We were searching everywhere for a sled for the sled day. All other stores were sold out. When we called they were friendly and in person they were friendly and helpful.

Went in with a plumbing issue and very little knowledge of how to fix and/or install what I needed. I needed pex materials and never used pex before. These guys took their time to show me exactly what I needed to do to get my water running again. I would definitely recommend this place over a big box store if possible. Great service guys. I generally have positive experiences at Ace Hardware in Malta, thanks to the helpful and patient staff who have supported my DIY learning journey. Regrettably, my recent visit was marred by an encounter with Tom at the 'Helpful Hub,' which compels me to write this review. Tom was dismissive, rude, and made me feel incompetent, a stark contrast to the treatment I've come to expect here. I came prepared with research and a clear understanding of what I needed, albeit without the actual hardware piece. His response to my query was "I can’t help if you don’t have it," followed by an awkward pause and then he turned his back on me, all delivered in a condescending tone. Understanding that having the piece would have been ideal, a simple suggestion to bring it next time would have sufficed—no need for rudeness or making customers feel undervalued. While I don’t doubt (but wouldn’t know) that Tom has the knowledge to work in the “Helpful Hub,” perhaps he should consider a role in the stock room until he can hone the social skills required for effective customer service. Good customer interaction requires not just a knowledge base, but also the ability to engage positively with people. On a positive note, the rest of the staff, especially a kind gentleman at the checkout who is a retired exterminator, consistently make me feel supported and respected. He deserves five stars for his service. To anyone in customer service, remember, many of your customers are trying their best and learning new skills. A little kindness and understanding go a long way, especially since you never know what kind of day someone is having. I expect to be treated as a competent adult, nothing more, nothing less.
Great staff here! Knowledgeable and friendly. Good selection too. There's a free popcorn machine, who doesn't love that? 😋

Went here to find a Honda vehicule remote battery. Found it which save me time and saved me $$ that Honda Dealer up the road was charging for it!
website often says items are in stock at this store . THEY ARE NEVER IN STOCK! THEY HAVE NOTHING IN THIS STORE . SAD EXSCUSE FOR A HARDWARE STORE. DEMOLISH AND PUT IN A DOLLAR GENERAL

Ive come in here many times over the years and its been great, however, this one time was enough for one star. I had come into the store about 25 minutes to closing to get hand cleaner, which I already felt bad for, I couldn t get out of work early. The guy sitting between the aisles asked if I needed help, I told him what I was looking for and he directed me to the right aisle, which was great. When I got there, I remembered some other things i needed that were in that same aisle, so I was looking and within not even five minutes of browsing the same guy came up asking me if I needed help, seeming frustrated that I was even there, I asked him about the exact location of the hand cleaner in the aisle while I was looking at tools, he instantly was just irritated and practically laughed in my face for not seeing it was right next to me like alright sir I was looking at something else and YOU asked?! im sorry? The people up front were very nice and professional but I was already irritated by the interaction

When I walked and I was greeted by three very knowledgeable gentlemen very pleasant, asked what I was looking for called an employee from that department, I told him what I needed he took me right the two areas to purchase exactly what I needed. Had a nice conversation with the gentleman in the front. Its nice going to a store where someone takes you to where the items are in just doesnt point, like the big box stores. I will be returning for the rest of the items I need for my projects.

Had a problem with dishwasher bottom rack rollers that are held in place with plastic pins. Over time the roller sockets and pins due to wear no longer worked well. Several pins simply started falling out when sliding rack in or out. Looked for a solution at Malta Ace Hardware. Was helped by Partick, Sean and Tom. The first 2 had great ideas, but werent able to find the perfect solution. Tom was asked to help. In a matter of minutes he found stainless steel male/female screw pins of perfect fit. The wheels will probably outlast the life of the dishwasher. Toms a genius!

The staff here are always very helpful. They have a great selection of plumbing parts, to fishing gear. If you need nuts and bolts (Hardware) they have just about everything you need.

They have a ton of supplies for projects big and small, and it is a convient drive in Malta. I have never gone here and wasnt able to find something I needed. The only draw back is that since it is the only hardware store in town, you tend to wait in line for a little while.

Nice to have this store nearby. Much easier than the large big box hardware stores. Prices are a little higher, but staff is very friendly and they are local.

I know nothing about chainsaws. Had to be a Stihl for my nephews bday and no one had the model in stock but Allerdice had them all. Add one extremely knowledgeable salesperson and I walked out with exactly the saw that my nephew had his eye on. Priced right too!

This store has friendly, knowledgeable, and courteous employees. Whenever I have an issue with something I need to help improve my home, they are always there to help. They are patient with me and listen. The store is always clean & neat. It is a great place to shop for the home.

This is a great, large hardware store with a hometown feel. Service was friendly and we were able to get everything on a very diverse list without problem. A very good experience.

Live nearby. Visit store often. Great staff...hugely helpful and have most everything Ive needed. Recently, mower died. Asked them who to talk to about repair. They gave me the contact info and will help me load mower in car!! Hows that for great customer service?
Had a problem with attaching a portable grill to a propane tank. Required a step down in fitting sizes. These guys helped me out... Took a bit of time because of the fitting sizes required, but they persevered! Other people would have walked away. Theyre the best!

The staff is not friendly - prices are 20% more than their competition. Either the owner or General Mgr (large gray haired man) is condescending and doesn t appear to enjoy providing information or answering questions

Some store employees are nice and some employees at there ( other stores ) are miserable like they have to be there to help you and show attitudes ! Excellent customer service...
Recently bought a Stihl chainsaw from Allerdice. Big Tom helped me figure out which one I needed and gave me a thorough tutorial on using it. This store has a really wide range of products and great service. Im finished with Lowes and Home Depot where Ive had to wander around trying to find one of their unenthusiastic associates for help. Allerdice Ace is the place!
This ACE HARDWARE store is huge! They have all the CDC GUIDELINES in place and enforcement is top of the list behind customer safety. The store is immaculate, clean and the employees are very helpful. I will go out if my way to shop here as its the best one around here. BRAVO to them!!-

Helpful hardware folks
Helpful, knowledgeable, friendly, everything you expect a hometown hardware store to be. Like: the knowledge, they carry the basics you need. Dislike: the 3rd rate brands of light bulbs and other items, their highest retail pricing policy. Seems not much is on sale, but theyre hoping that people will pay full price to avoid a big box store, and theyre probably right!

A great stop from the Capital District going North and West to Lake Placid. There are no food vendors. But there are ample, clean rest rooms with child changing, vending machines, and free maps and brochures. Outside, there are picnic facilities and a fog walk area.
The staff are very attentive & helpful. The store is conveniently located, saves me time & money by not having to drive up to Lowes or Home Depot.
