Comfort Inn Glenmont - Albany South in Glenmont

Less than thrilled with this property. Not sure what happened, as we stayed here a few times in the past when other local hotels were fully booked and it was decent, but it s gone down hill .GREATLY. Not the nicest (or cleanest), but will do in a pinch for a quick overnight. When we checked in, we were given a smoking room (didn t ask or indicate we wanted this, didn t even know they had them) we only knew upon walking in when we were hit in the face by the horrible smell. We immediately asked for a room change (which the front desk person literally shrugged his shoulders and threw his hand up). The next morning, we were woken up at 8am (late night out before) by tapping on our door. It was the cleaning people wanting to come in to clean the room. I didn t even open the door - check out is at 11am! We went to breakfast (I then put the do not disturb on the door because I didn t want them entering the room if they tried to come back when we weren t in there). Then again at about 10:15am yet ANOTHER tap on the door which AGAIN was the cleaning people. I opened the door and firmly confirmed the checkout time is at 11am, which she said yes. I told her to STOP knocking on the door then (definitely more choice words than this). This is absolutely uncalled for. We will never stay at this hotel again.

They were charging me more than one tea from my card without authorization and they dont want to be responsible for those extra charges or return the money.

Very bad dirty service, they dont change sheets, they wash the bathrooms, nothing and they take your money from your card without your money

The side of the motel on I-87 is plagued with highway noise, the AC units in many rooms is loud. The hallways are poorly air conditioned. One comforter I found was stained with possibly grease and was evidently not bleached. The shower water pressure was low. The pipes were not properly fitted, leaving a gap in the shower between the wall and the tap. Poor maintenance is evident in loose furnishing parts such as armrests and handles. A few of the hangers in the in-room closet had sharp nails hanging out. Some lamps (where the outlets are) were also unplugged. The swimming pool shower is broken. Much of the shelving evidently had not been dusted for years. I saw three mini-fridges. The first didnt work: it did not get cold. The second was mouldy, which shouldnt happen in a freezing environment. The third had a broken door bracket. This is probably why I saw a fruit fly buzzing about. We needed to ask for more toilet paper and towels. The breakfast is flavourless, with waffles seem watered down, the yoghurt is fine because it is pre-packaged, the sausage and eggs desperately need salt. The coffee is barely worth the name. The Four Points by Sheraton is down the street and only a bit more expensive. It seemed better.

I absolutely do not recommend staying here! The rooms were nasty and dirty, I kept finding beer bottle caps in our room. The room smelt very bad and the carpets were disgusting and not cleaned very well. Then to top it off we had no hot water the last two days of our stay and I have two kids and I couldn t bathe them in the cold water. So disappointed in this stay. Not worth it!!

This hotel , motel is not good at all specially front desk , I called to check on my reservation, I was on the train I just wanted to make sure , I called called and called No answer , when I got there lady was on the phone with her friend or some one two other guys were there so 3 people did not answer my call!!! After I checked inn I was tired , I Odored food through Uber eats, I called few times front desk just to let them I am expecting Uber eats Oder , No answer again , when I came down , same three people doing nothing but did not answer my call!room does smell bad , it s far a way from everything! Not a good experience at all!waste of money !

Man this hotel smells so bad I can t even begin to describe the smell. And to the manager or Gm the smell that I reported was thrown under the rug by the bald headed gentleman who works nights. He said and I quote, that is above my pay grade. End quote. The hallway smelled like human fecal matter. And it was there when o checked out the next day. Not to mention the cleaning staff throwing away my pizza. Excuse me after I asked them about it they took it out the trash and attempted to give it back to me on which I declined. After they sat it down on their cart for themselves later. Told the front desk and they didn t care one bit

Absolutely terrible customer service. Arrived at the hotel having booked a block of rooms for a youth sporting event and they have given away the rooms claiming I did not send a rooming list. I showed them e-mails confirming the booking. They were unsympathetic, unhelpful, and blatantly rude. They finally sorted rooms for us and gave two of our chaperones the same room, despite one of the chaperones having booked her room independently. Continued issues with communication to resolve the overcharge of rooms. Do not go here if you want an ounce of respect.

Got in. Had a small issue that was easily and quickly fixed. The room was facing the road, which made for a noisy night hearing the traffic. The room was nice, but the bathroom.. Ive included pictures. When I got back home,,, I checked my Credit Card and found I was billed 2 times for the same night. When I called, the person on the phone was RUDE about it. I would definitely stay somewhere else.

Clean and decent inn for a reasonable price. Food and drinks: A delicious, plentiful, hot breakfast was served during the 2 days we were there. There was also cereal, fruits, bagels and muffins if you were not interested in the hot breakfast.

Rooms are in good condition always smelled musty and a bit of smoke they are under renovations when we went breakfast was okay compared to other comfort Inn breakfast. When we arrived the girl at the front desk wasnt too cheerful or pleasant just sign here put your card heres your keys

Nice stop after a long road trip. Beds were very comfortable and the shower was perfect, good pressure from the shower head. Gave it 4 stars because I was really looking forward to the pool and jacuzzi but the pool was cold and the jets weren t working in the jacuzzi.

We were travelling from Toronto to Boston and decided to take a break at Albany. The room and bathroom were clean, the bed and pillows comfortable. Nice having a restaurant attached as we were too tired to go out. Our waiter, Alex, was very funny and the homemade tortellini soup made by Syd was fantastic. Very nice breakfast included. Will definitely stay again!!

Disgusting rooms with bugs and cigarette smoke and burns on the sheets. Manager combative and screamed at me, owners unresponsive and uncaring. Im having to file a BBB complaint over the whole stay to get a refund. The Manager thought $35 out of over 300 would be acceptable....

Stayed at this hotel for a business trip. The hotel you could tell was undergoing some renovations and some things were still being worked on. The 2 queen room was nice, updated, clean, updated bathroom. There was a very small indoor hotel pool and hot tub that we tried out. Nothing fancy, just big enough for 4 people. I passed the laundry room, vending machines, business room and exercise room on my way to the pool. It had a decent hot breakfast every morning. The front desk clerk was helpful. The hotel wasnt fancy and smelled of cigarettes even though we were in the no smoking rooms. I would stay here again if in the area. There was plenty of parking at this hotel for large vehicles.

Our bed gave me a bit of a backache and the sheet had a little weird mark on it by the pillow which I covered with a towel as it was late and I was too tired to deal with a sheet change request. The room was fairly clean otherwise and didnt smell which is nice. The thermostat on the way only existed for aesthetics since it didnt turn on or light up at all. We could control the air/heat on the actual unit under the window though. Had a desk, mini fridge, chair with ottoman, closet, night stands, lamps, clock, mirrors, artwork and tv. The door was a bit tricky to get open since the card reader didnt like our card the first 7-8 times we put it in. The breakfast in the morning was good. Cheese omelets, sausage, waffle maker, bagels, toast options, muffins, yogurt, fruit, juice, tea, and coffee. Someone made a mess of one of the coffee makers in the hall, I think they forgot a cup because the drip tray was completely filled and had spilled across the counter as well. Easy to check in though and had lower rates than other places in the vicinity. It was also close to Five Guys, Sonic, Taco Bell and Panera Bread as well as some shopping places. Also close to the highway for easy commute. Rooms: Basic hotel rooms. King suite had a mini fridge, closet, TV, desk with chair, chair with ottoman, 2 nightstands, art work, mirrors, lamps, and a clock. Food and drinks: Offers free breakfast. Muffins, yogurt, juices, coffee, tea, waffle maker, cheese omelets, sausage patties, bagels, toast, fresh fruit and cereals. Also short distance from a few restaurants like Five Guys, Sonic, Panera Bread, and Taco Bell. The hotel also has multiple vending machines and an site restaurant that is open on certain days and times with live music it appeared.

None of the rooms have room darkening curtains that actually close( they are there...but they dont close! The track is 12 inches long on either side and thats it) , leaving the parking lot lights and sun to come beaming in for anyone who is actually trying to sleep. Our room had obvious signs of water damage that was not propeely fixed, and the bed left my girlfriend and I tired and sore.

I dont really recommend, dust and dirt could be found everywhere from the window sill, the bedsheets, the mini fridge, the bathroom, etc. Our card often wouldnt work for unlocking doors, be it our room or the pool. Which the hot tub was also closed down. They charge you a fee if you leave early, likely because they know youll want to leave once you see your room. Staff was patient and understanding at least. Good for a cheap room for one night, but no longer than that.

This review is not towards the actual Comfort Inn Glenmont. It is towards the Choice Hotels policies/procedures. I made a reservation and I knew it was non-refundable; however, I did not know that Radisson points could be used towards my reservation when I made it. I called the day before of our stay and asked if we could please use our points towards the reservation fee and I was told there is no refunds for cancellations or changes. I knew there wasnt a refund if I was to cancel, but why cant I use my points and not have to spend my own money towards this reservation. I did not know that Choice Hotels was even affiliated with Radisson or I would have used them when I booked the rooms. Needless to say, I am not a happy camper. So much for helping the customer!

The lady at the front desk was very rude and disrespectful to my wife and i, and kind of ruined our experience here. I gave her the wrong credit card and she threw it back at me and rolled her eyes when I gave her another card. This place is fine in a pinch but I wouldn t recommend staying here if there s other options.

Like your room nice and cool to sleep in?? This is NOT the hotel for you. Thermostats are on the wal with built-in motion detection. Dont move very 30 minutes, it turns off. Had the thermostat set at 64°. 45 minutes after setting it. It up to 68°. Stupid way of doing things!!!

We were traveling north for our vacation to Maine and made a stop at the comfort inn for a mid stop. Wait staff and rooms were so helpful friendly and clean! The breakfast was delicious, well stocked, clean and organized. Every single place has their own issues but the lobby bathrooms and the hot tub were out of order is my only complaint and those weren t necessarily why we were there. Fabulous location for us as well.

Do not stay here if you have young children!!! The curtains do not close so no privacy and the sun shines directly in. The whole first floor reeks of cigarettes/weed and overall did not seem clean or safe. We left and found somewhere else to stay.

I wouldnt recommend staying here. This hotel looks nice but the rooms are anything but. We had to switch rooms twice due to an overpowering musty/moldy smell in some of the rooms on the first floor. I believe it was room 107 or 109 and room 101. There were obvious signs of water damage in one of the rooms. I dont know how management ignores those things. Theres CLEARLY water damage and no amount of scent housekeeping sprays will cover it up. The staff was very helpful and the 3rd room we got on the 2nd floor was better. We were on the verge of canceling and finding another hotel in the area. Others in our group complained of similar overpowering musty smells in their rooms. Stay elsewhere

Our room smelt like mildew really bad, tried everything to get the smell out ended up sucking it up an staying in that room.... found out they double charged me which left me broke for the rest of our trip to the giants game on a good note the bed was comfortable

While having jury duty in Albany, I stayed here as it was suggested by the court. Im not one to leave reviews but in this casei feel I have to. When I first get there the lobby seems nice. As I proceed to the 2nd floor the entire corridor smells of pot. Im not against it but Im just glad I didnt have children. As I enter my room the was the smell of vanilla. They must have used a deodorant just before I got there because it wore off and the room reeked of cigarette some. Then the night time comes and I go to sleep. At 1:30am Im woke up by people constantly going back and forth, room to room. They were banging on their doors and then slamming then. They must have had some transient people staying there. This went on until 6am. When I mentioned it to the front desk they knew exactly what I was talking about yet dont do anything about it. So yourself a big favor and find a different hotel for the night.

PLEASE DONT STAY HERE! The hallways smell like cigarettes and anything else one might choose to smoke. As you walk down the corridors, the doors to the rooms were very dirty and the guests were loud. The hotel staff kept spraying airfreshner to mask the smells. The rooms smell like mildew and dirty carpet. The first room offered smelled so bad that I got an instant headache. I gave 1 star because the front desk changed my room. The second room smelled like dirty carpet and a faint smell of mildew. I could see there had to have been water damage because the wallpaper was warped all around the room. I could also see mold underneath the wallpaper. There were little black gnats in the bathroom and randomly around the room. There were shear curtains only, so there are no hopes of getting rest if you arent able to sleep with street lights glaring into the room or care about privacy. The positive: The location is great close to the thruway and quite a few food options to choose from surrounding the hotel, and 5 mins from downtown Albany.

Nothing is extraordinary, but everything is good. Strange for the price lol.... Definitely worth it. Convenient to Uber around.

Our hotel room was very nice we liked the shower head it had multiple settings and was perfect for all of us we all have a different water pressure preference. There was a microwave and fridge in the room. The beds were comfortable. Not a fan of carpet floors. Breakfast was amazing! They had strawberry and regular waffles with strawberry sauce and whipped topping, eggs, sausage,.... all kinds of choices example yogurt bread cereal... The front dest agent told me that laundry takes 20 mins to wash 40 dry and nope it took 3 hrs I couldve brought my clothes to a laundromat and spent less money and my clothes wouldve been done in at most an hr and a half! We had an issue with the ice machine... I reported it to the manager and he got maintenance on it. The pool was freezing and the hot tub wasnt hot ... the water was turned off. The front desk turned on the water and jets but the hot tub jets were very weak ... poor water pressure.

Cheep hotel that the halls smell of cigarettes and weed. The hotel is so close to the freeway that I had a hard time sleeping with how loud the road noise was all night.

The proximity to the highway makes it impossible to sleep. Based on the number of cars in the parking lot there must have been many other rooms we could have been put in. I called the front desk 4 times with no answer. Don t book here or stop here. Find somewhere else to stay. The check-in was at least pleasant but not worth the aggravation of not getting any sleep.

I was here on Business. I am bougie so there I like options , the hotel was clean as well as neat. I like the pool , spa , gym etc. The staff was really nice , I will return back here every time I am near here for sure . Note , I usually stay at Hampton Inn , you will get way less there , and pay way more ! Over this last year I have become a Comfort Inn loyal guest !

BEWARE DONT STAY HERE I have stayed at many hotels located near highways and never was able to hear the traffic but at this location that is all I heard all night change my room but it was still on the same side of the hotel because they said that was all that was available the second room had a smoke smell and stains on the carpet old bar of used soap in the shower makes you think my worst night ever no sleep and had hours of travel ahead of me I will definitely never return Spoke to the front desk in the morning wasnt helpful at all wish to speak to management wasnt available Maybe someone will reach out to me but Im highly doubtful TOTALLY DISAPPOINTED STAY AWAY

I feel awful having to write this because the front desk manager truly attempted to accommodate but this was WAY above him. 1st room given to us the door didn t shut all the way. We asked for a different room. 2nd room given to us just wasn t what we paid for so we again, asked for a room with the layout we booked. 3rd room? Awful. Mold on the headboard, dirty sheets, splatter on the walls, the bathroom was never cleaned, there was black mold in the vents and the stains on the sheets ran all the way to the mattress.

Me and my husband went there from New Jersey driving so many miles with the confirmation that we have a reserved room. When we came at 8 pm the person there who was very nasty telling us ITS SOLD OUT. First time to have a confirmation to a SOLD OUT HOTEL. They treated us a garbage there INHUMANE .so frustrating that there are people like that. ITS NOT ACCEPTABLE!

Nice room but the breakfast experience was horrible. Many tables still had trash on them, used napkins on the floor in several places, but the worst of it all was the extremely loud TV with commercials and a bit of morning show. This was my first time at a comfort inn, and probably my last.

It was quiet and nice because it was located in a quiet place. The parking lot was large and easy to park. The room was clean and nice. The breakfast was also good. However, the air conditioner was centralized and not adjustable, so it was a little cold.

The couple times I been there for work the kitchen staff Is what made the stay.....

Stayed here on a Friday and then the following Sunday night. Absolute silence at night and very comfortable beds. The pool and hot tub were amazing after a long drive. The breakfast consisted of waffles, muffins, eggs, sausage, cereal and other expected items. Price was fair and easy to get too. Outdoor grilling area is a plus, but it rained.

My partner and I stayed here while driving back to Boston area on a road trip. Easy and quick to get to, and not too far off our path. It was a place to stay, and for that we were thankful. Also, a decent breakfast buffet! cons: our comforter was wet and I went to the front desk to get a new one. There were stains on the bed and floor. And the lamps were moldy. The entire first floor smelled so strongly of cannabis and smoke. Prices were different than posted online, which wasnt that big of a deal, but in retrospect I wish we had gotten that lower price because of how dirty our room was.

Rating this based on the type of hotel it is. It wasn t perfect but they re trying really hard. Sheets and all were clean and not masked with some sort of fragrance which is a plus for me since I have allergies. There were plenty of towels and such in the room so I wasn t forced to go all the way back down to the lobby and beg for those essential items. Breakfast was above average. There were some stubs in the bathroom sink that are certainly not mine but I believe it was an oversight rather than an intentional shortcut based on the cleanliness of everything else.

Mostly OK but when you first move in yesterdays shampoo should not be left in showers and someones toothpaste should not be smeared on the counter. Also, the window facing the highway was missing a latch and the way it was secured made it gap pretty bad, making for a noisy experience. Bed was awesome. Service was better than most, restaurant on site was a fantastic bonus.

This was bad i stayed here for 2 nights and 3 days, the front desk assistant was rude, the hot tub was cold, the phone didn t work. the breakfast waffle machine was broken on my second day there. the treadmill in the gym was broken and made weird noises so did the other things. the lights in the bathroom keep on turning on and off. the employees where so disrespectful. there wasn t any towels at the pool when we asked for more he slammed them on the table. there wasn t any extra blankets or towels in my room.

Nice hotel. This has a surprise restaurant in it which was very very good. The staff were pleasant and the rooms were immaculate. The Only problem was undercooked bacon at the breakfast but they have a microwave there.

The whole place is outdated.....a sign of the times.... or me getting older....hmmmm..... the hotel shouldve been built up, instead of out, cause the CLC Exercise program was in full effect.... they place you at the very end of the hotel, furthest away from the desk.... its like 1/8th of a mile..... omfg

Rooms: Not too bad but most of the stains in corners like around the shower, sinks etc could be cleaned up. Nearby activities: Vehicles passing on highway wont let you have a good sleep. Safety: Safety is 100%. Walkability: Good. Food and drinks: Overall best. Good foods with great taste. Almost every meal you expect in a hotel. I literally ate every breakfast that I wanted, nothing is missing from what I wanted. Noteworthy details: Not bad for the price.

Place is OK, we were in town for a job as we are every year and we finished a day early. Even with notice they made us pay for the last night that we did not use. I find that a tough way to do business. Perhaps that says a lot for their financial situation needing to get every last dollar from each customer not caring if they come back or not. Fortunately there are platforms like this that allows me to warn other people about their particular business practice. STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! WE WILL!!!

Clean, delicious cookies in the lobby, refreshing cold lemon water, and delicious breakfast. Need to be inclusive of no pork eaters and have a choice or turkey bacon or turkey sausage as an option also. Restaurant and bar is closed on the weekends when you need the convenience. Dining room staff and front staff very friendly and welcoming. Great experience for the caucus convention. Nearby activities: Close to downtown!

Dirty, nasty duck tape in the bathroom

So I have had great experiences with this hotel, rooms are always clean, beds made everyday, and they are clean. HOWEVER. This man at the front desk is by far the most disgruntled worker I ve ever met. I appear to be bothering him everytime I check in. I spoke to Manager last year about him, and he said he would resolve it.. nope.. just checked in and same guy working was a A$$hole!!! If his one job is to be kind to your guests and he can t do it then something needs to be done. I really wanted to give this hotel 1 star because of this guy. If it wasn t for him I would give 5/5

Staff yelled at me started coming to my room at 10:30 for check out I couldn t talk to recently having a seizure and they just yelled they even requested paperwork from my service dog which is illegal and my sheets had pee stains on them instead of changing my room or my sheets they made me come down to get them .

Great hotel! The rooms are cozy, staff are friendly, nice breakfast options, and the hot tub was nice and hot. Also loved the 24/7 free coffee.

Door cards needed to be unlocked several times. Ice bucket was NEVER emptied from the last guest before us! Towels were still wet in bathroom from previous guest. When we came back from a day out yesterday, the beds were made, but the door was unlocked & still partially open! There was a family with a cpl of young boys that the boys were screaming & yelling. Bed was comfy with a nice amount of pillows. Convenient location to shopping & downtown Albany. Plenty of parking close to entrance. Nice grab n go breakfast.

Its pretty good place for the price I paid ,nice pool the spa was good , cant complain about this place. Like I said very cheap and very decent place.

Had an event, what ever promised, was not delivered. Trusted word of the month from the manager, but at last minute ended up paying more. Comfort Inn mangmet needs to investigate.

When you go inside one Id the rooms, the beds are comfy, rooms are clean, and the people in the front desk were nice, but in our room we found a tick in one of the couch pillows and the people next door were noisy and still talking stuff all night which was annoying I wish I could give this place 5 stars, but the hotel needs a bit of attention with the people and cleanliness of the rooms.

The Comfort Inn was clean. We enjoyed the hot tube after a long drive.

Coffee and breakfast horrible. People smoking pot and cigarettes in the building. Couldn t find staff anywhere. Told them we wanted to pay cash and they charged our card anyway! Service sub-par. Beds and pillows uncomfortable.

Went to an event. Hope the rooms are better than the event space. Honestly, I have no knowledge of the sleeping rooms but would not recommend for an event.

Overall, I had a great experience here. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. I could hear the highway noise though from room 121. Compared to some of the other hotels I ve stayed at recently, they had a pretty good continental breakfast. They had options like Jimmy Dean s breakfast sandwiches, bananas, oranges, 3 types of cereal, yogurt, milk, juice, coffee, and more.

Theres trash in the hallway from when we checked in and it was still there when we checked out the following day Outlet in our room was loose pull out bed was very uncomfortable

Price was great, location great, service horrible. When i went to check in Vijay had no clue what to do. Kept telling me to use my CC when i told him i already pre-paid. Accidentally booked a handicap room and told him i wanted it changed because i was not handicapped. He looked completely lost. Finally when i got my card to the room i drove down the snow covered lot, not even touched by a plow, to the door near our room. Sidewalk not even shoveled when we entered the hotel it reeked of marijuana just had a very sketchy feel and not safe at all. Room was facing the Thruway which wasnt a problem but the light shining in our room was because you couldnt close the shades. A/C, heater unit sounded like an airplane taking off, so it was fun trying to sleep through that. Room was clean, at least I hope it was. Will definitely not be staying at this hotel again. Ill look for another so i can get my rewards points.

Very accommodating, GM, Ashish Tari very helpful, pleasant, nice and friendly, I highly recommend others to stay there. Ashish very good at what he does, hes also very kind and considerate. I hope that when my Sister in Christ is done with her treatments that maybe some day we will be able to visit for a vacation or just to get away, only thing I wish they would allow pets.

Very nice and clean hotel. The beds were comfortable and the shower was great. There was an ice machine that we could get ice with they were cups in the room that made it convenient. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. The only thing I wish is that the girl in the breakfast area this morning would ve had a mask on

Some one stole my spare tire out of the back of my truck. I was only there doing a setup for a wedding.

Front desk and cleaning staff was friendly and helpful, even getting my umbrella back to me after I had left it by accident. Room was comfortable, but bathroom was tiny and a little cramped.

I stayed here in February 2020 and there was a mouse running around my room. When I contacted the front desk, they did not seem very bothered by it. I was told there were no other rooms available and that it was essentially my fault for having food in my room. I wasn t able to speak to a manager when I saw the mouse or when I checked out, and corporate has been very unresponsive as well since the incident. I would not recommend this hotel or any Choice Hotel properties.
