I brought my car in to have diagnostics and an inspection. They found and fixed the problem, and did the inspection! Brian is personable, and very friendly. I will never use another garage for my repair and basic needs!!!
Brian and the guys at Burns auto are the best. Add an automotive issue on Friday and have the car towed there. I really didn't expect them to get to it that day as they were very busy. Brian told me he would get to it Monday. And at 10 after 8:00 he had already had the estimate written up. Is price was fair and he is a man of his word. I would highly recommend him to anyone I know.
Yesterday while out on my lunch break, I ran over something in the road and it slashed my tire. I immediately heard the hissing sound of air rushing out of my tire. I quickly looked up nearby garages and drove to Burns Auto Center. Once there I went inside to see if they could help me. The owner stopped what he was doing and came right out. He was going to plug the hole but he discovered the gash. He put my donut on and said he could order me a tire. I wanted to give him money for his time but he refused. Thank you soooo much guys for making a bad situation not so bad! 😊
I never leave reviews for anything, but it feels like a crime not to praise Brian and Burns Auto. Only place I would ever recommend to anybody without any hesitation or doubt. Brian will always take the time to answer any questions you have and make sure you are leaving with a job done right.If you want to go somewhere you won't get ripped off and get excellent work, Burns Auto is the place to go!
I have been a customer for over 25 years. During my last appointment for an oil change I parked in front of the bay, not realizing I was blocking a car already in the bay. Brian came out & started screaming at me to move. The oil was done and when I went to pay Brian , still visibly upset, said no charge and don’t come back. My response was “ that’s some way to treat a customer of 25 years”.I have often thought why that happened and the conclusion I reached was during the height of Covid , Brian nor his employees were wearing masks. After leaving I called the shop and politely asked if masks could be worn. I truly believe that Brian was anti mask and did not appreciate my call. I’m 76 years old & thought that was a reasonable request.
Brian is honest and reliable! Being a woman it’s not easy to find a good mechanic that won’t take you for a ride! I appreciate his honesty! And he and his team always do a great job!
Burns auto!! I can’t say enough good about! His work is of the charts and quality like not one other company I’ve ever dealt with. And His pricing is as good as his work!! I own a Plumbing Company and to have another business man understand if one of my vans are there ,the company is not making money! The vans are in out as efficient as you could possibly want! The most unprofessional and toxic “business” I’ve ever encountered in all of Schenectady.They will tell you that you owe a fortune on a synthetic oil change and inspection ($104) after charging half that the last time you went there. You will call them back to confirm that price and the guy named Brian will accuse you of having a “snotty attitude” if you catch him at a busy time, just for asking to confirm the price and simply asking why a state inspection and an oil change costs so much, he will immediately raise his voice at you and call you names if he’s in a bad mood. He’s coward who will only attack you over the phone. This is the second time this has happened to me with this “business.” The first time was when I was driving a PT Cruiser with a rotting frame that I knew had serious issues so I brought it into this shop as it’s close to where I work the day before a scheduled state inspection just for the next day for him to say “it’s a miracle you made it here alive.” Which confirms to me that the car wasn’t looked over in the slightest, but he sure was mad at me for “catching him at a bad time” after agreeing to look the car over that same day. The next day that car failed inspection and now has been scrapped for parts. He’ll get mad at you when you respond to him in the same tone for simply asking a question on the price and accuse you of you, the customer of being the one in the wrong while raising his voice at you over the phone since he’s too much of a coward to say anything to your face. Then if you give him enough back of what he’s giving to you after him being the first one to raise his voice in the first place, he’ll accuse you of being the problem. He will also say that “we know there’s nothing wrong with your car so we’ll automatically pass the state inspection for $20” even when you say that you are doing the inspection early due to concerns with your ride. This is also an illegal way to conduct a state inspection. And if you give him the same attitude that he gives you over the phone, just for asking a simple question, he will deny you service outright, and even leave your keys in the car, which can leave your vehicle open to theft. This is the only garage in Schenectady that I’ve had this experience with and I recommend everyone who values the actual safety of their car to stay away. I would give a zero star review if I could but it forces me to leave at least one. Stay away from this place and “go somewhere else” as he so kindly put it over the phone. Edit: so this guy calls my mother after losing the argument that he started over the phone which is ridiculous as I am a grown man who lives independently in Albany. The only reason I kept going to this joke of a business is due to its convient location to where I work. Well after I explained to my mother what actually went down this guy lost two customers who had been going there for years. Also I would like to add that I took my car to another mechanic closer to where I live in Albany and he said that the sticker they gave me was way off and that I had next to no oil in the car when I should’ve been good for another 2000 miles. Last time I brought the car there after my tire exploded I asked for more oil, which I did not get. My car engine is also now shutting off mid drive, but he knows “that nothing is wrong with my car” right? Well it did not pass inspection and needs over $800 in repair now which makes me question if he actually ever did anything to maintain my car except over charge me for everything for doing NOTHING. I should’ve stopped going there years ago when he flipped out on me over bringing the PT cruiser there which he said on the phone was ok at the time.

A friend of mine referred me to Burns,I had an olschool Caprice that needed some work,that my usual mechanic wouldnt do,due to it being specialized work,I brought it there,Brian was professional,the price was reasonable and he double checked,to make sure things were complete.Brian is old school,he believes in doing things,the only way they should be done...correctly!I will be getting another Caprice,that I want the DOD remove,as well as a stage 2 cam installed,and I couldnt think of a better place to bring it to,than Burns...thanks Brian!
Brought car in on a friends recommendation for oil change , broken heat shield bracket , inspection and brakes . Brian and Tony were awesome from the minute I walked in the door ! When I picked the car up I was told the brakes looked good still and was very happy to hear that . I am very thrilled with their honesty and will be bringing my other cars to them in the future! The owner Brian is absolutely amazing. Super smart, very very nice. Went for an inspection. I will definitely be going back to him whether it s for inspection or if I need stuff done to my vehicle, if I could give him 100 stars, I would!!!

Gotta say never met a group of such kind gentleman , My car broke down and i pulled in there lot by coincidence but not only did they allow me to stay there until a tow truck could arrive, they were kind enough to lend an ear and help me get an idea of what went wrong with my car . I Appreciate your generosity lads !
Absolutely terrible. I would not recommend going to Burns Auto Center. Me and my family have gone here for years. My grandmother took her car to burns who said they didn t have the parts to fix it. To which she said can you order them and he said he couldn t find them. We look at advanced auto parts and many other auto stores and they all had them. When we told him we could go buy the parts if he could replace them, he started using very rude language and tone with my 85 year old grandmother. We then switched to a different auto center, they saw that the filter has not been changed in 6 years and was dangerously filthy, tire quality and build was terrible, and so much more. The cars now suffer from permanent damage. The cars inspections from Burns get absolutely nothing. To save yourself money, time, and your car I suggest never going to burns. If you already go to burns I suggest stop somewhere else and get an inspection. See what you re dealing with.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Been bringing my car here to Brian for years to get inspected. Just passed inspection last month and my breaks are sqeaking and need to be replaced. How does one pass inspection with bad breaks? Breaks do not deteriorate that quickly! So I called and made an appointment with him last week to get new break pads on. Show up there today, and now he doesnt do just pads, I would need new rotors too without even looking at them first, which is gonna cost over $700! If youre looking to get ROBBED, this is the place to go. Stay clear.. robbing people just to make an extra buck.
Called needed a small part replaced, got an appt the next day, was given a decent price and car was ready in a timely manner. Would recommend Burns Auto for sure.

Needed brakes and rotors also was having a problem keeping the car running come to find out there was a short due to a misplaced fuse lower ampage then should of been . Great job very respectful. Plan on using again. .

Have been bringing my three vehicles here for the past few years and always have had good service and had an appointment this morning and received a phone call from Brian before my appointment saying that he can no longer service my vehicles because wife wont let him. Not the business I thought it was. Will be going to a more professional auto center.

I dont and wont trust any other shop with my cars. I refer them to anyone that asks for suggestions. They are quick to test my car, always call with updates to let me know what is wrong, if they find anything else wrong in the mean time, and let me know what needs to be fixed and what can wait a few months so I am not overwhelmed with a huge bill. Their prices are great compared to other places Ive priced things out in the area. If you want quick, reliable, trusted service Burns is the place to go.

Back in 2008 I had shredded a tire in the middle of the night and this was luckily the first parking lot I was able to pull into. It was a Friday night and I left a message explaining the situation. First thing Monday morning they called me back, offered to fix it, gave me an estimate and had it done in a very quick and timely manner! I have had my cars towed to them quite a few times and have had them repair everything from tires to brake and engine problems. Each time their pricing was very far, they explained exactly what they did or were going to do and if they found anything else that needed to be fixed they always called letting me know what it was and with an estimate before just going in and fixing it. This is the only garage I will go to now. Brian and his team are awesome.
Always great honest service. Brought my truck to them because I was hearing a noise. They didn t find anything and told me so. Brian did tell me though that I will need struts soon but I had some time.

This place is awesome! I brought my Tundra here for an oil change and inspection. The truck was in and out, no upselling. Brian is honest and trust-worthy. The next day I brought in my Prius to have a rear bearing/ABS sensor replaced. Again, he was honest, explained the issue, and offered a resolution. Pricing is very fair as well. Fast, dependable, honest, and local. I will continue to bring all of my vehicles to Brian Burns at Burns Auto Center!
