I am extremely disappointed with the service provided by the East Greenbush Mavis Discount Tire location. This experience has been nothing short of frustrating and unacceptable. What Happened: I placed an order for three tires in advance, paid a deposit, and scheduled an installation appointment. Despite assurances, the tires were not delivered on time. I waited for hours on the day of my appointment, only to be informed that the tires had not arrived. There was no communication or proactive follow-up to resolve the issue. Over the course of two weeks, I repeatedly called the location, corporate office, and the regional manager (Tyler). Calls were often ignored, and when I finally got a response, I was given false promises about finding and delivering the correct tires. Ultimately, after being misled multiple times, I had to request a refund and arrange service with another company. No meaningful resolution or discount was provided, despite assurances. Why This Matters: I am a professional consumer with a high-end vehicle that requires specialized tires. This location failed to provide the level of service or accountability expected for such a significant purchase. Their lack of communication, poor logistics, and unprofessionalism were unacceptable. It reflects poorly on the Mavis brand, especially compared to the excellent service I previously received at the Kinderhook location. Key Takeaways: East Greenbush Mavis displayed a complete lack of organization and customer service. They wasted my time, left me without proper resolution, and ignored my concerns. Great Service I am at the Mavis in Rensselaer, I was here last weekend and today and there was no heat in this office

Had a 2pm appointment set for a tire rotation hoping this would save me some time having to sit there and wait as if I was a walk in. 3 hours of wasting away in the dainty waiting room that doesn t even have a functioning water dispenser and they finally take my car for the rotation which took all of 15 minutes. The only reason I m not leaving one star is because I found out the tire rotation was free which is what I suspect caused me to be the last to receive service despite dozens of people coming in and out before my car was looked at. I d rather gone somewhere else and paid if I knew I was going to waste the rest of my day off in there.

a small but bad aspect of the recent visit. Mavis sold and installed four new tires. When I got home I realized they mistakenly included a $10.00 tire recycling charge. (No tires were recycled.) I called the location and asked them to issue a credit to the credit card, which they wouldnt do over the phone. To collect the refund/credit I was owed due to their mistake, I had to drive back to the location. (Not a huge amount, but its the principle of the thing.) Wrong. Because it was their mistake it would have been more appropriate, and correct, for them to spare me the effort of returning to the location to collect the refund.

It has to be against the law for these workers to have to work without any heat. It is freezing here, I am shocked. Standing in front of cash register freezing. Even the worker has their winter coat on. The heat thermometer in on 85 but its maybe 45 degrees actually in store. Mavis should b ashamed of the themselves for treating its workers and customers like this.. I giving four stars because Joseph rocks did 5 car before my car to the 2 cars the other guy did

The service took a while and after leaving i noticed they stole something from my vehicle. I called but they claimed they didnt and simply misplaced/lost it.

Noones trained, not their fault, and availability is pretty crappy. Especially since pretty much every Mavis is missing an inspector. This company has no cares for its customers or employees....Just as long as they get money in the register. Maybe try Monro or something, but dont try Mavis if you value your vehicle. Apologies in advance to the few capable employees Mavis somehow manages to keep on their payroll.

They were kind and attentive to not only me, but to everyone that walked in while they were experiencing system issues. I highly recommend this location - you dont see service like that today.

Lloyd at the front desk has horrible customer service. He refused to acknowledge my roadside warranty for a tire purchased late last year and did not offer much help in finding it. His tone was abrasive and rude. His attitude was very nonchalant. He was not willing to help. When I ask for a printed receipt of the transaction, he told me he could not print it. I called another Mavis who not only confirmed my warranty on the phone but assisted me hassle free and printed my transaction in which I was previously told could not be done. My receipt also reflected the purchases of the warranty. Lloyd was also very unprofessional by curing in front of customers by using the F word. . He could value from customer service training. I will not be spending any more money with Mavis!

Went in for a quick tire removal on some old rims. Dude had the old rubber off in less then 10 mins and I was on my way. Good group of guys

I had a confirmed reservation for NYS inspection on 7/30. When I arrived, I was told the inspector was gone for the day and that he had a day off the following day (7/31). I made an appointment for 8/1, which was once again confirmed via email, but when I arrived, I was turned away again, even with a confirmed reservation, once again. I was told they already did 15 inspections and were pushing their limits. When I asked who I should be talking about such an unacceptable service, I was told: Mavis. When I asked for a phone number, I was told to Google it and was wished to have a good day. I will never go back to Mavis, even if it requires me to drive 100 miles for service. This was unacceptable by any standard.

Was there on 8/2/2024 to get a tire rotation and alignment. Josh & Lloyd were both great. They explained my alignment to me and showed great customer service. Will recommend.

Everyone here is very personable and I enjoyed their humor and conversation, they were able to fix my tire despite being very close to closing and they let me know some other work that needs to be done but I felt no pressure from anyone. The guys there are great! I popped in without an appointment and they were able to fix my wobbly, clunky car. It took a couple hours and it was quite costly but Josh was honest about the time, and he was able to get me some discounts. He even got my credit line extended so I could pay interest free over time. They will even take you in and show you things as they find them and take the time to explain. It was really hot out but the mechanics kept chugging along, and for the most part seemed to be in good spirits. I could hear them laughing and singing periodically. What a good environment! Thanks for squeezing me in!

Worst experience I ever had. Had my inspection and brakes done in the same day and on my warranty receipt they put I was 10,000 miles above what my car was at, so when I went to get it fixed under warranty they tried to say I couldn t because I drove 12,000 miles over the limit when they actually just scammed me 10,000 miles. Good thing I had my inspection done same day, they can t lie on that. Anyways brought it back and they told me that there was bad parts on my car was going to cost 1,200. I got it fixed for $30 somewhere else. Never coming here again!

Updated: just had another great experience at Mavis- the staff is great to work with. Tyler was incredibly helpful with my car today. I had several issues throughout the day related to new tires I had put on this morning, two of which ended up being manufacture defective. When I discovered my rear tire was completely flat, several hours after I picked my car up and called him right around closing time, Tyler actually drove to me to fill the tire and then drove me back to the shop to look it over where he discovered the pin holes around the rim. This was after they had technically closed for the night. He went above and beyond to help me and I m so appreciative. He has helped me out in the past as well. I cannot speak highly enough about him.

The team here is excellent. Every time I come in with a new issue or regular maintenance, theyve had my back. Ive been here with 3 cars and its always been as speedy as possible. I love these guys, and I highly recommend checking them out.

9am appointment for a state inspection. Took an hour and a half to inspect a 2 year old car with 10k miles on it. Was told the dmv has a certain time frame for inspections. Wanted to save time by not driving to the dealer but i should have as this took longer and cost me double. Staff was friendly though.

The staff were all very polite, knowledgeable and helpful. As well as fast, efficient and affordable. We will most definitely be back!

I was this place 2 weeks ago to get two new tires replaced and state inspection. My appointment was 9:00 and done by almost Noon which took 3 hours . While they were changing the tire, the guy came to me and told me that TPMS sensor not working needed to be replaced costing $70 . I told the guy that I was here to get tires changed only. Nothing was wrong until I got here . No sign at all. I was not going to pay for it. And he told me that he wouldnt put the sensor back . You would have to come back for that Sooner or later. I was so disappointed about it . Even they installed one tire wrong side also. Took too long than necessary. Now it is shown that there is TPMS sensor errors which makes me annoying. I was there just for tires replaced and state inspection only. They tried to charge me in any other way. This is not really nice kind of scam.

Popped in with a slow leak on a tire that I did not buy at Mavis. Told me it would be 45 minutes to get me in and it was less than 10. And I was out within 15 minutes. They put air in it, could not find a leak, replaced the valve stem. Sent me on my way. No charge. Awesome service

Took 2 hours to replace one tire. I get my keys back, go to my car and notice they replaced the wrong tire. Instead of replacing the almost flat tire with a noticable gash in it, they put air in it and replace what was probably the best looking tire on my car. 3 hours to replace 1 tire when you have an appointment is just absurd.

Great customer service. Ive gone here several times. This last time after buying 2 tires, one started going flat after a few weeks. I called them and brought it back the next day. I had a bad valve stem. They fixed it in under 30 mins and didnt even charge me for it! Not to mention the great deal they have on the tires I got. Under $70 each with like a 70k mile warranty

So I went with trying the appointment what a joke. I got here and was told that the inspection I need was a first-come and the appointment is bull so I wont waste any more of my time dealing with this Mavis .

Just like the Monroe right next to them, if you have an older vehicle or big truck they try to make up all kinds of excuses to not work on it! The excuses they used were nonsensical & a clear indication they didnt want to work on it, just like Monroe next to them. I drove my 88 K5 to their shop and as soon as I walked in, before I could even say hello, the service representative says to me, sorry my technician said we cant work on that. They tried using excuses like it wont fit on the lift, its too tall, theres no way to get it on the lift correctly! I laughed and said Im not asking you to replace the engine, all I want is a simple tire balance on these 33 tires. Then they said they were booked for the day and half the next. I said its fine Ill leave it here and pick it up in 3 days, should be more than enouh time to do a 30min tire balance job. I said, you have a floor jack, if your techs dont know how to setup a truck on a lift then they can jack up one corner at a time and balance the wheels that way. They let my truck sit there until an hour before closing time on the day I was going to pick it up 3 days later. If I didnt call to tell them I was coming to pick it up it wouldve sat there another day without being worked on. As I got there they were just pulling off the first tire. Tried to give me another excuse why the balance weights wont work on crome rally rims and grime/rust build up on the inside. I said so use your handheld wheel grinder with wire brush I see sitting there, as is standard for tire shops, and clean it off so the sticky weights work. I was a service tech for years, we took everything that came into the shop but apparently today these alternate shops avoid anything that involves actual work. If you have a vehicle they deemed difficult in their eyes they wont even attempt the work. This was the fourth time bringing vehicles to this shop. My wife has a 2017 vehicle weve brought there and they couldnt find a small nail in the sipes, lied about patching it, TWICE, charged her both times, and never actually fixed the leak. We dealt with refilling the tire for a year until getting new tires. There was not a single drop of bead seal when they took the old tires off the rims and I found the small nail they missed, on top of no plug ever being present in the tire they patched, so clearly they lied. The only reason I didnt give these guys a 1 star is because they actually worked on the vehicles, albeit not very well. Id still recommend bringing your vehicle elsewhere.

I have had my vehicle into this Mavis a few times and have been extremely satisfied with the service I have received. I have been fortunate to deal with Josh each time I have been in there and he has been very helpful in explaining what the problem was and how to rectify it. The guys who have worked on my car have done excellent and unlike some of the other shops in the area I have never had to return to fix something that was neglected by the mechanics. Just went back for a tire with a problem on it. They quickly diagnosed it and fixed it before my coffee cooled down enough to drink it

On December 24th on my visit to family my car failed to start and AAA towed it to this nearby Mavis location. Davonte was terrific. I explained that i had a three hour journey home and needed to get the car checked and situation rectified. He evaluated the vehicle and it was(inexplicably) able to start. Davonte checked the battery, oil and starter and sent me on my way. No charge. I would gladly frequent this Mavis because of Davontes kind heart. You should too.

I did and they took the car right in and found the nail and plugged the tire for me. Every employee that I dealt with was super friendly and it was super quick. I highly recommend this location. And I would come back here in the future.

I ve come here a number of times for inspections and tires. Typically service is efficient. Today, I made an appointment for an inspection for 8am. I arrived early and checked in. The inspection took over 4 hours to complete. This is unacceptable for an inspection. I also note that others were served ahead of me, who did not have appointments. I unfortunately will no longer use Mavis because of this.

Terrible customer service and poor quality workmanship - I purchased new tires that were defective. The worked who sold me the tires said that s what I get for buying that specific brand. I said so you knowingly sell brands that are commonly defective? He had nothing to say to that. My brakes had also been done there and were not adjusted correctly. My car did not stop and almost caused a collision in the Mavis parking lot. The worked did not think that was a big deal.

I must say I have been going to this mavis for a few years now. Josh and Devante are great. They take very good care of me and my vehicle as well. They have never steered me wrong with anything I may needed done and or thought I needed done but really didn t. Meaning they don t try to sell you something u don t actually need and for the most part I m usually in and out no long wait time . I trust them 1000% with my vehicle and always feel safe on the road after they take care of what needs to be done. I will continue to go here until This place ever closes down(wich I hope doesn t ever happen). Thank you guys for taking such good care of me when I come in.

Absolutely ridiculous. We had a 9am appt to have tires put on. At 1030 they wer just taking the car back. They wer taking walk-ins before scheduled appointments. Its noon and wer just now leaving. Whats the point of having an appt if the staff completely disregard the scheduling. 3 hours for something that should have taken an hour, tops. Iv literally never had a good experience at any mavis.
