purchased an off-road helmet and although I cannot recall the salesmans name, I will say he did a really nice job helping me choose the right helmet

Very professional, polite and helpful

We dropped off tires Monday night, around 7:30 PM, we were told when they were dropped off that we would have them back easily within the 24-48hr time period for mount/balance, possibly even before then. I called Tuesday afternoon after work, around 4:30 PM to check in just to see where they were at, and they told me when I called that they wouldnt be done till the end of the week, when asked about the 48hr maximum time they said they couldnt promise anything. Disappointed, as we rushed to pull the wheels Monday to get there before closing, we picked up our tires to bring somewhere else. Only reason for two stars instead of one, is that the staff was at the least friendly.

Lots of square footage, but not as much inventory as such a large space could handle. Despite this theres still decent selection. Unless youre a woman rider, then its much less. But still more than some places. All in all its a solid average with a small bump above average for good customer service.

It s a fun experience to order online, and pick up order , at store .I like saving $$ on the shipping charges . I Like the Colonie , N.Y. store.

So I recently replaced the chain on my motorcycle the one that drives it and one of the parts inside of my change tool kit broke so I went there and I want to try to see if I could buy just that piece but they didn t have it, but he replaced the kit under warranty, which I didn t even know I had on it so that was like super awesome and super helpful so today I m going back to get another chain so I have a back up chain so awesome customer service and thank You very much. You guys are awesome over there

If they don t have it. You don t need it. I love having a gear shop that has it all. From tires to filters to quality riding gear. Ordering on line you do not get to try items on. They have a fitting room!! Love it. Recommending Cycle Gear to all my riding buddy s. It s a one stop shop for motorcycle enthusiasts.

Ive never been to a motorcycle gear shop before and decided to give these guys a shot based on a recommendation. Everyone here is super nice and very friendly! I have never had an issue shopping at Cycle Gear. This time I noticed the oil/chemical/fluid aisles were very low on product. I wonder if this is because we are three quarters into the Northeast riding season and time to let the inventory dwindle down some. One of my reasons I love this store is you can actually try on the helmets and clothing before making a decision on which to purchase

This place is great. They have everything I need, their customer service is excellent.

Customer service friendly but takes way too long. Bought a helmet. Had to take display model. When they installed pin lock, found a crack in visor. So had to replace it. Guy took forever, like 1.5hrs

i reserved a tire for a pickup later in the day on the website. i called to double check that it was available and ready before i left. The person on the phone said my tire was right at the counter waiting for me. Walked in and paid and got my tire and left. couldn t have gone any smoother. price was reasonable, and everyone i dealt with was friendly and professional.

Im literally so disgusted with this place! I will never step another foot into this business ever again! They all love to sell and get their commission but as soon as you order something they do not and will not follow through. Everything Ive ordered from this location this year has been wrong and its an issue returning the items that they got wrong! Theyd rather converse in a conversation that the other sales guy is having then to address the situation at hand. Not having a manager present or someone who knows anything behind the counter is appalling!

Spent like two hours at cycle gear in Colonie! Quinn was so funny and fun to shop with, she talked to me about helmets and glove options and was so welcoming and friendly, I felt like we became friends instantly.

Great service and beautiful store. They went above and beyond in troubleshooting a problem I was having with my helmet.

In the past, I have purchased riding jacket, helmet, gloves and perishable items such as chain lube and chain cleaner. I needed a pair of warm-weather riding gloves that covered my wrists as I was getting sunburned in the gap between jacket and gloves. Cycle gear is the only bike shop open on Sunday and there was an excellent selection of gloves and I found exactly what I needed.

Went in just to check the store out, I was surprised how much riding gear and accessories they have on hand in store. Great friendly and knowledgeable staff. I ended up making a couple of purchases feeling their pricing is very fair. Will definitely be doing more business with this company.

Walked in and was immediately greeted by Owen. Told him I needed a helmet. Beginning to end was helped with every question and getting everything set up. Walked out with two helmets with coms installed and tinted face shields put together by Owen and Collin. First time in but definitely not the last.

Super helpful, knowledgeable, and patient staff! Theses folks understand that youre looking for the best protection you can get for your budget, but they know they most expensive helmet in the world doesnt do jack if it doesnt fit your head correctly, or is so uncomfortable/hot you just cant bring yourself to wear it every time you ride. They are definitely more concerned with helping you find that great fit than making a sale something that a lot of other stores in general could stand to learn from.

Collin went above and beyond to help me find the right brake pads for my motorcycle. He made the interaction personable. He gave me honest feedback about items I was considering, and he did all the work when it came to finding things in the store. If I had any questions he was quick to give me an answer or at least search for the answer. Collin has absolutely earned my return business and I look forward to working with him again.

It was super easy to shop online for the Colonie store. I found the jacket I wanted, ordered it, and picked it up at the register after receiving an email that it was ready. The entire process took an hour! The jacket is perfect as well. Great service all the way around.

I brought my twin 16 year old sons to get new helmets for our atv/sxs use. We found a wonderful selection and purchased two helmets. My one son found a closeout model he really liked and I let him get gloves and goggles too, all while staying in my budget. The staff was very helpful since my one son has a pumpkin head and needed a 2xl helmet for a proper fit. Thanks again to the staff on duty.
