After coming home on a Friday from vacation our hot water tank was not working We called John at Mr.Rooter in Saratoga and was quite surprised they offered same day service.When he arrived he detected a gas smell and I had a headache and sore throat.He promptly shut off our gas line and advised us to air the house out.He said he would be back Monday with his crew and if scheduling didnt permit he would do it himself.True to his word he showed up with a helper and stated he wasnt leaving untill we had hot water and heat.He worked untill 7pm, and I had both as promised.It really is hard to find a company that is honest, fair in price and true to there word.I highly recommend John Rappleyea and his crew.I know I will be forever grateful.

John, Chris, and Josh were great to work with during the replacement of my sewer line. After months of issues, several cameras, and many attempts to fix my sewer line Mr. Rooter was able to fix my problem and was extremely flexible during the planning process and were able to work down from the original estimates given. Initially we thought the sewer line was disconnected at the main under the public road and sidewalk but after digging into the yard to camera from inside the sewer line we learned it was a 10ft belly in the line ending before the sidewalk and road that was causing issues with drainage. This greatly reduced the amount of work needed and the distance of pipe that needed to be replaced (thankfully). John, Chris, and Josh were able to finish the job of digging a 30ft trench and replacing 20ft of my sewer line in two days which was extremely quick compared to what I was hoping for! They helped to reconnect a pipe that came apart in the basement and installed a new toilet in the house as well. I would highly recommend reaching out with any plumbing issues you may have and I know I will in the future.

My gravity feed drain was clogged and my basement was ready to flood. The technicians came to my home within an hour of my call and provided an immediate quote. They were able to clear the clog right away. They were very polite and knowledgeable. Very pleased with the work.

We had a main sewer line collapse underground, Mr.Rooter wasted no time and scheduled everything needed to make repairs on such a large project. His staff was professional, respectful and kept us informed throughout the whole process. This is a family owned business and couldn t recommend them enough!

Our main waterline had a large leak coming into our house and the main shutoff did not work. This was a huge job including a lot of hand digging and excavation to get to the leak. Josh and his team, including his boss were out here right away to fix it for us. They were very thorough and worked very hard. They cleaned up any messes they made and even replanted grass seed in the areas they had to dig up. I highly recommend Mr Rooter and will definitely be using them again in the future for any work I need done.

Updated: As you can see there is still zero accountability on their end based on their response. Id like to know what specific threats I was saying? As you can see, my review VS their response doesnt even make sense. I did not have anyones personal cell phone and a recorded line would clear all this up. Karen transferred me over to him. There was no personal cell phone that I called intentionally. Im not sure how I was being overly demanding or threatening when I simply called stating that I wanted my water shut off as I had asked and expected. Stop calling my father and complaining about my words. Accept accountability for your blatant mishandle and move on. Be warned- this is how they want to treat disabled single mothers. REVIEW STARTS HERE: So last month, I had sought out the services of this company to fix a massive leak coming from underneath my bathroom in my trailer. They came and everything seemed fine until I looked at this man in the eye and asked multiple times if he had turned off the water supply to my house, so there would be no further damage until they came back to fix it the next day. Chris told me yes. Yes, he did shut off the water to the trailer. So I trusted his word. Left shortly after they did to an appointment and didnt get back until roughly 6pm. When I came home, I heard the sound of water continuing to gush from underneath the house at the source of the leak. I ran inside and double checked and had water coming from the faucet. I promptly called them back and Chris gave me mild attitude and pretended to act confused about what I was saying. He said something about how he had just gotten home and basically didnt want to go back over here and shut off my water like he was supposed to. Im a disabled single mom with three herniation in my lower vertebrae and nerve damage associated with the condition. I had no physical way to crawl underneath my trailer and shut off the water pressure. Chris threw me over to (go figure) Karen who also continued to act like I was speaking some alien language. I felt like they were treating me like I was a less intelligent person, when all I needed was some accountability and for Chris to come back or someone to come back and shut my water off so my entire floor wasnt leaking with further water damage. Then, they refused service claiming I posted a negative review. Well, HERE is your actual and very much deserved negative review. I will never feel comfortable letting this company near my property. Typical that its a woman named Karen and a guy refusing to take accountability for their mess-ups. It wasnt and never should have been a huge deal. But if they want to get bent out of shape regarding a negative review HERE IT IS! The story from my side. Go with a better company. You might pay double but at least they wont professionally gaslight you and refuse to take accountability when something gets screwed up. Merry Christmas

They told me a $430 repair would fix the problem (no hot water kitchen faucet) but it didn t fix it. Then wanted about $370 to try another possible solution. I declined and fixed it myself with a $20 cartridge. They said I d get emailed a receipt but never did. I reminded them and they ignored me. Felt like they just wanted to try possibility after possibility for continued billing with no sincere effort to find the easy inexpensive fix that was needed.

Mr. Rooter has helped us on multiple occasions now. This time we had an issue occur on a Sunday and service was immediately set up for Monday. They got the parts they needed promptly and had the repair finished the next day. Their customer service is so kind and pleasant and the service workers are very thorough. Cant say enough good things about them!

Completely ripped us off. I should have known better, but I spent $600 on a water test. We ve since had 2 other opinions and guess what water tests were free. Our hot water tank wasn t leaking before they came leaking when they left. They told us our expansion tank was blown it s totally fine. Please don t call them, they just want your money. We called Roland J Down and they did right by us. Update in response to their review reply. That s correct, you did work on the hot water tank. We paid $1200 for the total project. $600 for a water test that has now been offered for free by multiple companies including Roland J Down. I asked what was different about your water test than any offered for free and you lied. I have the water test results. They are from FR Webb, exactly where we could have brought it ourselves which is why I asked point blank before agreeing what the charge included. We texted you an emergency text on the weekend because you left our hot water tank leaking and yes of course my husband was trying to fix it while it was leaking into the rest of our basement. You knew it was leaking because you put a Tupperware under it and didn t say anything to us. You also told us our expansion tank was busted and that we needed a new one. That has since been tested right in front of us and it s perfectly fine. Your review response should have been an apology for the rip off of the water test and an offer to refund the $600.

If I could give them more than a 5, I would. We had a well system for our irrigation system that stopped working last fall. We tried to find someone who could help us determine what was wrong and couldnt find the right expert last fall to tell us for sure. A well company would have charged us $5k to dig up the well and replace the pump but couldnt tell us for sure that the pump didnt work or that that would fix all of our problems. Another expert just didnt know and suggested we give up on the well system and re-pipe the house so our outside water comes from the public utility. So, we shut it down for the winter and decided to give it a try in the spring. I thought maybe a plumber could help and researched plumbers. I had a hard time finding a plumber that included well systems on their service list. But I found Mr. Rooter of Saratoga and bookmarked them for a spring call. They were just here today and took the time to figure it out and it is now fixed. They also charged a very reasonable amount for their time. And we didnt need to dig up the pump. That was not the problem at all. I cant express enough what a relief we are feeling. We will definitely be calling them in the future. They are professional, nice to work with, and knowledgeable.

Everyone that I interacted with at Mr. Rooter Plumbing of Saratoga Springs was professional and courteous. We called Mr. Rooter because of a backed up drain. They were able to work to accommodate my schedule, and they called promptly for scheduling updates. Darvell was very knowledgeable, personable, and professional. John (the owner) along with the rest of his guys worked well as a team to resolve the plumbing issue in a timely and affordable manner. I will definitely hire them in the future for planned and unplanned plumbing issues.

John and his team came out for water leaking back into my basement near the main sewer line. They were quick/efficient/and most importantly honest and transparent, as this was supposed to be a drain cleaning/clogged pipe call as we thought. Unfortunately for us it turned into a collapsed portion of our main sewer line underground seen with the camera. We discussed options, and what I was charged for the initial visit was comped/built into the estimate sent over for the large job that was ahead. Pricing was competitive, some issues along the way that were out of John and his teams control did not stop them from finishing the job within 2 days. Highly recommended for anyone looking for any plumbing needs. You ll be in good hands!!

Our basement flooded the other night. Not having a plumber I called Mr. Rooter Plumbing in a panic. I believe John (the owners) wife answered around 7 in the evening and she was great to deal with. She was able to move around appointments and fit us in the next day as we were not sure what was going on with our sump pump and due to the flood we did not have hot water. Chris came the following day, diagnosed the problem and gave us many options for a new hot water heater. He was very knowledgeable and was not pushing the more expensive products. Two days later John and Chris came over to install a tankless water heater. They did a wonderful job explaining the process and information to my wife who was home. John was meticulous in the placement and installation of the new water heater. They did excellent work! Professional, clean, neat, and friendly. I would highly recommend Mr. Rooter! From my initial call to the end of the job they made a stressful situation a lot less stressful.

Just beware they will not give even a ballpark cost if it is a routine toilet drain clog. Seems their goal is to get someone there and then tell you the price ($603.36 in my case)and because youre desperate they hope you will have them do the work. They charge $59 and change to come out. I complained about the price and they said they would refund the $59 and change after they gave me the price but at that point I had a tenant without a toilet for 2 days. I wont be using them again. I cant imagine what they would charge for a larger job. They were a 1/2 hour late because the plumber didnt read the note about going to the side door but I can live with that. They did fix the problem. Hopefully it stays fixed at that price.

I called Mr. Rooter Plumbing after our hot water heater died over the holiday weekend. We had been without hot water for two days. I was able to get a hold of Karen on the first try and we subsequently through calls and text messages arranged purchasing and pick up of a new hot water heater from Loewes which John, who did the installation, was able get on his way to our home. His assistant Joshua arrived before him and was already dismantling the old heater so that by the time John came with the new one, they were able to efficiently install it. John even stuck around to make sure our water was running again after it initially failed to come back on. Prompt, friendly, professional service all around!

I had called several other places for emergency service and was unable to find anyone able to come quickly. I left a message with Mr. Rooter on Sunday night - they responded via text immediately and asked that I call Monday morning. I called just after eight in the morning and they had their plumber (John) at my house within 20 minutes. He quickly repaired the leak and the price was extremely reasonable. Much less than expected. Absolutely will use them again!

Called this business earlier in the week to set up a water line to my new refrigerator. The lady who answered the phone penciled me in for an appointment on Friday at 8AM. 830AM rolls around and I give them a call. The lady now says the appointment is anywhere between 830AM-1030AM, and that the plumbers are one their way now, which they werent. I tried reaching them multiple times from 930-945 to let them know that it would be too late as I work at 11AM. No one picks up the phone. The plumbers give me a call around 10AM saying they are outside. I told them its too late and that I tried calling to save them the trip but no one answered the phone. Overall just unprofessional business. I planned my day around them and no one is there to answer the phone. Try any other plumbing business in the area and Im sure you will have a much better experience.

Arrived between the time frame that I was given. They called ahead to let me know he was on his way. He was able to unclog very quickly. A bit pricy but I no longer have to worry about that.

John P worked for 7 hours meticulously replacing pipes from the original build that were installed incorrectly and caused years of problems. He was thorough, honest and fair...even called a day or two later to make sure everything was working well.

We re remodeling a bathroom and removed vanity/sink to install a pedestal sink instead. The drain and water supply pipes needed re-location to allow for installation of pedestal sink John and Austin are very prompt, personable, efficient, and do great work. Will definitely use again in the future.

We had a dishwasher installed by Mr. Rooter - after two attempts of delivery and installation by HD, I decided we needed a professional. I called and spoke to Jennifer who was very knowledgeable and offered to send someone the same day. I ended up scheduling an appointment for the next day. Austin was able to change the pipe fittings to attach to the dishwasher. He then discovered our previous plug-in dishwasher had been modified and was hardwired. He was able to modify the plug we had and add a junction box to accommodate our dishwasher. Very thankful for his skill and ability to work with what we had purchased. He was very professional and cleaned up after the installation. Bonus was that he took our old dishwasher and all of the packaging. Will definitely call this company for future plumbing needs.

These guys were phenomenal. We live up on the hill and 100+ feet from the street. We had a mysterious clog somewhere along the main line. Finding it was a huge obstacle in and of itself. Austin the service professional assigned to us was relentless and came back three times to help diagnose and ultimately fix our big problem. He even made a quick trip to Utica to get the equipment needed to fix our unique issue. Austin and his boss and the office manager were kind, communicative, and reassuring. No gloom and doom here! (Which I can t stand.) we had to pay a weekend service fee which they kindly rolled over and converted that fee into their membership fee offering discounts future services instead. John from Mr Rooter is by far my Go to GUY for my plumbing needs!!! I had an odd project for Wood to Natural Gas Fire Pit conversion. John was able to do what others in the industry could not and I mean that literally. I had multiple quotes from others and even big name commercial contractors and no one wanted to attempt the project and ones that could were way out of the ballpark for pricing. My only clause was to not deface my existing patio. So John agreed on the project with his word and a handshake (and quote of course). He came in financially under others, and the job was meticulously done. We took time to create a plan and work the plan, flawlessly. John takes his job serious and cares about the customers and I would recommend him for any Water/Gas plumbing needs. Mr Rooter (John), My Wife and I Sincerely THANK YOU for the Gas Fire Pit and enjoy many evenings with a glass of wine or beer to unwind after a long day.

Called to get a free estimate, and it was quite a bit lower than every other place we called, including another contractor (CB) that was almost twice the cost for a similar water heater. The installation was well done. The installer (John the owner) took the entire day to run lines correctly for inlet and exhaust pipes, and re-work the natural gas and hot/cold water pipes, and even run an 120 volt electrical line extension. They also honored a quote from the previous year, since we had delayed getting an installation due to medical issues. Our existing natural gas tanked water heater had died in the last few days, and they were able to come literally the next day, despite business being up due to social distancing - i.e. people being home and flushing flushable wipes down the drain. Best contractor experience, ever, for me.
