Sunnyside Auto Repair, General Auto Repair, Auto Body Shop in Long Island City

Brought my 2004 Toyota Camry in for an inspection and an oil change. I called them later in the evening after not hearing from them, and they told me that my car failed the inspection but didnt tell me why, and said theyd call me back within the hour with a quote on repairs needed to pass. Not only did they not call me back, I had to call twice the next day to get anyone who could finally send me the quote, which took 2 hours of phone calls. The quote was then outrageously high, so I called back asking for more info on what the issues were that needed repair. I immediately got a defensive response, only info was these parts are worn out bro. I went in, picked up my car, and paid for the oil change only. After picking up my car, the change oil light continued to flash at me, which was odd. I took my car to a more trusted garage out where my folks live, and not only were they bewildered at where these needed repairs came from (quoted me $1k less than Sunnyside), but they checked my oil and said that it hadnt been changed at all! I told them Id thought as much and got an oil change there. When I called them today asking for a refund on the oil change I paid them for that never occurred, according to a more trusted mechanic, the same guy as before became extremely defensive again, continually told me I was lying, and refused the refund. Long story short, do NOT take your car here. Save yourself the time, money, and stress for the scammy service, the bad repairs that may or may not even occur, and the unprofessionalism.

This car shop is the most ugly restaurant I have ever seen, why do you say so? Because this shop forcibly charged me an extra 120 dollars. The manager of this car repair shop, tony, asked us to wait for 20 minutes and 20 minutes, but the result was that my cruise control was not installed properly, and he told me that it was the manual installation fee. He also explained to me that they have a quotation, may I ask when they will give me a quotation and directly install me and forcibly charge me

I can t recommend Shamil and his team enough! They were fantastic in helping me identify and address my car s issues. I called in on Labor Day and they got back to me right away, despite it being a holiday. Shamil and his team were very responsive (text and phone) and informative. It turns out that I had a rusted suspension that needed replacing, including the front and rear strut and shock assembly, as well as the steering knuckle. After doing some shopping around, I came to the conclusion they had the best pricing, especially compared to other large automotive chains. Shamil and his crew are fast, efficient, and professional, ensuring the work was done promptly and with great attention to detail. Shamil kept me updated every step of the way, especially when they encountered unexpected issues due to the extensive rust on my car. Finding a mechanic in a new city is a roulette game. Shamil and his crew treated me very well, they were responsive and honest, and their prices were fair and transparent. When my check engine light came on right after major engine work, it turned out to be unrelated to the work they had done, but they cleaned out my catalytic converter for no charge anyway. Based on my experience with them, I would recommend.

I do not recommend visiting this place at all, in terms of assistance they take too much time to solve your problems, they leave you waiting and prefer to serve other clients than finishing your work. The price they give you is blatant theft. DONT ALLOW THEM TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU.

This is my favorite place to come for car repairs, tried 10 + different shops, everyone is trying to take advantage but not this place. You can drop off your car, let them know what you need, and they will get back to you once is ready! Fair prices, Very good service, honest workers!

These guys are great ask for Shamil They fixed my car a few times adding extra parts for the same labor cost and going out of their way to resolve issues, I go back anytime I need work done!

Perfect!!! On the way, the engine stalled, the car shook and there was no traction. I thought thats it, weve arrived. Its Sunday and usually everything is closed. I found this workshop on the Internet, it said that it was open, I took a chance and went to them 2 miles away. I barely made it. And lo and behold, the workshop is open. And there is a wonderful master, smiling, and says come in. And the owner of the service is a very positive and pleasant young man, they immediately determined what the problem was, and after 30 minutes they brought the ignition coil and spark plugs. They replaced it and accepted payment by card. Everything is clear, fast and professional. The car is happy too! I definitely recommend it, I ll come here if I have any problems with my car. P.S. There is a relaxation room, a large TV with YouTube. Thank you!

I brought my car here yesterday to replace my Ball Joints. I dropped it off at 9:30AM and they didn t finish until 3:00PM. When I picked up my car, as soon as I got in I noticed the engine thermostat on the speedometer was in the red (Hot). There s no way this is possible unless the engine was running. When you start a vehicle it is always in the blue (Cool) until you warm up the engine. Immediately I went back and asked Shon why is my engine overheating? I did not go there for engine work and my hood should ve never been open. He popped the hood and tried to tell me that I have a coolant leak. I check my car every morning before I drive, this includes popping the hood. I drove my car prior to dropping it off with no issues. When he popped my hood, he shows me a gash in my coolant reservoir. This was done intentionally to my car in an attempt to make more money to fix it. And he had the nerve to tell me to my face they didn t do anything as if I m stupid. He doesn t know who I am so now this shop is being investigated, surveillance and looked into for everything including fraud by different agencies. Do not bring your car here, read the bad reviews. They are doing unethical, shady, swindler type practices. Don t trust any of these good reviews, I believe they are being done by the shop. If you experienced the same situation call 311 or you can report it to the FBI.

I changed the control lever arms and shocks of the front side. They worked good also with a reasonable price.

I had an excellent experience with Shon/Shawn (?) and my VW Passat. Frankly, when I brought it in for repair, I was worried they were going to call me back with an its going to cost more request because changing the oil pan in a older Passat is not straightforward. They did not and stuck to the original very reasonable cost estimate. I also did not tell them about other repairs I thought I needed although I asked them to check the brakes. They suggested I replace my axle which was absolutely correct. That cost was 1/2 of what I expected for NYC. I forgot to ask if it was a used part (Im not saying it was), but, for that, I dont really care. I guess the best compliment I could make is that they earned my trust. In NYC, that beats the competition alone.

Got an insane quote from the Nissan Dealership to replace a transmission so I searched for somewhere who could do it for less and had some good reviews and thats exactly what Sunnyside turned out to be for me. They were extremely responsive and communicated everything to me as they did it. They got me a brand new transmission from Nissan, for nearly half the price of the Nissan quote, and they did it quickly! Definitely will be returning here for any futures issues!

I talked with Shon on the phone and they helped me to tow my car to their shop. If you need that kind of service, they can help as well! Everybody in the shop was very friendly but beyond everything they are very honest people! They will not try to rip you off with extras and their prices are very economical. My car fixed in a short time and is working well. They even followed up with me after the service! What an excellent customer experience. It is really hard to find a honest business nowadays. Beware don t come here !!!!! I went there for a P0171 code and this man lied and said it was the throttle body , on my way back home on the highway my car started to say reduced engine and started going slow on a 60 mile highway ! The car was only letting me go 30mile had my 3 year old daughter in the back sit this was so scary I thought I was going to loose my life !!! , I never had that problem , I put 2 and 2 together they did something to the throttle body so I can have to come back and pay, I live in the Bronx why would I go to queens if my car saying reduced engine why would I ever risk my life to get on a highway when I could ve went somewhere in the Bronx , these ppl are frauds and liers they will brake something in your car so you can pay the money to get it fixeddd !!!!! DONT GO HERE ! By the way I had to PAY A TOW TRUCK 300 to tow my car back to queens ! I went to a different mechanic and he said he don t know why would he change a throttle body for that code !!!!! He need to get reported , VERY OVER PRICED theftssss !!!!

My experience with this repair shop and Shon specifically was great, I got 2010 Prius Hybrid, had so many issues with the car, was trying to fix it and save some money but anywhere I went it was more than $2500. I had all my suspension shaking, my brakes was failing on me, called to the shop, they asked me to come down for a check up. Came in 2 hours, they checked my car in 30 minutes, estimated for $1500 all together. And the most important thing, car was fixed in 4 hours. 2 guys was working on my car, like Formula 1)) got my car back, now car drives like new, no shaking, brakes works perfectly! I have a 20 year old BMW which had a couple rust bubbles on the exterior. After bringing the car in and having a chat with the guys there; we discussed how theyd be able to repair those spots and make it look brand new. I dropped off the car and two days later it was ready, looking brand new! Seriously, I cant even tell that any work has ever been done to it, it looks like it just rolled off the assembly line. Great work from all of them, happy to bring my car back here any time for any other cosmetic needs that I have.

Came by on a Sunday at 1pm with an emergency issue - front left rattling / shaking. BMW dealership in Manhattan screwed up and didn t tighten down everything on my recent service. My son recently blew a hole in the engine of his 2015 Honda Civic. I was referred to Sunnyside Auto Repair by the tow truck driver. Right away I spoke to Sean who was friendly, knowledgeable and reassuring that he could find a great low mileage replacement engine and his price quote for the completed work was a astoundingly great price ! Furthermore to much of my surprise, my car arrived to Sunnyside Auto Tues morning and by Friday the engine was replaced and ready to go. I drove my sons Honda civic from L.I.C Queens upstate to Wappingers Falls NY,which is quite a road test drive and she ran like a brand new car ! Quiet and smooth ! Couldn t be happier with the service at Sunnyside auto repair. I needed a replacement tail light after my mine had completely cracked after being hit. They had to order a replacement from the dealer which they got in less than 24 hours and when I went back to have it replaced it took about 5 minutes. All the staff especially Shon were professional and friendly and the service was quick and efficient. Absolutely would recommend!

Great service and amazing community based attitude from Shon and Shamil. They took care of replacing engine on my 2015 Honda Odyssey, couldn t have asked for a better experience. A friend recommended this place for repairing my leased BMW after an accident. It was conveniently close to an Enterprise branch, which my insurance covers for rentals in case of accidents. The shop was clean, pleasant, and the staff were polite. They took in my car and began repairs almost immediately. I placed a single call to the shop a couple of days later to check on the status, given the need for replacing the left headlight, front bumper, and left fender, along with painting. To my surprise, within only four business days, I received a call from them letting me know that the car was ready for pickup, and it had even been given an exterior wash. I was thoroughly satisfied with their service.

Shamil and his team were excellent and kind hearted! I was stuck on vacation due to car trouble and they not only ensured we had a safe place to wait with our belongings but they were beyond generous with the price and time it took to fix the vehicle. My car was fixed so quickly so I didnt have to stay another night stranded in Queens. I spent almost 24 hours stuck out of town due to mistakes AAA made and Sunnyside Auto made sure we got home safely and as quickly as we could after being delayed by AAA . I highly recommend this business especially as a woman traveling alone with kids. They will do everything they can to look out for you!

I took my 2009 Subaru Outback here for a repair after a Subaru dealership service center in Queens misdiagnosed the problem and proposed an $800 repair for an apparently nonexistent issue. After getting slapped with a $200 diagnostics fee, I picked up my car and brought it to Sunnyside Auto Repair. Sunnysides mechanic quickly diagnosed the real problem and fixed it for $190 (including the cost of an original Subaru part). My car is working fine now. Definitely going back.

Great experience every time I come to service my vehicle! I used to go to the dealer and waited for an oil change 3-4 hours. At Sunnyside Auto Repair it takes for me around 20-30 minutes not more than that! I can guarantee you that this shop will take care of all your needs. Recommend!!

oh man, im looking for an auto electrician around my area. my car wont start eventhough i changed the starter, got a new battery, and new alternator. still wont start! i towed my car yesterday here, and today its fixed! thanks to Subir and Shawn.

Found Sunnyside after reading the great reviews (and the terrible reviews of the place the Hyundai dealer suggested). Got my bumper fixed up quick (a couple days for parts and a day for the repair) and like new. Shon was easy to communicate with and made the whole process easy and stress free.

Took my 2014 Subaru WRX for an oil change and brakes on a Sunday. All in from driving in to leaving was about an hour for new rotors, pad, and oil change. Good communication. Appears to be a nice, clean shop and the people there were nice. Highly recommend and will be back! Pricing was reasonable.

Hi found this place in a Google search and it was a very good choice. I called and they said that they could do the mechanical work on a weekend, but the body work would have to wait until a weekday. I appreciate the communication and clarity, there was no upselling or anything else that would make me feel suspicious. I went there and they took my car right away for a tune up, my daughter and I sat in the waiting room while they did the work and it was very affordable. The experience was very positive and the car runs nicely. I recommend Sunnyside Auto Repair!

I was visiting my interior design furniture workroom in Queens when my power steering started to fail. Luckily, I found Sunnyside Auto repair. Shon and his team not only fixed the leaking power steering line, he saw my rack and pinion also needed replacing. They may have saved my life, I could have had a bad wreck without fixing these issue. My two dogs Prissy and Honey where with me, so Shon fixed my car in about three hours.
