Joey has been working on Transmissions, differentials and all facets of automotive since he was a teenager. Not only does he Pride himself on work ethic and delivering quality products and results to his customers, he is always up-to-date on the newest technical advances and modifications. Being said they also Bills race cars and work on anyting that has gears and an engine. Whether you have a 1955 Chevy or a 2022 Corvette Joey and his boys at Certified Transmission do not flinch. The absolute best transmission shop around. They have rebuilt several transmissions and differentials for me and my company. My personal car my antique car and my work trucks nothing that Joey and his crew worked on ever had to come apart again. What more could you want

If you want honesty and expertise, this is the place. This shop has both an ASE and ATSG certified technician. Tom, is an absolute pleasure to work with. His 39 years of experience made me feel so confident and at ease. Our insurance wasn t covering half of what needed to be done but he worked with us and my Jeep Cherokee is driving again with no imperfections! He replaced the torque converter housing, pressure transducer, pump, flat and spin on filters with all OEM parts, and even used Mopar transmission fluid, not those aftermarket dextron IIIs with no proof of legitimacy. Thank you so much Tom. We appreciate you so much. You have our business for a lifetime.

Great experience! Nobody wants to bring their car in to get fixed! So its nice when you take it somewhere and the shop is profession, friendly and above all provide a great service! I was told to bring my jeep in to them by my regular mechanic who wasnt sure what the issue with my truck was. Turns out my front driveshaft was shot. Tom is friendly and explains everything. From diagnosis to repair they stayed in touch and gave me an excellent deal and my truck is better than ever. I absolutely recommend them for any drivetrain issues. Thanks guys. So at first seemed like a fair set up. After months when it should ve been a couple weeks tops and waiting for this special part nobody had finally was complete. The price was a little higher but I don t mind supporting local people and spending more as long as it s good quality still. With all that said it was not good quality. It was absolute trash for a performance transmission . It was supposed to be built to handle the extra power but it was built to not even last 10 miles. The high end parts I had paid for well at least 1 major one was exchanged for Chinese knock off junk which failed right away and confirmed by another local transmission shop that s known for performance ones. Do not recommend to anyone

If you pay for something you want it done right the 1st time. These guys are friendly, knowledgeable and professional. They built an OD transmission for my 71 Fury , its been about 6 months & its held up great. They built it right the 1st time , no complaints at all. Wouldnt hesitate for a second to recommend a family member ,friend or bring my next project to them.

There is 3% charge to use a credit/debit card. My trucks transmission quit. Family recommended Sun Wave. Sun Wave referred me to Certified Transmission. I called and spoke with Tom who told me I could bring it in the morning. It had to be towed. (Ill do a 5 star review for Adirondack Roadside Service and Rons Auto soon.) I have been in touch with Tom on a regular basis getting updates. The first transmission delivered to them by Ford was the wrong one! He took care of that, and the correct one was delivered this morning. Even just over the phone, I know Tom is doing everything he can to get this truck back on the road. He is courteous, has good sense of humor, and talks about the transmission, hoses, and other parts in a way I understand. He gave me a breakdown of parts and labor costs. I am looking forward to getting my truck back and hitting the road!

This organization does things professionally, and follows all the rules of parts procurement and workmanship. Yes it was a pain having my wife drive me to work for 2 weeks, but it was well worth the wait. I called at least 14 times for a status, and Tommy answered the phone on the first ring, EVERY SINGLE TIME!! You dont see that kind of dedication anywhere, anymore. My 2004 Grand Cherokee with 186,000 miles finally gave out pulling into my parking space at work. It had no park, reverse, or 2nd gear for about 6 months. I was just going to junk it eventually, but then I started thinking what would I get for $2500??? I called them, and they sent a tow truck the same day. Most of the time was spent waiting for factory parts internal to the transmission to arrive. I also asked for other items to be replaced late in the game, and they gladly did the other work. They promised that I would have the truck back before a major snow storm on Thursday. I picked the truck up Thursday at dusk when there was already 4 inches of snow on it and I had the most awesome 4-wheel drive experience driving 15 miles home! Lol Thanks guys, every single element of the transmission is working perfect, and the 2-year warranty makes me sleep like a baby at night! Bob from Ronkonkoma

I spoke and dealt with 5 different transmission shops regarding an inherent problem with the transmission on my tacoma. Tom at Certified was the only one who wanted to diagnose and fix it correctly rather than just replace parts and get me out the door. Cant recommend them enough.

While here in Patchogue from out of town , my truck/Tahoe began to have issues shifting...... We asked around and were immediately guided to Certified Transmission Repair 192 Waverly Ave in Patchogue NY...... I walked in and was greeted by Tom (manager) then introduced to Joe (owner) , they assured me they would take care of us....... The next day they called and my truck was ready.........it seemed after 135k miles the clutches in my automatic transmission had become worn and were slipping....... I tell you what, I cant remember if it Ever felt this good driving it ! Thank you Tom and Joe for your Terrific Service and Professionalism.... Worst shop I have dealt with my entire life. Brough my 1993 Jeep yj for a clutch service. Mechanic gave me a 2 day time frame and quoted me on parts and labor. A week goes by and nothing is heard from shop. I call for an update, and nothing has been done. Another 5 days goes by and mechanic tells me nonsense about a seperate issue that is causing him to not take the transmission out. I have a strong background in fixing up my own stuff and what he said was attempting to gouge me for more money whilst he hadn t even begun to do any work at all. I called and asked for my Jeep back and he told me he would call me back in 5 minutes. Nothing for the rest of the day. An absolute joke this place is in business, leaving me without a car for two weeks +.

I have a 1970 Pontiac Lemans and when I started to have issues with the transmission I took it to Certified Transmission for an estimate and repair. Tom was very knowledgeable, friendly, and professional, a real pleasure to deal with. Tom fully reviewed the estimate with me and explained all the repairs and associated costs. The transmission was rebuilt and the clutch assembly replaced. Tom kept me posted on progress. The car now drives like new. I highly recommend Certified Transmission for any transmission repair you may need especially if you have a classic car.

Certified transmission repair I took my vehicle to have a transmission leak issue addressed I was told by the owner that it may need to be bleed.he had my car for four days.called daily.he said he was waiting for lift.i went there on the second day, no at the front desk.opened the shop door,there it was an unoccupied lift .call later that day same story.on day four called in the am.same story. Im familiar with mechanical work. I told him a lift was not needed to bleed my transmission that the slave Cylinder was on the firewall it can be bleed on the ground. I am a business owner and I understand customer service. This man is opportunist that Thrives non mechanical members of our societee. He is a con artist.Scam alert dont bring your car there.I never write reviews. I felt like I had to do something didnt want this repair shop, Taking avantage of a hard working people.

I have no use for this place.worse transmission shop Ive ever incounter.I asked what was the best day for my truck to be seen. I was told a Tuesday so I drop off before they opened.Truck sat there till Friday then seen after 2. Picked the truck up Friday night Sunday morning leaked again. Took a look at it and black rtv silicone all in the bolt holes. Good job guys

Joe has built many 350 & 400 turbos for my self and a lot of friends in the race scene never had weve had a problem with his work or these units holding up we put his units behind some pretty stout motors weve sprayed a few small blocks into the high 9s using a 350 turbo. Hard working honest gentleman highly recommend talking with him about your next build
