Midas in East Greenbush

I woke up to a flat tire. 4th one in the last couple years. I called around and Midas was the best deal in the area. Todd helped get my car in same day, new tire, inspection and oil change- all for the lower the price of just a tire at the competitors. Todd was friendly, knowledgeable and trustworthy! I won t take my car anywhere else going forward. The manager-Dave was also great. Outstanding guys that work there!

Final Update - Do not trust Midas Corporate, Midas, or Harry Felton whose the District Manager for this area. Midas corporate is spineless and plays laissez faire with their franchises. Everyone can do better, find a better, more reliable shop that honors their mistakes and fixes them. Midas lied to me about Harry calling me, when I told them Id contact Verizon and obtain my phone records of outgoing and incoming they choked up on the phone. **Update** - After two weeks I am being avoided by the District Manager, Harry Felton. They did try to contact me, I had things going on but still made the effort to connect. Even offered to this gentleman an apology over the voicemail, which was pointless and unnecessary clearly. Also, he didnt understand what was going on, so - I offered to even write an email to them so the information was accurate. District Manager scoffed at that gesture as well. Midas Corporate does nothing but take notes and thats it. For the issue I am dealing with I would of thought I would be communicating with corporate. Im not taken seriously as a customer or a human being. To get the ball moving, Ill start with BBB and submit a complaint to NYS consumer protection. I generally go to Midas to get service done on my vehicles, I have for over 15 years. I appreciate the discovery these guys made regarding my custom rim and wheel set. They showed me that not only was I missing a hub-centric ring, but 2 rings were installed into one rim, one tire had it done correctly, and, well - two tires with no hub centric ring. Im pretty upset because Midas has completed all of my services, including the traditional oil and tire rotation, easiest service to do and have completed. So, I have 3 out of 4 rings, I need it apparently, but Midas can put everything back together and I am on my way? Oddly and ironically, there is a tire service center up the street. Super nice group of individuals, thankfully they actually had my size for rings. $37.80 later I am back at Midas, oh wait, I forgot to mention - I had to walk there. Because they were working on my car. Instead of offering me a ride, Im pretty sure I was changed more overall because they had to wait for me to come back. A tire rotation with full synthetic oil change on discount was $101.19. As of 1/30/2024, Midas in Albany, NY did my full synthetic oil change, tire rotation, and rebalancing for $119.96, that received the discount also, which the discount is for an oil change and tire rotation. The Best Parts : 1. Midas lost and installed my hub centric rings wrong, and this store discovered it. I appreciate it. What I dont appreciate though is this is Midas doing - Dont offer me a credit card to FIX YOUR mistakes. Being offered your credit card, services, and parts to fix problems you perpetuated and/or created was like saying you acknowledged you messed my car up, but wanted money to fix your problems. 2. I paid almost $40 dollars in new hub centric rings, why replace only one? Might as well do all four especially if you tell me its damaged but could still work. No reimbursement offered for the hub centric rings, but that only scratches the surface of the problems. 3. Unless they used Royal Purple for my oil change (it says Valvoline Synpower Synthetic on my invoice) it was $101.19 with there coupon. Pricing seems pretty weird compared to my January visit to Midas, but I guess a lot can in about 4 months. 4. Ill mention again they tried to sell me their problems for me to fix, but this isnt my fault, its an inability to install a simple part correctly costs me now a new set of ceramic or porcelain pads, and performance grade tires. Its interesting how my brake pads are worn badly in the back, not the front, and I have uneven treadwear, I can feel it driving since my centric rings were installed correctly now. I contacted the Midas corporate office, but they are useless. This review will circulate other locations Ive been to also.

Unfriendly and definitely not walk in for oil change

Visited this location in august 2022 for an inspection . Needless to say I did not pass or as the manager would say they didn t even check because my tires were bald . Left sticker ON (thought that was helpful until they tried to give me a list of devices to get done overpriced at about $1500 I ll pass . Left and car was Rocky with 4 month old in sure got home ti notice my Lug nuts all (4 ) were OFF glad we made it home safely contacted them immediately and someone had to come to my home . Of course because this was their faults . Anywho was promised a free oil change for next one and when I tried to redeem recently , manager said it wasn t in the system wrong place blah blah . They jerked me never will I be back or send others .

The staff were very friendly and explained all of the repairs they were making. They even emailed me pictures of the brakes and rotors that needed replacing. The fixed all of my concerns and I was able to get several things fixed at the same time.

Brough my work truck in for tire install and alignment. Pricing was fair and Dave T went out of his way to be sure I had a great experience: Professional, accommodating, and flexible. I don t usually go to chain establishments but they may have changed my mind. Thank you Midas and very special thanks to Dave.

Superb n love it

I would like to thank both Caitlin (apologies if that isnt the correct spelling) and Grace for their amazing care for our daughter and son who were in a car accident yesterday right near the shop. Both women went above and beyond to help us all until we could get there; even going as far as picking my husband and I up so we could get to them quickly (as the kids had our only car) to bringing our dog who was also with the kids a cup of water. They helped calm my daughter who was pretty shaken up and we are so very thankful for all that they did. Thank you a million times!

The service I received by Grace and Dee was absolutely amazing. They helped me a great deal and made sure that I could leave that day with my car and my a/c fixed. I was greatly appreciative and I thank them very much. I will definitely be coming back to them with any of my car problems.

The Midas in East Greenbush was a great experience. The auto shop was clean and organized. The people at the front desk was so friendly and intentive. They answered all my questions and made me feel at ease.

Ive always had a great experience with Midas in East Greenbush. They are very friendly there and work to save the customer money. On my most recent trip there (I purchased my used car as a project needing lots of TLC) they diagnosed and corrected a problem missed by other mechanics. I highly recommend this Midas. The young woman at the customer service desk, Grace ( I believe) is super.

My shop of choice when the dealership cant get me in. I recently moved across the country and had some break issues. They worked with the shop that was doing the work and they were able to have the rotors covered under warranty at the new shop. Not too mention they made all the phone calls to get everything situated, and were more than happy to help.

Grace and the Midas team were incredibly helpful when my wheel bearing failed on the highway on a Saturday afternoon. Grace had a mechanic check out my car the same day, and had it fixed by Monday morning. Great communication throughout the process, and she helped me save money on several issues on the car. Would recommend anyone to bring their car to this Midas. Thank you Grace!

It was quick and efficient

I broke down on Rt. 90 out of Albany. Midas was the nearest AAA approved service station. AAA towed me there, they diagnosed it within a few minutes as bad alternator and fit me in to replace it right away. Only 3 hours elapsed from the time I broke down to the time I was back on the road. Made my connections. Great service.

Fastest service Ive ever had! Knowledgeable, professional, and the entire process was easy. I am a bit of a tightwad, and it felt a little more expensive than I expected, but I was given an appointment the next day and all the work was completed within that 24 hours!

We just called, today around 230pm, to set up an appointment get new tires installed. Im not sure if the employee who answered was in a bad mood, but he got rude and snapped at us over the phone because we didnt know the diameter of the tires and only knew the year, make, and model. We have used Midas for our tires before and have never been treated like that.

They could not repair my car. They charged very high cost more than $2000 dollar. Unprofessional service. I want to money back.

The bad: it was $68 to change one simple headlight bulb. $13 for parts and $50 for 15ish minutes of labor. I was not provided with an estimate nor an opportunity to approve the charges before the work was completed. The good: They got me in same day, saw me on time, did the job quickly, and were nice! 5 stars for service, 3 for transparency and price.

Chris and David were helpful in educating me about what my car needed and the importance of it. Glad I went there. They had everything I needed and were able to do 4 tires, 4 full brake sets, and a bulb change in 1.5 hours.

I had the opportunity to hear what management was explaining to other customers over the phone & walk-ins about many things from tires, shocks and more for hours. Having driven MANY different vehicles & motorcycles in my 56 years of driving (Even worked/repaired many in my younger years) I must say David is honest and his words are true. Some take his advice and a few needed to think about it. Hes definitely a big plus in my book and worth recommending him to others. The associates are superb - almost to the point that I would want to visit & strike up a conversation whether I need work or not.

I pre scheduled my appointment. My service was completed on time and more importantly I felt that they went out of their way to make sure that I was satisfied with the work they had done. I strongly recommend this Midas location to any person who is nervous about the quality of service you may get at automotive chain service centers.

Had some mixed experiences here. The last one was bad. They replaced my radiator/hoses etc. A week later my car is overheating and... they broke the hood latch. So I am not able to see what is happening in there.

Replaced oil pan due to rust and oil leaking

My wife and I recently moved from Beacon to East Greenbush NY. I am disabled and both my wife and I are senior citizens. I needed an annual vehicle inspection on our 2007 Honda Accord EXL with currently @135,009 miles. On inspection, the (excellent) technician detected a failed Slide Bar Link . I had an excellent experience speaking/working with the 2 Managers given our special needs. They took the time to listen to me and we completed the work efficiently and effectively. I have worked as a Healthcare Executive in Healthcare for @40 years in organizations throughout the country and in India. My experience at this Midas exceeded my (high) standards/expectations. Called at 4:55 but all technicians went home for the day then I got a cheerful sarcastic sorry . They don t close until 6pm.

Just wanted to warn other potential customers of the pressure and pushy sales tactics that were used on me when I went in for a front end alignment. I walked in and simply asked for my front tires to be aligned because I was feeling some shaking at high speeds. After a couple of minutes with the car on the lift, I was approached with a repair bill with a total amounting to around $1,500, minus the new tires I would need. Not only was I told that these repairs needed to be done, I was told that if I even tried to drive the vehicle back down the street I would be in serious trouble and the car would basically fall apart. This all had to be done now. Surprisingly enough, they could get me in immediately the next day to get all of this extensive work done. Needless to say, I was a bit caught off guard and wanted a second opinion. I took the services bill with me to a trusted mechanic who I have used for 20+ years and had them look at my vehicle ( I did not go to them in the first place because they do not do alignments). After hours of inspecting the vehicle, they called me and told me that the vehicle in no way needed any of the work listed on this quote. They tested the car, drove it, lifted it and spent hours inspecting it. What they came up with was, as expected, I needed a front end alignment. As someone who works in the service industry, dealing with similar repairs to vehicles etc. and more importantly handling customers, I was stunned at how bad I felt leaving this place. In my life I have never felt more like someone was trying to take advantage of me and I am so grateful that I do have a trusted mechanic who could verify these so called necessary repairs. I am writing this review in the event that someone is not as fortunate to be able to get a second opinion and will be at the mercy of a mechanic throwing them a ridiculous bill that they have to pay ASAP. I have my issues with this chain car places (MIDAS, Valvoline, etc.) time and time again, and they never disappoint in letting me down entirely. All in all, please be weary of what you are told and, if possible, get a second opinion. It saved me thousands, right before the holiday too.

Nothing goes easy for me, including this repair. There were several people troubleshooting for what they could do for my repair. Ended up I had to leave my truck there overnight and the owner gladly gave me a ride home. He even picked up another customer to bring him back to the store so they can get their car. Truck was ready next morning. I have to say the service was great. Nice people. Will go back next time I have to.

I continue to be impressed with this store. I have been in twice recently to repair and then rotate my tires. The staff is very accommodating with my schedule and very friendly. Grace assisted me both times and she was just wonderful. The manager was also very kind. Bonus, all the services were free because I had purchased the tires from them! Once I waited and the room was comfortable and the next time I dropped it off. Service was quick as well. I will continue to be using them when needed.

Super nice and informative. Explained car issues so I could easily understand. Got job done in a timely matter.

We were driving from NJ to VT when the water pump went on our car while on the NY Thruway. No shops were open and the closest dealership wasn t willing to help us. We called this shop and they immediately said bring it in and they ll fix it. The guys that run the shop were super nice and accommodating! With an estimated wait time of 5hrs, they surprised us and were able to fix it right away. They also informed us to reach out to get reimbursed for our expenses because the car was under warranty.

They are pricey but they do decent work in most cases. In the past theyve had a revolving door of people managing so you never know whos going to be there hard to build a rapport. The only downside is someone there still is using an impact wrench on oil pans. The only other issue I had last few years is I paid to have a bumper put on and they just used random screws they probably found on the floor to put it on there terrible job for 150 plus dollars
