My experience with this business is that if you take with you the part you think you need replaced they will test the part because they will not sell you what you don't need. This clearly shows the integrity and professionalism that is hard to find now a days. I highly recommend this business because they are a pleasure to do business with.
The guys at United Appliance Parts were terrific and very customer friendly and helpful. I was struggling with a DIY project to repair our 20 year-old wall oven where the bake heating element had failed. I opened up the oven and discovered a broken wire, which I tried to replace. After spending half a day looking all over town, I found United Appliance. They understood my problem, sold me some certified appliance wire, and even crimped two connectors for me. After I re-installed the wiring, the heating element still didn't work. I called United Appliance and they confirmed they had one heating element in stock, which they held for me. They asked me to bring the old element along to confirm it was the right one. Once there, they tested the element and determined that it was corroded, but not burned out. I kept the old element, cleaned it and re-installed it, and it worked fine once I rechecked the wiring connections. Thanks to their help, I avoided buying a $50 heating element, and managed a DIY repair for $8.96 in parts cost. Many thanks to their generous help and advice!
I called the store to ask about a replacement belt kit for a washer. Rich was kind, courteous and even placed the part on hold for me so I could pick it up in person. I would absolutely recommend this store to anyone needing replacement parts for their appliances
My father went here for 15 years, ive been going for at least 25. This is an extraordinary outfit. They know everything here! Very frank and honest and will never steer you wrong. So wonderful to step inside and feel the gratitude, warmth, and ability to assist from an era long, long gone by. A very principled, family-run orginization. If you do not go there, it will be your loss.
This is a great repair shop. They had the parts i needed in stock. My dishwasher is over 20 years old; and he had the part in stock. For 10 dollars less than the on line place i was considering buyimg from. I had originally gone there for a dryer belt( which was also less than the on line place). I had ordered it originally on line. But after 9 days without the part i needed to get the dryer fixed. It was an hour trip for me. The mail order part came late that day.. i had already installed tested and done 2 loads of laundry by then..a good place to buy from. The guy knew his stuff. Thank you for everything..ill be back if i need parts.
The staff at United Appliance Parts are very knowledgeable. The experience here is like an old time hardware store where the staff actually know what they're talking about. I have yet to come in for a part they didn't have in stock (while I am sure some rare parts they don't stock). If you need help figuring out what the part is bring it in (with the model number of the appliance of course) and they will find it. Highly highly highly recommend!!!

I did not go here but my dad went here for parts for our fridge, he said the people were very friendly and helped him out! All around very nice business.
I had ordered a new $700 fridge from Lowes after my Amana side by side blew its relay and stopped cooling the fridge/freezer. Being that it was 4th of July weekend the fridge wouldnt be delivered for another week. I couldt wait that long, so after some DIY encouragement from Youtube and a phone call to this shop I was able to repair the fridge myself. I regretfully did not get the shop owners name, but he was able to verify the part over the phone and I drove from Albany to Schenectady. My trip may have taken longer than the repair but it was 110% worth it. He was so pleasant and offered additional prevention tips.
I have a 20 yr old Kenmore HE3 dryer with a broken heating coil. They had the part in stock. They even tested my old coil to confirm it was broken. I was able to repair my dryer same day because they had the part !

Over many years of calling and talking / dealing with UAP they are 2nd to none in my opinion no one is better period. 99% of the time the part I need is stock and cheaper that anyone else including from online retailers. They are absolutely the best hands down.

Good place for new parts (no home service ) and they know the parts your looking for. BEWARE you buy it you own it ....the part even if not opened CANT BE RETURNED so do your homework before you pull out your cash or credit card.

Called about a part I needed. Gave them the part number and they quickly located it. Best thing is they suggested an aftermarket part that was exactly the same as the OEM and saved me $60. Stopped over that afternoon, picked up the part and installed it that night. Works great.
