I would avoid them at all costs. I used to be a regular customer until couple of days ago. Everytime I went to them to fix something and after taking my car, something else happens. The last straw is when I took my SUV for flat tire, Midas replaced tire. On the next day, the other front tire went flat too. Now I need to replace it too. Seems like it is their tactic to come back.

I came in with a failing alternator and battery. They got me right in took care of the problem and sent me on my way. I havent been to Midas in probably 20 years but I will definitely go back.

My son took the car for a flat repair. He was told it could not be repaired (possibly true) and then quoted a very high price for replacement and install. My son felt pressured to consent. When I called the location, the manager did not deny the price was high but agreed to provide price match on tire & install but insisted that it be printed on paper. After sending my son back 4 times for revisions, he finally approved the price match on the tire but not the install cost. Throughout, the manager had a bad attitude. I would never go back: High prices and attitude.

My last time here, I didn t have an appointment but needed a quick tire service and they had my tires delivered, put on, aligned, added an inspection and done in an hour and 20. Left unsatisfied. I was told to stop in a 4P for a re-inspection. Arrived at 3:45. The manager acknowledged that I was there. At 4:30 I was told that they were short on bays, have a seat, they will get to me shortly. At 4:45 I was told to come back tomorrow. They were too busy to hook my car up and complete the inspection between then and closing (6P). Not happy.

Absolutely the WORST auto repair shop Ive ever visited. First experience: they forced me into buying new brake calipers my vehicle didnt need. Lied to me about it. Had to fight like hell to get a partial refund. Today: stopped in for a simply NYS inspection. Manager told me it would be only a few minutes. Over two hours later they finally pull my vehicle into the shop. THEN tell me its too heavy for their lift. Idiot read GVW on door sticker for unladen weight. Manager doesnt know the difference between unladen and GVW. And while there I witnessed him forcing someone to buy unneeded parts for someone elses NYS inspection. Stay away from Midas on State Street.

After checking several tire centers for pricing on checking out/ balancing the front end tires of our very recently purchased vehicle, I found Midas at 1597 State Street Schenectady to be most reasonable. After speaking with Kevin and describing how the car bounces at slow speeds (up to approximately 40 mph), Kevin advised me to bring the vehicle in and he would test drive the vehicle and advise us of his findings. Within moments of arriving, the vehicle was test driven, put up on a lift, front tires removed and placed on a machine where his findings were confirmed. After showing my husband the brand new tires the small dealership we purchased the vehicle from are out-of-round, Kevin provided my husband with a print out of the problem to bring to the dealership. This is not the first time and I hardly suspect it will be the last that I have been satisfied with the services provided from this Midas location. Thank you again Kevin for your honesty.

They were able to fit me in for NYS inspection at the last minute! Fast friendly service. Waiting area and restroom were nasty and clean. Will definitely use again. OMG! JUST SAW THIS. DARN AUTO CORRECT. AREAS WERE NICE AND CLEAN!!

My daughter had an inspection done and asked the crew to place the sticker. The tech agreed and came back out to report he had done the replacement and she gave him a $10 tip with her thanks. When she arrived home, she realized the new sticker was not replaced and still inside the envelope with the paperwork. When she called the manager to explain, he told her that the tech was standing right there in front of him and said he never agreed to replace the sticker. Had a appointment at a specific time . Waited 35 minutes for the car even to get inside the garage. Then I was there for a hour and 45 minutes for a inspection for a brand new car .

I got a reasonably soon appointment to do the work, it was started on time and finished on time so no complaints. Like many repair work currently parts are hard to find and the cost of Labor has gone up since COVID.

Went to go and have my truck inspected. They told me that my tie rods would not pass and that it would be over $700 to fix it . I told them truck runs fine and I have had no issue. I refused the service and took it to another business where they inspected the truck and found NOTHING wrong and passed the truck. I would not recommend using this business as they are out to rob you of your money which as we all know during this pandemic money is not easy to come by .

Needed an inspection really bad. I had trouble due to my own complications to find the place but was treated with so much respect when having to call three times and was helped to find them. Thank god for that! Then when I got there was delighted with how great the whole transaction process was to get my car inspected. This place will definitely be number one on my list to go to for any of my car needs. I appreciate and thank everyone there.

I had been out of state when my NY state inspection came up for renewal and was trying to find a shop that would do it ASAP as I needed my car for a work trip that week. I was brushed off by several shops or told that there was a 2 week wait but when I called Midas, they assured me they would be able to help. I asked if they would be able to take me that day, as soon as possible and they were able to fit me in mid- morning. They were so understanding and helped me feel at ease immediately. The staff was very friendly and the process was quick and easy. I plan to do business here from now on.

We came to this business for ten years. At first they were great. Good work, qualitatively done and at a reasonable price. Now however, things have changed. Brought my car in April for an emissions code. They fixed it, for $500. 1 week later the check engine light came back on. Brought it back. Witnessed the staff arguing heatedly with another gentleman for the same exact problem. He had brought in his car for a check engine light, and it came right back on again and again. We still had them complete the service a second time. However, the check engine light came on AGAIN, not even 6 hours after having been in their shop. Emissions is an environmental issue, as well as an expensive fix in a tight inflated economic time. Every time this code came on, it was the same exact code. The service man argued that they kept finding new things to fix, but how did they miss it when they ve inspected it more than twice, and charged me $500?? As other people appear to be having the same issue, and publicly, I have to imagine they re charging inflated prices to do little to no work, and then have you return again and again. Every business eventually declines and degrades. Sadly this Midas no longer has the golden touch. Stay away for the safety of your wallet, and yourself and your loved ones on the road. UPDATE: we had the car inspected by a 3rd party mechanic. He confirmed that absolutely no work had been done, and the car was still in disrepair. Stay away from this location.

Terrible experience. Paid over $500 for work that was supposed to fix my car, but instead the issue has persisted. I took my car to another mechanic and they said it didnt look like any parts were actually replaced. Avoid this business like the plague.

I tried to work with Kevin today, 6/19/23. He started out ok but then the whole thing turned into a negative customer experience. I have owned my car since 2011. I think the service tire sensor monitors can be run down by now, 12 years later. Kevin got mad at me when I did not fully understand what he said and he also insisted that my cars tires have to have 35 lbs per. I already had a service manager Ed DAmato where I bought my car @ Potamkin Cadillac in Manhattan tell me a long time ago that getting them filled at 33 lbs per is infinitely better particularly in warmer weather. I didnt need the rudeness arrogance + snippyness that went with my stopping by there today. I even told Kevin that I did understand how a possible previously done tire rotation wout sensors reset for the appropriate tire could also have caused an issue....but he refused to assist me further just to be sure each tire had enough air in it. To me from 32-35 lbs as my cars owner since 2011 ...even 31 when its cold. Mavis across the street was full but Midas, this particular shop was almost totally empty. Time for a new manager/management here?

These guys are great! Took us next day and got the car done when we needed it. Top notch and I didn t feel like they were talking down to me which is rare.

I made an appointment for a NY State inspection at 9:45am on a saturday. He said appointment for 3pm. Then proceeded to say they were running low on stickers and woukd call if they ran out. I showed up for my appointment early at 2:40 and was RUDELY turned away saying out of stickers, out of stickers. I called to ask why i haf been turned away for my inspection appointment and was again RUDELY told they used the last sticker for the inspection before mine. And still was not given a reason they over booked inspections if they only had a certain number of inspection stickers. VERY RUDE AND NOT TRUSTWORTY!! Will be reporting this business to the DMV to find out where all of their inspection stickers went!!???

Horrible customer service towards African-American women- over charged and never fixed my car issue.

The bathroom had no tissue or paper towel. The floor was clean but toilet was not. I was told they give no military discount until I showed them a code for it on my phone. I specifically told the tech NOT to replace the air and cabin filters and I see on my receipt they went ahead and did it anyway!

The manager will try to overcharge, and you will make up things like air filters need to be changed or wipers are bad all reasons to bring up your bill he is a scam artist and corporations knows about him and will not do anything about him because the money he steals from you goes in there pockets been to other Midas no issues but one on state street in Schenectady stay away from especially for inspection famous move is bring you in the garage if that happens to you while you there he about to rob you

Great transparency! My drive belt was very worn and they pulled it out and showed it to me. Another local shop passed me for inspection a year ago which means I was duped and driving around dangerously unbeknownst. Also, they have 6 month interest free finance options available for those who dont deal in interest but have an imminent car need. Also recently got well rated all season tires to prep for winter.

Everytime I go, I end up having to come back a second time in the same week because they never fully fix things. I will also NEVER understand why they schedule appointments just to have you wait 1-2 hours before actually being able to take you in.

Got new tires and an alignment, no fuss, no deceptive prices, no upselling. The associate listened to me and got me exactly what I needed. Quick work, too!

Excellent service was fast and knowledgeable able. They showed me the proablem which I thought itbwas something elese and fixed it all around both sides of the vehicle. My car is a whole diffrent car. The lounge was clean the coffee was good. Not sure what to say but I know Midas on state st,Schenectady NY knocked it out the park for me. My Car runs so much better.

I have a credit card for Midas/Mavis that allows me to charge car repairs, out them on a promotion & spread the cost over 5 or 6 months in paying it off. Midas, the State St Schenectady location, is across the street from Mavis. The E. Greenbush Midas store, ask for Dave, he is honest & works with people on the costs. I live in Schenectady , but my auntie lives in Watervliet, so if I need car repairs & I am visiting her there, I use the E. Greenbush location.

I had an appointment at 3pm, and didnt get out until almost 6pm. I was patient, and they kept on saying they were busy and shorthanded. The only other simple task I asked them to do was to check the air in my tires. When I got in the car, the low tire pressure gauge went on immediately. I went back in and spoke to someone who apparently was a manager; he said it takes awhile for it to register. Three days later, I filled my tires up and the light went out. My last visit to Midas. At least this one.

Went to have my inspection done service manager Kevin Bheem was awesome, I got my inspection done asap was in and out. I highly recommend them for service.

I got there around 10:30am, for car wont start. Car was left out in parking lot, the tech came out couldnt figure out how to put in neutral but turned on lights and radio. Hours later asked me to put it in neutral so I did. I also rolled up the windows they rolled down. People came in at 11, got told to come back at 1, others came in at 12 and so forth. They didnt pull mine in until 5, said it was the battery again they drained the battery. They than replaced battery even after I said it wouldnt start when jumpers to a larger engine with bigger battery with higher cranking amps. Again battery was dead do to there service tech. Car still isnt fixed, had to leave it there overnight because they drained the battery over a 6 hour period instead of diagnosing the actual problem, than said battery is dead. Of course its dead you cannot turn on the radio and lights for 7 hours and not have a dead battery. When they finally pulled it in they said windows wont work, yes they drained the battery.

Good place for car needs

Everything was perfect! My car was not safe to drive (muffler issue from a hit and run) I had to wait for parts to come in once they were in my car was worked on pretty quickly. Kevin was awesome! Great communication honest and friendly. My car is now safe again to drive thank you so much! I highly recommend these guys!
