I purchased a 4 year old Volvo from Precision Automotive in 2001 when my daughter was a 1 year old. That Volvo was easily one of the best investments I've ever made. Our daughter is now 24 years old and is still driving the same car. We have been a customer for service on our car for more than 20 years and I consider the folks at Precision friends. If you are in the market for a great car or SUV, I would encourage you to consider a Volvo. And to find your Volvo at Precision Automotive.
I had multiple electrical problems with my Volvo, these guys repaired it quickly and competently. Very fair price, and always keeping me updated on repairs. I highly recommend them.
A few months ago my Volvo XC60 would not shift out of park. Called the dealership and was told that I could have the car towed there BUT it would be 7-10 days before it was looked at! Called Precision, the saw the car right away, turned out all it needed was a little grease on the shifter! I am certain that if I had taken it to the dealership it would have cost me THOUSANDS! Wonderful quick, friendly service!
If you own a Volvo, this is the place for you. They fixed my Volvo XC90 that has been sitting for a long time. The were able to fix an oil leaks, fuel issues, service the transmission, update software and more. The price was good and when you see the shop and talk to the mechanics, you just now it's going to be done right. I was going sell my 2007 Volvo, but now that I found this place I'm keeping it. Best place to take your Volvo in the Capital Region, and possibly further! Dan the mechanic is reverent: polite, patient with the customer, and he's really into what he does! He is very knowledgeable, and you can ask him questions directly. They do it right the first time, not second or third! I have learned a lot about my car going here. The staff really seems to genuinely care about your safety and needs. They will come up with the best solution for your car, your budget, and you personally. Modified Volvo's are also welcome here. Sean was welcoming years ago with a free road test. I am someone who hesitates trusting others with my car, but this place has earned my business. Tabitha the receptionist also knows something about cars, I can't say the same for other repair shops. Also unique to this place, you can talk directly to the mechanics if you want to. Parts are usually in stock. They know what your car will need next! Good for older out of warranty Volvo's, classic Volvo's, and new Volvo's.
I towed my Volvo to the shop because it wouldn't run. Precision Volvo diagnosed the issue, fixed it and had it ready to go several days faster than expected. the car is running great now. Shame on me for not going to them sooner. Other repair facilities were giving me all sorts of diagnosis. Precision got it right! The staff on the phone were very friendly and helpful.
This is the best place for auto repair and maintenance in the Capital District. They specialize in Volvo cars but service all makes and models. Estimates are given prior to any work and if any changes are made they will contact you immediately before proceeding. Everything is in top-notch order the new location affords them the opportunity to service more cars quickly and efficiently. We have personally use this facility for our cars from simple oil changes too extensive mechanical work in updates. All estimates and prices are very economical and honest. I highly recommend Precision Volvo and Sean.
Shawn at Precision Volvo went out of his way to get us back on the road again after a breakdown while visiting the area. He expertly diagnosed the problem with our V50 and repaired it immediately along with a few other issues he recognized as problematic. Shawn never pushed any repairs, rather professionally explained the issues and acted on our direction. Our Volvo drives like a new car again! Reasonably priced, speedy service, top notch professional mechanic and customer service from the entire staff! We've owned Volvos for over 40 years and Precision Volvo has provided the best service we have ever received- THANK YOU!

I brought my sons car in to get it inspected. It was done within 25 minutes of my appointment time. The woman in the office was nice.
I was in town from out of state when my check engine light came on. They were able to get me in right away to check the code and were so friendly and helpful! Highly recommend for their quality and customer service!
They specialize in used Volvos service sales and maintenance kind of out of the way in a rural/industrial area between Western part of the Town of Colonies and Schenectady.

My favorite part about this place has probably got to be that when you call, someone actually answers the phone almost every single time or calls you back when they dont. If I have a question when I call them I can usually get an answer in under a minute flat and the woman who answers the phone is kind as well as knows many a thing in regards to repairs. All the work Ive had done there has gone well too (mainly software updates and hard-to-get parts). Also, their building / lot is getting pretty worn but I like to take that as a sign that they get a lot of traffic for their work which is good. Side note: I wont take a star off for this but I do wish they were better about tagging their craigslist car listings because a lot of their stuff gets tagged with older model designations so you get their newer cars when looking for vintage volvos.
Twice I have taken my Volvo there for service. They explain what s wrong in terms easy to understand and get the work done quickly. If you own a Volvo it s 100% worth the trip to get it worked on there.
I called to inquire about new tires for my 16 XC90. Lady on the phone told me okay, Ill call you back because I do not have the time right now. OK I said, no problem. Half hour later I called to check up if she got the prices but she got a little irritated for some reason and told me sternly that you have to wait. Never received a call back. I was seriously contemplating bringing my business here over from Capital, but not gonna happen. And I found a very nice deal on tires elsewhere. Lost a customer.

The best place around for all you re Volvo needs!! These guys take pride in their work and it shows! Dan and Sean in the back do a great job keeping my car running like new while Tabitha up front is super knowledgeable and goes above and beyond to make sure I feel taken care of. In June of 2019, I purchased the RE 2019 Himalayan from Royal Enfield located in Schenectady, inside of Precision Automotive. I worked with Ellis who was very pleasant at the beginning process of purchase. In July, I brought my bike in for its first service and returned to a $342.12 bill (see 1st photo of service breakdown). It was a shocking price tag since my boyfriend pays only ~$120 for his services (he s had multiple motorcycles) but I paid it anyway. Before leaving I spoke to the mechanic (can t remember his name) that worked on my bike who told me I have a misalignment on the front forks and it s probably from dropping my bike (I m a new rider and did drop my bike a few times by the time of the service). He mansplained a few things they did on the bike, which made me feel unpleasant. He then said that he can show me how to straighten out my forks because he didn t do it, or the tires will have abnormal wear, to which I said no and discussed with my boyfriend. So the mechanic let me go with the misalignment, WHICH HE KNEW ABOUT! When I got home I called every Royal Enfield dealership in NY, PA, NJ, CT, VT, and MA to ask how much every dealership charges for the 1st inspection. To my surprise each of the dealership said it is a 1-1.5 hour job that costs at max $200, even with shops that charge $120/hour. I felt SO ripped off!! I called and spoke to Ellis to ask to speak to the manager of the shop in regards to the bill. Our last conversation was July 19, 2019. Haven t received a phone call from anyone since then. During the winter I ve starting to look into servicing of the bike using the periodical maintenance portion of the manual and how they re performed. Ended up watching a video that included the inspection and adjustment of the steering head bearing and the way to get to the bearing is to REMOVE THE FRONT FORKS, remove the bearing for inspection, and set it all back in. Now .go back and read that 2nd paragraph where I said that the forks are left misaligned. How would one have done the inspection and adjustment of the steering head bearings if he didn t do the straightening out? Because of this I started thoroughly looking into the periodical maintenance schedule versus what was done. See the 2nd photo for comparison. I m not sure if the fuel filter was cleaned (#10 service in manual), if the fuel pipe/line was inspected (#21 in manual), if the wiring harness was inspected (#38), if the starter motor and starter relay connections were inspected (#39). And how can I know? I was already frustrated by this dealership not wanting anything to do with me after I question a bill, but this really crosses the line. To add to this they never sent me the motorcycle cover that was in the promo when you purchase the Himalayan. Their communication skills STINK. I d rather ride my bike to a different state for service at this point, hell, I can probably ship it to India and it ll be cheaper than going to Royal Enfield of Schenectady. REALLY reconsider doing business with this location of Royal Enfield, mainly because it s connected and associated to the Precision Automotive shop.

I have moved out of the area and I drive 200 miles for service at Precision, because I trust them completely. I have bought my last two cars there and am buying my third shortly. The price is fair and the service is impeccable. Love them all!!!!!!
