James at Mike Slauson Automotive saved us when no one else would. We slipped on ice into a ditch with a Hummer EV and couldnt get it out, even with crab walk and all-terrain settings. GMC OnStar, USAA, AAA, no one would take the job. James showed up when we expected him to, was incredibly knowledgeable, walked us through how he would get us out, and a few minutes later, we were on our way excellent tow out of a bad situation at a fair price with a great response time. Hopefully I would never have to call them again, but if I needed someone, theyd be the first Id call.

Saved the day and I cant thank these guys enough. Mike was willing to come out to my place (after a 2 hour drive mind you from NYC) and get my car free from its icey shackles. It was pure luck when I went to google and searched for someone to call to help me, but I struck gold, as I know for a fact there isnt anyone else who could have done a better job. A true gentleman, this is the guy.

I needed a tow because my EV battery was draining because of the weather. I pulled into a gas station at 3% and called roadside assistance. James from Mike Slauson Automotive showed up and told me that I could probably use the charging station outside the gas station. I didnt even see them because of the weather, and my gps didnt identify them because theyre new. James stayed with me as I hooked up to the station. He wouldnt accept my offer to buy him a meal. He just helped me because it was the right thing to do. Its Thanksgiving, and boy am I thankful that James came to the rescue!

Very rude service

Mike was fair as far as not charging me the days it was there. But what was not fair is that they gave you a four hour open window to get your broke down car yet the cops said oh you have 24 hours. Imagine my shock when it wasnt there and I had to search for it. And than was charged $750 for them to go about ten miles with it. I am disabled and on a limited income. This was very unfair and unethical. I know he has a business to run and I was not expecting anything for free. But give me a dam break!!!

Called AAA for a car not starting and the employee who came was great! Very friendly, gave my car a jump start, and reassured me it was not the engine, just a battery issue because it s that time of year. He was there within the hour. Definitely recommend

Having a female moment this morning at 6 AM did not know, but my car ran out of gas called. They were extremely helpful., willing and ready to come, also my shifter was frozen and they told me how and what to do to get it to unlock to move the car out of the road! extremely friendly and very helpful. Called AAA for a tow, and they sent this company. Was quoted 45 miles over the phone by Noah after giving him the pick up and destination addresses. Checking on my own gps confirmed that the tow would be exactly 45 miles. The driver, Dave, picked us up and began to drive towards our destination. I could see on the GPS that he had on his tablet, that it too said 45 miles. Immediately into the drive, he began using his phone and tablet simultaneously, causing him to constantly cross the double yellow lines. Shortly after, he dropped an antisemitic slur while telling a story about a previous customer, and to top it off, the other person with me is Jewish. About 15 miles into the drive, he turned off his tablet that was running the gps through apple maps, and made a comment about how the tablet was always acting funny. When his dispatch called him (Noah), the driver (Dave) told him the numbers were 55 and 18. He then began to talk about how the tow was 55 miles, at $4.49 a mile. After we mentioned that we were not only quoted 45 miles and had confirmed it via our own GPS, he began telling us a story that he had to use the route that AAA sent him, because AAA tracks him, and it was definitely 55 miles. The driver not only insulted us by telling us the man giving the quote over the phone doesnt know what he was doing, but that Google maps AND my own eyes that saw 45 miles on his own GPS at the start of the trip were all lying, and that he was right. Even after proving it to him by showing the exact route we had taken was consistently 45 miles across multiple GPS apps, he refused to admit that he made a mistake. We asked to check via his odometer reading, however he doesnt mark that down at the start of the tow. Its obvious that he pulls this scam often and has lots of stories and excuses to try and make it seem like it is the fault of AAA and the way their system works. Once to our destination, we didnt want to argue, and agreed to pay the demanded price in cash. When we asked for a receipt before handing over the cash is when it got really interesting. He immediately called his boss in a panic about what to do about us demanding a receipt. After some back and forth, the driver reluctantly and sloppily wrote us the receipt stating the pick up and drop off locations with the (false) distance of 55 miles (minus 3 free miles granted by being a AAA member). Apparently giving recipts for services rendered isnt a standard practice at this company. There will definitely be a case opened up against this company with AAA, and I will be reporting to NYS department of taxation and finance. Absolutely disgusting behavior on the part of the driver, and sketchy billing practices on the part of the company. These guys are running a predatory practice taking advantage of people, and I would never trust them with a vehicle under any circumstances ever again.

James was SO helpful yesterday when we got stranded with our boat trailer halfway to our vacation destination. We were incredibly stressed and frustrated and his calm friendly manner helped put us in a better spirit. James even went out of his way to stop so we could gas up the boat, get it inspected for the lake and launched. What a hero.

Waited 3 hours for AAA to send someone to fix flat tire. Once we were assigned to the correct AAA office, Slausons was there within 10 minutes. Dave, the operator, had our tire changed quickly, in the rain, and with a smile on his face! AAA will get 1 star.

I crashed my truck and my brother-in-laws boat/trailer on the Thruway, 125 miles from home. Not a standard tow or situation since the boat was launched down the expressway. Mikes crew came out and was very professional. They were there within 15 minutes! They tried whenever possible to save time/money, look out for my safety, and protect what was left of my vehicles. Mikes crew leader was very attentive to safety and stopped twice to make sure my truck was still safe to drive. In addition, considering how much work he put in, Mike provided a VERY reasonable bill. Last, Mike provided professional experience and helped me figure out what to do with the wrecked boat and trailer once it was in his yard. Thank you Mike Slauson and Crew for excellent customer service!! I would highly recommend them if you need a tow in eastern/central New York.

Geico sent him through roadside assistance, he was very very polite. He came fast and had my car loaded up within five minutes and it was off! Highly recommend working with him.

Have used Slauson Towing twice now and both times they were very quick to help. Very attentive and nice to work with.

DO NOT USE THIS TOWING COMPANY!!! The dispatcher is very rude, will ignore your calls and leave you stranded. My car shut down on the New York thruway with my sick one year old son in the car around 11pm at night. My car insurance contacted this company to service a tow and told us to call them for any further questions. When I called I asked if it was possible to pay for the towing over the phone so that I could get my son somewhere safe. I did not have an attitude and I was very polite, the dispatcher spoke very rudely and instead of listening to my question he immediately cut me off and said he would do us a better service and cancel the towing. Understanding that the dispatcher was agitated for unknown reasons I tried to reassure him that I was in understanding of the requirements to pay over the phone and that I could comply. In the middle of my sentence the dispatcher hung up on me and ignored my calls for the rest of the night. If you are stranded this tow company will leave you. If you want to be safe in an emergency DO NOT CALL THIS TOWING COMPANY. If it were possible I would leave this company no stars.They are a terrible service and I seriously urge you not to use this towing company for your own safety.

I had to use them twice in 1 day, one for my broken down car, another to tow a very difficult customized 87 Goldwing motorcycle and they were absolutely amazing!!!! I 100% recommend them!!

This is the worst service ever! We called AAA at midnight for a tow we waited 4 and a half hours cause they were short dispatcher told my mom she could leave n come back since it was taking so long . So my mom is 5 min away after mikes got there and he literally said he would wait and literally pulled off and left us there. AAA worker hung up on us 6 times and ignored the rest of the calls and never sent help! 0 stars wouldn t recommend to anyone

Honestly had one of the smoothest, most helpful, timely, and kind responses to roadside assistance. I was parked in a scary, small shouldered zone off the interstate with a blown radiator and was quickly aided by James and brought to a safe location. Couldn t ask for better service. So grateful. My fiancé and I and our 2 dogs broke down in middle of the night on the side of the Mass Pike in the middle of a 4 hour drive from New Hampshire to Delhi New York. James came to our rescue with in an hour of the initial call to our insurance company. Not being from the area, we asked to be brought to the nearest gas station. James gave us the list of gas stations near, and all the possible risks if he left us at any of those places. With the tow yard just 2 miles further, we all decided it would be safer for him to take us there, where we could wait for a friend to help us the rest of the way. James then opened the shop for us to use the bathroom. And of course my fiancé had to get a look at the race car they have in the shop. We cannot thank James for being so kind and courteous.

We got stuck way out in Hoosick Falls these guys were there in 30 minutes it was pouring rain the driver was great!!! Thanks!

My car suddenly lost power while driving on the New York Thruway on a dark evening as a snow storm was rolling in. As a single woman driving alone, this was a very daunting experience. Slausons towing company was called and they were there in minutes. The driver kept me safe while on the expressway, was very courteous, and towed my car, delivering me home with instructions on how to proceed. I am extremely grateful for their kindness and fabulous service!

Mike showed up on the NYS Thruway after my tire blew out. He was our hero! Polite, professional and well priced service. It was 95 degrees and he let me and my friend stay in the vehicle with the air conditioning on the entire time. He faces very difficult circumstances with cars whizzing past at over 80 miles an hour. Can t say enough good things about this company.

Had to use my AAA this evening, and I have to say, it was great. Our towtruck driver Chris was the best! He let us ride along with him to our destination and we laughed the whole 40 some miles there! I would recommend this establishment 100%! Keep doing what your doing Chris, youre truly one of the good ones!

Were out of staters towing a bow when our axel snapped on the highway. Out of our element we used AAA who refered us to Mike Slauson auto because AAA doesnt handle boats. James showed up super fast and handled our situation like a pro but the real differentiator was after we got towed to there yard. James and Steve went out of there way to help us scope out the parts and get back on the road in a few days. The candid and straight forward attitude was a huge relief. Huge shout-out to James for going above and beyond.

This company was called through my AAA and was supposed to tow my truck for me, the guy asked me for my photo ID so I ran into my apartment to get it and when I went back outside he had left and left my truck in the middle of the parking lot. If I could give 0 stars I would. I waited almost 2 hours for my truck to be towed and now have to wait all over again for AAA to send someone else. I m very upset and displeased with the service.

Best towing service in NY! I live in Texas and my daughter is in Troy, and Mikes Towing helped us two times with quick, polite service. As a Dad who is 1500 miles away, I trust Mikes to make sure my daughters car is well taken care of. She had a flat in Sept and they flat-bedded it to Mavis Tire; In Feb the low coolant warning light was on, but the hood was stuck (ice?) shut. James in dispatch quickly got Tommy and his truck on scene, and Tommy was able to raise the hood and service the coolant on the spot and get the car back on the road. Instead of a full towing charge, Tommy just asked for a $50 service call and saved me a lot of money. Mikes is my GO-TO service when my daughters car needs assistance.

They arrived at the schedule time that I was given when I first called. The driver was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. He had my vehicle up and out of there in no time.

Used this towing service for a local tow to a garage and back they were excellent did not even need to be there for them to pick up and drop off very happy with the service.

Tom and squirrel took good care of my car when I backed up on a guardrail they got my car off the guardrail without causing any more damage to my car.. they took the time to adjuster situation and they worked together to get my car off the guard rail..

Was stuck with a flat tire, Onstar and Chevy Roadside Service were useless, kept me waiting for over two hours. Called Mike Slauson Automotive, who had fixed a flat for me before, and they got there right away. Super nice guy! Im so relieved and thankful that I had their number! They have a driver that is very obnoxious rude and possibly a racist they are criminals and even call your phone and harassed you with unknown numbers. What time they called AAA on us in the night are tow because we didnt want their service we wanted an independent contractor besides them they are trying to monopolize and control people

Both the tow truck driver and the receptionist were rude and disrespectful to me and my father. I had contacted AAA about getting a tow for my lowered car that is on air suspension, even though it goes up to stock height, the driver didn t even bother to get out of his truck, but instead says I m not towing your vehicle because it s lowered. I have never had an issue with companies that AAA uses until now. Completely disgusted with their business practices. AAA shouldn t do business with them. The driver said to call another company, and then abruptly left. Unacceptable and a disgrace of a company. 10/10 will never recommend or attempt to do business with them again. If you re looking for a tow, go with literally anyone else.
