AAMCO worked on my transmission over a month ago. I waited to leave my review to ensure they did as good of a job as I thought originally. $4800 for a new ford transmission. Not an ideal price, but wow did they do a wonderful job. My ford drives better than ever. Shout out to Vanessa for being #1. Well worth the price to know you are going to have a reliable transmission. They all are experienced and very exceptional at what they do.

I ve been helped by Vanessa twice now, and she has gone above and beyond my expectations. She is up-front, honest, and puts the safety of you and your vehicle first.

2012 Nissan Murano CVT went out. AAMCO replaced it with a remanufactured CVT having 3 times the warranty period and 100k miles. All at less than 60% of dealers estimate. We did have delays all due to shipper. Vanessa kept communication with me so that I knew status. Also identified a few other things needing replacement under the vehicle and out of sight. And they took care of those too. Happy & friendly people at the East Rochester branch. I replaced a transmission in my car in 1970s from AAMCO in Louisville, Ky where I was impressed with their workmanship also.

Excellent service, I had a number of potential issues that I was unsure of the severity of, and they dealt with me honestly and very fairly. The staff is knowledgeable and their communication is on point. Id highly recommend this center to anyone who wants a trustworthy and respectful group to take care of their auto issues.

About a year ago, I had my transmission swapped at this place, and I must say its truly reliable, and the service here is exceptional! I deliberately waited before writing this review to observe how the work held up and to assess the post-service experience. I can confidently say a big thank you for the excellent work and the dedicated customer support. Vanessa was there every step of the way, readily addressing all my queries and even assisting with additional issues that arose after the swap, unrelated to the transmission itself. Even now, my car is running smoothly, covering almost 10k miles since the work was completed! I couldnt be more pleased with the outcome.

Got us right in and was done the next day, we already had the parts which helped get it done faster Had problems with work that was done a month later.

5 STARS (I WISH I COULD GIVE MORE!) My 2014 Honda had a broken axel that one of the Honda dealers in town wasnt able to fix. In fact, they wanted me to replace the transmission in order to fix the axle! I had the car towed to AAMCO in East Rochester and they quickly (and correctly) diagnosed the issue and fixed my car quickly (and for WAYYYY less than the dealer). Vanessa was phenomenal! She was incredibly knowledgeable about my car/model, super-responsive and communicated my options every step of the way. Vanessa is the best!! I took my car in to get looked at for transmission issues and she diagnosed the problem right away. However, she also told me about a lawsuit and warranty that I had no idea existed and saved me $5,000 by referring me to a local auto shop! Vanessa was very rude and unprofessional. I will never go to AAMCO again. I got opinions from three different mechanics and they were not satisfied with the work at all.

Highly recommend!! I have brought my car here multiple times now, and have always received excellent service. Whether it s an oil change, inspection, or busted alternator this place has always fixed my car up and given me by far the fairest priced services. I have had work done at other places, and this place has always fixed the shotty (and expensive) work I ve had done elsewhere. Had transmission installed here about 50k miles and about 3 years ago. They inspected and test drove vehicle for free not finding transmission lines need work recommended by dealer. Going forward will be my go to service shop.

I high recommend this place, Shaun is excellent, honest and gets things done. I was in the auto business off and on for 20 years and this place delivers exactly what every car owner wants. An honest experience with straight forward answers and no BS. They replaced my torque converter in one day after dropping it off with no appointment. This is one of the last places that does exactly what they promise. I will be bringing all my families cars here for repair.

Excellent job! It was a trying time as my 2008 is my baby and it needed a new transmission (manual). It was a process to get the right parts in due to lack of supply and my car being so old. Shaun and Vanessa were rather patient with me. But, he and Vanessa found the part finally. Once fixed, I had to return two times. Once because as I was driving away after the fix, my radio and AC dash lights started blinking on and off. Thinking he may have loosened something while working on my transmission, Shaun researched this problem and fixed it. It was nothing to do with the transmission fix. It was a coincidence that it happened the day I drove away with a new transmission. He texted us his research...google sites. We were most appreciative. He did not charge us for this. About a month later, I returned as my clutch started sticking to the floor board. He feared this had to do with a bushing only Subaru had (on back order). He had previously devised his own repair. This time, he tweaked and adjusted it but said Subaru needed to look at it. Subaru just called me and their head mechanic said Shaun did a great job and they thought the clutch /transmission was fine. It might have just needed some adjustments which again, Shaun did for me yesterday. Honest, knowledgeable, trustworthy and patient! Highly recommend!

I decided to go to AAMCO based on the positive reviews that I viewed. I received nothing but excellent service from them. They looked at my car in a timely fashion and communicated with me clearly about the issues that I had with my car. Vanessa was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. I even walked away knowing a little bit more about cars than I did before! I will recommend their services to anyone and I will use them again in the future.

Very good experience with AAMCO. Took my minivan to the shop with transmission problems. They diagnosed the problem- transmission blown and needs replacement. They suggested I do not replace it since the car had very high miles and other issues and not worth spending 4 grand. It was refreshing to see such honesty and professionalism! The mechanic (Rick) took the time to explain his diagnosis showing me the problem. He seemed very competent and knew what he was talking about. In addition they did not charge me a cent for diagnosis. I highly recommend these guys!!!

A couple of years ago my transmission stopped working. I live in central NY and went to my local AAMCO dealer.. I had no problems until recently when my car stopped and a large puddle of transmission fluid appeared under the vehicle. The local AAMCO dealer had retired and the closest dealer was in East Rochester.. Even though the transmission was under warranty I was concerned to fix the problem would take a lot of time costing me time and AAMCO corporate money to make good on the warranty. What a pleasant and unexpected surprise when I was told my car would be ready in a couple of days and the problem was minor. Without pressure Vanessa told me my battery was dead, which I knew, and if I wanted they would replace the battery. Then she gave me a wide range of prices for known batteries and I gave her the ok. Again no pressure. My car was ready when they said it would, my battery works fine and most important no transmission problem. I recommend this group for their professionalism, the way they looked out for me, and most important providing incredible service at a verry fair price.

I have had nothing but amazing experiences with this shop. Vanessa and the rest of the shop are the absolute best at what they do. Definitely fair pricing, not trying to talk you or scare you into services not needed and break things down if you need them to. In the last 4 months they have answered my questions on good cars to buy, replaced my transmission for half of the price than at least 3 other shops and replaced my rear wheel bearings and front brakes, pads and rotors. All of this has been done in a timely fashion with very reasonable prices. We travel an hour and a half now because we have finally found a shop that looks out for our best interest in all of the ways one can. Will always recommend Vanessa and her team!

First time bringing vehicle there and told me my issue did not require a repair and did not charge me. Seems like an honest operation.

I worked initially with Vanessa, and had a technical consultation with Ken. Right from first contact, the people were friendly and knowledgeable. They gave me straight quotes in plain language that were comparable to the numbers my own research had estimated. The repair decisions were supported with diagnostic testing and when the in-progress work uncovered choices needing to be made, I got clear options supported with pics of the problems. The work proceeded as predicted and my vehicle was ready on schedule. The completed results were all defined in my final paperwork and ongoing communications around the aftermath experience were encouraged. The cost was as predicted in the estimates and they did it once try to nickel-and-dime me with incremental add-ons. This business is highly recommended as staffed with honest, reasonable, intelligent and professional people using realistic solutions and pricing.

Wow, thats about all I can say! They checked over my car, and said I was down a few quarts of fluid, but they did not know which part of the transmission was leaking. They refilled it, and told me to drive it for a week and come back. No charge! The following week they checked it again, saw that I was again down fluid, and diagnosed the problem (not repairable), with the options being to put fluid in as needed, or replace the transmission (which they did not recommend for my 2006 Honda), again, no charge! Ill be back.

The reviews proved true for us--I have nothing but great things to say. We had been told by a major dealer in the area that we shouldnt put any more money into our Toyota Tacoma, which has less than 100,000 miles on it, and they were steering us toward buying a new vehicle. We got a second opinion from Shaun and he fixed everything for $900. He seemed to really care about doing the right thing and he educated us along the way.

Maybe in another year. We will see in a few more months.

The cost was slightly lower than some other quotes I received. I thought they were only a transmission shop, so Id never been there until I needed a transmission. While driving our 31 foot Class C Winnibago motorhome on 90 West near Rochester NY, we experienced transmission issues that needed prompt attention. We googled transmission repair services and found AAMCO in East Rochester,NY. Upon arrival, they immediately diagnosed and started working on the problem which resulted in a complete transmission rebuild. They had the work completed the following afternoon. I had a Certified Buick dealer do $3800 worth of work to my SUV. The car still had the same issues. Was told it would be another $2000 and they could not gaurentee it would rectify the issue. Came to Aamco for a second opinion and $99.00 later the issue (and more) were resolved. 4000 miles later..Im back today for an oil change.

Stay away. They have a polite smooth talking employee to work with customers but the work done is garbage. We had our shop van trans rebuilt by them.It still slipped and we took it back under warranty. They claimed to have adjusted it but it was not improved. Now its under new management and the new customer service employee reached out to us. We explained our disappointment and he assured us he could take care and would take into consideration that we spent $2,200 with them for a rebuilt transmission. After leaving the van they never bothered to call us back. When we finally called them they want $495 to diagnose what they didnt do right initially. Crazy! Please go somewhere else and think twice about trusting them.

I really believe that this shop is doing very little when overhauling transmissions. My vehicle is still not right after an overhaul. Since it is hard to know what is really is done during an overhaul all you can judge it by is how it works after the repair. Next time I will know to go elsewhere. Expensive lesson.

Excellent friendly service and professional work!

From beginning to end I had a great experience. The new service manager was able to have my serpentine belt, oil, and wind shield wiper blades changed in no time on top of getting my vehicle inspected! Would highly recommend to everyone that wants honest work done while experiencing great customer service!!

Great shop for transmission repairs, there service Tech is the best around hands down.

This Aamco shop exceeds expectations.The transmission in our motor home failed. It sat at the chevy dealer in Victor for 6 weeks - nothing happened. Fed up with them we stopped by the shop in East Rochester to see if they could help. And DID THEY. Monday afternoon they have our motor home towed to the shop pulled and repaired the transmission. We picked up on Wednesday . Thursday we were off to Watkins Glenn - so sweet . Shaun provided awesome communications and even sent a pic of our vehicle up on the lift. If you need transmission service or for that matter any automotive service give them a call. And oh yes they have been East Rochester for approx 30 years

We had intermittent electrical issues with the transmission of an older model car. The problem has been fully resolved thanks to AAMCO of East Rochester. Shaun and his team provided us with outstanding professionalism and courteous service. I was very impressed with the experience of their senior level technicians. Ill continue to bring all of our family vehicles to this location since they offer full auto maintenance and repair services.

When my transmission failed and my usual auto shop conveyed that they did not do transmission work, I read some reviews on line and consequently called AAMCO in East Rochester. I had my car towed there and met the proprietor, who was most personable and helpful. In a very short time I was presented with three options and careful explanations of each. Being as well informed as I could be, I made my choice. My decision dictated that a transmission had to be ordered and shipped. When the shipping company fell short of their promised delivery date, the owner of this AAMCO shop was most apologetic and seemed to feel personally responsible. Even after the new transmission was installed and I was picking up the car, I was still the recipient of apologies for an issue that was well beyond the control of the proprietor. I remain impressed with his sense of responsibility. In the process of the transmission work, another unrelated issue was brought to my attention. When I had determined that the concern was indeed valid, I was again given options and explanations to guide my decision on how to proceed. I elected to have the work done, and it was completed quickly. I feel that the costs for the work received were clearly inline with other sources. I can state without hesitation that all interactions with the personnel of this facility were polite and professional. I will certainly not hesitate to use this shop in the future.

Jim and Rick were SO great and exceptional. They fixed what was needed to be fixed without taking advantage of me, and even taught me a few things in the process. It was the day before my written board exam (which I passed!) and I was stuck in Rochester (still needing to traveling to the exam and all the way to Buffalo) with a car that wouldnt accelerate. These guys took a look, were able to troubleshoot and get me out of there in a little over an hour. They were life savers! I highly recommend these guys to anyone in the area.

This location has great customer service. Of all the places I called this week they were only place that was friendly and told me just like it was. They werent rude about it and they described all of the issues that my car was having in great detail and they were patient about my questions. I have brought my car here in the past and I will definitely be bringing it here in the future.

I am a senior women and had been told by a dealership service center that my transmission needed a very expensive repair. I went to AAMCO in East Rochester seeking a comparative estimate. The very honest owner and mechanic told me that the transmission was fine and needed no repair. I am so grateful to them and highly recommend them to my friends, family, and anyone needing good, honest car service.
