Dodged a bullet with this place. I had low oil coolant levels and they couldn’t figure out what it was. After 4 hours of “inspecting it” they said my oil cooler was failing and oil was by passing the coolant. They still didn’t explain why my coolant level was low but they said this would fix it. I’m a DIY’r so that didn’t make sense to me and didn’t give me the confidence. They said they could replace the oil cooler for $1000-$1300. I said I’d think about it and walked away. I went to another mechanic for a 2nd opinion, and they said my water pump was leaking which is what was causing low coolant levels. He showed me the leak. Oil cooler was fine. I got the job done with the other mechanic and the issue is resolved. Now imagine if i went with this shop and got my oil cooler replaced and still had the issue because it wasn’t my cooler, it was my water pump lol. Listen to people who leave reviews here. They won’t steer you wrong. This place is sketch with a bunch of young guys learning how to work on cars ***In response to what they replied to, “do your research”, the attached pictures here does not look like an oil cooler failing or leaking. That is clearly the water pump right above the leak. For those who don’t know, that circle thing is the water pump and that pink fluid is the coolant. The picture shows coolant leaking out of the water pump. Again listen to these comments and be careful when taking your car here. They clearly don’t take accountability for their misdiagnosis. Imagine them working on your vehicle.
They fixed my car but they’re not trust worthy. They told me they don’t take card so I had to pay cash. When I paid cash I asked for a receipt and they said I would get one later. I’ve reminded the guy multiple times and still haven’t received it. This is very suspicious because if they did work they were confident in then there should be no hesitation to issue a receipt and take responsibility for the repair. As an update: Do not bring your car here. The repair they performed failed (lower ball joint) and I have never received a receipt. I have to pay to get the work done again and who knows what could have happened on the highway if this thing gave out.
Did an AMAZING job replacing my battery for me in MINUTES. My battery died in my driveway and they came to assist immediately after contacting them. I had bought the battery and they installed it so fast, my car was ready and i was out my driveway in less than 10 minutes! They have raised my standards for auto repair experiences. This is the only place i will visit from now on!
This is a great place for car repairs. Right away that I get there in a Saturday to fix my car Jai thoroughly examined my car and in a couple of minutes he knew what was the issue with the car. He explained me in detail and in a way that I was able to understand about what was wrong with the car and how would be the process to fix it. He comply with what they said that the car will need to be repaired and they returned me the car on time. The car is doing very well and I am very pleased with Jai and the shop’s staff professionalism, respect and responsibility during the process of fixing the car. I definitely recommend Richmond Auto Repair and transmission (RART)For me, they would also be the place to go for any further issue that I may have with my car in the future. 5 stars to them. Really great location! Got my oil changed today, the technicians were very quick, thorough and answered all of my questions. Even stopped by the deli next door to grab a snack while I waited. The whole process was very quick and easy. Definitely reccomend this garage!
I strongly advise against bringing your car to this shop. My experience was nothing short of a disaster. They kept my car for three weeks, and every time I picked it up, something else was broken within minutes of driving it. I had to return five separate times, and each time, they claimed to fix one issue only for another to appear. They even got me two parking tickets while the car was in their possession, which is completely unacceptable. Their lack of professionalism and knowledge is evident—they’re clearly experimenting with vehicles rather than fixing them. They initially told me fixing the transmission would resolve everything, but then tried to charge me an additional $4,000 for more supposed problems. On top of that, they caused my alternator to fail, forcing me to replace it as well. My car came out of their shop in far worse condition than when I brought it in. Save yourself the stress, time, and money by avoiding this place altogether.
Over Labor Day weekend, I noticed that my Mercedes was leaking fluid, I went to Richmond Hill Auto Repair and Transmission because the business had received very good reviews. This was the Sunday of Labor Day weekend. Alvin took a look at the car for me and said I had lost a lot of transmission fluid. He recommended that I should not drive the car and he offered to drive me home. He was able diagnose the problems, get the parts and somehow get the car back to me by Wednesday morning even though it was a holiday weekend. I thought Alvin and his team were professional, he kept in contact with me and his price was absolutely fair for the work that had to be done. Based on this experience I would highly recommend this shop and Alvin for auto repairs.
After someone hit my car they fix my car for me good so I ended taking it again when the second time I hit my car 3 different minor spots a. I took my car for estimate I was told they will fix everything for $1000. I also got same estimate from someone else but I took it to them because they previously fixed it good. I trusted them. I got a call from him saying he can not fix the dent but fix everything else for that price I had no choice to to agree to it because I was going to Virginia I couldn’t take my car in that condition. I was so angry when I picked up my car there not only dent but the paint was not fix and the paint job done was so horrible on my expensive BMW. They just run a marker on the dent side to hide the scratches which I could have done my self. He said to bring it back he will fix it the run down paint job on rare end of the car took it back they made me wait forever while I had my twins crying in the car when he saw I was leaving he came back looks at my car I asked him how much additional to fix the dent he said he will talk to his boss and all and he never called back. I am not taking my car back to this dishonest place.
Terrible I brought my wifes Mazda 3 here to replace an issue with my intake manifold they replaced a sensor a week later same issue they held on to her car for 3 days no update just call you tomorrow constantly and when my wife got upset and confronted him he acted as if she was ignorant when taken to a different mechanic it looked like nothing was changed as all parts looked over 10 years old with wear and tear when confronted he deflected and said I know nothing about this game even though I had pictures and videos, when asked to print invoices for my lawyer he told me contact the owner he just work here and walked away terrible people

Excellent service, I have a Honda Odyssey and I always bring my car to this place for oil and brake changes, they are excellent at their job, they also changed the seals on my engine and it was a very professional job. I recommend them whenever I have the opportunity.
DO NOT GO HERE !!! very unprofessional and they were working on my car for 3 weeks. Every time i came to pick it up, something new was broken and within 10 minutes of driving it I had to come back and they had to hold it for another day or few days. I ve never experienced such a mechanic. They gave me my car back in worse condition every single time !!!! THEY ALSO GAVE ME TWO TICKETS WHILE HAVING MY CAR
I m never bringing my car here again. They don t know what they are doing and just play with peoples time and money. I was baffled at how bad the service was. Do not go here under any circumstances!!!!! My car did not get fixed and they wasted my time money and patience.
Brought my Jeep Cherokee to be fixed for the motor mounts on November 2023 and when it left the shop it still had the check engine light on and I paid him $1,500. I could not get my vehicle inspected nor registered this year and therefore it was towed away to impound!! Now a friend of mine brings his truck to get fixed. He wants to charge $2,200 and the check engine light is still on so he won t be able to inspect or register his vehicle either.

Ive been here once for oil change and they did it fairly quickly. I came back to change my alternator. Although the first time they put it in, the alternator was faulty so they put a new one in without any additional charge and it drives fine. If I have any car issues, I know who to go to. If your in the area and need your car fixed, this is the place
Alvin was incredibly understanding of my concerns. Despite immediately identifying the origin of the burnt oil smell my VW was having, he went out of his way to show me that it was not a problem with the transmission fluid, as I had thought. Explained every step of the way and even threw in a little discount for being a first-time customer. Absolutely would recommend.

In a workshop, a thief is of no use, steals customers, damages parts and then fixes them.
People, dont do any work in this place, they are scammers, they take away good parts saying they were damaged, I took my car to put new brake rotors and pads that I bought at rockauto parts so they told me they would charge me $ for each piece, it would be a total of 240 for the 4 of them I said ok, they told me to leave the car for 4 hours when I return to get the car they told me that the axles are leaking grease that was impossible because I had changed them 2 months before They broke the rubber themselves.
I highly recommend this shop. I went to different shops around queens paying shops to figure out why my car wasnt starting right up. Alvin has a solid team that did their diagnostic and figured out my fuel injectors were bad on my 2006 toyota tacoma. I will be returning for repairs in the future. Glade I found a shop that knows what their doing.

Quite frankly one of the most honest mechanic shops in queens. I came in for an oil change and Alvins crew advised me of an oil leak, turns out I needed a valve cover gasket replacement, no wonder I was losing oil every other day. Im happy they were able to fix my car and get me back on the road 10 out of 10 service.
If I can give 0 stars, I would give him negative stars. This guy has absolutely no idea what he s doing. I came in with my car, for a simple inspection. He started talking to me about new throttle body , my catalytic converter , along with other words and phrases that when I went home to google didn t exist. After an hour or two of going back and forth over what I need done, I finally got him to JUST do the inspection, I go to the store up the block and come back and my car is in the car Jack, tires off, and a guy with a blowtorch under it. At this point I was absolutely furious, I go to talk to the guy and he blames it on the worker, which I m almost sure had no clue. I insist that I ll just leave and after 30 mins my car is off the Jack and I go take it to another mechanic, only to find out that the THIS mechanic had done some things that are irreversible. I will be contacting my lawyer for further course of action. STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS!

Don t even waste your time here. You re never gonna leave the shop with just the issues you came in with. Just prepared for that phone call that your car is not ready because of parts, other issues, and basically just trying to get more money out of you. I ve been here 3 times and I can t understand why I ever went back after my steering pump hose change. Shoulda been just a leaky hose, and turned into a bad pump, pulley, and more. Save your time and money. Go somewhere else.

I brought my car here for some transmission work. The valve body and transmission cooler line had to be change. I have driven the car for some time and it is running smoothly. I am quite pleased with the level of service I received.
I had a check engine light issue for my 2001 Honda Prelude that I was suffering with for months that kept me from renewing my registration. After taking the car to different shops and each of them advising me to change various switches and sensors. I took it to the shop for a diagnosis. I was told they would let me know the issue within 3 days. I dropped off the car and instead got a call back a hour later with a diagnostic, issue and quote for repairs. My car was then completed in less than 5 days no check engine light and ready for inspection. I will definitely be returning with my other cars when needed.

We were very grateful to have our engine coil replaced on short notice, a few hours before closing, on the day before Christmas Eve, when we had a trip planned. $350 might have been a bit much for a Hyundai, and we were not given a receipt.
I feel like they charged me little bit extra.but I didn t have complain about it because if it was that expensive then they have to take that amount. But I am not happy for other thing that I wanted to pay by card they said machine not working so they sent me to a store atm to get cash for them and said atm will take 1 dollar fee But I had to pay total 13 dollars fee And I didn t get my receipt

They dont even look at the car properly. Kept changing one part but the problem was in somewhere else. Took it to a different shop and fixed for $300. Also charged my buddy way too much for a car check up and guess what after 1 week all sort of problems started although they said hes car is good as new.
I own a RX 330 and I had a transmission seal issue. I went to two other mechanic places on Liberty Ave and they wanted to rob me. One place wanted $80 just to assess the issue and another place was already saying that it would cost between $500 and $1000!!! Anyways I looked up Richmond Auto Repair on google after that and boy oh boy these guys are the real deal !!! Alvin looked at it and quickly assessed the issue (without charging) and the car was taken care of in a matter of two hours. It cost me a small fraction of what the others wanted. Alvin and his crew are first class!! Ill be a customer for life after this experience !! I IMPLORE ANYONE IN THE WHOLE QUEENS AREA THAT IF OWN A CAR AND ARE HESITATING to take your car to a place because you dont trust them or worried about being overcharged well dont worry, take it straight to these guys. I felt so comfortable with these guys (and they will give you family prices). I never write review but I had to this one time because I hate dishonest car repair places and there just seems to be too many of them out there and thats why Im really swearing that FINALLY I FOUND A PLACE THAT BLOWS the COMPETITION IN PERFORMANCE, CLASS and ETHICS. SO ... After taking your car to Alvin and his guys you will never look anywhere else ever!!! I promise you that. Please visit these guys the next time you have a issue with your car.
