Chris and Liz are AMAZING people, big hearts and willing to go the extra mile for their customers. They are experts at what they do, and give fair prices. Ive driven classic/new sports cars from Monticello just to see Chris, and trust his work (it has shown). You will not be disappointed.

I own a 2016 CLS 550 Mercedes Benz in immaculate condition, one day I jacked my car up to plug a flat in my tire. The entire suspension dropped I took it to Middletown Auto because I thought that it would be something small.. I received a call about 2 hours later and was informed that my compressor was bad and needed to be replaced. After replacing the compressor twice ,the valve block.. The relays.. and being without my vehicle for over a month... I was now informed that I needed to take it to Mercedes to have the compressor programmed.. when I took the car to the dealership they looked at me like I had two heads what do you mean programmed.. they told me that if everything was installed properly it should work.. and nothing was working.. after another two week wait I finally got it into the dealership and was informed that there was a fuse that was not replaced and that was the cause of the compressor not operating in the first place.. I spent over $5,000 repairing this vehicle... And as a great big favor the owner Chris the dishonest veteran.. volunteered to pay half of the subcontracting fee in order to have the car diagnosed.. which is against New York state law Cr 82-13.. either way I paid the extra $300 Mercedes-Benz repair the problem and Im off to the races again... Ive called several dealerships from New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.. and it may be a very rare coincidence that when I jack the car up simultaneously the compressor went bad... But all of the suspension blown as well? Come on? I noticed that the owner is very involved in rebuttals on Google reviews but to steal from other hard-working people is a shame and to violate New York State law is a crime.. unless you just think youre above the law.. by the way did I mention that they tore up the shroud underneath my vehicle? And the dishonorable veteran Chris said that he would not pay, nor be responsible for it.. so off we are to court... I served four tours for my country and now I have to be robbed right here at home.. I didnt ask for any favors I didnt ask for payment plans or handouts I paid every penny that was requested and it was all false... Did I mention that they demanded other payments in cash so that they could avoid taxes? A thief in the work shirt is no different than a thief on the subway.. its horrible what you are doing to your customers and Middletown residents. See you soon

Dont stop here. Chris wanted $90 to have my crank sensor replaced, One screw, five min job. I thought a $20 would be fair, the cost of the tool if I DIY. I gave the Baby Boomer $60, so I could get my car from his garage held hostage, religious cult propaganda to read while l waited. Im guessing hes also a trump cultist too. Nice upfront, but then azhole. Make your money Chris, but be a good neighbor and help out too, you failed that, and your neighbors know, they all leave bad reviews of your shop, so you have to take what you can, sad. Dont stop here. EDIT. All of the owners responses are identical, WE always ask for charity its his Mode de operandi, like him always asking for CASH ONLY to avoid paying tax, because hes a fair guy , pay your share its not charity Chris ! My back was against the wall after Monro on Dolson screwed me over last minute and didnt honor my oil change/inspection appointment. Chris got me serviced right away and quelled my concerns. I definitely recommend Middletown Auto Repair!

Super friendly service. We were driving south from VT to FL and discovered that our A/C didn t work. I called when we were only 15 minutes away, and they were able to accommodate us immediately. We were back on the road within an hour. Highly recommend!

I could cry tears of joy this shop went above and beyond for me I was stranded on a Tuesday morning had a guy name Leo tow my car only to get back to his shop calling with a bunch of excuses as to why he wish he never took on the job it s such a hard job I called Liz at this shop the owners wife she recommended a guy who could tow my car to her shop they ordered my starter because that s what was wrong with my car got me in and out in 2 hours even bought me lunch because they said I got ripped off enough by this town even gave me a oil change because I needed one I recommend this place to anybody they are so friendly and kind and fast and really care about they customers I m coming back for breaks and tires I found a new home for my vehicle I thank you all so much me and my kids thank you

I came to the shop cause my car was making an interesting noise, the owner Stephanie came to help me right away, with extremely good customer service, after two minutes he drove my car he recognized the problem right away, and after an hour it was fixed, Super super customer service, and quick and efficient work,+relatively cheap. Recommend for everyone!!!

This place is amazing. I have never been treated so well at the unexpected car mechanical issue. I was not told next week is the first appt. One of the mechanics said hed stay to complete my car. The second time I drove jn and it was evaluated abd fixed the next day when the part came in. So grateful to have met this company.

Ive been having an issue with my A/C and it didnt seem like anyone could figure out why it wasnt working. Well they did! They kept my car for a day and figured it out, then got the part I needed used which saved me a lot of money. They installed it within the week and now I have my A/C back and working perfectly! They even fixed my windshield wiper line I had accidentally scraped off over the winter! Great service and communication!

Honest and very reasonably-priced

My Queen wrote, very dishonest and money hungry people. Another reviewer called them total crooks. Both is absolutely true. My case, I wanted them to check (for a $20 fee) where an oil leak I am having coming from. After putting the car on the their lift and removing the under cover I was told that there is no oil left in the motor and the car cannot be driven anymore (Despite me driving the car to the service station without problem). But I thought what the heck, the car needs fixing and this repair place is probably as good as any other. Totally wrong. There can be hardly any worse car repair shop anywhere. First I was told the need a part from the VW dealership but in two days I can pickup the car. Repair cost was estimated at $575. At the end I was told to pay $975. The part they ordered by the dealership was apparently the wrong part delaying the car repair by an additional 8 days. So, my expenses were $150 rental car (anticipated) then because of their delay additional rental costs of $ 550. And, because the owner after having the car for over one week didn t want to wait 1/2 h for me (out of town) to pick up the car I had to stay in a hotel with more money spent. Finally I picked up the car (by losing a day s pay for not being able otherwise to pick up the car) and the owner Chris was not there. So, he couldn t show me the parts the supposedly changed. Now after two days I looked in the car engine room and found that the motor cleaning ($175 charged) did never happen (there was one strain of spider web on the motor), the oil dip stick showed oil on the bottom and needed to be filled and !!! the air intake was disconnected, the screws holding the air intake in place were removed and a big plastic connector part was missing. (I suppose that for reasons I don t understand the air intake was disconnected for easier access). In the end I spent for a $20 look : $800 cash for the repair, $550 for additional car rental expenses (wrong part was ordered???!!!) hotel and lost income $300. All in all a total of $1,650 and all this for a real lousy job? Sad part is that the owner seems to be very nice but he takes advantage of trusting people. The only thing to do is not to bring the car to this repair shop. They are crooks. Sadly. Oh, I guess that most if not all the positive reviews are fakes, how otherwise can this shop get a 4.7 rating????

If you want a shop that has true integrity, understanding and honesty in ALL they do, take your car here! I cannot say enough good things about the efficiency and professionalism of this business. I will be recommending to everyone I know in Orange County. My AC lost Freon (in a July heatwave; ugh!) they refilled it, kept the documentation in case anything else went wrong, and worked with me from there to get my AC repaired. Chris and Liz are straight shooters who level with you at every step, have guys who are ready to do the work and do it quickly and well. They handled all the insurance claim stuff, updated me regularly on what they could do, and helped put my mind at ease. Chris went above and beyond to do right by me even when my insurance company didn t. It sucks having an AC break down in July heat, but Chris was so helpful and kind the entire time. Happy to get my car repaired here, even from Newburgh! I wouldn t trust anyone else. Bring your car to them and they will do anything they can to help.

OWNER IS LYING AND THEY ABSOLUTELY SERVICED MY 1992 CAMRY - AGAIN DO NOT TRUST!!! I HAVE PROOF! This is the shop from hell. We went in to have a timing service and tune up, initially. The car had been returned to us with a gas leak. They replaced the fuel filter but didnt reconnect things correctly which was causing gas to leak into the engine bay. Then the next day, the timing set they put in failed on a bridge. We requested assistance but they didnt offer to help in any way. They tried to say it also wasnt their fault which is a clear lie. They left our headlight disconnected as well. They do not take responsibility for their actions, causing us to have to take other actions to get back the thousands theyve stolen from us. Scammers.

I dont write reviews, but now this business is slandering my wife and suppressing her negative review. I am a Toyota certified mechanic and retail parts manager for a performance company, who had broken my wrist and ran into a leaking water pump a week later. Based on good reviews that I now question, this shop, located on Dolson Ave, next to Meineke, DID install a timing set to our Camry, which they deny in her review. They DID replace the fuel filter, which was leaking afterwards. They DID break the timing guide on the camshaft and did not inform us. They DID NOT offer assistance when the car broke down in NYC days later. They DID NOT offer any refund of their work, only an option for me to warranty the parts with their supplier and a very nasty see you in court response. Due to our documentation of the conversations, the subsequent repairs and the very obvious damage done to the camshaft when last disassembled, a refund for the entire job was issued by the bank. Stay away from this shop or be prepared for them to NOT stand behind their work when an inevitable problem arises. As an automotive professional in the area for two decades, this is the most blatant example of why customers do not trust mechanics I have witnessed. Thankfully, it was so blatant, court wasnt even needed.

If I could give 0 stars I would. The owner clearly has serious mental issues and refuses to accept his own flaws. He bashed negative reviews and never considers that he makes any mistakes. You should consider customer service number one but it s clear your values are gone. Try to fix yourself before you fix other peoples cars, you could use a tune up and an oil change.

It was a dark Saturday night right after closing time. I waved my hands in front of their window to get their attention. My tire was losing air in the middle of a 500 mile road trip. They were kind enough to take me in and repair my tire. Because of their generosity to work beyond their closing time, I was able to make it to my destination without an extra hotel stay and countless hours trying to get it fixed the following day. There are honest, caring, and skilled people at Middletown Auto Repair and Service.

I was in a jam with a vehicle that needed a new alternator--on a Saturday, no less--as I was passing through Middletown and needed to get back to Albany. Chris and his team were recommended by another local business as being reputable. Not only was that true, but they went out of their way to help me get back on the road with a newly installed alternator as fast as they could. They really went the extra mile. I can recommend Middletown Auto Repair and Service wholeheartedly.

Out of no where my car started shaking while I was driving, and my check engine light turned on. I brought the car in late in the day, and they had me back on the road the next day. Im very satisfied with the service.

What incredible service!!! What started out as an oil change turned into a life or death situation. Chris put my safety first by being honest about all the serious issues with my car. With amazingly fair prices and speedy services from the mechanics, my car was in and out and running great! With a friendly smile Liz completed the transaction and I was on my way. This place is horrible, greedy for money and the mechanics doesnt know what their doing. I bought my car in to get checked , Chris claim his 4000 diagnostic machine was great. Turn out to be otherwise. He held my vehicle 24hrs and didnt start working on it. To the next day, I called the shop to check on my vehicle Noone wouldnt answer the phone, then when I got a hold Chris hung up the phone and went on lunch. I paid 1000 and my check engine light came on 3 days after. I had my step father bring it back and the charger him 35 for part and 160 for labor. This place is horrible i wouldnt advise anyone to bring their vehicle there.

I ve been looking for a new auto repair shop since my last place has burnt down. Other places were giving me ridiculous prices to fix my car during this quarantine time. After some searching I called this place and he gave me the best price that could offer. What I respected was throughout him fixing my car he would update me on what was done and he would check my whole car at the same time to make sure everything was okay. I fixed everything that was wrong with it for the BEST PRICES. To give a better prospective on how good the prices are is that I m a college student and even the money that was asked for to get it fixed did not hurt my pockets financially. The last who range me out was very nice. I will continue to come back here.

Im incredibly distrustful about auto repair to be honest. But these guys were really good I think. I expected a big bill but it honestly wasnt too bad. They even fixed a random hose I noticed on the side. It took an extra <5min but I wasnt even charged. Id go back.

Great mechanics. They helped my wife with her power steering 2006 ford explorer they took air out of the system. Truly honest people Ill recommend to friends and family. They also did my oil changes on my chrysler 200. The mechanic also serviced my awd system ptu. He changed the oil and advised me it needed to be replaced. I had a feeling I needed power steering work done so I looked up some mechanics in Town that had decent reviews, because at this point a lot of them just want your money. However, these mechanics were very straight forward, and super fast. Normally when a mechanic asks you to leave your car, they keep your car for hours and hours and next thing you know you need over $500 of work done, these guys are not like that at all. My car was done within an hour and I paid a decent price for power steering flush and fluid refill. Thank you again!

First I am gonna start off with saying wow.It started as just running in to get a quote for my exhaust system.The owner which was a lady was very professional and very concerned about getting the best possible deal for her customer. She called around to 3 different shops to get prices and she hooked us up with was the cheapest price.I have never been or seen a auto shop go that extent for her customer. They will definitely become my #1 place to get my car worked on.I just got my car back and its awesome. I showed up actually before they were even technically open, and Chris let me in as I frantically was freaking out. I am originally from out of state, and just in middletown for a few short weeks where my car was having some engine issues. He was able to get my car in same day, and even with quite a few repairs, fixed it all in one day as well at an extremely reasonable price. What a relief! I was travelling far from home, broke down in the middle of nowhere (some area apparently known as the Minisinks), and these guys had me back on the road for a good price by any standard (esp. being NY!), and they are exceedingly honest and informative with advice.

Chris and Liz run a truly excellent shop. They are honest, reasonably priced and their mechanics are highly capable. I needed some exhaust work done and they were able to bend and weld a section of pipe to replace what had rusted out, saving me tons of money on new exhausts with expensive catalytic converters. I was new to this shop. Had a car that wouldnt start. I gave them a call and got an immediate response that I could bring it in for them to look at. They were courteous every step of the way, ran all and only the necessary tests to figure out the issue, and managed to get it fixed without having to involve additional vendors. Very friendly people reliable, and did not attempt to upsell me.
