Traveled from VA to Albany area. My A/C went out 40 miles south of Albany. Ayers was booked a week out plus, and thankfully I accepted the date. A planned 7 day stay turned into almost 3 weeks! Felt completely safe leaving my car in their lot the night b4 my apptment. Ayers had my problem (bad compressor) diagnosed and repaired in just under half a day. I am a long time customer. Today I took my car in to check the battery as it had died twice. It was almost closing time but they tested the battery and confirmed that it needed replacement. They had one in stock and replaced it. I was in and out in thirty minutes

I m not one to normally leave reviews but this shop made the exception. This shop is beyond wonderful! I have a 05 Acura rsx that i have taken to other shops in the past. With bad luck at every other shop, when my car broke down and had to be towed I decided I would try ayers that is conveniently half a mile from my house. They got to my car very quickly and was beyond helpful and thorough! Not only did they find and fix the main problem but was able to fix other problems that other shops couldn t. All of the people that work there are very helpful, reasonable and friendly. I can t say enough about this shop! Definitely will be my go to shop from now on!!

I brought my car to Steve Ayers for a routine inspection, and he charged me $22 bucks labor for a $2.50 light bulb... That he didnt even change. I had changed the bulb myself 3 days prior. English is not my first language, so maybe it was my accent that made him think I would not notice. It would be one thing if he actually changed the bulb, but what bulb warrants 22 dollars labor? It took me 2 minutes. If I could post a picture of my bill, I would. I would not go to Ayers Automotive again if he was the last body shop on the planet. I am so shocked to see he has a 4.7 star rating, he must not get many immigrants. Imagine what hed have charged me if I wanted a big job done.

USELESS! I just called to get an estimate on a 2011 Ford Fiesta TIMING BELT change and the women on the other line told me I had to bring it in! I proceed to drive there and call her from the parking lot to say Im here, in your parking lot, can I get an estimate now? She wanted me to LEAVE THE CAR! I can understand if it was a job that required a mechanic to look at what was wrong with the car but I wasnt asking to DIAGNOSE a problem! Waste of time, and its too bad since they have a lot of great reviews!

After bringing our car to different commercial mechanics and having horrible experiences, we were so pleased to finally find a permanent family mechanic to help us with all our cars needs. I took my wife s 2013 Toyota Prius in for an inspection and it has two license plate lights, but one was blown. I have been charged $5.00 from another garage before. So I thought this won t be so bad. They said the light bulb was a $1 and they charged me 0.2 of an hour to put it in, which was $21.00. I watched the guy do it, it was 3 minutes at the most pop the cover off of the back door pull the bulb out and put the new one in. The total bill was $45.21 for an NYS inspection and to change a light. I questioned the owner about it, he said he could discount it, but did not. I paid $45.21. I know I will never go back to this garage. I was hoping to have a nice trustworthy garage, that isn t going to take advantage of you.

Ok, folks.. the new boss is making this place better than before. A no-nonsense type deal. Quality parts cost more, and he uses them, instead of the cheap Chinese garbage that costs pennies and makes a ton more profit, but has you back again inside a month. I have a 2008 Honda Odyssey that needed a timing belt replacement. Liked the reviews for Ayers and called for a quote. The quote was very reasonable and the work was superb. Steve is very trustworthy and takes care of any issues or concerns that the customer might have. I had the tries replaced and while driving home, the TPMS light came on. Brought the van back the next morning and Steve repaired the issue with the TPMS system that afternoon. I highly recommend Ayers Automotive for all of your repairs. It is comforting to find a trustworthy and highly competent automotive repair shop. You will not be disappointed.

Each time I find myself landing at the garage again, I end up relieved. It wasnt so bad after all. The prices are fair. The staff is courteous. The owner invests his personal time and care into this shop, and it shows.

I walked into this place, first thing in the morning, to inquire about where my old mechanic, who used to be across the street, went. Steve said they closed more than three years ago, which left me with a leaking radiator down the block, and no trusted mechanic. He said they were just getting ready to start the day, and bring it into the bay to get looked at. 10 minutes later I was given a diagnosis, and a quote. When I asked the time frame for the repair, expecting a day or two, I was told early afternoon. In fact, I got called at 1:30 saying it was done. This shop is wonderful. Maybe this isn t typical, being brought in ASAP and such, and that s okay. I m happy with the work, and the staff and will be using this shop for all my future repair work.

I recently moved to the Albany area from WNY. As a single female, taking your car to a mechanic is always nerve-racking. How much are they going to take advantage of my wallet this time....Steve and his crew took care of me and my Jeep when my engine light mysteriously popped on and my car was having trouble accelerating. His crew was honest and made sure I was aware of everything before making the decision to get the work done. The price was incredibly fair. I will absolutely be coming back to Steve s in the future and I would recommend anyone else to do the same!

Ive been coming to gr auto for years while george and galina owned and I absolutely loved them..then i came one day and they were gone..i was skeptical at first with the new owner but they do great work..friendly..fast..and fair. 2/12/19 Took my car in today for a tune up. And as usual the work was done effectively and efficiently with great care. Wasnt to hard on the pocket but good quality work done on your car is priceless. I will continue to do business here and let anyone know that this is a great shop.

Had a nagging intermittent problem with a car not starting; they got us in early on a Monday, got it diagnosed and fixed in a hurry. Very impressed.

Beware this shop is under new management now. They charged me more than $300 to replace a battery. 142.95 for the battery, $105 to check the cars charging system (!), 31.50 for the labor, plus tax. Avoid these guys. Even if they were honest their labor cost is $105 per hour, which is way out of line for the area.

My friend got a flat tire on our way to Delmar from Glenmont and in our search for a close gas station, auto repair, we ended up at GR and Chris came to take a look. He checked w/his boss - Steve Ayers (owner) who came out and changed my friends flat tire for free. That was so unexpected and I just want to add my friend said she would start using them for repairs on her car now. Thank you Steve
