Appears to be poorly managed. Employees standing around and goofing with eachother while I stand and wait for a 2 item online order to be picked. The order was placed 1.25 hours ago and then waited over 20 mins in store. Apparently the lock on a shelf is messed up so it's taking extra long. I will be ordering online for delivery going forward or just going to Lowes.
I called to ask if a certain item was in stack, as the website and automated phone system provided conflicting status. I sat on hold for 10 minutes. A woman answered and when I asked if she could check on stock, she said “sorry, I have a line” and hung up. Wow. Just wow.
I absolute favorite store could not say enough could about SCHENECTADY. Staff and the people are just absolutely awesome. And Dave in the plumbing department is top-notch.
This store messed up my on line order so bad and then did not really seem to care. Did not deliver on Wednesday as scheduled. Reset for Thursday and they just blew me off. Was supposed to come on Friday between 6-10am and did not show. When I called I was told that the times were not available in the store and they had to get them from other stores even though I was told the night before that they were in stock and would be on the truck first thing in the morning. Still missing item from the order. I had top have it delivered because one of the items could not be picked up which seemed very strange because it was in the store. I will not shop this store again.
Unfortunately Home Depot is denying some forms of Veterans ID which limits sales and creates negativity and bad service. Also lacking help and employee's. As of 10/12/2023 numerous calls have went through to corporate concerning an issue with people loitering begging for money bothering the customers management has done nothing and so far neither has corporate. Update as of 1/18/2025 I visited the Cambridge location at 2500 Cambridge road Schenectady New York 12304 at 12:24 p.m. this is by far the worst visit I've had at this location so far, as I approached the entrance doorways at the pro center side they had the sliding glass doors locked so I proceeded to go through the exit in the center of the store only to find no way into the store due to all the self checkout registers we're completely barricaded off and the store was in a rather disarray. As I finally got to a register I asked the employee cashier AIMEE 1 2 3 9 00003 17990 about the registers she said which ones I told her the self checkout and she replied I don't know I just got here I asked her about the door and she knew nothing about that either. During my visit to get what I was looking for I came across an employee in the tool section and I asked a real simple question about the doors and the registers and the guy couldn't barely speak English and said he don't what I say, management needs replacing
This is not my usual Home Depot, however, they were the only store in my vicinity that sold utility trailers. I have to say the customer service is top notch! I purchased a trailer that had scratches on the fender from the manufacturer's delivery. The manager switched out the damaged fender with a good fender from another trailer. He did this while I completed the paperwork and I was on my way without delay. Great job!!
Home Depot is one of my favorite go to place for repair and DIY project supplies and equipment. They have a large selection of just about anything you need. The staff are knowledgeable and helpful. I do a lot of projects where I am creating hardware pieces for unusual applications and the are really helpful. I highly recommend Home Depot to anyone.

Shopping at Schenectady Home Depot is becoming quite difficult one of the Asm Cody either he is a racist or he s targeting me once refusing to give me any help to load my materials and the other taking product off my cart saying he can t sell them to me , products I load onto my cart from the floor. I thought that was against The Home Depot policy to deny customers products that had been loaded onto their cart.

Went to Schenectady Home Depot for a dehumidifier which was shown online. The store was a dump with inventory strewn about and staff dropping f bombs to each other. The dehumidifier was there, on an upper shelf, but I chose to not interact with the angry staff. I went to the Clifton Park Home Depot which was clean, organized and nice staff. Purchase made.

Items were missing upon delivery. Asked for them to be delivered that day because they were in stock, and I ordered weeks ago. Was told only option was to have wife and baby pick up 320 pounds of concrete (Im at work) or as they kept repeating I can just cancel the order. Customer service online is AI. Our robot overlords cant help here. Store called me (instructions were to not call again Im at work) but they refused to call my spouse back even after she called. Very snarky about the order, that could just be cancelled and not delivered that day as scheduled and paid for weeks ago. They were gracious enough to offer to load the concrete in my wifes car while she held the baby, or you guessed it I could cancel the order. The only thing getting cancelled is my shopping at this store which is literally a mile from a Lowes which has wonderful customer service and excellent delivery. Do yourself a favor spend a few extra dollars and spare yourself the condescending and awful customer service of this store and drive over to Lowes. I promise you it cant be any worse this then this dumpster fire of a store.

This home Depot is extraordinarily average in every single way. Nothing is amazing about it but nothing really sucks about it. This place is the mayo of home improvement stores. It might not be for everybody but at the end of the day it tends to get the job done.
I called and spoke to the garden center. I asked if they could put 50 bags of mulch on a pallet for me and put it in my truck. I explained to her I hurt my back and she didn t care. She said we don t do that. I ll never shop in that store again.

Hello Today I rent a spray gun for painting my house the gun was bad it wasn t spraying the right way I went to return it because it s not working well , I face with an unprofessional closing manager name David his attitude was very bad didn t know how to talk to customer at all I spent over a $1000 I bought items for my new house but I wish I would never go to this place because their customer service is very horrible a manager didn t know how to talk and deal with a customer I feel really bad for this Home Depot business in Schenectady I saw a lots of people complaining about this location and I hope someone will pay attention this manager David charge me $85 for 2hr for a bad painting spray gun so I hope someone from Home Depot s administration follows up with these people at Schenectady location.

I had to return excess material i bought. Return desk handled easily and quickly. I then found the area I needed. Awesome gentlemen asked what I needed, and if I had a vehicle to handle material, and he helped me obtain the cuts I needed. He was awesome. He was a customer and not an employee. I was working on the project right away.
The associate was very helpful The bathroom layout was poor. Door opens to the sinks.
The Home Depot sold a 90inch cabinet with only 2 shelves! When I tried reaching a representative to inquire if I can purchase more shelves, it took 6 days to get a hold of a representative in that department, only to be told they don t sell shelving separately. The rep didn t attempt to offer any solutions at all! Follow - Up .. I called Hampton Bay and within 2 min, they were able to order me some shelves.

Called yesterday about a refrigerator on their website that no one else had/could get. Home Depot was stating they would deliver September 11th. When I called to check stock and ensure this date was accurate, the woman I spoke with was very rude, talked down to me when I stated I was looking for a hard to find fridge, because there being a hard to find fridge was news to me. When I finally got past the snotty responses about that, she stated the date she is shown is the date it is. When I informed her even Samsung says theres none of these around, they have zero and arent making more, she said I could order it and Ill get it when Samsung makes more and Home Depot can get them. So basically, you were going to take over 2 thousand dollars from me, for a product that you can not get, and simply not provide the product? Nice. Thats fraud and false advertising. Lets find out what Letitia James thinks about this fraud/false advertising.

Today I had my two kids under two and ton of little things I had to buy. They had no bags, no other solutions. 2 stars this trip for lack of caring and lack of bags Looked online for wood pellets for my pellet stove, great price to pick up a pallet. Rented a truck for 24$ for 2 hrs and was able to take my Pellets home quick, they loaded them for me and we were on our way. 5 stars this trip

I had big problem with a new washer it stop working after 3 loads laundry. I called the phone number on receipt they said they would send repair man in a week. WHAT! a brand new washer just delivered is going to be repaired. I was going to take it back to store myself, I was told you can not take it back to Home Depot. I was in tears. I decided to go over to Home Depot and speak to a manager and thank GOD I did , I spoke with Fernando Valls manager he calmed me down got on the phone and with in few minutes a new machine was going to be delivered and broken one was going to be removed with in week. If it wasn t for Mr VALLS I would not be doing business with Home Depot again and let people know. Thank you again Mr Valls

Do not buy a hot water heater from this location, and in particular a Rheem hot water heater. I bought a Rheem 50 gallon hot water heater and after only 5.5 years the unit died. Rheem approved me to buy another hot water heater and when my plumber went into home depot they were out of that model so charged him $250 extra for a 9 year Rheem model. When I went in to contest the $250 extra charge for a worse hot water heater they then explained that it was because the model changed and I should have went to the Clifton Park Home Depot as they thought there might be one left there. This was never explained to me or my plumber initially. Labor is only covered for 3 years on a 12 year warranty, so in the end the warranty is meaningless and the Home Depot workers stuck me with an extra $250 charge....I paid $1035 for a hot water heater replacement that was under warranty. Its a home depot. It has been adequately staffed every time I have gone, and that is very nice.
I purchased the extended warranty from Schenectady Home Depot for my washer & dryer. The lint filter totally broke and the gasket also broke. I called to get them fixed and was told the warranty doesn t cover anything except electrical. When the HUNDREDS of dollars were spent to purchase the warranty I was told it covered EVERYTHING! This isn t the first time I ve had problems with appliances from here so when I had to replace my kitchen stove I went to Lowes to get new kitchen appliances and those ones are still going strong.
We were at checkout and bathroom faucet box opened up and it was a old used faucet in it. Whoever the clerk was that accepted a return without looking in the box to check what they were returning was actually what was on the box should be reprimanded. Also, whoever restocked it.

Extremely bad customer service. I called to get information on a stump grinder and spoke with on counter rep on the phone who wouldn t give me any information on what diameter the different grinders could do. He said he didn t know, so I asked if he could look it up or ask someone (I shouldn t have to ask him to do something that is his job). He refused and was getting noticeably angry in the phone, so I asked to speak with someone else and he then started yelling at me on the phone. I called back, spoke with a manager to explain my experience and how she could help. She told me to call back when their regular person was there, so I did. He was the same level of help, no answers, and unhelpful. I called back again to speak with a manager and told him my experience, and this was now my 4th call trying to rent a stump grinder but needing the information on them so I know which one I need. He apologized, and said he would work on some retraining, got me tue answers, but wouldn t offer anything for the level of trouble experienced in what should have been an easy transaction. Obviously I sent my business elsewhere, and recommend the same.

Bought the power tool set a few weeks prior before I could even read my receipt it was snatched out of my hand by an employee. TODAY Walking out of the store and I hear receipt i need your receipt so I show an online PICK UP order receipt from my email and still wasn t satisfied with that - so told the person okay my carts outside go look and I was replied back with well I m not going out there so I walked away because I wasn t dragging a cart back inside filled with material just because she thought I looked suspicious. All in all - I will NEVER return to this store nor will I ever do business with this place again.
