We were in dire need to have our car’s ac system repaired as my pregnant wife of 7 months had been driving it around during this hot summer. Smiths was able to quickly get our car looked at. They also worked with our car warranty provider to get the repairs completely covered. The whole time they were very communicative and kept us current on their progress and anticipated completion. We got lucky to find smiths and would definitely take our cars back here again!
Very rude man at the desk Skip 70 years old. I know this because he yelled it at my boyfriend and I out of the blue "I am 70 years old and I know trailers" he was talking over us and not letting us finish telling him what we needed. It was close to lunch time and he just didnt want to deal with customers. I believe he also caused damage to the trailer by forcing a hitch adapter that we couldnt get to fit onto the trailer. After he did that brake lights wouldnt turn on. Deeply regret coming here. Dont deal with grumpy Skip especially if he's hungry!
Skip and his team never disappoint. Very friendly and explains things thoroughly. Plus they charge reasonable. Couldn't ask for a better garage to take our cars to.

Needed my fuel pump on my 05 Saab changed out. They brought me through the whole process and explained everything. Skip (the owner) is very nice and they dont push things on you. Very professional and never condescending, they never talked down to me or pushed my questions off like other car shops do. I will definitely be coming back if I ever have car troubles again! 5/5

Called for tire info, and the owner was right on it!
My husband went in ten minutes to five and asked for a flat to be repaired. The owner was beligerant and refused, it was almost closing time. My husband and the owner did discuss the bad tire & the owner suggested he could order tires and call me in the morning since my husband was working. They also discussed putting a good tire in the trunk. By 11:00 am I still havent heard from the owner and drove over. He said the tires did come in but his guys couldnt do the tires in 45 minutes before they went to lunch. We discussed I could return at 1. I did return at one. I instructed the owner to put the left front tire in the trunk and put on two new tires. The owner took advantage of me being female and clueless, and left the bad tire that was loosing air on the back right. Im guessing likely so we would have to quickly return to get two more tires. The owner knew which tire was bad and did not fix the problem. What a very crooked shady way to take advantage of a woman who had no idea which one was bad. Talk about poor customer service and not being professional. We will not be returning there ever, he cares more about his pocket than his customers that could have been loyal if he wasnt so crooked.

I have had my car at this location on three occasions now and I have been impressed and satisfied each time. The guys at this shop are polite, timely, and do the job right. I have received images of the parts that need to be fixed, detailed information on the condition of my car, and explanations as to how the repairs were done. This shop does business with honesty and integrity and gives a solid warranty to stand by their work. When I leave Smiths Automotive I feel reassured that my car is in good working order and that the job was done right. I highly recommend them to anyone in the Capital Region who is looking for a honest and high quality auto body shop.

I have taken my 2001 Lincoln Town Car and 2010 Nissan Pathfinder to Smith s for repair. They are knowledgeable , honest and stand by their work. Skip is very thorough and he and his mechanics check the cars out stem to stern. I would highly recommend them. I am a repeat customer!

I was taking my car to Smiths before Skip was old enough to work on cars. I admired his fathers work and stayed with them after his father was no longer there. Theyve satisfied me with all that Ive asked of them. Ive never made a comparison as to prices, but the quality of the work and their willingness to cooperate in every way leaves nothing to be desired. And thats over many cars and many years.
