Inspections are quick WHEN they are open. Hours on page are incorrect, and usually have to make a second trip for inspection cause they only do them for a random amount of time between 8 am and 10 am.

My family has been going to Ritchie and the amazing mechanics at Pro Automotive for decades. Even after moving to another state I still drive back and have my vehicles serviced and repaired here. Having a fair and honest mechanic shop you can depend on is worth its weight in gold. I regrettably learned that lesson the hard way when I left for college and expected every place to be as fair, upfront and honest as Pro Auto. They were not. Hence the reason I return to the one mechanic shop i can truly trust. If you need your car serviced or repaired, Pro Automotive is a place you can trust and rely on to do top notch work at a reasonable price. Can't say enough good things about this place or it's people.
The best in the business. Owner operated. Quality work at a very fair price. They do all the work for my elderly father on both his vehicles for years. They don't rip him off either! They did such great work for him that I left my old mechanic in Glenville and now go to Pro Automotive. Very clean establishment. Call for an appointment though. It's not a drive through chop shop. You get quality work for a great price.
Dropped it off for appointment and by end of day no call back, even to tell me it would take another day and no quote prior to work. No one answered the phone eiher. They are good mechanics and reasonable prices.
When I lived in Schenectady many years ago, I was advised to see Rich (the owner) for all my car repair needs. He has never disappointed and NEVER recommends work unless it's required to keep your car in working condition. Richie is one of the most honest businessmen I have ever met.
Friendly folks, reasonable prices, good service. This was my first time with Pro Automotive. 6.21.2022 Update: Rich and his son continue to provide excellent, caring service and great prices. So glad to have found a local family business that goes above and beyond.
I haven't been there in 10 years so maybe things have changed. But they made an indelible impression by ruining a couple of my snow tires and a couple of my all season tires. It's the only time I've taken a tire to a shop and had it come back with a 3-in scalloping on the sidewall. And of course they said it was not their fault. They also installed the wrong brake part for my model car the kind of situation where it works for a while and then 8 months later you take it to another shop and they say look at this. So I stopped going to pro automotive. I've used a lot of independent shops and my experience here is the worst that I can think of. I had some excellent mechanics. Your mileage may vary, as they say. I must say it is suspicious to me that all the comments sound the same and there are no three and two and one star ratings. It's practically impossible for a car repair shop to make everyone happy.
When you help someone out the best way you can, & you go back for help, & they tell you they no longer need your help it s not fair, we needed the money, we are homeless no one understands .

Absolutely the best hidden gem in Schenectady. Please call these gentleman for your automotive repairs, inspections & oil changes, they even did the inspection for my motorcycle. Very up front, timely & you cannot beat the prices.

g842 must have this business mistaken or is deliberately trying to shed a bad light on a business for having excellant ratings as they pointed out. My first obvious question as the review was 4 months ago who would be having snow tires worked on in July/August in upstate New York? Im sorry but the owners reputation speaks for itself, never over charges, is totally trustworthy, always makes good and stands behind his jobs.

Went there because I needed my brakes done in the front & the guy went above and beyond. He did my expection, & put on new wipers. My car drives brand new now! & i was able to bring my car in the same day and he was done with it within 2hrs while being busy.
