I was looking for a honest and professional car repair shop. My nephew referred me to go see Mike and his staff at innovative. When I arrived for my scheduled appointment I was welcomed with a great smile and positive energy from Mike. I was impressed by how many people were happy to come there and get their car issues resolved. I could tell from the interactions with his customers it was nothing less than trust, mutual respect and longevity. I ve never asked anyone for a handout or a favor, I just look for the complete picture of someone to do great honest work and reliable regardless who you are & whether it s a big or small. I could go on and on telling all the things I heard and saw for the 2 1/2 hours while I was there,but seeing is believing. I really appreciate the great work and giving me the feeling of confidence when I get into my 2016 Kia Sorento that I decided to follow up with the recommendation from my nephew and I m extending to whoever reads this review. Again I highly recommend this place if you want professional and honest quality service for you or your family/ friends please schedule your appointment and experience what good business use to be like many years ago when a man s word was his bond!!!

I went in for A/C check, thinking Freon was all it needed. Paid $97 for Freon (Mike claimed he gave me a $20 discount, even though he originally quoted me $85 AFTER he had already filled it instead of FIRST, checking that my assumption that it may need Freon was correct. THEN, quoting me a price if in fact I d like to move forward considering it may have a leak. BEFORE he allowed his worker to fill it). Half hour later the A/C died again. When I arrived again at the shop, Mike immediately got offensive when I stated the A/C died half hour after I pulled out the shop and stated he had told me the A/C might have a leak that s why he put dye in it to easily pinpoint where the leak would be. He kept repeating I told you that. I told you that on the phone and before you left here. No. We spoke of the fact I wasn t sure if all it needed was Freon. What you were supposed to do was check it and inform me BEFORE filling it and charging me for a service that you knew could possibly be a leak and give ME the consideration and option of whether or not I would want to take the chance and possibly waste my money! Mike made no attempt to reimburse the $97 or even a portion of the $97 and said that the Freon service is automatically done via a machine and it charges per Freon charge... he said if there had been a significant leak the machine would not have filled ... I believe if the Freon leaked out in less than half an hour, it s obvious there was a huge detectable leak! After the fact, he had a worker recheck where the dye pinpointed the leak... and to fix that would be around $800! That tells me it was a significant leak and your machine should ve picked up on it Before filling and charging me almost $100 for useless service. I was not going to argue the point with him. Clearly with his disposition it would lead no where as he was perfectly fine with his unworthy service. Customer service is priority when running a business that caters to the public. How you treat a customer is imperative in how the customer reviews his/her experience with you and your business. A business should never forget one negative experience leads to a customer warning multiple people of their experience.

I can t say enough good things about the service and repair that I received from Innovative Performance Auto. I own a 2012 Nissan Altima that had a horrible rattling sound from the right engine side of the car. The car had been seen by 3-4 other mechanics for other service over the last three years and each one couldn t give me a straight answer in the rattling- most even the dealer said it was a heat shield. I had bought a new alternator four years ago and that mechanic said it was a heat shield too. No one was sure what this annoying rattle was. So, I figure I am going to try Innovative (I am from Menands) and they look at my car and diagnosis the issue in the drive area of the car. They take off the drive belt and put on a new one, but there is still a rattle. Not deterred, they look at the water pump, still a rattle, and then they put a new alternator in and ..it is indeed the alternator! They installed a better alternator and guaranteed it for three years with labor. The service and expertise were fantastic! I lived with that annoying rattling for three years- I feel like I have a new car:) thank you, Mike !!

I have been meaning to write this review, so today is the day. This is hands down an excellent place to take your vehicle. Most people have undergone anxiety or fear of getting one pulled over on them in dealing with their car maintenance, but this was not the case here. Mike was excellent from the fast response to get back to my voicemail, the ease of drop off and pick-up, honest pricing for the brake service I required, and most importantly the courteous and friendly customer service I received. Omg this place the best. Took my care to toyota and walked out with a 2000 bill. Madia said i needed to change my oil pan. Took it to Mike and didnt need anything toyota suggested and didnt need an oil pan just a plug. When all said and done out of pocket 223.54. Mike and crew always take excellent care of us in timely manner with very fair pricing in the 3 years we have been customers. Never had to argue over a bill and repairs are done right the 1st time. On the rare occassion follow up work needs is needed, Ive never had to wait long for it to be done. Plus..hes very understanding about our precocious 2 year old granddaughter attempting to dismantle his waiting area . Definitely cant go wrong having your car serviced here.

The tires on my car were bald and after issues such as bad alignments, damaged rims, etc at a local well known garage, as well as a large dealership, I decided to go somewhere new. I was referred to this shop by several co-workers. They all spoke highly of Mike and his crew and I can see why. Mike provided quotes for several different tires all at very reasonable prices. I have been looking for a mechanic I can trust for a long time. Mike does all of our company vehicles along with the cars of several co-workers and came highly recommended. Both of our cars are getting older and need more maintenance and work. I have been extremely happy with the work performed, the price and the experience overall! Mike is amazing! My whole family takes their cars to him! He is always honest and fair and if he notices something starting to look like it will need to be fixed/repaired soon he lets you know so you can be prepared. The whole team is great and they treat you like family!

Ten years and no issues.

Mike and his crew do top notch work, and the cost is far less than a dealer or any other local shop would charge. They are the only guys that work on any of my familys vehicles (from base model winter beaters and Jeeps to high performance modified Mustangs), as they always get the job right the first time and it doesnt cost me an arm and a leg. I have been bringing my car to mike ever since he opened! I have found an honest and extremely fair mechanic. His work and the work of his mechanics are wonderful! And they stand by their work. Highly recommend this shop!

Mike has been maintaining our family vehicles for a little over 6 years now. His work is of a high quality and his pricing is fair. He is an asset to his profession and to the community his business resides.

I needed to get a simple programming procedure done on my vehicle. After being turned away at another shop down the road, I gave these folks a try. When I explained the request for a crank position sensor relearn procedure, they asked why I thought it was needed (I had just replaced the sensor), and then explained that they were willing to try, but that the procedure was not always successful (many variables, such as manufacturer, etc). They offered to try, and said no charge if not successful. I left the vehicle with them while I got lunch. When I returned, they were done and the system reported the procedure was successful. I confirmed on the drive home that I am no longer receiving false misfire warnings. As others mentioned, I found these folks to be honest and upfront. They charged minimum labor for the procedure (1/2 hour of standard labor) which seems to be fair, and is also considerable less than the dealer wanted for the same procedure. Very happy with the way I was treated and the amount they charged. I would trust these folks with more advanced repairs.

I just moved to this area from Utah and wasnt happy to start the process again in trying to find a mechanic that is honest, fair, and knows their stuff. Luckily someone referred me to Mike and its been great. He was beyond fair with the repairs he did and I even tried to give him more money and he politely refused and said, Dont worry about it, I just hope to win your business.
