I came to aamco they towed my car went to gunhill aamc I left in my Bluetooth speaker in car and an air spray sanitizer. Gone. Called and said they will ask the guys. You know the answer from there. Be careful leaving valuable stuff in car. It will be gone and not getting anything back!
6000 for a rebuilt transmission ford fusion se AND guaranteed for 1 year at AAMCO. Found out I could have saved 2745 and had it guaranteed for 3 years ! If I went to the ford dealership! How crazy is that. Then when I was about to pick up the vehicle I was told the day before I own another $789 out of pocket WTF ! This transmission wasn't supposed to cost over $6000. Like I said before..I went to ford to make sure the transmission was done right at AAMCO. I asked ford this ran me a bit over $6000. And only one year warranty. Ford said we could have saved you $2745. And 3year warranty. There should be a law. AAMCO has this plan where a loan company give you the loan to get your transmission fixed but in 5 months you pay off the total of what you owe or all that interest free will pile up and accumulate will be added to your balance! And if my calculations right just about $8000! Well I'm keeping a close eye on my transmission even if it skips one little gear or a slight sound going back to Aamco.
Mailen and Barbra where both great with communication they made me feel like I was in good hands from the beginning to the end. they where very understanding of my situation and helped me every way the possibly could I would recommend this auto repair to anyone that wants good customer service and a quick repair !
I sent the car to quote the repair of the transmission, the diagnosis would cost me 180 + VAT, and if I do the repair it would be free. Which seemed like a fair deal to me. The mechanic's diagnosis was to change the entire transmission for a reconditioned one, this job has a one-year warranty. The price was $4,800. For a 2010 car with 145K I don't think it's worth the expense for that amount. They did not offer the option to have the transmission repaired or the option of a new transmission. I decided not to do the job. My surprise was when I asked for the written report of the quote, they told me that there was no written report. That the computer does not give any code because the transmission was previously overhauled and did not read the codes. The check engine light was on and that light gave some type of code. I know that for a fact. Why do they lie to the customer? Any decent auto shop in NJ will provide a written vehicle damage report so the customer knows what needs to be fixed and to define repair priorities. Basically these guys charge $200 to diagnose a rebuilt transmission shift with no further explanation. I don't know what gears were failing. Why does it have to be a transmission change and not a repair? The explanations for why they don't write a report are absurd lies. Membership of the AAMCO chain with this way of doing business is unacceptable. Stay away from these guys.
Irene was so sweet and let me know they will keep me informed of the cost and time it will take to fix my car. She was so nice, and I know they were really helping me, because I had been through it before but, I had never received such sincere updates and truthful aspects of receiving a whole new transmission. They never even charged me for the fixing of the terrible service, I had received prior to coming to them. I am an English teacher, not a mechanic, so, I felt incredibly lucky I found this shop in Passaic. They are hardworking, kind and honest. Plus, my car is like new again! I feel very happy with their services and I will return if I need too. Hopefully, not!🤣👏
The current boss is incredibly knowledgeable, extremely fair and very honest, won't try to claw more money out of you and will do his best to give you the best price he can, went in with an issue, was shown the issue and was explained in detail why it was happening, issue fixed no more problems with that part of my car, I will be back should I need anymore major work carried out. A few years ago in April of 2016, my family was returning from spring vacation in NYC in our 2002 Toyota Prius, and the engine kept stalling on the highway and we kept having to pull over and wait a few minutes before it would restart again. Eventually, we had no choice but to take the New Rochelle exit. We stopped at an auto parts store to ask for a local recommendation for our Prius, and they recommended AAMCO on Main Street. Just at the light before the shop, it stalled again and my wife and daughters jumped out and pushed the car the last 15 yards into the AAMCO lot before I could put my foot out! Chris and Marco were there to help us that day, and they quickly diagnosed that the problem was the hybrid motor coolant pump, but they had to overnight the part for the next day. We got a hotel room nearby, went to a movie, and ordered late checkout at the hotel. AAMCO got the part and installed it, and we were good to go, all within 24 hours. They were also super reasonable on their pricing and took really good care of us. I really appreciate Chris and Marco, because we were strangers from out of town, and if they will work that hard to hustle and help us, I can only imagine how well they take care of their friends and neighbors in New Rochelle. If I lived there, I would totally go to them for anything that I needed to fix on my car. Great job, guys! Keep doing what you're doing.

Scam shop, Never go here I stopped by for a tune up once, and this shady dude tried to convince me I need 8k in parts and labour Wanted me to buy 2 brand new cats, and a bunch of other parts Dont even let them use the dnog they will 100% lie

No one there for my appointment. There was a mechanic that told me that the person in charge was not there. I waited to at least be called for person to excuse himself. My car need it to put an analyzer to check if transmission had a problem or something else.

Milan I m sorry to say my car isn t doing well. After picking it up I drove to Shop Rite and CVS. I didn t get on the freeway. Came home and parked it. No problem. Last night I drove to work taking Shore Dr down Pelham. No problem sounding good. This morning I returned the same way. No bumps no freeway. It started sounding louder. No quiet hum. When I parked in my garage I noticed a trail of water where I d pulled up and backed in. I went to the front and on the passenger side reddish brown fluid was leaking out of the right front end. Looks like transmission fluid. Of course I won t take it to work and am wondering if I should even drive it to your shop in the morning. I didn t hit any bumps or even drive it fast. I work from 7-7:30am. Please leave me a msg. Thanx. No response yet.
Was asked to pay over $2000 and the same problem was fixed by my car dealership for less $300

My girlfriend called to ask for a quote on 1 axle replacement and she has the new axle, the guy said it was 175 an hour, 3 hour minimum, and was making her feel uncomfortable with how he had no idea how cars work.

EDIT: I was charged for an oil change when I did not request one. Oil was never changed, almost caused catastrophic damage to my engine. Please do not bring your car here. I question whether the new owner / manager, Frankie, is even a licensed mechanic. You can bring your car there for one thing and once you go to pick it up, it has many other problems that were never there when you brought it in the first place. They will charge you for things like oil changes without your permission and then argue that it was discussed. Their main selling point is to give people the run around and to confuse customers instead of being completely transparent. Bring your vehicle here at your own risk. The new ownership is terrible.
I had my transmission done by the great team at aamco as it was a pleasure and no headaches as got the good price and the work was done before the alot time that was plan as highly recommend them as to the skill level of workmen ship and the quality of service. As it may be cost of the labor and time but they can do magic with you ride ... All I can say bravo.

My wife and I were on an extended driving vacation in mid-August when the transmission in our full size Ford van began to act up while in Manhattan. By the time I nursed it in to New Rochelle I knew it was toast. The good news is that I found the AAMCO store in New Rochelle was only 4 blocks from the hotel we stopped. The next morning I called Marco at AAMCO and told him the problem and he told me to bring the van in. I took the van in a little after 8 oclock on Wednesday morning and Marco and his employees got to work on it. They got the new transmission and torque converter delivered on Thursday and by 5 oclock that afternoon had it back in and the van ready. He actually kept the shop open a few extra minutes to allow me to walk to the shop and pick it up that evening. We are back in Texas now after a meandering 4000 mile trip home and the transmission has performed flawlessly. Thanks to Marco, Chris and the rest of the crew at the New Rochelle AAMCO for getting my wife and I back on the vacation road much more quickly than I thought possible and at a very reasonable price.
Chris is a knowledgeable mechanic. He explained to me what was wrong and his mechanics repaired it . Im satisfied with their work .and Ill see them in two weeks .A GREAT PLACE TO BRING YOUR VEHICLE FOR REPAIRS .. the shop is as clean as a Dealership.

Always going that extra mile to make your car a wreck. Do not bring your car their at all!! The Managers Chris and Marcos are nothing but con artist. They talk a good game when you come in and once you you give them the approval to fix your car you are screwed for life. They lie about everything to make you keep coming back. Theres people are NOT licensed mechanics and when I called them on it. They refused to fix the problems they created. Please read all other reviews and Its best to pay the extra money at the dealer because you already know that when you leave with your car from the dealer you can leave with a peace a mind and know you wouldnt have all the problems of AAMCO and Chris and Marcos the con artist. I am in the process of taking these people to court now because they do not do clean honest work and rip off anybody that comes through those doors.
From the time I walked in the door I got a good vibe, the way everyone who worked there came in with a smile and they even talked to one another with so much respect. I brought my car into the shop and Chris ask me what was wrong but what got me was when I said who I was Chris remembered everything we talked about on the phone and he said dont worry we will take care of you and thats just what they did. These men are professionals at what they do and I am truly happy with the work and service they provided. If you are in Westchester N.Y. take your vehicle to Aamco of New Rochelle on main street they will treat you right because they sure did treat me very well. Thanks Guys!!!
My transmission started slipping while going over the GWB on my way to a College ID soccer camp. I was in full panic mode with my 15 year old daughter in the car. I limped along in 4th gear until I found this Aamco location in New Rochelle. Chris took my car in quickly, and got me a rental car in minutes, and had us back on the road, we miraculously made it to the camp on time. Even though I decided to trade my car in instead of fixing it, Chris was great, he explained all the available options to me and provided a very competitive quote (I confirmed with my dealer) with a good warranty. He held my car for 2 days also. He really helped out during what was a very stressful situation for my daughter and me. I would highly recommend this shop based on the character of the employees and management.
I just had my Hummer H3 there for a re manufactured transmission and Chris and the rest of the guys went above and beyond in repairing my truck. Chris was fair and did his best to keep my cost down.. Thanks guys
The manager, Chris, is a criminal!!!! I now know you must always get a written quote of all actions to be taken on your vehicle and all total fees! He gave me a quote of 500-600 to perform a job. He took over a month to complete the task but I did not mind at the time because I figured it would be done well and I had the time. But when it was all said and done, he stated the bill was 1200!!! How is that possible. He stated diagnostic cost was added, but that should bave been stated before doing any work and informing me that is an addition to the total quote and not something I should have known about. And then has the nerve to tell me it is pocket change, the difference in cost. NEVER GO TO THIS SHOP, HE IS A STRAIGHT CRIMINAL!!!
I regularly go to AAMCO in New Rochelle to do all my car repairs, not only are they great, but they do excellent work. The price is very reasonable compared with others. I refer all my friends and family to this place.
After reviewing the previous reviews I can only assume that this AAMCO is under new management. My experience was positive. Chris provided an estimate of repair for a particularly difficult air conditioning repair (blown out evaporator). I am quite certain it took longer than he expected but he honored the original estimated cost. All aspects were handled professionally and with respect. I expect to return for further service.
WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! MY CAR WAS STALLING SO I TOOK IT TO AAMCO TRANSMISSIONS IN NEW ROCHELLE, NY. I WAS TOLD THE SENSORS WERE CLOGGED. ONCE THE OFFICE MANAGER, JESUS, FOUND OUT I HAD A WARRANTY NOW MY TRANSMISSION FLUIDS ARE CONTAMINATED. MY WARRANTY COVERED $2000 AND I PAID $2000 TOWARDS A $4,895 SERVICE. AFTER HAVING MY CAR FOR TWO WEEKS THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND I WAS TOLD BY JESUS THAT THE REBUILT TRANSMISSION AND TORGUE CONVERTER WAS FAULTY. AFTER WAITING FOR ONE MONTH FOR THE THEM TO UPHOLD THEIR WARRANTY ON MY PARTS I HAD TO TAKE THEM TO COURT. I WILL WARN YOU, MY TRANSMISSION WAS NEVER CHANGED. THERES NO WAY YOUR FLUID CAN BE NORMAL AND CONTAMINATED AND I WON MY CASE. THE TRANSMISSION THAT I HAD ON MY CAR I STILL HAVE 1 YEAR LATER. ILL PAY THE EXTRA MONEY AT MY DEALER BEFORE ANOTHER PRIVATE MECHANIC TOUCH MY CAR
