After struggling for months with a water leak in my basement, and costly efforts by a handyman, a plumber, a general contractor and a well company, none of which solved my problem, I reached out to Adirondack Basement Systems. What a breath of fresh air! My initial meeting was with design specialist, Jeff Stewart. He was so reassuring and knew exactly what the issue was and with illustrations, made a clear proposal of how to fix this. My next contact was with service technician, John Kruk. With the same reassuring manner he took me to the basement, explained all details of the project in clear terms and got to work. Four hours later he took me back to the site of the leak and walked me through what he had done. All mess was totally cleaned up and my relief is immeasurable. We had some crawl spaces moisture issues that needed to be addressed and we contacted Adirondack basement systems to assess and complete the work. After getting us on the schedule, the crew arrived and inspected the area. Kerry, the foreman, told us that there was a plumbing issue that needed to be addressed before they could begin the work. He was very friendly and professional in advising us about what should be done and why. After the plumbing issue was resolved, he returned with his crew and they completed the work in one day. Kerry was very knowledgeable, he explained everything they had done, and gave me instructions on how to maintain the equipment that they had installed. Overall the crew was very friendly, and did quality work.

We had a huge basement project done by Adirondack Basment. Kerry, Chris and Jeremy were the professional installers .and I do mean professional! Adirondack Basement Systems agreed to look at our crawlspace underneath our double-wide mobile/modular home. The company sent Jeff Stewart to assess what we might need, and he gave us photos of the view there, a list of his recommendations, and three choices for remediation. He was quite affable and very clear in his explanations. He made our decision-making easy. Weeks later, when the Adirondack Basement Systems team of Zach, Antonio, and Dan arrived, they went right to work. They never stopped! Their diligence and skills as well as their incredible teamwork in that low and dark space meant they finished installing the encapsulation system, drainage matting to protect against moisture and microbial growth, spray foam insulation, two access doors, and a dehumidifier in a single day. Because we did not have an outlet in the space, they could not start the dehumidifier, but they did set it exactly where it will need to be and attached the drainage hose, so that once our electrician puts in the outlet, the system will run without issue. The young men were cheerful, amiable, and eager to have us inspect the work when they finished. Already, our home feels warmer, no longer has a damp odor, and just feels safer/healthier. We highly recommend this company and its workers for their professionalism. They delivered exactly what they promised for exactly the price they quoted and in a quite efficient manner. Tried to get an estimate for their Helical Deck Piers. I explained that area is wide open and intended for a camp deck which is located an hour away. The person said they could not provide a quote without sending sales person to the site. Seem untrustworthy, beware. Response. Again, I m referring to deck support posts, several feet from the foundation. I don t need anyone to evaluate the condition of my foundation or design anything. How much do you charge per post.

Tim headed up a team including Phil and Tyreke working on our basement and crawl space over the course of an entire week. The work needed was previously scoped out by Dave who quoted the job. We could not be happier with how the entire job was handled and the final result. Our basement was damp, musty & smelly, and the block foundation walls bowed in. Now it is dry, clean, white and smells like there was never a problem. Structural supports were installed to save the walls. The team worked dilligently and were always pleasant and respectful. I recommend Adirondack Basement highly. We own an 1800 s farmhouse with the typical dirt floor basement that was prone to flooding in the spring. We have had no issues since the installation, you can t put a price on piece of mind. No more waking up at 1 AM in the below zero weather in a snow storm to run a hose out the basement window and firing up the sump pump to avoid loosing the furnace and hot water tank

The work we contracted for was completed yesterday (8/15/24) - a day and a half earlier than estimated. The job was done as expected and we re very pleased with the outcome. We initially dealt with Dave for the site visit and estimate; he answered all our questions and concerns and checked in as the work progressed. Brandon, Luis and Roger are top-notch! They were always on time, personable and polite. They did a lot of work in 3-1/2 days: demo, WaterGuard XL drainage system, CleanSpace wall system, TripleSafe Sump System, EverBrace Wall System (before/after photos below), exterior foundation repair, clean-up and all the other things necessary to complete the job. We would definitely recommend Adirondack Basement Systems. Oh, and the office team was great too! The clincher for me before we hired ABS was seeing the Paw ffice Greeter (Chief) and the CEO/Certified Energy Officer (Beretta) - though we never met them! Thank you!

Had some worsening moisture problems in our basement. Adirondack Basements provided a free assessment with no sales pressure. It was very clear from the outset that they knew what they were doing. Ultimately, even though the job involved some jackhammering and digging and other things, the two people worked from morning until late afternoon and finished the job in one day. I m very pleased with the outcome. No more dampness in the basement where the problem occurred. The odor and moisture are gone. This is a very professional and capable group. The cost was not cheap, but this clearly is an example of you get what you pay for!

The crew who came in and installed our sump pump went above an beyond and filled in an old cistern we had with dirt and rock they had dug for the sump pump and even covered the actual hole in the ground. Absolutely amazing team, could not be more impressed.

The only part of the job that was confusing was when the electrician said that I needed a ground fault outlet and Adirondack basement said that I needed a ground fault fuse in the box and a regular outlet on the wall. I really didnt know who to believe.

The basement windows that Adirondack Basement Systems provides are FANTASTIC!!! Not only do both glass panels and screen slide to either the left or right, but all 3 easily remove from the window to allow complete access to your basement. This is exactly what I was looking for. I had a mysterious and heavy leak in the basement that seemed to have something to do with the sump pump and associated plumbing. Seth and Matt came out the very next morning. Since the leak had stopped they did some exploratory work to try to recreate the issue and get to the bottom of the problem. Once they figured out what the problem was, they did everything needed to fix it and then test it. They cleaned up all the water and mess and were extremely helpful, friendly and kind. They had complete knowledge of my warranty and what was covered. I had an excellent experience with them and really can t recommend them enough!

My husband and I had just bought this new house and we were having work done on our basement the guys were completely unprofessional. My daughter could hear the workers arguing from her window. Then my husband saw them just sitting around most of the day. All they cared about was smoking their cigarettes all day and completely ranchey conversation. Only one guy seemed like he actually wanted to work. A young nice professional guy. Totally disappointed. Was told the project would be finished in a week 3weeks later I m still waiting. Totally unprofessional behavior. I will never recommend these people. Found a much better company to repair our basement.

Well we just had the rain storm of the century here. All my neighbors had to get their basements pumped out and it made a heckuva mess. Last winter I had my basement done by Adirondack and my basement was dry as can be. Prior to having done my basement would have flooded totally. Instead my roof leaked and I m handling that mess. Thankfully I don t have to deal with a flooded basement too! So thankful for these guys right now. They did the job quickly effectively and obviously correctly. Thanks again!

I heard about them from my daughter who had a unit in their basement for several years. I was using a cheap one at the time that was giving me a lot of trouble and was running 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Adirondack Basement Systems, after talking with me sent a man our to determine my needs. He brought a unit with him and it happened to be the right one so he installed it right then. We had had the unit now for 2 summers and it is working great. It keeps the humidity down while running only a few minutes, several times a day. We have had no trouble with it and would recommend it to anyone.

I had water seeping through the footer of my foundation after winter and even with rain, more water would come in. From the consultation to the completion of the full perimeter drainage installation, Adirondack Basement was amazing. Were very satisfied with the basement waterproofing service. Kevin Kovals did a service call today and nothing wrong with pumps. Water sensor was alarming due to moisture coming up through plastic barrier because of unprecedented rainfall in July. There was no charge for this call.

We had a great experience with Adirondack Basement. They were very responsive, timely and efficient. Jeff also got back to us asap and was very professional, Matthew and his team did a great job installing the system and explaining the Sedona unit and the office team were all excellent!

after years of trying to have them fix the issues they created, our basement flooded recently (one issue is they buried a drain they put in years back when replacing a window well and that leaks.) While fixing that (still leaking) they broke our main sewer line and we had gallons of raw sewage to clean up after we called an emergency plumber. Adirondack Basement, Kevin himself, paid for that. They took months and four visits to fix another escape window well they installed (improperly). This eventually failed and now we have to refinish an entire 2.200 sqft finished basement apartment. Kevin and his team are not driven by quality or customer service. Heres a quote from his Facebook, I dont work in the businesses I have. I work on them. This is why hes lost sight and the businesses have become subpar. Be very careful.

John arrived a little early and was very professional and polite. He explained everything very clearly and he was very patient answering our questions. Very positive experience!

Came out for an estimate. Over 2 weeks later we had not received our estimate. We were told numerous times that it had been emailed. We even requested it to two separate emails. The secretary gave us the quote ($1600) over the phone, but we requested to view the quote before we proceeded with the work. After the 4th or 5th phone call to get the quote, we receive an email that the window wells were not in their scope of work and it fell below the $1500 minimum even though at the time of the quote the salesman said this would be an easy job for them at the time of the estimate. So now they leave us with water still coming into our basement and wasted over 2 weeks where we could ve been getting other quotes. Completely unprofessional and I would NEVER recommend to anyone!

Adirondack has corrected the problem of my backyard flooding however there is another issue related to the plumber they contract with and I am waiting for that to be resolved. Once that issue is taken care of I will increase their rating again.

Just had a service call on our dehumidifier and couldn t be more pleased with the service. We received a confirmation call yesterday and the tech, John Kruk, arrived on time, quickly diagnosed a problem, and took extra steps to install a temporary replacement on the spot. He was a pleasure to work with.

My dehumidifier leaked water onto the floor. I called ADK basement and they sent a technician named John out who correctly diagnosed the problem (clogged tubing), fixed the problem, replaced the filter, adjusted the drain angle AND helped vacuum the standing water. He patiently explained the steps of his work. Thank you to him and Alisha for coordinating the service call!

Our sump pump became clogged and created a huge drainage issue in our basement. John arrived around 1 and saved the day - he reinstalled the line and didn t leave until the job was done which was well past 9pm. He went above and beyond to make sure we were not left with a mess. Happy with my experience. Had a hard time getting other companies to call me back. Adirondack was very responsive and communicative throughout the process from initial estimate call to scheduling. The price was more than I anticipated based on hearing from friends what they paid in the past but not unreasonable given the work. They responded promptly to my request for an estimate and provided multiple options for the scope of the work and gave amounts for each scenario. They came sooner than anticipated to complete the work and were efficient and clean with all the materials and equipment coming through. So far system is working well. Overall I m happy with everything.

When a crack in my basement widened, everyone recommended Adirondack. I called for an estimate and Jon was so informative! He took the time to answer all of my questions and explain the options and processes. On the day the work was scheduled, my power had been out since the night before. I was calling the office thinking I had to cancel when Zack gave me a call to say they were on the way. I explained that there wasnt any power and the house was FREEZING! He said they would come out anyway - they had batteries for the tools and jackets, so no problem. When they arrived, Zack had brought me a giant cup of coffee - he even double cupped it to keep it warm!!!! Seriously. Who does that these days? What a team :) Oh, and my basement looks great lol

Had some smart jacks installed last August. The workmen arrived as scheduled but finished quite far ahead of the time I expected for the work described. I immediately raised concerns as to the quality of the work and if it was as outlined in our contract. They insisted it was correct and left. I pulled up the contract and confirmed some work agreed upon that they hadnt done (poured concrete footers) and emailed my concerns to the person with whom I had contracted the work. I didnt receive a response to the email but the workers called back saying they were turning around to complete the work. They did eventually complete the work as agreed. Unfortunately in the months since, my floors have continued to sag badly and the walls are still cracking. I question if the jacks were tightened properly as some look quite loose and one is installed on a visible angle. Ive been hoping that its a temporary situation until the beam settles onto the new supports. Today I had someone from another company come to look at repairing the cracks (which are, for the record, not Adirondack basements fault) and he shook his head at the work. Its not my place to comment on other peoples work but its not even straight. He also confirmed that the jacks could be tightened more even now to support the beam properly. All in all Im not thrilled with the work and probably wouldnt recommend them to others. Hopefully this is an outlier and not a common experience. ----------- Editing with a follow up: Today the crew returned and lifted the loose jacks as well as installing an additional one for free. The floor feels immediately firmer and the squeaking is less pronounced. After the follow up which was quick and courteous, I would absolutely recommend them, with the caveat that you ought to look closely at the work done and make sure it matches the work agreed to. Thank you for making it right.

I have been a customer of Adirondack Basement Systems for 17 years. After 17 years our original dehumidifier needed to be replaced. John Kruk was the service provider. He called and arrived promptly as scheduled. He was personable and knowledgeable. I ended up replacing our existing dehumidifier with a brand new one. He was prepared and had one right on the truck. Took about 45 minutes and he hauled out the old one. I would highly recommend this company and their products.

My basement is pretty dry. Pump removes the coming water from the ditch channel regularly, but somewhere tiny cracks appeared on the block walls. I call the specialist from this service and asked him to repeal old paint, to fix the cracks and to pain walls with the new water sealant paint. When he came for the estimate, instead of this, he said that this service is not doing this kind of work and tried to sell me the expensive internal sheetrock panels to cover existing block walls. Finally, Ive repaired this basement myself (in my 65 y.o.). The walls were repaired by liquid concrete and hydraulic cement, sanded and painted 2 time with the Latex Base Drylok Masonry Waterproofer. I gave myself the warranty for this repair for the nearest 10 years.

Assessment done. Required bigger repairs than originally thought. Discussed, planned. Done in 3 days and cleaned up. Advised of progress and each step. Even advised of financial options. Awesome.

Zach and Taylor came to repair a crack in my foundation and cut a doorway in my foundation. They were very prompt, communicated throughout the process, and left a great final product! I will definitely be using Adirondack Basement again!

The owner came and did a thorough evaluation, lots of measurements and drawings of our basement and gave us choices as to what was available, or things they could do while fixing the leaking basement walls. Not up-selling though. Excellent estimate experience, weve agreed to the job to be done in February.

New sump pump system and redug around the inside trench and installed their system. So glad I hired Adirondack basement. Very polite, respectful hard workers. This winter has been a challenge to the system. The ground never totally froze and sump pump is pumping. No more mold and basement smells much better

I had a seriously wet basement and no sub-flooring in our old farmhouse. Our furnishings were getting damp and musty for years in one of our rooms. I was sold when I read Adirondack Basement Systems entire extensive, informative website. Meeting with a company representative who was pleasant, well-informed and thorough sealed the deal. The different technicians who did the work were friendly and professional. They did a wonderful job and our basement is now dry as a bone. They happily came back a month later to make an adjustment in the system for us. Its a great company and I highly recommend them.

No live person answering the phone. I left several messages without a call back. Finally received a call back message and called them back again twice with no return call. My last message asked them to set up appointment and let me know and Ill be there. Its a week later and again no return call. I do not believe their unit is running correctly in my home and am not sure what is going on with this company.

The work completed by Adirondack Basement Systems was really done very well. They completely dried out our wet basement and my allergies are no longer an issue. Both Dave, our design specialist, and Zack, our installer, were so professional and did a fantastic job. They allowed us to delay the work during the pandemic. Ive had one of their basement systems for several years. Theres a home depot dehumidifier set at 60% in the basement all of the time. It still smells like a damp basement in there. No idea if its even working?

Had issues with our old sump pump not moving enough water, and water coming up through the floor. We got a better sump pump and dehumidifier from them, they claimed it would fix the problem of water coming up from the ground. Every single person, from mold inspectors to handymen that we have had come in to help with the water that saw their work said it was awful and will have to go because there is no drainage to the sump pump. Also there was no change in water coming up through the floor.

The work they did was of good quality. However they could not repair a basement wall that they had initially said they could. The cost is also exorbitant for the work they do.

I called them a couple of days ago and received an appointment right away. They also called the day before to confirm. I thought I had a foundation issue in my basement since there was water down there. Jeff Stewart showed up on time and was friendly and professional. He looked at my basement and said I just had a leaky pipe in the back of my sink that was not visible to me. It s a plumbing problem, not the foundation. He could ve told me it was the foundation and totally taken advantage of the fact I had no clue. I m a single mom who works hard and struggles to find good people who will not rip me off. Adirondack Basement is a company that has workers who have integrity and are true professionals. I would definitely recommend and refer them even though I ended up not using them. Initially there was a great deal of miscommunication and the job got started months after we planned. But when Austin arrived (he s the one that does egress) everything changed. He is knowledgeable, professional and personable. We are going to do additional work and purchase equipment as a result of his recommendations.

We recently used Adirondack Basement to do a Structural I bean in our basement to replace an existing beam that had been installed incorrectly. Pete made the drawing and explained everything he would recommend. They came in with a great crew. No playing around they got right to work! They placed there footings, did the beam plus we had them spray foam in the basement to sill all cracks that was letting air in. They were very professional. They came in did the job was very informative, they cleaned up the mess and finished the job in a very timely manner. I would definitely recommend these guys!! Our basement is warmer then it has ever been!! we could tell immediately the difference. Thanks for a job well done!!

We have asked multiple times for a quote, but no response, therefore we cannot rate the actual product. Its been almost 2 months and we are still waiting. If we could give Zero stars we would. This is the worst experience we have ever had dealing with a company. - They advertise FREE ESTIMATES but then try to charge you - They make promises and do not deliver - The employees a rude and it obviously come from the top down because after waiting 2 weeks for an estimate we was promised, multiple phone calls, and multiple text messages we reached out to the owner, Kevin Koval and his Vise President Jen Fox, neither of which returned our call. Instead they forwarded our voice mail to the same 2 people we called to talk to them about to get a resolution. While trying to purchase a home a basement water problem was discovered during the home inspection. We and the homeowner agreed to use Adirondack Basement for the estimate and repair (which was to be included in the purchase price of the home). The homeowner contacted and coordinated the estimate. When we questioned Adirondack on the proposed solution, which obviously did not address the whole water problem to the house we were told by Adirondack that they had verbally quoted them a whole house solution which was a little under $10,000 but it was rejected by the homeowner and the written quote (for much less) was provided. The sales person said they would be more than happy to supply that quote. We waited over a week and then they came back and wanted to charge us $200 for 2 new quotes (no longer free... but not advertised anywhere), when we said wed pay we waited another week... countless calls & text messages to the person with no response.. finally we reached out to their manager.. all that achieved was being tossed back and forth... We reached out to the owner and the VP but again... no response... We lost the contract on the home and we lost our deposit money (which was significant). Think twice before using this company. I DO NOT recommend doing business with this company... even for their Free Estimate - nothing is ever really Free

I had a bid to remove my basement concrete, remove 4 of dirt and re-pour a high psi concrete floor. We were also getting a sump pump, perimeter drainage, and an egress window. The job was going to take 2 weeks and cost just over $40k. Its been almost 1.5 months since the job began and my basement is a pit of mud. Adirondack Basement Systems has a major issue with management and they have been terrible to work with. The two guys that have done most of the concrete work have been very nice and courteous and are doing the best they can. Management on the other-hand have been ridiculous. I am really hoping that ABS finishes this job soon, but Im not sure that is going to happen. Currently, besides the pit of mud in my basement, I have a 4 x 4 hole cut into my back patio, a sump hose lying in my front lawn, and no way to access my breaker box which is in the basement (yes, I have a breaker that popped and no way to turn it back on). Besides all of this, I also had sewage backing up into my basement. This was eventually fixed by a plumber, but was certainly disgusting. Adirondack Basement Systems has made no attempts to get this job finished. They say theyll call with a plan, and then I hear nothing but crickets. I would either avoid this company altogether, or have a completion clause written into the contract.

Professional, & on time. The gentleman that came to our house to help us remediate a damp basement assessed the situation and told us what our options were. We went for an expensive dehumidifier that they sold to us. The small one we had didnt do the job sufficiently. After about 2 months of running the unit our entire house smelled different and our friends commented that our whols house smelled better! I would highly reccommend them.

This company is literally the worst company that I have ever dealt with. Please consider a different company if you are having trouble with a damp basement. They try to sell u things that wont cure your initial problem. Then after they take your money you find out the hard way that there product is proprietary and cant be serviced by anyone but them. No other HVAC company would even consider touching one of there dehumidification units. They sell you a product that even they cant fix in house. No trained or certified technicians. The unit has to be shipped back to Conn. at an extreme cost to the consumer. All in all it would have cost me $700 to fix my dehumidifier. Half the cost of the original system. Ridiculous. Please avoid them at all cost. Trust me. There r other commercial grade dehumidifiers out there that can be bought for the same or less money. There is nothing proprietary about the sani dry xp. Just a large capacity store grade dehumidifier.

Highly recommend! Ive known Kevin and his sales team for 15+ years. As business owners, weve always had a mutual respect and often referred customers to each other. This past fall we hired Adirondack Basement to work on our own basement. We had foam board insulation installed on the walls and spray foamed the sill. My basement is now a constant 65 degrees despite the negative outdoor temps. We also had a couple of vertical cracks, which always leaked, where they installed Flexi Span. Im happy to report that 4 months later- no more leak!. The installation crew was polite, knowledgeable and did an amazing job. They also went above and beyond and help us with a few minor plumbing repairs.
