Had an emergency [ to me it was a emergency] a transmission job done with disturbing results, emergency brakes were disabled, had to bring it back the next morning, and the upsetting part about it , the cost and something wasn't done right to provide me satisfaction of service done to my vehicle that I have to put on the road. Smfh
My daughter purchased her first used car 1 month ago. We did get an extended warranty which was worth it because her transmission went 2 weeks after. I went to Dakar because my local mechanic that does not replace transmissions recommended these guys. I took the car to them and met with Wilson. From there he made the process simple dealing directly with the warranty company and had a brand new transmission replaced within 1 week. These guys are masters with transmissions!
Came here for an oil change and some service parts checked. They were thorough and totally pet-friendly. My doggo was a good sport waiting with me. They explained a few other problems they found and advised me on when they recommend I can return but safe enough to drive until then. Compared to other places they didn’t make me feel being taken advantage on pricing. Totally fair since I also got quotes in other places. Overall recommend this place and will definitely return.
Alvaro was extremely helpful and honest when diagnosing the problem with my 2005 keep grand Cherokee. He is extremely knowledgeable on transmissions and gave me a thorough diagnosis as well as a solution I could try before spending too Much money. High recommend!!
Dakar knows his stuff! I had a great experience there! After being sent by a mechanic re: my Ford transmission problem, Dakar addressed me right away & took the time to run a test on my transmission. When it passed the test, he said it was a price-y computer problem. He could've left me w/this bad news & a big repair bill but he was honest & KNOWLEDGEABLE & told me he'd seen this before w/other same make/year cars & I should call Ford. This wasn't a known recall by Ford but I was able to get them to do the repair at $0 cost to me under some unknown extended customer satisfaction warranty had no knowledge about! THANK YOU Dakar for your decency and expertise! I highly recommend Dakar Transmissions.
While not a customer yet, I am checking out reviews on Google and Yelp 1st. Dakar transmission shop seems to have a owner who cares and responds to reviews. Which is a very good sign. I will update my review as I will go there to check out pricing and service. Well I went to Dakar and was totally impressed with the service!! I am going only here !!!
I had my transmission serviced here after getting the run around from the dealer and other transmission "specialists" with well known names. None of the places I went to before Dakar did a thorough diagnostic of what was the issue with my car. Alvaro checked the codes, but he also did a thorough under-hood check to determine if I indeed needed a "new" transmission (unfortunately I did). I was pleased with his honesty & professionalism. Not once did I feel led on or that he was scamming. I fully recommend Dakar to anyone that needs transmission work.
Great customer service. Brought my car because transmission was shot. I was give a reasonable price and I had the job done. The mechanics there are all professional. I was kept inform of the work. Once the job was done I was to impressed with the work that I had them work on some other issues I had with my car. From now on this is my place to go when I need some real work done on my car. Everyone there is very honest and very professional. Thank you guys for a job well done on my car. It's been about a month now and my car is running great!!!!!

Alvaros team are highly experienced professionals. They are honest and oriented to every detail. I use this service frequently and prefer them over Jaguar service (i bring there two Jaguars that I have).

If you re having any transmission related issues, Id recommend talking to Alvaro at Dakar Transmission before going anywhere else. I made the mistake of going to the Volkswagen dealership to find out why my car was stuck in gear (limp mode). Of course they wanted me to pay $6,700 for a whole new transmission. A friend then referred me to Dakar Transmission, where Alvaro and his guys narrowed down my problem to a wiring issue caused by another shops negligence and fixed it for a great price! Cant thank these guys enough

The mechanics there work rapidly. The owner has been doing his job for a long time, and thus has attained mastery. I would recommend the shop to anybody, as they are serious, professional, and get the job done.

I got a problem on my car, i got a estimate of $2000 , mechanic told me was transmission. I decided to get a second estimate and took my car to Dakar, for my surprise, the transmission was ok, the problem was the tires , anyway, it was a very honest attitude..I recommend this place .

Never go here. They cheat you and rip you off. Went for an oil change a few months ago only to find they they never actually changed the oil. Left my brand new car with them and went to McDonald s next door and when I came back they said my car was ready. I just went for another oil change today at a different auto shop and found my original Honda branded oil filter still on the car. My mechanic said the oil was never changed the last time based on how filthy it is and the original factory oil filter still being on the car. This place is run by scammers. All they did was add a little oil to the top of the engine and they even did that poorly as I found it spilled all over the top of the engine. The oil was never changed at all. Don t trust this place. It s trash.

My first time here for a second opinion on my transmission problem. He drove my JEEP 2003 Liberty Unlimited. Ran it through all the gears with me in it, explaining everything along the way. He feels I dont need a new transmission, its a differential matter. Sold this man knows what hes doing. Going back to get it fixed.
This place is great. The service was very efficient. Was done quickly. My car was very squeaky when turning the wheel it was bad. But after fixing it. The squeaking is very minimal. Because it will not entirely go away because to fix it is too expensive but it is a big improvement. I would tell anyone to go to this repair shop in queens New York.
