I had an absolutely amazing experience at Monro! I came in with an urgent need to get my car inspected and fixed, and despite their busy schedule, they managed to squeeze me in the same day. The entire process was smooth and professional from start to finish. Brandon, the manager, went above and beyond to ensure that everything was taken care of promptly. He was incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and communicative throughout the entire process. What really stood out was their exceptional customer service they even provided me with a ride back to my workplace while they worked on my car, which made my day so much easier. It s rare to find a business that genuinely cares about its customers the way they do. If you re looking for a reliable, honest, and professional tire shop, I highly recommend them. It was easy to make online appointment. When I arrived the team was friendly, efficient and went over my service options. My vehicle was done within the time frame they told me.

Did $750 worth of brake work in less than 30 mins. Brakes looked and felt the same while driving. Front brakes were suddenly making noise went back to have them check, they said front brakes are going bad will need replacing in few months. So they did $750 worth of brake work and decided not to do anything about the brakes that were actually bad?? Oh did i mention they did $750 worth of work in less than 30 mins. Someone warned me about this place but i went anyway and paid the price, will never go back again. They will rip you off unless you know exactly whats going on. Found another great autoshop within the area. Great, honest and reliable work done every time, prices are fair and transparent the opposite of this place. Havent gone back to this place and my vehicles are running better than ever. Beware of the fake positive reviews, most have very few reviews under their names for a reason

For about a week I was having issues using a Groupon coupon at a sister company (Mr. Tire). Although I was told to purchase this coupon by the store manager, and did so standing in front of him, he would not accept my coupon due to complications they have receiving payment from Groupon. After days of back and forth with this employee, I was directed to Monro in Colonie, NY. Here, I was assisted by Justin Schreiner, the assistant manager at this location. In short, I wish I came here from the start. Mr Schreiner is extremely professional and made it his business to ensure that my car was received the service I paid for without any further complications. I would definitely recommend this location to anyone looking for issue-free service on their vehicle.

Frontdesk team is very helpful in explaining the vehicle consition, but expecting full report go over will helpful. After waiting 1.5 hrs they did even started serving the vehicle.

I went to this shop for help for my tires, and the staff, particularly Justin was very helpful. They found an issue with my lug nuts and studs and made to not just inform me but make sure I left safely. All around good experience!

Left another shop after getting an oil change and heard something dragging under my car. I pulled into the Monro to look under my car and figure out what was going on. The 2 gentlemen working on Sunday 9/29/24 (I didn t get their names) came out to check on me. They got under my car, found my access panel had never been bolted back into place, cut off the destroyed pieces of the panel and bolted it back into place. They were extremely friendly and helpful and saved me a ton of frustration and potentially additional damage. They ve got my business from now on.

Unhelpful,seemed like we were an irritant . I have to say the yr before I used them also and the staff couldnt have been nicer , so much so I tipped them 20 bucks on a 21 dollar inspection , giving the benefit of the doubt maybe they were having a bad day , but in short I got there for an inspection my horn didnt work ,was told they didnt have time to look at it , now I knew if worse came to worse I couldve run a toggle And made it work however after getting home and getting my t25 out I removed the air bag found the problem and fixed it within 7 minutes , but before I left the shop at 1230 I asked if I can fix this can you inspect it for me later and was definitively told no , again something that wouldve taken less then ten minutes after I already made the trip there once , thats my review

Not recommend to anyone go to Monro at colonie. They charge me many times and they not fixed my car. First coming, I thought everything was done, I signed and I took the car. It was running well, when tried to press the break pedal hard to see if its good. Same issue. I am not recommend to go that place. They change other good pieces, after they charge you for nothing. If its not fixed, they charge you. Once its not fixes, they charge you until they took the whole money in your pocket.

I changed brakes just to need to replace them again in 5 months. The store didn t own it their mistake. Tthe mechanics at Monroe don t know what they are doing and likely use bad and cheap parts. Also, the prices are not competitive at all.

I was there early for a state inspection after the other places told me they couldn t get me today , Justin made some recommendations. I did what I could afford and they had me on my way. I will be back for sure!

My regular shop was full so I called around and this shop went above and beyond to get me in, and absolutely blew me away with the service they gave. Brandon went above and beyond - was transparent and honest about costs and what was priority and what I could wait for. I would drive farther again for the service provided.

Made an appointment online for an oil change. Justin called ahead to check in & confirm, which was nice! Justin helped me out a bunch. I was able to get a tire alignment during my lunch break. Justin also let me know my battery was on its way out so I purchased a new one. The staff is great; They go over the vehicle and inform on what needs maintenance/repair/replacement. Justin worked within my budget and helped me to address the important things firstly. Got stranded 4 hours from home brandon helped me out

I would like to say I had a good experience. Not fast at least they were friendly. I dropped my car for rear shocks after being told would be no problem around 4pm Friday. By 6 a tech sheared a bolt which couldnt be ordered until Saturday. I arrived 3 hours after open and my car was still on the lift unattended. I believe the wrong tech worked on my car. Im sure just a mistake but one that costed me money.

I had a tire sensor that needed to be replaced and was in a terrible rush to get to my work. Brendan, the manager was extremely helpful and we got things taken care of immediately.

My mom s car was making some weird rubbing noises and she took it to Monroe automotive in colonie, New York. They diagnosed it as needing new front brakes. We were aware that they were on their last legs so we asked him if he could get it done the same day. Even though it was late in the day, Justin, the service manager said he could do it Even though they close at seven. Anyway, we came back at 6:45 and Justin said they weren t finished yet but if he gave him another half an hour, they would work past closing and get the job done for us. Long story short, Justin and the Monroe automotive crew worked till 730, half an hour past closing to get our brake job done for the same day! I appreciate Justin s crews dedication to customer service and would definitely recommend Monroe automotive in colony New York.

I took my car to the Colonie Monroe on Central on the recommendation of my husband for three things: AC repair, oil change and inspection. Clearly, the manager my husband was familiar with no longer works there. I called and was put on hold several times, (once, for more than 10 minutes before I gave up), was hung up on during holds, and when I finally talked with someone, he was gruff and rushed me like he was doing me a favor for having answered the phone at all. I called later (again, several times) to ask if I could drop off my car after hours and was told theres a slot at the first bay to drop off my keys. Um .. there were exhaust holes and no official locked box, so honestly, I wasnt even sure how safe that was. If anyone happened to see me, they could have easily just grabbed the keys through the hole with a stick. In hindsight, it was not my best decision to leave it there. I got a call at 10 and the guy told me my car was done. I said wow -- that was everything? He told me then that he couldnt do the inspection because the inspector wasnt there that day. OK, thats fine since I had some time for that. He gave me the price, which was a lot less than I expected (I was never given a quote) and I said Id get it either later in the day or the next morning (this morning). My husband and I go to get the car, and what wasnt done? The AC! And, that was the MAIN REASON I took my car in to begin with because I have a road trip planned. The guys excuse was that someone from the other shop took parts from the [AC checker thing], and that since he wasnt there, he didnt know why that info wasnt communicated to me. He called the guy who was there and got no answers, and I heard him tell him that theyll need to talk when he comes in. That will be a fun talk. It was obvious the dude was stressed, likely due to staffing issues, and I feel bad for him, but that doesn t fix my problem. On a positive note, he didnt charge me for the $125 oil change and offered to try and make an appointment with another Monroe shop. I ll take the free oil change, thanks but I ll find another shop.

Staff was very friendly and hard working. I made an appointment by phone at 9am and they got me in at noon on the same day. I was seen right away and my tire was replaced and I was driving home in less than 45 minutes

My check engine light came in so my co worker told me about this place .. I gave him a call first thing in the morning told him what was going.. he then told me i can bring the car in he can look at it in 30 min. When I got there I was attended to right away he got my keys and went to work found the problem and fixed it...This was one of my best customer service experience thus far and my first mechanic experience which I was so nervous about but they made it so easy and great. This awesome service men saved me from stay with flat tire at the end of day. I dropped 15 minutes before they close at night and they did a quick fix with the spray confirming I need to buy a new tire. The spray came out a bit from the hole (see on the photo) and still holding a pressure. They did it for free. I ordered a new tire to replace. My great thanks to these men and the best recommendations!

The manager accepted my short notice request for tire service (slow leak) on a Sunday morning while I was on a distant business trip. In and out in less than 30 minutes ! Outstanding service !

I was visiting from Virginia when my car informed me that I was down to 15% oil life. While I figured it would likely be okay to drive back, I didnt want to take any chances on my cars maintenance. Honest, fast, and professional service with a family feel that youd never expect from a big name like Monro. Honesty goes far with me and these guys are old school. If I could give six stars I would.

I advice everyone to avoid this place. They turned me away on two different appointments. They did not take responsibility and blamed it on their own co-workers and lack of manager on site. This is no way to run a business. Had to go to another auto service place after wasting my time with Monro - never again.

I went there on 7/27 to get my oil changed and they were going to inspect it as well. They changed the oil, topped off my brake fluid and cleared all of my codes? My normal mechanic thought that was strange but either way I drove out and went right DOWN THE STREET to another plaza a quarter mile down the street . I went into a restaurant to pick up food and came out to find that my car would start but the shifter no longer moved out of park. Spoke to manager the next day and he said there was no way to prove they did it and that it was just a coincidence my car has never done this before still no call from management most like have to file at small claims

Just got a car at my shop that had been there.They did a State inspection and they put the mileage as 15,000 when the vehicle has 150,000ish,maybe check your numbers first im an inspector, and I always double check everything to make sure it is correct and nice job stripping the drain plug and blaming someone else, people this is only Monroe just as bad as Valvoline or midas

I truly felt this shop was the way to go seeing as how quick they were to allowing walk ins, as well as quickly making appointments. I had previously had a headlight bulb changed where they told me the wiring was done incorrectly by Firestone who had previously fixed it. I called them up recently and told them the Chevy dealership charged me 200 just to evaluate and confirm what I told them I already needed was correct and that they wanted to charge me $800+ to change it. I asked Monroe that if I got the parts I needed ($76 total) if I could pay them labor to replace a headlight assembly and pigtail. The man stated it would be faster if I got the parts and that they could change it within two hours at an appointment. When I took my car in, I waited about two hours and in that time was told that they needed to order another piece and that when it was delivered it was the wrong one and then they had the correct one eventually dropped off. I was confused bc I had already got all the parts they needed. I paid around $180 for two hours of labor which consisted of them waiting on the piece that they didn t need while they worked on other cars?! I didn t question the price or their report until I found out just how easy it was to change out the other headlight. I needed my other headlight changed out due to water damage and I ordered the same pieces plus a socket wrench ($85 total) and literally 10 minutes of my time without watching a YouTube video and without help. How and why did I pay this shop for two hours of labor for the same job? I m so disappointed and would not suggest going here seeing as how even for a small fix, especially if you re a woman or someone that knows nothing about cars. FYI a 10 year old child could change a headlight.

Great service !! Had a flat on the highway and the towing truck brought us there and in the next hour the tire was changed at very fair price. Had an amazing chat with the receptionnist who was absolutely delightful. Highly recommand it !

You will be in danger if you take your car to the Monroe in Colonie. I came in due to a noise and a TPMS light. They charged me $700 for work that didnt need to be done, and then just deflated my tires to 10-lbs below the recommended pressure to get the light to shut off until I was 50 miles down the road. A reputable mechanic looked at their shoddy work and was horrified; a brake shop that replaced rotors and calipers (unnecessarily) completely missed a dangerously-worn-out wheel bearing AND two worn-out ball joints. They took $700, deflated my tires, did unnecessary work, and sent me down the road towards a dangerous accident. Incompetence? Malevolence? Either way, stay away.

Mike and his team at Monro have been doing a good job doing what I need done. I ve had some issues at this location over the last 10 years but this group makes the experience better. They are giving me what I expect.

I am writing here to make a complaint. I think you should inform your branches about the meaning of the word reservation. Whenever I make a reservation and come to your branch, I always have to wait a few hours and I dont have time for that. If you are really busy, please do not make reservations for people and tell them come during the day and we will let you in one by one according to our availability . This is so annoying. I wake up early in the morning and arrive exactly at the reservation time, and your employee here tells me to wait a few hours.

This is the worst service I have ever had. I had an appointment for 8 am showed up early. A woman walked in ahead of me and they took her car right in. When I questioned why my vehicle didnt go in ahead of hers I was told I have 7 appointments at 8 am you can wait if you like It is now 9:55 a.m. and my vehicle has just been. I was here for a simple tire balance and it is going to take more than 2 1/2 hours to have that done. I will never use this location again and would never recommend this location to anyone. the service is terrible and they act like making me wait over 2 hours is no big deal. Never ever ever again Will it come to the shop again.

Amazing-! Im a stranger here and had a battery warning sign popped out suddenly on my car dashboard. I panicked as it was Saturday and I don t know where to go. I called this repairshop and checked if they can quickly check my vehicle - They did my car diagnostics in all possible ways and made me sure that it is safe to drive-! Usually change my own oil, but read lazy and had Jiffy Lube do it once. They stripped out a screw for the skid plate and I couldn t get it out, neither could they. They suggested I check out Monro, and these guys couldn t fix it either (that badly stripped) but they taught me how to work around it without bending the plate. Didn t charge me anything for figuring that out out teaching me a lesson, had them change the oil while I was there, couldn t be happier with these guys.

This is a place that i will highly recommend. They fixed my head lights problem really quick. And they helped me fix the creak sound problem for free. Very professional and helpful. I will definitely recommend this place to my friends.

Really great service they helped me a lot and at reasonable price. I broke down next door to Monro and they helped me by storing my vehicle there till I came up with the money to get it fixed and they did a great job with my clutch.

We developed a flat tire late on a Sunday afternoon. Because it was Mothers Day most tire places were either closed or too busy to help us. We pulled into Monro Tire in Colonie and Jesse the manager on duty had a guy looking at the tire within a few minutes. They fixed the tire and sent us on our way. I was grateful for their help and Ill definitely swing by when I need new tires on the car. Thanks again for the prompt service.

Update of previous review. Their reliability and integrity is nil. Last fall just before we went to Florida for the winter I stopped in to make an appointment for them to look at my vehicle as it made a noise when I made a turn. They said we can take it right now and an hour later we ask what is going on and just know they are keeping something from us. After another half hour they reluctantly tell us they lost our keys. As we left our other set in Florida they called a Lockworks. After 4 hours we leave with our car but this means our set in Florida has to be reprogrammed to the new key. They promise they will pay to have it done when we return in the spring. Now they say no, we cant do that. Now if I cant get resolution from headquarters I have no choice but to take it to the next level. The kicker is we were so nice and understanding through this. Oh and we were on our way home from the Dr and the last thing we needed was to be stuck there all afternoon. We thought it would take a minute just to get an appointment. BTW, they are never on time for appointments. Plan on at least twice as long as they say but we are used to that.

Just went in for an oil change, nothing fancy, but service was very efficient and it was a pleasant experience, no attempt to upsell or anything. Ill be keeping them in mind for future work, for sure!

Outstanding service! Ive used Monro for many years, and as with any chain, experiences vary between locations. The store at 1550 Central Avenue in Colonie is consistently the best. The manager, Mike, is friendly and helpful, as is all of his crew. Several times, they have fit me in with little or no warning. And the times that Ive made an appointment, theyve always gotten me in on time, and out in a speedy fashion. Last visit, I needed a tire repaired; they got me right in, and although I had purchased the tires from Monro, it was a different location and I didnt have the paperwork. They had me in and out in minutes, and didnt charge. Car repair is difficult, both knowing who to trust for pricing and recommended service, and that the work will be done correctly. This location has all of that, and expedient, friendly service as well. Wouldnt go anywhere else.

My vehicle had a low tire pressure light on and the Stewarts air pump up the street wasnt working...I came here and found the staff here were very friendly. They asked me to pull my car up to the bay, filled all my tires, and sent me on my way, no charge. I will be back!

We were an hour and a half from home when our muffler decided to try and fall off of our car this Friday. It was very close to closing time, but Mike (the store manager) was incredibly helpful in working to make sure we would be able to get home, and totally saved our weekend event! Amazing service center with honest, good people who will help you out in a pinch! We were 1/2 way through an 8 hour road trip when our muffler heat shield decided to start to come off and began rattling like crazy. They squeezed us in and had us back on the road in no time flat! Monro at 1550 Central Ave: Professional, fast & helpful! We had an emergency flat, punctured tire, we pulled in, no appointment & they got to us within minutes even though they had 4 cars on the lifts, was able to repair it & we were back out the door in 20 minutes!

I had a leak in my tire during a road trip, and stopped to get it patched. They put a pause on what they had going on and patched it.... For free!! Thanks Monro!

Called for a brake issue and mike was able to get me in that day to take a look. He was able to replace the brakes and rotors same day, got us back in our car and good to go all the same day I called. Would recommend them to anyone looking for service!

Cant thank these guys enough at 1550 Central Avenue Colonie. Exhaust was making noise and didnt know whether it was gonna be a big job or something simple. Turned out broken bolts at the muffler and a new gasket and I was on my way. Got me in and out in like a half hour. Very fair on the pricing as well. Go to MONRO!!!

I was in a complex situation last weekend as my car had broken down while on a road trip. I had the car towed to this Monro, and they were able to fit me in with almost no warning, and despite being overall quite busy on a Friday afternoon. Mike, the manager, was incredibly helpful, patient, and consistently went above and beyond through the weekend to assist with diagnosing the problems with the car, offering clear explanations at each step, and advice with how to proceed without making me feel pressured in any way. He was very accessible and flexible with regard to communication the next few days, and Jesse, the other member of the team I spoke with was also quite helpful working on the car and answering my questions on Sunday when Mike was off. Ultimately, I ended up having the car towed back home, and Mike was still willing to offer input on my plan moving forward, even though he technically was losing my business. My experience at Monro helped to take a very stressful and uncertain situation into one where I felt comfortable at each step. Mike and the rest of the team are true experts, and my experience speaks to their integrity. I had spent several hours at their location, with plenty of clients coming in and out, and they extended the same level of expertise, professionalism, and integrity to the rest of their clientele. I received a letter in the mail stating vehicle safety inspection due. I called Monro Sunday morning letting the guy know I want to do an inspection but my check engine light is on. I also informed him that there is no malfunction light on or do I drive the car so it probably something minor. He told me to bring the car after work n they will diagnose it. I went to the one at 691 Loudon rd and before I could finish my sentence the guy Andrew told me they dont diagnose cars no one there does. I told him I spoken to someone yesterday n he told me no not true I even told him I brought my car in last year his response was we have totally different staff. I wasted my time going there. I called another Monro and he explained that yes they diagnose cars n all Monro do the same. I was racially profile. Because Im black Andrew refuse to service me.

I went in for what I thought to be a fairly routine swap out of some rims. Even before they brought the car in Michael Degoski astutely noted that the rare wheels were flared out . After switching the rims he had the car checked for alignment and it was way out of wack. They were able to get it back into the green . While it was up on the rack Michael showed me that it was missing the skid plate and engine shield and one of the inner wheel wheels was damaged. Himself and JV were extremely helpful in pointing out exactly what parts I needed. JV even looks up the exact part for me. I am extremely satisfied for the work they performed. Thanks.

I had a great experience here on 9-26-21. From out of town and had a near flat. Called two other places to be turned down because they were busy but at the colonie monroe they had me come down right away and someone who knew what they were doing pulled out a screw and put in a plug and that was that. Friendly and helpful and nice on the phone.

This place is fantastic! I have always gone to Honda in Albany. They often are busy and even charge to get the car diagnosed. This past weekend, I thought I had a tire problem I took my car in and it was seen immediately. No pressing issues and the service was free. The next day my engine light turned on. I went straight back to Monro. They diagnosed the problem and did not find any issues. Again the service was free, quick, and through. I m so thankful.

I found this store using Google Reviews to find a competent muffler shop. I had an annoying exhaust leak in my car and it was tricky to diagnose. The manager Mike, scheduled me in and had 2 repair options within minutes. They fixed it the next day for a reasonable price and a great attitude about the quality of the repair. I will definitely go back and so should you.
